Zdm while server is down ?
Hi all: Forgive the strange question. We are moving over to OES 2 (linux) and ZCM 10. I do not have a spare server to allow me to install zcm while zdm is still running. I will have to rebuild the existing server from scratch.
I know certain functions will not work with a downed server (i.e. imaging), but what about the more edir integrated policies? Who about zenworks applications which get pushed out at each login?

Use a backup machine while server is down
I have a Mini with SLS and one of the internal drives is failing. The new one is in at the Apple Store but they need a day or so for the repair. I have a backup on an external drive that can run the server, I can booth the mini from teh backup and everything runs fine. What i am trying to do is boot one of my Macbooks or Macbook Pros from the backup and use it as a backup server. Both computers will boot from the drive and it seems to work, web server is accessible from another computer but the email does not seem to work. Is what I am trying to do possible or am I missing a simple step to get the backup running.

Starting managed server while admin server is down in 8.1
Is there a way to bring the server up with script while admin server is down. I see it possible with 11g . How about 8.1?

Server slows down after a while
Hi all,
I've a problem with a linux machine which slows down after running for
some days. It usually handles about 100 request per second and after a
while it goes down to about 5 requests per second. I'm running WL6.1Sp1
on Linux with JDK1.3.1 and "-hotspot -ms512m -mx512m". I'm wondering if
this is related to some problem in my code or maybe rather is a database
issue. I took a thread dump, and the server looks idle. Does anyone see
something unusual in this dump? Does it indicate anything else than a
nearly totally idle server?

VenkatSee case #188305. There is not a whole lot of information there and we really don't like to reproduce this.
If it happens again we will add more info to the case. In the log file we have seen 'class not found' for
weblogic.utils.... classes before it shuts down. Boot it again under no load and it comes up fine.

Can we undeploy the application while the server is down?
Hi Experts,
We ran into a problem when we deployed the Web Dynpro application and restarted the instance because we made some change on the rfc. Unfortunately, the server never came back up since then, and we are unable to deploy the application anymore.
I would like to undeploy the application that I deployed earlier and restart the again, but since the server is still down (almost 5 hours up to now) I cannot connect to the Visual Administrator. In addition, the dispatcher is always red at this point, but the SDM and server are green. Could anyone give some suggestion? I would very appreciate that.

You can always undeploy using SDM.bat which will be available if SDM is up and running.

If you are receiving a message to insert disc two please see the following extraction instructions:
In the English version of the software the file CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2 extracts to C:\Creative Suite\Adobe Creative Suite 2.0\. CreativeSuiteCS2Disc1 and CreativeSuiteCS2Disc3 both extract to C:\Creative Suite CS2\Adobe Creative Suite 2.0\.
Please copy the contents of the C:\Creative Suite\Adobe Creative Suite 2.0\ folder to the C:\Creative Suite CS2\Adobe Creative Suite 2.0\ folder and you will no longer be prompted to insert disc two.

EN version is not so eaqual in all with CZ version, I have PREMIUM one, not Standard.
So I download these EN versions and Acrobat 7Pro separately.
It look that it works, I have it installed on my presentation laptop. I ussualy work on PC and laptop is for bussines trips mostly.
When I was working on my PC I found in menu one interesting option. I have installed CS2 in 2010 so it works OK, still in CZ. What I found in menu is called "Licence Transfer".
I didnt try it because I dont want to loose my activation on PC, but could you please say to me what does this option means?
Is it possible to copy licence on flash disk and use it on laptop, but it still be in PC also? Or it is only for deactivation, so you will loose it, and after this you can do new activation (which is impossible by server shut down)?
And one question to the end, if I buy some later version like CS4 or CS5 (from some graphic studio which have one licence to sell-transfer) so do Adobe plan to shut down server too, for CS4, CS5 or after this non user/customer friendly solution (I mean for CS2) will Adobe do some application which we can install on our local PC and this app will say to CSxx "Your licence is OK, just continue in work" ?? --- this would be much better, I think if Adobe do this so it will be the same like no-activation versions in EN only but without so many complains and impacts on your customers.

FTP Adapter File Polling does not raise error when FTP server is down

I am polling for new files in a FTP Server. However, if the server is down there is no way for me to catch the fault to notify someone. I am using fault-policies but that never gets triggered when polling an unavailable FTP Server.
One option is to have a completely separate scheduled process (SOA or not) that tries to connect to the servers but I am trying not to go that route just to keep things manageable and within the realm of the process.
I am sure that I am not the only one polling for new files in a FTP Server, so I thought to pick your brain to tackle this scenario.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.I was contacted by our DBA team for an exception received while writing a file to a FTP location.
Then i looked at the exception message and asked them to check the whether they are able to contact the ftp server using command prompt then they said the user password got expired.
They reset the password and its working now.
Am i missing something here :(

Trigger aler or send a mail if target ftp server is down
Hi,
I am sending file from source to target using XI.
Here my target is FTP. If the FTP server is down on the target side while placing the file we need to trigger an alert or send an email to the sender.

Create Alert Rule for the Adapter Engine errorrs. SelectAdapter Engine and make the adapter type as All. Rest is same

EIS server goign down very frequently.....
Hi we refresh cubes on a daily basis using scripts and there are 3 cubes which are refreshed daily .
I dont know why the EIS server is going down since 2 weeks very often causing the other cubes to fail.
when i see the log it says that there must be an active session to procees which i think is caused to due the server being down
then i used to restart and then the cubes would refresh fine.
whats the reason for this unexpected crasing of the server???
restarting the server manually is not difficult but the automation is lost as the server goes down.
the refresh of cubes fail one after the other and i have to restart them ..
there is no new thing going on here ...this automation was the same way since a long time and i dont know why its going down now??
can any one tell me why is the EIS server going down???You may want to watch the servers task memory utilization while the cubes are refreshing to see if you are maxing out the memory on any of the Hyperion services.
If you are maxing out the RAM on any of the Hyperion Services (we had this issue with DAS service supporting IR) then they would restart automatically and attempt to recover so after the fact, it doesn't appear to be an issue.
Many of the services cap at 2 gigs, so if you are maxing the RAM out, you will need to duplicate that service to allow additional memory to be added to the processes. -

Hello All:
I have this add-on. User use it to scan in batch iD's etc.
For 1 of the order which had a lot of batchs. In the middle of scanning it pop up a message saying UI-Add-on server is down. It didn't mention the specific add-on. And there is no add-on named UI Add-on. The only logic cause of the problem is the UI screen was up for a while (not sure how long). Has anyone seen this before??

Yes, like you said, the problem was that I wasn´t catching the event MenuID="526" very well in my MenuEvent, cause I have this part within my code but i haven´t realize that I should have the BeforeAction=False. Siebel 8.1.1.5 and BIP 10.1.3.4.1 Integration - Siebel server goes down
Hi Gurus,
I followed the steps as per the Siebel Reports Guide Rev. C and I can see the BIP Screens , views and the standard template. Also if I upload any custom template to in the siebel I can view those reports in BIP SiebelCRMReports folder.
But my issue is if I click any any screens in Siebel and then the list applet or form applet and then if I click the "Reports Button" in the top menu then the Siebel server goes down or sometimes the application hangs up. I don't know exactly the error is on Siebel side or BIP side and one thing I didn't check is the Integration Objects in Siebel tools for the standard report templates.
I'm on windows environment.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

if you click the report menu button, I guess Siebel checks which reports are associated with this particular view. If the while OM crashes at this point, it looks as if some of the repository changes in 8.1.1.5 were not successfully applied. Did you import the provided .sif file which came with the 8115 BIP ACR?

Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.

Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.
