Zen 2.0 - Inventory & New Compaq Deskpros

I got Zen 2.0. We recently got a batch of Compaq Deskpro EN's in and I
am
finding that inventory is not working. The last batch of Compaq
Deskpro EN's
we got 4 years ago didnt have problems. Are there any TID's that might
yield
some information regarding this? Just to give you a little more info,
all
the fields
show up, but only a couple actually contain workstation data. The
others
are blank.
In addition, when it does inventory a workstation, it hogs all
available
resources. This
is turns forces the end user to Ctrl + Alt + Del it.

I loaded the Compaq DMI and attempted to scan the workstation. I
checked the
contents of Zeninv.log. Towards the bottom all it mentions was
Zeninv.nlm
was loaded. Nothing else. It tied up the system almost immediately so
I end
tasked it after a half minute.

  • Solaris 8 4/01 Install Problem on Compaq Deskpro

    Howdy,
I am trying to install Solaris 8 4/01 on a Compaq Deskpro 6000 but I am having a problem at the reboot phase. The instructions indicate that I need to eject the Install CD after the system resets and before the memory test/HW detection phase. My question is, how do I know when this occurs...there is no screen output to tell me when this is happening. Also, The system seems to hang on reboot on a Compaq Logo screen with the hourglass just sitting there doing nothing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Dennis

    Dennis,
The installation program should tell you when it is going to restart the system. You will be asked to 'press any key/enter to continue."
Immediately when your system is restarted, remove any CDs from your drives.
If your system is hanging while it is showing the Compaq logo, trying pressing the 'ESC' key so that you can see what is actually going on.
    I hope this helps.

  • Zen 4 - Zen 6.5 Inventory database upgrade fails

    Hi all,
Have installed Zen 6.5 over a Zen 4 server (nw65) running inventory.
Database is on a seperate oracle server.
When I start inventory, it starts the database upgrade and then fails
with a java exception part way through, and then says "stopping the
    upgrade service".
Following is the log. Anyone know which bit is falling over and why?
There's a few errors in the log and I don't know which are cosmetic/non
critical. Either way, I've researched each and can't find any fixes
    anyway.
    cheers
    Dave

ok putting inv into "ALL" debug mode, it told me it was running
    init_sl_0.sql
I found this file contained in migrate.zip under the wminv\properties
    directory.
So I extracted the migrate.zip file, edited init_sl_0.sql and removed
the alter tablespace lines. Why they're wanting to do alter tablespace
I have no idea - applications shouldn't expect to be able to do that...
it's up to the organisation and the DBA to manage the tablespaces, not
    the application.
I then re-zipped all the files using Winzip and named the file
migrate.zip and placed it in the properties directory.
Now, when the upgrade runs I get a java exception when it tries to
unzip migrate.zip and the upgrade bombs.
I also tried just opening the migrate.zip file with Winzip and directly
editing the file from within Winzip, which does allow for this. However
it appears the files inside the archive are flagged read-only, so
Winzip can't rewrite the edited file back into the same folder location
    within the archive.
    Here's the java exception:

I just had a Pioneer deck installed in my car to replace the factory unit. It has a USB connection, but when I connected my player to it, I got a message saying that it would not work. There is an accessory input on the face of the unit; how do I use that with my MP3 player?
to use the player with the usb port you will need to add music files to the removable disc area of the player & when you connect the player to the stereo it must be in removable disk mode for the car stereo to read the files. If the car has a AUX input on the front you can buy a cord like this one? http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...duct_id=820445 connect it using the headphone jack on the player. The removable disc mode gives the better sound quality. Can you post a link for your model car stereo?

  • How do I transfer music from my Creative Zen Micro to my new Mac Mini?

My Mac Mini does nothing when I plugged my Zen in by usb. My old Windows computers would automatically detect new hardware and lead me through the process.

The music sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The exception is itunes purchases: File>Transfer Purchases
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.  Use your backup copy to put everything back.

  • Zen server mgmt - inventory service not connecting

installed ZENworks Desktop Management 6.5 and somehow I see ZEN works
Server management on the Console screen. I did NOT install ZEN for
servers so I don't know how or understand why I have three 'ZFS' files in
my sys/zenworks directory - these files start ZEN Server Management.
Now I can remove/rename these files so Server Management doesn't start,
but then my ZENworks Inventory Service doesn't connect to the 'XML'.
Apparently my Inventory service is pointing back to the ZEN Server
    Management db????
What is the correct way to get rid of ZEN Server Management, and how do I
make sure Inventory service is connected to the correct place(db).
I also have a quick question about registration. shouldn't it happen at
every boot? And what is the correct reg that points to the server. I've
    seen two things:
    novellzenworkszenwsreg import server = 222.222.222.222
    and
novellworkstation managerImport Server default = 222.222.222.222
    which one is correct.
right now my workstation, when it registers, does so three times! It
creates, then sees a duplicate and another duplicate
Should ZEN for Servers be installed with Desktop Management? it has
happened to me 4 times so It's not a mis-click of the mouse.

Just bought a HP laptop with Windows 7. I try to load the Zen Microphote software disk, and it seems the software doesn't like an unknown operating system.

  • Zen V Plus, brand new no scre

Hi, I have looked through the questions and solutions on here and the knowledge base and found nothing of use in this situation. I have just recieved a brand new Limited Edition Pink Zen V Plus 2GB. It has been charged and all associated software installed and firmware updated. The screen doesnt work. At all. Nothing. Its been charged for at least 0 hours. I have followed instruction from the knowledge base. Problem being there is no screen to enable me to see what if anything the instruction has done. I can put music, pics etc onto the player with the software that came with it. I can also delete everything with the format option. I have updated the firmware. I have reset the player countless times. The little blue buttons light up but there is absolutely no other visual indication that it is working.Being brand new out of the box I wouldnt expect this.Anyone else have any ideas?I have contacted the provider and am awaiting return advice. Frustratingly,Masher:angry:

Hi Masher,?Just bring down to Creative shop n get it replaced ...as long the warranty still in effect.

I got my creative zen micro a few weeks ago and I have some questions.
I'm using Plays For Sure from MSN. Now that I've downloaded that do I always have to use it's Can I subscribe to other services like Rhapsody?
Is there any help for organizing my music? I try to make a new playlist and it shows up on the computer and says it's syncd but I can't find it on my micro.
I have some workout selections with voiceovers like cardio coach and some motivational speeches. Is there a way to isolate those so I can still use the shuffle feature and dj type features without those getting into the mix?
There's a small square of some kind in the upper right corner of my screen with a "" in it. What is this?
This is so confusing for me.

In theory yes. I don't know how well the Micro works with tunes from different stores on it, but I've yet to hear that people have had problems.

    ps.
You can of course create playlists with MediaSource and ZMME, but you must get the updated versions for the v2 firmware from Nomadworld.com downloads.

No. It's been a longstanding wishlist item.
There's a small square of some kind in the upper right corner of my screen with a "" in it. What is this?
It's a play mode. There are various play modes that you can use, so that the queue does different things e.g. play randomly. The one you have selected is Repeat Track. To change the play mode from the queue press the menu button (bottom right-hand corner) then scroll down to play mode, select it and change.
