Zen 4/8/16 videos on SD c

So.... because of the SD limitation with music library integration, I'm currently just using the SD card for videos.
Annoyingly, this still presents problems because you can't set a bookmark to resume a video from the previous position. If the video is a 2hr long film, this is a big problem.
So as a workaround, I split a film up into it's chapters, with a separate file for each chapter.
When playing music from SD, it will automatically play all the tracks in a folder in sequential order. But with videos, it plays one video, then takes you back to the folder list!!! ARGHHHH!
It's like the whole functionality of the SD has been designed to be frustrating at every possible moment. Please Creative, if you can't fully integrate the SD card with the library, give us some more flexibility with controlling the play mode, or ability to set up a playlist or something!!

...i keep telling people this but nobody listens...
...if you turn on the hold switch on the player...
...the screen will tuen off an you will increae your battery life EXPONENTIALLY...
...i get well over 24 hours of straight audio play that way...

  • ZEN Vision M 30GB Video Conversion problem: black scr

My husband cannot display any video on his ZEN Vision M 30 GB. Any video converted comes over with ONLY audio, black screen (? no video display )This happened with the original firmware and software. I updated firmware and did all available software updates; no change. I had a previous ZEN Vision M 30GB, which did not have any problem with video conversion and display. Are there any known problems with specific Media Player versions, or QuickTime ?which may be a potential cause of this problem?( I have heard that this product works best with Media Player 9. )Anyone had similar problems, or have any ideas? Thanks,Ravenquille

Problem apparently solved: Last night, I downloaded and installed the free program, SUPER. My husband has not had a problem so far; been working beautifully! Ravenquille

  • Zen Vision M VS Video Ipod

<SPAN class=postbody>I've been wondering what the lucky ones that already have bought a Zen Vision M think of it ?I got to upgrade my Ipod Photo and was wondering if i should either go for the Ipod Video or Zen Vision M. Both look like they are good players and i've purchased quite a few models from Creative but resorted to go with the ipod cause size does matter to me plus I must say the interface from what my ZEN NX was a fabulous upgrade. But now I wonder if i should jump back with Creative. I know the ZEN NX is outdated and wanted to know how the new model compared to the 5G Ipod. I understand that few already have one in their hands so I thought this would be the best place to ask.
<SPAN class=postbody>I've looked alot on the net for comparaison websites and i've found so far just one here that gives a Ipod 5G VS Creative Zen Vision M review. Anyone got another more complete website perhaps ? Or perhaps one of you first hand tried both ?Would love to have an honest and unbiased advice.thanks!

Well, if size is important to you, then the iPod 30GB is your best choice. The new 30GB iPod is less than half an inch thick, which makes the Zen Vision: M nearly twice as thick. The 60GB iPod is only as thick as the iPod mini was.
The Zen Vision: M claims twice as much battery life for video as the 30GB iPod, using 500kbps MPEG-4. Apple's battery life rating is based on H.264 video encoded at 768kbps for video and 28kbps audio. That's nearly 900kb
    ps.
Apple always bases their battery life claims off of what they sell at the iTunes Music Store, and that is what the video they sell is encoded at.
The iPod DOES support H.264 video. The Zen Vision: M does not. This means that you can get a video down to about 480kbps (384 video 96 audio). Go here http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/ and test it out for yourself. Video at that bitrate looks fantastic. Much much much better than WMV, divx/xvid, or standard MPEG-4 at that bitrate. You can get the same quality as xvid/divx, or MPEG-4 at half the bitrate with H.264. WMV is just too bad to even look at when talking about those bitrates.
Get the iPod. Use H.264, get better image quality or the same image quality at lower bitrates with longer battery life. Get a smaller player. Be happy.

  • Creative Zen Vision: M 30GB Video Upload Tutor

I understand the concept of upload vids to my MP4 player but just how do I go about copying DVDs to my hard-dri've then to my device, any tutorials would be much appreciated. I only really want to put a couple of episodes of Jackass, Wildboys or Dirty Sanchez on, and maybe a couple of free music video discs I've got with a couple of Victory Records CD's I've bought previously. I've tried many online links I've managed to copy a DVD to my hard-dri've using '**bleep*' which I was reccomended to use, just don't know if I have to convert it. Any advice, information, links, suggestions much appreciated. Thanks all. Josh.Message Edited by Dale-CL on 0-9-2007 05:0 PM

It is illegal in the US and many other countries CL operates in to break the encryption on a DVD, which is what the software you mentioned does. We cannot allow discussion of illegal DVD ripping on this forum, sorry.

  • Zen Vision M:ipod videos and podcasts will wo

What about all those sites that now offer videos that you can download for your ipod? Will those videos work on the Vision M?
Also, what about it's ability to handle Podcasts? iTunes makes podcasts really easy to handle. You don't have to download, search, drag, and drop - you just click and sync.
I'd really like to buy the Creative. The iPod 60GB is selling for $380 in some stores and that's awfully appealing. Also, there might come a day when I want an iPod harness in my Honda so I can control it with my car stereo. I don't see Creative doing that. From what I've read, all FM transmitters suck. Apple simply has more support for connectivity, downloads, and stereo accessories.

Don't know if it can handel podcasts though (It might depend on what type of format the podcasts are in). But I you should be able to click and sync useing WMP 0 to send video (you can do it with music, and I think video works).
Not all Fm transmitters suck, I have a blekin tunecast 2 and it works great. It isn't good as it would be if i had a direct conection to my car, but I don't get any static Unforutinantly, creative mp3 players are short on accessories, yet it seems like creative is working to change that.

  • (zen mozaic) rotate screen video

    Hi,
Just got my mozaic 8gb with the travelsound speakers.
Is there any way to rotate the video to portret view?
Its very odd to play a video in the tavelsound in landscape view.
    Did i miss something?
    Regards, Beaviz.

When the player freezes you should be able to turn it off by pressing the little reset button on the left side. Use something small and pointy to reach it.
Also, you don't have to first turn the player off to access the recovery mode, if it's already off you can just proceed with step 2. Try a clean up and reboot, to see if that hel
    ps.
You can also try formatting the whole player, but make sure you have a backup of the player's contents, because everything will be erased.

Just wanted to mention - I bought the IR Remote thinking to make the player useful without navigation keys. Now I feel like I wasted more money instead of shifting to some other player by some other company with better customer service.

  • Zen V Plus videos on m

Does anyone know how or what format to convert videos to get them to play using a mac? The creative site says avi and thats what I did but it didnt play on my player. Also, how can you change the background picture?

The Zen V Plus does not support the playback of compressed video content.
Which means when you convert an Mpeg video for playback on the Zen V Plus, the video is uncompressed in the final file.
Which is why they get so large.
Typically if you convert a 320x240 mpg file down to the 28x96 5fps video format for the Zen V Plus,? the resulting file will still be 8 to 0 times the size of the original due to the lack of video compression being used.

  • HUGE PROBLEM WITH 2DAYS ZEN V P

my zen was playing a video and it suddenly freezed....i pushed the reset button and the screen went black but i cant open the device now what should i do? HELP!

When you reset it, it doesn't start up again on it's own, so just try turning it on again (unless you already knew that and it doesn't work, in which case, i don't know)?edit: as for the freezing video, mine did that when i first got mine. Just download the newest firmware for it and it works fineMessage Edited by james4 on 2-23-200607:25 AM

  • Editing Tags on the Player (Zen 32 GB) and Probs with cover

    Hi there,
My dearly beloved Creative Zen touch just snuffed it and I replaced it with the Creative Zen 32 GB.
I am very, very satisfied with the player over all.
Only the Tag editing really annoys me.
On my Zen touch I could edit the tags after loading the tracks on to the player.
Not only one by one but say, all from one album at once.
Is this even possible with the Zen touch?
I accidentally tagged an audiobook with 7 CDs wrongly.
Do I have to erase it and load it on the player again?
    That would be sooo uncomfortable.
    Thanks for your help.
Oh and what do I have to do, to have the pictures of the albums shown on the zen?
I mean, how are these pictures attached to the tracks of an album?

I saw the suggestion earlier in this post to use the tag editing tool within zen media explorer but can't seem to find that on the software I have?
The "Zen Media Explorer" is the MTP device plugin for Windows Explorer. It creates a volume named "Zen Media Explorer" in the list of dri'ves/volumes that appear under "My Computer" or in a top-level explorer window. Since the flash Zen is MTP (not MSC a.k.a. UMS) it doesn't have an assigned dri've letter. It comes as part of the general "software pack" Creative includes with the Zen to handle management, video and image file conversion, etc. You can also grab the latest version/update from the (Support | Downloads | Zen) web page. You may need to use the controls in the bottom-left of the page (scroll all the way down) to filter the list for your particular OS.
The Zen Media Explorer will present a hierarchical list of files on the Zen. When you navigate to a song track, select the song track and bring up the context menu (right mouse button menu) there will be an "Edit Track Properties..." menu item. This displays a dialog box that lets you modify the core ID3 tags the Zen wants to properly organize the internal library (namely Title, Genre, Album, Artist, Track No. and Year). Only those tags can be edited at present. You can't assign/modify Album Artwork this way.
