Zen Micro 1 G pla

My Zen Micro will not accept a download of a book 2 mb when there is another book on it of only 4 mb. I did a reset with the paperclip and it still will not accept another book, a message comes up saying there isn't enough room, when there must be lots. On checking my file I have a zip file that says Zen Micro P45_L6.2.2.02.exe Jukebox Firmware Upgrade Application Version 2.2.2.0 29/04/07 2.32mb. I do not remember why I had downloaded this zip file and I likely did put it on my player, but does anyone know what it is for and do you think it would solve my present problem. I don't remember ever having any problem with my player before, it always worked well. There are no upgrades on the Creative site as they do not support the Zen Micro any longer and yet it has been a great little player. I am using WMP 0. My problem actually started when I bought another Creative Player (Zen V) and it's program?downloaded WMP onto my computer and my Zen Micro is not compatible with WMP (so the message said) so I put WMP 0 back on hoping it would now work, but it doesn't. I then did a system restore back to Jun 9 and that didn't work either.
I like to take several books with me when travelling and it is very annoying that I can't get any more books on my player. Would appreciate any advice.

I recently bought a used "Zen Micro 5gb". The player came with ..0 version but it has a battery draining problem. I fully charge the player via usb. When i open it (some time after the battery is full), one bar of battery indicator has already gone and although i disable the EQ and Smart Volume functions i can listen to music for only 6 hours. i read in the forums that i should install the ..0 firmware. Why this version doesn't solve my problem. What should i do? Can 2.2.02 firmware help?
It might - but there is the possibilty that the battery is just wearing out and needs to be replaced

    Hello
I have a ZEN micro mp3 player and a Laptop wich runs windows Vista with SP.
At the moment i am in Finland and the software disc is in Holland so that's why i can't install the normal way.
When i try to instal either firmware or other software/drivers it keeps saying my player is not connected.
I used both front and back USB ports and also connected the player to a different laptop with windows XP but it was the same.
    Pleas help me, Thanks

    @lllaass
I see now that i have an ipod 2. I will have to point that out to the Apple guy.
itunes says I have 6.6GB (of 6.8) in audio. I have only aobout 300 songs and nothing else. I took 3+GBs off the audios when this all started and it Still says I have 6GB audio - did not even see the change.
And - even the ipod itself (setting, about, capacity) says I only have 5 MB free. (which was why I thought it might be the OS)
Other is a mere 0.22 GB.
And it still won't let me add anything even though I took off 3.3 GB (and was playing all those various audios just fine until this started on Sunday when I tried to add an album).
    I ran across this thread - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2574693?start=0&tstart=0
apparently it is an old problem (for some people on their iphones or ipads) and no one has an answer. Thus my stopping in at Apple today and I guess I'll need to go back. Online they don't want to talk to me without payment as the ipod is not under warrenty now. But this really seems to be doing something Apple is doing wrong and not fixing. It's turned my $250 ipod into a useless thing.
Sorry to rant - very frustrated....

  • Anatomy of Creative's Zen Micro Audio Pla

This is link to interesting in hardware it contain anatomy of zen microhttp://www.hardwarezone.com/articles...id=9&id=33&pg=?

I do remember now seeing one other post somewhere on this forum about someone having a similar problem but I belei've only with wma files. I have both wma and mp3 files on my player and am not altogether certain if I have ever experiemced this with mp3s - I have definitely experienced it with wma files.
It would be nice if someone from Creative could respond to this thread. Maybe the problem is simply not being experienced by many Micro owners, maybe it is limited to wma files only? I don't know, but I do know that with out some understanding, explanation, or possible firmware upgrade to address this issue, I feel returning the player is my only option.

  • Zen micro mp3 pla

    Hi everyone.
Im about to buy a , but i need to know one thing.
I would just like to know if songs that i have on my computer that i downloaded from p2p will transfer to a .
PS: Edited to remove service name. Please do not post service name of p2p software.Message Edited by Jason-CL on 05-7-2005 02:25 PM

Downloading copyright material over P2P is illegal, so it depends on what you're downloading. P2P isn't inherently illegal per se.
Also it depends what format you're downloading. The formats supported by the Micro and MP3 and WMA (not Pro or lossless).

  • Creative Labs Zen Micro Mp3 Pla

My player is stuck on the Creative screen--tried the reboot process and get nothing--is there a way to reboot other than taking the battery out and replacing while holding the on off switch--Please Help!

loading time? do you mean the time it takes to recharge? on USB i think it's around 3-4hrs. i bought the AC adapter recently, i love it. it was around 25$ at walmart and that cuts the charge time by around /2 or so. you can also run it on AC without the battery so it'll last you longer.

  • Experience w/ Zen Micro 6GB MP3 Pla

The 6GB version of Zen Micro has been out... If you have purchased one, can you please provide me your experience with the new player? I am interesting on whether Creative has fixed some known issues with the 5GB player such as head phone jack.. Also, is there any difference between 6GB and 5GB?

I just received the 6 Gb Zen Micro 3 days ago from Creative. It fired up with no problems, and connected as expected with the pc running XP SP2. The Creative software for the computer looks like a mess, Windows Media player 0 is much more intuiti've and works well with the Zen. So far so good. Synching with Outlook is the next challenge.
Lack of accessories is my only sore point. No belt clip is a problem for the gym. Right now the Zen is jammed in an IPod neoprene jacket with a circular cutout that my daughter decided wasn't cool enough for her. Maybe I'll resort to making a case from an Altoids tin like I saw in another forum.
    Greg.
PS: If ordering from creative, tell them to put some packing between the Zen box and the shipping box. Mine was rattlling around in a box that was about "x 4".

  • Zen Micro battery won't charge, can't turn on MP3 pla

    Hey guys,
I;ve bought a Creative Zen Micro 5GB, 3 weeks ago and it was working GREAT...until now. I was using it one night until the battery completely drained off and the Zen Micro turned off by itself. The icon "LOW BATTERY" flashed for a few seconds and the unit basically shuts down.
I tried to plug-in the USB 2.0 cable provided by Creative into a PC USB 2.0 port
. the MP3 player wouldn't start up. The blue light glowed, followed up by the intro 'Creative' screen and then it died off. That happens everytime i plugged the unit into a USB port.
    2. On the upper right screen on the unit, it showed that power is supplied by the USB port (battery + electric symbol flashing), but the battery wouldn't charge up and I can't turn it on either
    My questions are:
    a) Since the battery is dead flat, wont the unit still run/function normally if its plugged to a PC USB2.0 port?
    b) Why does my Zen Micro die off a few seconds after it's been plugged on to USB?
    c) Can't the PC USB power supply charge up my MP3 player battlery?
    Please help,
    Cheers.
    JJ

I'm having the same problem, but in my case i didn't run out of battery, i used it last friday and it showed it had one bar left of battery, this morning (monday) i wanted to use it and it wouldnt turn on. I came to my office where i have my usb cable and plugged it in. and it shows like its chargin but it wont charge and wont turn on.
I will try woith the AC adaptor when i get home. But it looks weird... anybody else had/has the same problem and fixed it's?
I need help, this is the second Zen micro i have, the first one came defecti've so i returned it.

  • Zen Micro Firmware loader won't recognize pla

I used recovery mode to erase the firmware. Now I can connect via USB to Windows, which looks fine, and even the player thinks it's connected. But the loader programs gives an error indicating the player is not connected. I have reloaded the driver a few times and even tried a differnet computer.. no luck. so I have what appears to be a functioning player that doesn't do anything. very frustrating

Sounds exactly like my problem, frustrating as hell. I have tried various tricks outlined on other posts, such as
    - unloading the XP drivers before trying to update firmware
    - reloading the XP drivers before trying to update firmware
    - attempting to install drivers for version firmware, no luck, the device presumably thinks it has version 2 firmware and so XP will ony treat it as such
    - setting the USB permissions in the registry for Everyone to full & read
    - installing all updates for Creative Zen Micro Media Explorer and Creative Zen Micro Media Source
    - using updates from WindowsMedia-KB8922-x86 and WindowsMedia0-KB902344-x86-INTL.exe.
but as yet I have had no luck ;-(
I have emailed tech suport, but would obviously love to hear if you solved your issue and if so, how. I'll obviously post details re any successful outcome here as well.
    Cheers

Although not for the same purpose I have answered at full on what you could do to if your PC can't see your micro.
First of all try All three recovery options in the order presented:
    Clean up
Format (ok, you said you already formated but whatever)
    Reload Firmware
If you still can't see it then follow the advices at this thread:
    Hope this hel

Strange that WMP doesn't detect it, presumably you have v0? Worth checking the link "problems with connecting using MTP firmware" in the FAQ post and installing the hot fixes.
Also make sure you have the latest software with MTP updates, by downloading and installing the following:
    . Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2
    2. Creative MediaSource Plugin for PlaysForSure devices
    3. Creative Zen Micro Media Explorer Web Update
Before installing connect the player to the PC. Then install 2 and 3 (the player must be connected for to verify you have a Creative product).

Ha ha ha! Sucess at last!
    I got it working now!
I was missing a step in the second suggestion (link posted by DM) to edit the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\U SB and add "EVERYONE." Plus I didn't reboot right away! I guess that would help too. Sorry forgot to do that.
THANK YOU! The support on this fourm is wonderful! Glad to see the help is here for Creative products.

  • Zen Micro won't recoginze in XP

Today, for the first time in months, I connected my Zen Micro to my computer to transfer music files, and to my suprise, it would not recoginize it. The "Add New Hardware" wizard popped up to help me, and I said for it to install the drivers, and forwhatever reason, it could not. So I inserted the disk that came with it and installed all the neccessary software, restarted, and got the same results.
I am working with a less than week old Windows XP SP3 clean install, so i can't install WMP0, but I do have 9 and avaible to me. My Zen Micro's firmware is version 2.20.05, which I have read has corrupt files, and I have all the utitles installed, inculding the newest jukebox drivers, downloaded off of this site. I am not afraid to format my MP3 player or update the firmware. I just need Windows to recoginize it.

No, the link still doesn't work, cause I keep getting 500 errors redirects, but I did find the files you wanted me to download. And I installed them. And I found out I already had them installed. So I opened Media Source only to find that the MP3 player was not listed. All you gave me was a plugin for the packaged media player that came with the MP3 player, which I really do not care to use. This will only work if Windows can mount the MP3 player. At which point, I would rather use Windows Explorer to manage the music files.
I don't know if you understand this, but the MP3 plaer is being dected, but not being mounted. After some peeking around on other sites, other users are having similar problems as me. It seems that there is a corrupt file in the firmware that prevents the driver from recoginizing it.
The link the the article can be found here:
    http://www.fixya.com/support/t36009-creative_zen_micro_not_recognized
Oh, and btw, what browser are you using? cause I tested the link in both Firefox and IE7, both to no avial.

  • Zen Micro - transfer lock ups with latest firmwa

I've been trying to transfer mp3 files to my firmware upgraded Zen Micro and find that the transfer slows down and then locks the player after 30-40 files have successfully copied. This happens with ..0 and 2.2.02 firmwares.
The player will then remain in a 'acti've' docked state (black arrows) until the battery is removed. After this lock up tags on the mp3 files are messed up and display Chinese looking characters in the Details View.
This happens on two different computers with USB2.0, one Intel based and the other AMD.
Two questions - anyone know if this is a known issue being worked on for an imminent firmware update? And secondly - is the problem aggravated (or even created) because I am trying to copy files over from a directory tree (mp3's sorted into artist/album/ folders) rather than one flat folder with all mp3s in it (ie. in one single folder).

I'd try transferring fewer files at a time and see if that works.
You might be on to something with copying from a directory tree too. See if transferring the files in smaller groups from one folder helps out.
You can always organize the artists/albums later in Zen Micro Media Explorer or Creative MediaSource.
