Zebra QL420 Printer using PEAP (Verisign Certs)

Hi,
Has anybody been able to successfully get a Zebra printer QL420 Plus connected to Cisco LWAPP/CAPWAP APs ?
We are using WPA2 - PEAP with Verisign Signed Server Certificate.

Yes I have the QL420 + printers working with 5508 WLC and 3502E CAPWAP APs and PEAP
Fotis - You will most likely find the reason for the slow ping resonce is down to the setting for "Power Mode". You likely have it set to "best". This setting controls how long the device "sleeps" before it awakens and downloads queued traffic from and AP. Setting it to "off" will put the device in to CAM (Constantly Awake Mode). This means that the device never switches its radio card off and never allows traffic to be queued on an AP. However this will mean that the drain on the devices battery will be much greater, I believe there is a slidding scale of settings for this device that go in order of highest battery drain as follows:
Best
1
2
3
4
off
Off will give you the best performance with maximum battery drain. play with the settings and see which gives best performance/batery drain balance.

  • Device type to be used for Zebra 220XiIII Printer

    Hello All,
We are printing labels from SAP to the printer Zebra 220XiIII Printer using Adobe Print forms technology. When configuring the printer, we used the device type as PDF1. The print was fine in terms of data display and positioning of the text and barcodes but the issue is that it takes 30secs. to print each label. This was not acceptable as it is creating delays in Shipment.
To address the issue we changed the device type to LZEB3. The print was fast i.e., in 20 seconds the printer was able to print 5 labels but the font on the label is increased automatically because of which the data on the label is truncated.
Does any one have any ideas on what is the device type to be used and is there any specific font to be used?
Please note that we desinged the forms using ADOBE FORMS TECHNOLOGY. There are many notes in Service market place which are specific to Smart forms. Please come up with your ideas.
    Regards,
    Praveen T

    Hi Florian,
Thank you for your response. We were able to fix the issue by changing the Device type to LZEB2.
For some reason YZB200, YZB300 and other device types which we found in the device type wizard did not work in our case. We did not investigate the reason as LZEB2 worked and we have time crunch

  • ACS SE w/ Verisign Cert

I am using the CAS as an authenication server against AD for my wireless network. I have a WISM as my WLC and some of my users are getting a certifate error when I enable WPA. The error is coming from the ACS. I get an invalid cert error or cert not verified from the Iphone. The certificate is valid and I installed a intemediate CA. No matter what I try i can't get the error to go away.
    Could some please assist?
    Thanks
    mike

I am using PEAP with MSCHAP. From the IPhone I am getting the cert is not verified, When I use the IntelPro supplicant on a Laptop, it refuses to log on even though I select use "any trusted CA". I called Cisco TAC and they say I have to install the cert on all my computer, I don't believe that is correct. I am using a Verisign cert and so should already be on my computers.
Internet explorer is not having an issue with the cert, the dell wireless WLAN client does not have a problem either.

  • Issues with Crystal 2008 Printing to a Zebra Label Printer with SP2

    Hi there
We are having issues printing to a Zebra Label Printer using Crystal 2008 SP2.
When you attached a .rpt file to the .NET Application which is accessed via RDP/ICA the reports in Crystal XI worked fine.
    Steps we have taken are:
Printing direct from Crystal 2008 Designer to the Zebra Printer works using a Generic Text Driver
Printing direct from Crystal 2008 Designer to the Zebra Printer using a Zebra Universal Print Driver DOES NOT work (we were advised the Universal Print Driver may assist with the issue)
The report when accessed via the .NET Application via RDP/ICA using the Universal Print Driver it doesn't work.
The report when accessed via the .NET Application via RDP/ICA using the Generic Print Driver it doesn't work.
The report when accessed via the .NET Application drectly from Server Console prints fine using Generic Print Driver, but not with RDP/ICA.
Can anyone offer any suggestions to a fix?
    Many thanks.

    Hello,
I'll look at this tomorrow when I get into the office. An I am moving this to the developer forum.
    Thank you

  • Problem with printing EMF to Zebra ZM400 printer

I'm attempting to print multiple copies of an rdlc directly to a Zebra ZM400 printer.  Previewing the report in a report viewer, then printing, works as expected.  Printing directly to the printer, thereby bypassing the report viewer, does not
work as expected.  Alignment of text is off and the font is wrong.  This is an older ZM400 with an updated driver.
This is not a problem with a newer ZM400.  So I'm thinking it's the age of the printer and not anything to do with the programming code.  Unfortunately I cannot try the rdlc on the newer ZM400 due to the forms size expected by the printer.  I
thought I'd check here to see if anyone else has had this problem and if they were able to get it resolved.  Otherwise, I think the user will have to upgrade their printer.
    Here's the code I'm using:
    If MyGlobals.strLabelRequested = "xxxx" Then
    deviceInfo = "<DeviceInfo>" & _
    "<OutputFormat>EMF</OutputFormat>" & _
    "<PageWidth>2.96in</PageWidth>" & _
    "<PageHeight>6.9583in</PageHeight>" & _
    "<MarginTop>0.0in</MarginTop>" & _
    "<MarginLeft>0.0in</MarginLeft>" & _
    "<MarginRight>0.0in</MarginRight>" & _
    "<MarginBottom>0.0in</MarginBottom>" & _
    "</DeviceInfo>"
    Else
    deviceInfo = "<DeviceInfo>" & _
    "<OutputFormat>EMF</OutputFormat>" & _
    "<PageWidth>4.427in</PageWidth>" & _
    "<PageHeight>8.25in</PageHeight>" & _
    "<MarginTop>0.161in</MarginTop>" & _
    "<MarginLeft>0.25in</MarginLeft>" & _
    "<MarginRight>0.161in</MarginRight>" & _
    "<MarginBottom>0.161in</MarginBottom>" & _
    "</DeviceInfo>"
    End If
The "If..." part of the code is for the older ZM400.  The "Else.." is for the newer ZM400.
    Thanks.

    I don't know the answer.
However I do have a question. If you can't try this on a newer ZM400 due to the forms size expected by the printer then how do you know it will work on a newer ZM400? Therefore how could you tell the customer they must upgrade or something? And how then
would you know this is not a problem with a newer ZM400?
Maybe the below links can help. Online C# to VB converters like

  • Non-Verisign certs in WS7

    Hello,
I have a mix of server certificates from Verisign and Network Solutions CAs. Both types are stored in my Crypto accelerator (hardware token), from where I've been using them for WS6 and AS7 instances.
In WS7, the Certificates tab in the admin interface shows certs of both types and the token that they are contained within. When I attempt to configure a listener with SSL enabled, the Certificate field has two types, "RSA Certificates" and "ECC Certificates". The latter says "No ECC Certificates Available", and the pick-list for the RSA Certificates only lists the Verisign certificates.
For a server that I migrated from an older version (WS6.1), the server.xml lists the correct server-cert-nickname value for a NetSol cert, and indeed, the cert is properly loaded and the listener starts up fine using that certificate.
Why is it that my NetSol certs don't show up in the admin interface? I can hack the server.xml file in vi to use the correct certs, but I'm thinking there should be a way that I can access these other certs with the admin interface.
    Thanks,
    Bill

(stuff deleted for brevity - let me know if you need to see all of this output)Hmmm...this is interesting...after importing the cert from the hardware token into the internal certificate database, it now shows up as "Server-Cert" in the RSA Certificates list of the SSL->Edit HTTP Listener admin page. So it only shows certs from the hardware token when they are Verisign certs, even though the NetSol certs work just fine when they are stored in the internal database. This is NOT a work-around, however, as this defeats the purpose of having the crypto accelerator.
BTW, I also sent a note to NetSol's support people, and they had this thought:
As we use an intermediate, that could be the reason why they are not listed.
Without the intermediate it will not find a chain to the trusted root.
We would recommend contacting the software provider for details on
importing the intermediate into the application server.I have already tried importing their certificates into the internal token, but that had no effect on this problem. Do I need to import their intermediate certs into the hardware token, rather than the internal one? If so, how do I do that? Or do I need to install these intermediate certs in the admin server's internal database, rather than my server instance's database?
On the assumption that these intermediate certs were needed in the admin server's internal database, I used certutil to load them to see if that would help:
    # certutil -A -n 'AddTrust External Root' -t 'CT,C,C' \
    -d . -a -i /tmp/certs/AddTrustExternalCARoot.crt
    # certutil -A -n 'UTN-USERFirst-Hardware - AddTrust AB' -t 'c,,' \
    -d . -a -i /tmp/certs/UTNAddTrustServer_CA.crt
    # certutil -A -n 'Network Solutions Certificate Authority - GTE Corporation' -t 'c,,' \
    -d . -a -i /tmp/certs/NetworkSolutions_CA.crt
    # certutil -L -d .
    Admin-Server-Cert                                            u,u,u
    Admin-Client-Cert                                            u,u,u
    AddTrust External Root                                       CT,C,C
    UTN-USERFirst-Hardware - AddTrust AB                         c,,
Network Solutions Certificate Authority - GTE Corporation    c,,
Admin-CA-Cert                                                CTu,u,uHowever, after stopping and restarting the admin server, I still do not see my token-resident certs in the admin interface.
Let me know what you'd like to see next.

  • How can i deploy macbooks and 802.1x authentication using PEAP/MSChap version 2

How can i deploy macbooks and 802.1x authentication for wireless connectivity using PEAP/MSChap version 2. The Cert is generated by a 2008 Windows CA authority. I am trying to get to join but the MAC doesnt seem to want to accecpt the cert. Can i not validate the cert and still have it join the 802.1x wireless netqwotk? The wireless netwotk is using a Cisco 5508 wireless controller and Cisco 1142 access points. All works fine with Windows devices.

    Hi Tarik,
    Thanks for your answers,
I've attached my configured AuthZ rules and AuthZ profile for provisioning,
I want the process to be the same for iPhone, Android and Windows.
    1) Connect to the SSID
    2) Login using your AD credentials PEAP-MS-CHAP-v2
    3) Redirect to device registration portal (So I can set a limit of 3 devices per employee)
    4) As soon as the client click "register" no more redirects and PERMIT-ALL
I think that I don't need to rely on profiling because In terms of AuthZ policies it should be something like this:
    1) if WIRELESS802.1x and PEAP-MS-CHAPV2 and BYODREGISTRATION=!YES(Unknown or not reg) then "Redirect to device registration(that is NSP right?)"
    2) if WIRELESS802.1x and PEAP-MS-CHAPV2 then PERMIT-ALL(no redirection)
    3) everything else = DENY-ALL
But the NSP looks for Client Provisioning policies, so if I don't configure any policy it should Allow Network Access(See attachment photo3.png) but as I said on the post it shows that cannot retrieve the MAC-Address so the client can't register his device and don't have access to the network. (To grant access I've configured provisioning policies, that way the clients can register their devices but they are redirected to google play or are forced to install the profile at iOS and this is what I don't want because it is not necessary)
What screenshoot do you need after the registration? the Auth report?
Thank you very much for your time!

  • Print the UPC-A Barcode on the ZEBRA S4M printer

    Hi,
We are using ZEBRA S4M printer and we have to print UPC-A Barcode from the smartform.
There is not Barcode character defined to it. How to print the barcode without barcode character format on the label.
Rest all the fields of the label are printing correctly on the label.

    Hi Gnana,
    Thanks for your reply.
Currently there is no font defined in our SAP system which supports UPC-A barcode format.
To defne new barcode in SE73, it requires to implement the necessary steps like
    1. having the necessary dll files - which may be supplied by any third party vendor.
    2. And the required device types.
If the the above information is available, the new barcode can be created in SAP.
But i dont have sufficient information whether the above approach has to be followed, as UPC-A is the Universal Product Code and needs to be printed to the confirmed guidelines.
I also know that EAN13 is the superset of UPC-A and EAN13 barcode is supported by SAP ECC6.0. I tried to print using EAN13 but the values that i read using barcode reader didnot match the with values that i provide.
EAN13 is 13 character barcode whereas UPC-A supports only 12 character.
Please suggest if any suitable solution.

  • FYI. Verisign Cert & ACS

for those who have troubles getting verisign cert working on the ACS box, i just spoke to a verisign tech support after facing issues with certs. He mentioned that when generating a CSR on ACS, it generates extra info that are not compatible with verisign. Verisign is working on the issue, it is expected to be rectified soon (in a day or two). The tech support refused to give me further info about what version of ACS causing the issue or so... I'm using ACS3.3 at the moment.

I've installed a Verisign cert on the ACS with minimal difficulty, but it does take a couple of extra steps.
When generating the cert request on the ACS, you have to enter the complete identification path in the Common Name field of the form. i.e., instead of just cn=Ciscoacs, you have to enter c=US,s=Florida,l=KeyWest,o=TheShirtShack,ou=Accounting,cn=Ciscoacs all on the same line.
Also, if the certificate file format that Verisign sends back is not recognized by the ACS, you can import it into your web browser and then re-export it in the correct format (DER .509 if I recall correctly) and then upload the reformatted cert to the ACS.
It works fine after all that =)

  • Unable to print barcode in smart forms in zebra 420 printer.

    Hi,
Can anyone please help me out with the following issue.
    1. I am unable to print the barcode using a zebra barcode printer from SAP. I use C128A format.
    2. But this issue doesn't come when I print the same form using a Laser printer. The scanner also detects the same correctly.
    3. The same barcode printer prints  my earlier forms with the same settings correctly.
May I please know where the issue exactly is?
    Regards,
    Krishna

    Hi,
Please check the size of the barcode in the styles and check ur printer settings.
The paper layout of the printer also needs to be checked.

    Hi Guru's,
I have a script for Zebra label printing. its an old script working fine. Now the issue is:
The above script is printing labels for 200 dpi printers as per the requirement.
Now one of the Markets have purchased 300 dpi printer. When the print the same label using the new printer using the script, they are getting the Label compressed.(i.e.. the Script is now much smaller and aligned to the left top corner, no data is missing but the Lettering is compressed and not occupying the total space alloted on the label).
I have chcked the manual for Zebra label printers, but could not solve my issue. Can any one of u help me. Thank you.

    Hi Balakrishnachaitanya,
i've made just a couple of sapscript whit the ZPL language, and i dont't think that you can set the DPI of print,
maybe you have to set the printer' settings.

  • How to suppress extra form feed for character report printing using ORARRP?

    Dear All,
We are using Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.2.0.2) on Windows 2003 Server and most of our client PC's are Windows XP Professional machines. We are migrating our existing oracle application from 2-tier architecture to 3-tier architecture (6i to 10g). We have installed ORARRP utility for remote direct printing and to a limited extent we are successfull in getting the things work out for our system users, However, we are facing a problem using the ORARRP utility for which we are not able to find a solution till date.
We have configured ORARRP utility on every user's PC and the printing of bitmap reports is working well. However, while printing CHARACTER reports using ORARRP utility, after the report gets printed, an EXTRA FORM FEED is issued by ORARRP to the printer and because of this the printer stationary skips one extra page and advances to the next page. Please note that this EXTRA FORM FEED happens only while printing a CHARACTER REPORT.
Has anyone come across such a problem using ORARRP ? How can we avoid this extra FORM FEED from CHARACTER REPORT printing using ORARRP ? Is there any other tool which supports remote direct printing just like ORARRP?
I shall be highly obliged if anyone could reply to my queries ASAP.
    Regards,
    KrishnaKumar S

Please help ! I tried the "send_form_feed" and "postscript_dos_print" parameters without success. The extra form feed is always there. Thanks.

  • HP Deskjet 3550 cannot print using Airport Extreme via USB connection on Windows 7 64 bits

Product Name and Number: HP Deskjet 3550 Inkjet Printer
Operating System installed: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bits
    Error message: None
Any changes made to your system before the issue occurred: Setting up HP printer using Airport Utility to add a new printer and installed Bonjour Print Wizard.
Problem: My printer is already set up using Airport Utility. When I print something, the printer doesn't do anything. Is there something I haven't done lately in order to get this printer working using my wifi router?
Suggestion #1: Are the print jobs getting stuck in the print queue? You can check this by clicking on the printer icon in your task tray by the clock.
Error Message #1: Yes, the print job got stuck in the print queue, but the moment, it disappeared from the print queue and the printer doesn't print at all. This is frustrating.
Suggestion #2: Does the printer work as expected if you connect it directly to the PC via USB?
Error Message #2: Yes, the printer works if I connect it directly to my PC via USB, but I don't understand why it wouldn't work with the wifi router, though.
Suggestion #3: This has to do with the way the router handles the connection to the printer. I found another thread, regarding this issue, and it has some information that may help resolve it.
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Networking-and-Wireless/Print-Problem-Using -USB-Printer-on-Airp...
If that does not help, I would recommend posting on the Apple forums, as they may have more expertise with the router's abilities:
    https://discussions.apple.com/community/wireless/airport
Error Message #3: After clicking on the first link that you posted, it was very helpful, but the printer couldn't print completely and somehow it would stop at the quarter of a paper. It looks incomplete when I took it out from my printer. It does that every time.

    UPDATE!
Problem solved!  So this is just a followup in case someone else ever stumbles into these boards with the same or similar problems as mine, that is, trying to run an HP Deskjet D1500 series printer [mine's a D1520] on an Airport Extreme wifi router's USB port as a network printer [with the Airport Extreme controlled by an ancient G4 PowerMac Quicksilver currently running OS X 10.4.11).
Although it probably SHOULDN'T matter, since this type of printer works fine with just the Tricolor cartridge as shipped when hooked up directly to a computer's USB port, on a hunch I got a black HP cartridge (that's a type 21, not type 22 as I had earlier said), slapped it in, tried a test page, and all's well.  So, we can call off the technoid hounds.  Everything running perfectly.
I hope this message in a bottle may help someone else out there some day soon who may be scratching his or her head with a similar stumper.  And just to recap those important Windows printer settings, they are:
    * [Printer Properties--> Ports--> Add New Port...] "Standard TCP/IP Port"
    * [Configure Port] IP Address "10.0.1.1" and Port "9100"
    Best of luck!

  • PhotoSmart 310a doesn't print using wireless connection

First... I have to say that if I had known what a HUGE pain in the butt this printer was I would never have bought it.  On top of that, the thing apparently doesn't have an option to "hard wire" connect it to my computer... which the guy at the store didn't bother to point out.  On top of that HP's customer service is, apparently, non-existent, as attempts to reach by phone are useless.
They can't even seem to get the model number on the machine where you can find it... so the instructions on "how to find your model number" are useless.
That said... here is my problem... which if I can't fix, I'm simply returning this and getting something else.
I have my printer all set up.  Wireless is set up.  ePrint is set up.  Test pages print fine.
I have actually been successful printing with it ONE time.... so I know that it can do it.
It does give me a "low signal" message - however it seems to have no problem printing using the email option, or downloading from the web for the "reports."   It scans and my laptop "sees" the scanned image, which is transmitted over the wireless network.   If it is truly a low signal problem it seems like it would have issues with other functions regarding the internet.
BUT... when I send something from my laptop (MacBook OSX 10.5.8) to the printer it says...
    .. connecting
    .. idle
    .. priinting (%)
.. then the print job disappears from the queue in the dialog box ... yet nothing actually prints out.
.. it then say's "Printer Ready" - I guess ready for another print job that it won't perform.
.. It does NOT give any kind of error code... say it's "paused" or anything like that.  It's as if it THINKS it is printing... but it does not.  It makes no sound like it's trying to print either.  Paper is loaded in fine and it will print test pages with no problem and doesn't indicate any problems on those other than "low signal"
... When I use the "printer utility" to print a test page - also goes wireless - it prints just fine.
I've tried to use this printer only 4 times now for various jobs... and each time has been an ordeal lasting from 30 minutes to several hours.    I've managed to get it to print on one occasion... though I can not remember how I did it.
It has NO problem printing from an email... so I guess I could just always do it that way... but it involves several extra steps to do so and I'm not even sure it would work for every type of print job I need.
    It works fine scanning
    It works fine photocoping
It works fine printing from ePrint (email)
It just DOES not print via the wireless connection
I don't understand how a company can make something this sophisticated and not have it give you an ERROR CODE when it fails to complete a function... and frankly, I'm fed up with this thing.  It's a big, oversized, shiny paperweight and I've wasted way too much of my time trying to figure it out.  This is one last ditch effort.
Can anyone help?    THANKS so much if you can!
    Sue

It is more likely a network problem, so please tell me about your network - router brand/model, encryption type (WEP, WPA, etc) and ISP type (DSL, Cable, etc).
In the mean time, you could try this quick trick; resetting the printing system:
    - Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
    - Right (control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
    - Select the plus sign to re-add it. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.
Oh, and indeed this printer does have a USB port for connection directly to your computer.  It does NOT have an Ethernet port for connection directly to your router.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • Unable print scheduled report on network printer using BOEXI 3.0

    Hi,
I'm unable to print a scheduled report on network printer using BOE XI 3.0. I get the following error
Error Message: Error in File ~ce6a054be1a25b52.rpt: Request cancelled by the user. ]
Has anyone encountered this kind of problem and know what the solution is?
    Thanks,

    Hey Falk,
    Thanks for the response.
I can print on a network printer after I changed 'Crystal Reports Job Server' to run under a user account that has privileges to access the printer.
To answer your questions regarding the problem:
    >Can you schedule the report successfully ?
    >>Yes I was able to schedule the report successfully
    >Can you print the report successfully?
    >>NO the scheduled task would fail with the error message as posted above.
    Thanks,
