Zen Jukebox extra software nee

My pc crashed and I can not locate my CD with the required software for my Creative Zen Jukebox extra.
The software does not exist any longer on the Creative web site and have had no success email Creative Labs.
Could someone assist me in locating this software. Thanking you in advance. D. Wilkinson

Thankyou for the response.............. I have been through the steps you suggested. I get the following message
End of Service Life The product you have selected has been classified as 'End of Service Life'.

I have gone to Knowledgebase solutions and have not found the required software. I'm assuming "firmware"
is what dri'ves the actual player which I have. I have a 30G player and the firmware is not for my unit. I need
the software for the PC (xp os) to transfer music from the PC to the MP3 Player. I have tired Windows Media
Player to preform this task with no success. Thanking you again for your response.

  • Zen Jukebox Extra Problems, makes me want an IP

I have had so many problems with my Zen that i feel i would have been better off paying the extra money to purchase a **bleep** IPod! Has anyone else has as much trouble as i have had?first it just randomly craped out on me. it just froze out of nowhere and stopped wanting to connect to any computer, plus my music dissapeard. it was something wrong with the hardri've, so i sent it in and they gave me a new one.then my boyfriends computer would not recognize my Zen so i had to update the firmware so he could run his service pact programs. once the firmware was updated i had to reload all of my music that i had saved on to my boyfriends computer. while doing this i realized that half of my tag information that i had changed in the Zen organizer was WRONG because it did not change the tag info, but only the view on the Zen. Plus, the new Zen organizer that is spose to work with the new firmware was not created to except the Zen Extra so i also had to DL a seperate thing just to make it work with my Zen. Then within that new organizer i discover that they dont allow you to have the left pannel artist view in the "my jukebox" area, but only in the "my computer" area, makeing it impossible to organize the music on my zen.And now, as i was dl music today, i had to delete things by hand within my mp3 player because the computer was not recognizeing the updated tittled versions of the music i was DL. while trying to delete albums it froze. i believed it was because the battery was low, so i let it die. i came home to charge it and my mp3 player is now frozen at the EAX screen and will not turn off. I wanted to save money and not be such a corporate whore and buy a Zen. i had heard wonderful things and i saved about 200$. Now i feel that i would have saved myself alot of time, frusteration, and headaches if i had just gave in and spent the extra money to join the dark side of the evil ipods that rule our earth.comments? anyone? before i sucumb to the darkside?

Yes, the Nomad Zen Extra has given me a lot of problems, too. So many that I finally did go to the dark side and bought an IPOD. And contrary to what everyone else said, no I am not hard on the player. It has not been dropped and the case is in prestine condition. When I bought it, I had no problems for a very short time. The first thing that happened is that I couldn't move forward or backward or the thing would freeze. I would have to reset the thing to get it to turn back on. Then I had a problem with charging it. When the battery would start getting low I would plug it in over night and get up in the morning and the thing would be completely dead. I had to plug and unplug it several times and keep checking it to make sure it was charging. Then all of a sudden my computer stopped recognizing the player. I even tried to load the software on my new Dell laptop and had a lot of trouble getting the player recognized. That has been a continuing problem. After many evenings and late nights trying to get the player to work I gave up for about 8 months and bought a small IPOD for my music. I'm getting ready to take a vacation now and thought I would try to upload some ebooks to the creative since it has a larger hard dri've. But guess what? Now I'm getting the simple that indicates there is a harddisk problem. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software, installed all the updates and still nothing. Wait a minute, there is something, the symbol on the screen keeps changing from Rescue Mode to the symbol that indicates it is conected to the computer. But I try to sync it and the Rescue Mode comes back. I tried Clean-up, Fomat, Reload OS and reboot. Nothing works.
And one more thing, I'm not a computer moron either. I'm very computer literate. I'm just going to download the books to my IPAQ, my songs to my IPOD and just give up on the Zen Xtra once again!!!
I wish I hadn't wasted my money on this device!! And my IPOD works great!

  • Zen Nomad Jukebox Extra- Player stops working on airpl

OK this is weird but recently I noticed my Nomad Jukebox Extra won't work on airplanes in flight. It starts working early on but about 3 or 4 songs into the flight and it starts sketching. It jumps around on a point in the song and then quits playing the song. If I hit play the arrow appears but the timer doesn't advance- stays at 00:00. I reset the player and it doesn't help. Then if I try more I get the repair/reload OS/reboot screen. Now to make it more complicated when I land and the engines stop the player plays fine.
My thoughts : Recently I upgraded the OS to the latest version. I wonder if there could be interference from the engines or if my headphones which have a volume control are acting like an antenna and intereferring with the play. I haven't tried different headphones or seeing if the song still freezes with no phones.

Scheidhaus: I would hope that the aircraft isn't interfering with the player, and I honestly can't imagine it would. I have heard of one case before with a Nomad Jukebox that failed to work when the player was at altitude, along with another recent post here about this. All I can think is that the air pressure on the plane is a factor and is causing problems with the hard disk. Very strange though.
Have you simply tried resetting the player when you have problems? You'll need to keep a paper clip with you for this, or borrow one from the cabin crew

  • Programs for putting music on Zen Jukebox Xtra 3

I'm going to be getting a Zen Jukebox Xtra 30GB for Christmas. I have already put all of my music on my computer using Itunes. Will I be able to put my music on the Zen Xtra using ITunes or will I have to put everything back on my PC using the software that comes with the Zen Xtra?

    Poor Soul...
You will not be able to load any music to your creative device using Itunes. Your music can not even be in a Itunes nati've format (that is an issue that apple has caused by not licensing their format to others).
Unless there has been a change, your device will come with the "regular" firmware and you'll have to use creatives own software. If you want to use Windows Media Player to manage your device, you will have to update your devices firmware with the MTP compatible firmware. ::CAUTION - MANY PEOPLE HAVE LOST ALL USE OF THERE PLAYERS DOING THIS:: I happen to be a success story for the MTP firmware. I love it!!! For me, it was worth the chance.
If you decide to update your firmware, make sure you visit the windows update site and get every single update they have. Matter of fact, many updates won't even show until you have installed a previous update. So just keep going back until the site tells you MORE THAN ONCE that your OS is current. Just guessing, but I wonder if this is why so many peoples firmware updates went south.
I've had my 30gig Xtra for over a year and I am still madly in love with it. The new firmware made me fall more deeply.
    Hope that helps!

  • Problem with firmware in a Zen Jukebox 3

Well, I've got a mp3 player, a Creative Zen Jukebox with a HD of 30GB. The other day I started it and it began to re-built the music library, but it blocks in the middle of the process and shows a message: firmware problem. And here it sto
    ps.
I can not access the HD because my computer doesn't recognize it, since after the "firmware problem" it stands completely block. I've tried to download the upgrade of the firmware, and it seems to have been installed, but it stills giving me the same problem... Any idea? I'm desperate.

Can you start in Rescue Mode and do a cleanup?
There is a sticky thread showing how to do this.

  • Zen Jukebox won't cha

    Hi
Got a bit of a conundrum and was hoping someone could help. I've got an old Zen Jukebox (the USB and FireWire one - yeah I know, very old skool), which was working perfectly up to a couple of months ago. It stopped charging itself if connected to the mains. It's not the charger, as I've tried both the one that came with and the one on my Playdock.
So I'm stuck charging by USB. No biggie, though I notice you have to turn it off (rather than just letting it run out of juice) for the charge symbol to appear. However, last night I was copying some music to it and it ran out of juice. It turn it back on to try to shut it down so it will charge, and it tries to rebuild the library, but runs out of juice half way through. No charging symbol. I leave it for a few hours for the battery to 'recover a bit', but it still can't make it through the rebuild. I try loading the rescue menu and shutting down from there. No charge symbol.
So I'm stuck in a Catch 22. I need more charge in the battery to get it through the rebuild - and I need to rebuild the library to get it to charge.
Any suggestions on how to get this going again will be gratefully received.
    Neil

If the battery was flat when it was left it could well have left the battery in a state where it (a) has too low a voltage to be detected by the adapter or (b) is now broken.
See the advice here in the Zen FAQ at Nomadness.net, but beware "force charging", it can cause a battery to catch fire or explode in rare circumstances so do at your OWN RISK.

  • Installation Media for Adobe Acrobat Reader and Flash without Extra Software

Is there a Installation Media format for Adobe Acrobat Reader and Flash which does not have McAfee, Google Chrome or Google Toolbar associated with the installation?  This deployment is for a IT department.  We do not want Google Chrome, Toolbar, or McAfee installed on our workstation, and we want to prevent our users from installing them when performing the upgrades to newer versions.  We want installation media without the extra software for deployment.  Does Adobe supply these?

    Re The first Link:
Return, cancel, or exchange an Adobe order
Cancel your membership or subscription | Creative Cloud
I have done this.  I just need the refund that was mentioned on the bottom of the page that I have already cancelled on.  None of the other links on that page are relevant and none mention the word "Refund"
Re; The second link, is this a UK 0800 number or a US Number?  I am in the UK.  Will I be on hold for 32 minutes again if I ring this number?

  • Windows 2000 not supported by Zen Sleek installation softwar

I have Windows XP at home and MS 2000 at work. I was successful with the Zen Sleek installation software at home, but cannot get the sfotware to install on my work copmputer which is running Windows 2000. What's the deal? The requirements are listed as Windows 98/2000/ME/XP, but at the beginning of the installation, it stops with the message that the application will not run on this operating system.
And are there any other pitfalls to trying to run the Zen Sleek with two different operating systems? I was hoping to get my Zen Sleek to act as my MS Outlook calendar and contacts carrier when I want to travel light.

On your Windows XP computer if the Sleek is recognized as an MTP Device or you see the words MTP anywhere when it first got detected, or everytime when you connect it and a window appears with the words MTP on it, then this means that the Sleek will ONLY work on Windows XP. The software might say that it will work with 2000/98/Me, but it comes down to if the Sleek will work with those OS's.
So if you see the words MTP anywhere, then it wont work with anything but Windows XP.

  • Any USB device, compliant with USB mass storage protocol ! Does the zen jukebox nx quali

I am about to buy an otg sharing device to transfer files between two usb devices without the need for a pc. My question is does a jukebox nx qualify ? or what is it's pen dri'ves etc? ipods?

I don't think a Zen Jukebox NX would qualify; most larger Creative players require a separate driver. Pen dri'ves, most USB hard dri'ves, and MP3 players with dri've-letter capability (including nearly all MuVos plus the Zen Nano, Nano Plus, and Neeon) would certainly work; so would "removable disk" mode on the Micro, MicroPhoto, Sleek, and Zen 20GB.
I'm not sure if an iPod would work; it depends on whether its dri've-letter capability is built directly into the firmware (OK), or just exposed by the iPod drivers (no go). I don't own an iPod, so I'm not sure.

  • Nomad Zen Jukebox dead battery - where to get fixed in Phoen

I have had a Nomad Zen Jukebox for several years. Sadly, after I got another player, I let this one sit for several months and now the Li-ion battery is dead. It's one of those 3.6 v batteries soldered onto the mainboard.
I li've in Phoenix. Anyone know where I can get the battery replaced locally? How about mail-in service?
    Thanks for any assistance.

You should be aware that there are signifficant changes with upgrading ( or more apropiatly) changing your firmware version from one starting with a point somehting to a two point somehting firmware, and i would only advise you do it if you realy need to ( ie you need it to work on a windows Vista P.C)
there is a .30.somehting firmware for that player somewhere ( i think) that shouldnt be such a huge change.
goign to a 2.something firmware will:
make the Zen Xtra an MTP device that you can drag n drop stuff to, and it will also help intergrate it with other programmes such as widnows media player on p.cs that dont have the drivers ( i think)?
during the update process ( if it doesnt brick your Zen) everything on you hard dik will be completly wiped, all mucis, playlists and anny other files that you have stored on your player.
?As? with all firmware updates you should make sure that the battery is fully charged and the player is conected to the mains charger.
Updating toa ver2.something firmware is only possible on a windopws XP machine, and that XP P.C must be checked to make sure its is free from windows media player and windows media player runtim, you need to go to the control panel and select remove? on WMP then roll it back to windows media player 0, re-boot your XP p.c, then go back to add/remove programmes, remove Windows media player runtime ( roll back to windows media player ) re-boot your p.c then with a bit of luck the firmware will uipdate to the latest version.
In my opinion unless you realy want the Zen to act as an MTP device, and work on windows vista, theres not much to differentiate between the last ver firmware and the last ver2 firmware, read t6he link below ( if it still woks) and you should get an idea of the hassle i had when trying, then failing ( and eventualy suceeding) in updating the firmware on my Zen Xtra.

  • What are the extra software pieces I need to connect a Flir A325 camera via GigE?

I am going to be developing an application which includes 2 Flit A325 cameras (GigE).  The plan is to have one computer connected to the cameras with that camera computer sending messages via datasocket to the stand computer, which will have other DAQ connected to it.
What are the extra software pieces (besides regular LabVIEW) I will need on the camera computer?  IMAQdx?  Vision Module or toolkit?  I don't need automated inspection stuff.
    Thanks,
    John

    Hello John,
If you only need to acquire images from these cameras, you would just need the Vision Acquisition Software. This will provide you the NI-IMAQdx driver to take care of image acquisition from GigE cameras. If you need to do any image processing as well, such as thresholding or pattern matching, you would need the Vision Development Module.
To send images over DataSocket, you can flatten the image to a string for it to be sent to the second computer, and then unflatten it on the other end. The following knowledgebase article has information on this: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/70A5D11517DBA50C86256E6A0070E5A7?OpenDocument  . I hope this helps!

I've tried everything from installing the latest drivers, to uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling the drivers, i've pretty much exhausted everything i can think of, i lost the original CD that came with it so i've been installing the drivers by first downloading them off the nomadworld website, i've even updated my motherboard drivers, but nothing has seemed to work! if anyone could please offer me some advice on what to do, i would really appreciate it.
    Thanks -Justin

You can try editing the registry but be sure to do a backup of the registry first in case something went wrong.
. Go to Start-Run and type in 'regedit' to start the registry editor application.
    2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\U SB.
    3. Open up all those with Vid********. You should be able to see the device description name. Delete all those listings that are listed as unknown or contain Creative related device name.
    4. Exit registry editor and try using the installation CD again.

*Problems with Creative Zen V plus software Dear friends,
I'm trying to install the software included with creative Zen V Plus but it is not possible - it stops at 63%
    I get this following error:
    "CTIntrfu.dll can not be installed"

I'm using "Windows XP 2002 home edition - serivce pack 2"
    I'll appreciate any help.
At the moment my PC doen't recognize the Zen V
Sorry for my english... It's not my language.

Hey Guys,Here is a link to instructions on how How to obtain and to install USB 2.0 drivers in Windows XP Service Pack . http://support.microsoft.com/default...;EN-US;Q329632?Win2000 and later have the capability to support USB 2.0, but USB 2.0 was released after XP was release, so there weren't any drivers installed before Windows XP service pack 2. Make sure you've installed all your windows updates including service pack 2. You can check if you have SP2 by right-clicking on my computer and choosing "properties", it will say on the general tab. Also the way to tell if you have USB 2.0 drivers installed is to right-click on my choose "Manage", then choose "device manager" look down to "uni'versal serial Bus controllers" and click on the + . This will expand the USB devices. Look for the word "enchanced" (USB enhanced host controller). If you see it, then you have USB 2.0 support. If not, use the link above and get the drivers. Hope this helps!?JT

  • Zen jukebox keeps restarting itself, not sure

Ive had my zen jukebox for about a year now and I have had no problems to date. However, now it is occasionally restarting itself a few seconds after it starts playing. It does this maybe once or twice and then it will stay on. What could be the problem? I updated the firmeare and defragged it thinking it might be becasue I put a **bleep**load of music on at once but it still happens. Could there be a button combination that I keep hitting by accident that restarts the player? Kind of off topic, but is there a way to convert AC3 audio(realplayer files) so they can be put on my player? Thanks in advance.
    Matt

Did you try starting your player on ac supply( charger ) ?Remove the battery and try using the charger to power the player's operations. Two cases are possible-
. PROBLEM REMAINS - hardware issue. I don't know if we could rectify the fault in player's hardware. The fault may lie with the restart switch or something else.
    2. PROBLEM DISAPPERS- If the 'restart' problem disappears, then we know for sure that the battery is the culprit. Replace the battery and check?if it'sfits the slot properly.
?? Finally, if the battery fails to budge, you?may consider buying a new one. You may even try out a cellphone battery( rating- 3.6 V, minimum 00 mAH, which is an industry standard?). Try the following radioshack link if you want to buy a?genuine zen xtra?one. I'm quite sure they must be taking adequate care in safely transporting it.
    http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...entPage=search?
?p.s.- even after running so many tests, there's no guarantee that the battery?may be at fault. This being the case,?the new battery would be no good. So i would recommend showing the player to an electronics store and get an opinion before you make a move. ?
    Good Luck..

  • Zen jukebox Xtra hard case/cassette adapt

    Hi there-
I just got my Zen jukebox Xtra and I'm really enjoying it so far.
There are two things I'd really like. A hard case to protect it and a cassette adapter, so I can use it in the car. When I looked for accessories here at the Creative site, all I saw was an adapter for the larger model. Can that be used for my version?
Also, does anyone have a hard case and what brand/where did you get it's
Thanks so much for the help!

I'm about 75% sure the casette adapter at the creative store will work with the Zen Xtra... if not, any other brand will work as long as you can plug it into the headphone jack. I use the one that came with my old Sony Walkman, and it works flawless.
As for a hard case, I found the case that came with the Xtra to be hard enough for my needs. This is the one that came with my Xtra.
There aren't many other cases out there for the Xtra. Vaja cases makes one, but it will cost you around $60.
