Zen micro keypad wont res

yeah so i was using it just fine, i turned it off went to bed ect.. when i woke up i wanted to bring it to school so i turned it on to make sure it was charged, it turned on, i tried to shut it off.. no response... i tried all the buttons none will do anything at all, so i took out the battery and put it back in it turned on by itself and went to the same screen but still cant do anything, i went to the recovery menu or w/e it is called, cant move up or down so its worthless... any one had this problem or no how to fix it's?

I am not familiar with the Zen Micro, but I am going to assume it has a reset button? You may want to try that, if you haven't already. It sounds like you have a freezing problem with yours, as do I with my Vision: M. When it does I just hit reset and it usually comes back with all songs and is still functional.

    I recently bought a Zen Micro for a 2 week long vacation I was going on. I got it home and fully charged it like everyone says to do the first to you charge, and during the vacation i tried to charge it with my dad's laptop via the usb ports. I noticed once that it had one little line on the battry icon, so i plugged it in, and when i came back 4+ hours later, it hadnt charged at all, which mad me mad because the very first time I charged it it only took around 2-3 hours to fully charge it. What I am wonderin is if there couldve been some way I damaged the battery so it wont charge? If so what kind of warranty does this have? i'm so mad because i had around 50 songs on it already and about 0 playlists set up. any help would be appreciated, thnx

    well my brother got a zen micro photo for his birthday yesterday, so in the evening we tried to start putting music on it and it wont even connect. i have windows with service pack 2, windows media player 0, and the micro explorer. now when i connect it to the computer it wont even start charging :/ and the explorer says its not connected, plz help

    a way to make windows detect it is too try and run add hardware wizrd in controlpanel also if u make theplayer gointo recovermode then connect it to ur pc windows USUallydetects it as a plaer in recue mode i think well try if u dont know how toget there i think that u hold down the play/pause button er i mean first take out the batery and then hold down the play/pause botton while u plug the usb into ur pc and i think itll go into recovery mode and windwosshould detect it then and thats when you caninstall the firmware using the executable file and if something goes wrong try it again and usually itll work

    okay, creative explorer picks it up. I can put music on it and everything but it doesn't charge! This is getting really bad. My Bat is already dead and i can't charge it. This is my second faulty zen micro photo in less the 7 days! Any reason why it wouldnt be charging? help would be greatly appreciated(<--spelling)

    Won't charge? Can be a couple of reasons.
    - There should be a blue pulsating light when charging and the flash icon should appear at the batt icon.
    - The batt itself, player or even the USB cable may be faulty.
    - The USB cable is not plugged in correctly.
    If these 3 are not the cause, bring it back to the store and have them do a direct charging simulation for you.

Where as before when leaving explorer my player would undock, now it just stays docked and I am afraid to remove it from the USB.   • ZEN MICRO, USB wont recognize the device

    Hello, I recently bought a Zen Micro, and I plugged it in via the usb cable, and installed the drivers for it. After installing the drivers, I clicked on Zen Micro Media Explorer, and it said to please plug in your zen micro. The player functions, I can go through the menus and things, but my usb will not recognize the device.. HELP? I also went on the site and got the latest drivers.     what i did when I first got my zen micro, as the instructions said, to insert the installation CD and install everything before plugging in the zen micro.
    maybe you can try deleting everything, then reinstalling the software from the installation CD then plug in your micro to see if that works...

    i tried formatting it i tried cleaning it i tried to reload the firmware but i cant reload it if it wont recognize

    What do you mean it won't 'recognize' ?
    Do you mean the PC won't recognize it's
    If so, make sure you aren't running WMP.
    Make sure you have the latest drivers.
    You can try to reinstal the Zen software from your instalation CD.
    Try to plug it to another PC IF available.
    If not, contact costumer support by email or by phone.

  • Zen micro firmware wont inst

    im having a firmware problem. I downloaded the firmare and tried to install on my player but when the player gets to the reboot part of the download the download stops and freezes. when the player is restarted after the download it only goes to the screen that says creative and wont go any further. HELP ME PLEASE this is my third player have nothing but trouble with everything from the headphone connection to the screen not being visible.

    I'm having the same problem. Mine has frozen at the Creative screen and today I sent a message to Tech Support (states response time is about 24 hours). There's a link on the website for troubleshooting problems with MP3 players. Just click on that and go through their troubleshooting. At the end of that, it will ask if that helped or not, if it didn't click on no which will lead you to the screen to send an email to Tech Support.

    It seems like a basic factory defect with your touchpad to me...
    I'd contact the Creative Customer Support to get the player fixed or replaced... If its still under the warranty you would only have to pay the minimal shipping cost to send it back to creative... They would pay the rest...
    Head to the Warranty / Returns page that is under the main support part of the site, it should have all the info you need about contacting customer support...

    I have a 3 month old Zen Micro 5GB. All is working but i am starting to notice a trend in my player that when ever I fill it up to 75%-00% capacity; my player would stop interfacing my computer (the computer wont recognise it is connected). I usually use the Zen Micro Explorer and Winamp5.2. The problem would go away if only i reformat my Zen Micro's hard dri've.. Is there anyway that I can make it better with out reformatting.

    I tried to send an email to creative but was denied since my product was purchased over a year ago, and it dosnt look like im going to get the help i need here so i give up.
    Creative wins, they get my hard earned money in exhange for a defecti've piece of **bleep** i havent been able to get working satisfactoraly since i got it and am now forced to replace...
    Before purchasing one of their mp3 players i thought so highly of creative. I usually am more careful before making such a purchase but I, as many others, had trust in this company renowned for its sound cards. Even after the purchase i just told myself "a company like creative wont let this product sit with crappy firmware for long, they'll update it and it will be a great player" So instead of returning it when i should have a sat on it, and my dreams never materialized and now im stuck with a paperweight that wont install any firmware now because of a known issue with their product!

    can anyone help ? i have 2 new zen micros , charged both , one turned on is working fine. the other displayed creative zen micros corparation, and thats all it will do . wont turn off .i have to take the battery out. put it does the same thing . now the screen is just blank

    Go into rescue mode and run a disk cleanup.
    If this won't work the player is faulty and you need to get it replaced.

    What site did you buy it from? You should be able to print off a valid receipt, as long as it's not an auction site like eBay.
