Zen Micro has died and I need to fix it myse

Hi,
I was using my Zen Micro one particular morning for a couple of hours (full battery) where everything was working perfectly. Later that afternoon I attempted to turn it on but nothing happened, not a single thing. Nothing lit up, I couldn't hear the HDD sound either. I thought at first it could be the battery, so when I got home I tried running it from the charger with and without the battery, both times nothing happened.
Under normal circumstances my first course of action would be to simply to get a replacement however I don't believe that will be possible as I voided the warranty recently by fixing the infamous jack problem. I fixed it myself because getting a replacement seems futile as all Zen Micro's continue to have the same design flaw.
Does anyone have any idea why my Zen has completely died on me?
Any chance I can I get a replacement?
Can any of you tell me how I could possibly fix it myself (I take full responsibility if anything breaks)?Message Edited by mark_s on -0-2005 2:05 AM

Hey, I had my zen micro for a long time since aug 9 and yesterday it broke down on me. Somehow I can't play anything. When I turn it on, it freezes and doesn't go to the menu. I tried using the recovery mode and clean it up but it froze again.
I don't know how i'm going to send it back to the factury to repair it. My micro was previously repaired like two weeks ago. The bad news is that sending back the my micro requires the reciet, but I have given it to them before and I was sure that they would give it back, but no. So how can I send it back without a reciet.

    Java is no longer included in Mac OS X by default. If you want Java, you will have to install it.
    However, note that you should think twice before installing Java for such a trivial need as looking at stock market quotes. There are other ways to get that information that don't involve Java, and using Java in your web browser is a HUGE security risk right now. Java has been vulnerable to attack almost constantly for the last year, and has become a very popular, frequently used method for getting malware installed via "drive-by downloads." You really, truly don't want to be using it. See:

    Okay. Recently the EDID function of my monitor has stopped, but because Windows keeps a local version of my EDID, I have the .bin file with the info needed, and I need to point X to it, but I can't find anything on Google that sheds any light on the subject.
    Halp!

  • PB has died and I need to return it ...but how?

    My one year warranty is almost up and my PB has recently died. There is no power whatsoever.  I have tried (in vain) to contact blackberry support and playbook support to find out how I return my PB to either have it fixed or replaced.  I have emailed [email protected] just a few minutes ago too and am waiting for them to respond. Hopefully they won't tell me to buzz off as the other two "help" desks did.
    Has anyone had to return their PB to RIM? If so, how did you do that and can you direct me to where the details are on doing that?

    Likely, the battery is extremely drained and needs charging.
    LEAVE it connected to the wall outlet charger (not the USB > PC charger).
    Leave it connected for 24 hours... every 3-5 hours, press and hold the power button only for about 20 seconds. Eventually it will boot on up, but first must reach a certain charge level.
    You will see the blinking red and perhaps yellowish LED light, and perhaps a symbol on screen of "no battery". That means the battery is drained, but it must reach a certain charge before powering on.
    Email "[email protected]" is a dead end, it only directly you back here and other options such as calling your mobile provider support, which does not apply to the Playbook.

    Your iPod is designed to sync with only one iTunes library at a time.  It will recognize the iTunes library on the new PC as a new library.  If you sync the iPod with this new library, all content will be erased from the iPod and replaced with what is in the new library.  So what you will want to do is copy everything from the iPod to your new iTunes library on your PC first.

    There are data recovery companies in most major cities, the rule is that if money is no object, they will be happy to talk to you.
    A typical dead hard drive recovery in the US is about $1000.
    This is why backups are so important, if you're not backing up your data in AT LEAST one additional location then paying for them to recover the data is what you will have to do, after all if the data is that important, then it's worth that kind of money.

    My computer has died and I've had to by a new one. I have a creative cloud account registered under my email <Removed by Moderator> for both Photoshop CC and Lightroom 5 which I pay for via Direct Debit.
    I no longer have the Creative Cloud app but downloaded both programs to my new iMac. Photoshop works fine but Lightroom is still on trial purchase and asks for serial number. My account page on your site has no record of my CC account and shows no serial number for my purchased products. (It only lists a previous purchase of Lightroom-4)
    How can get the serial numbers to my purchased products when they don't appear on my account settings on your website. Do I need to close my account a open a new one?

    I pay £8.57 for my Creative Cloud purchases of both Photoshop CC and
    Lightroom-5 via my Barclays Bank Account to Adobe in Ireland. The last
    payment was 13 Aprii 2015. Two weeks ago.
    Now I have a new computer. I can sign into my Creative Cloud but it says I
    have a 'Creative Cloud free account' as I'm using trial versions. I do not
    have a redemption code as I must of lost it when my old computer died. I
    can get online so that is not an issue.
    When I sign in to my account the Creative Cloud products do not appear
    under my purchases so I cannot view serial numbers or change the credit
    card I pay with. It seems that your website and my account section do not
    know I am making regular monthly payments for CC.
    If you check I am actually making the payments as I describe can you please
    let me have my serial numbers.

    If the hard drive that crashed is the one that stored the itunes library, be sure to restore the library from Time Machine (mac) or whatever backup you use on windows.  That will get back your music.  I suspect that the replacement drive has an empty itunes library and thus, perhaps, the itunes match used that to sync to its servers.
    Try posting in the iTunes Match forum, you'll probably find more knowledgeable folks there.

    Zen micro has a possibility to change the startup picture, doesn't it's In the creative mediasource there is an option Change the startup picture (below EAX settings) but it's not acti've, I mean you can't do anything with it. I would love to change the Creative animation for something else but I don't know how, it's just the same with the EAX settings.

    No, you can't change the startup screen on the Micro. It is greyed out in MediaSource, because this software is also used for players that CAN change the startup screen.
    And indeed, as bloodangel05 says, the Micro has no EAX

    zen micro has stoped working will not turn on .when you put battery in all that happens is creative copyright screen comes on nothing else happens and it will not go into rescue mode help!!!

    Are you sure ur doing resuce mode right?
    ) Take Out Battery
    2) Hole power switch down (keep holding it to on postition)
    3) insert battery
    4) Let go of power button.
    then try disk clean up, formate and finally if worse comes to worse relod os..if non of those work then send it back

  • HP Sprinter show error while running new rest as "An error has occured and Sprintet needs to close."

    Hi All, 
    I have installed and prepared one Data Injection scenario and then have Run the test couple of times and then closed Sprinter. Then I create another Data Inject test and "DataInjextExample.xls" and have added it in "Add Data Set". 
    When i execute this new Data Inject Test, it shows me error with referance to a data field ('Full name of first or sole applicant") from earlier Test's Excel data sheet where as I have alreadty removed DataSet referance from the "Add Data Set". 
    Error message:
    An error has occured and Sprintet needs to close. " type does not have property named 'Full name of first or sole applicant", so cannot dort data collection.
     Please see the following error and help me with possible solution.

    Hi, Once you launch Sprinter, make sure the Sprinter Agent is running.
    Now go to the Notification area and uncheck the option which says "Start Sprinter Agent when Computer Starts"
    Click on Reset.
    Restart the computer and start working on HP Sprinter.

    I have the same problem.  It says trial is expired, so I select the "sign in now" button.  After sign in, it comes up with a place to enter a serial number.  The only two other options are "back" and "next".
