Hi everyone.

I would just like to know if songs that i have on my computer that i downloaded from p2p will transfer to a .
PS: Edited to remove service name. Please do not post service name of p2p software.Message Edited by Jason-CL on 05-7-2005 02:25 PM

Downloading copyright material over P2P is illegal, so it depends on what you're downloading. P2P isn't inherently illegal per se.
Also it depends what format you're downloading. The formats supported by the Micro and MP3 and WMA (not Pro or lossless).

  • PC does not see my ZEN micro mp3 pla

    Hello
I have a ZEN micro mp3 player and a Laptop wich runs windows Vista with SP.
At the moment i am in Finland and the software disc is in Holland so that's why i can't install the normal way.
When i try to instal either firmware or other software/drivers it keeps saying my player is not connected.
I used both front and back USB ports and also connected the player to a different laptop with windows XP but it was the same.
    Pleas help me, Thanks

    @lllaass
I see now that i have an ipod 2. I will have to point that out to the Apple guy.
itunes says I have 6.6GB (of 6.8) in audio. I have only aobout 300 songs and nothing else. I took 3+GBs off the audios when this all started and it Still says I have 6GB audio - did not even see the change.
And - even the ipod itself (setting, about, capacity) says I only have 5 MB free. (which was why I thought it might be the OS)
Other is a mere 0.22 GB.
And it still won't let me add anything even though I took off 3.3 GB (and was playing all those various audios just fine until this started on Sunday when I tried to add an album).
    I ran across this thread - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2574693?start=0&tstart=0
apparently it is an old problem (for some people on their iphones or ipads) and no one has an answer. Thus my stopping in at Apple today and I guess I'll need to go back. Online they don't want to talk to me without payment as the ipod is not under warrenty now. But this really seems to be doing something Apple is doing wrong and not fixing. It's turned my $250 ipod into a useless thing.
Sorry to rant - very frustrated....

  • Creative Labs Zen Micro Mp3 Pla

My player is stuck on the Creative screen--tried the reboot process and get nothing--is there a way to reboot other than taking the battery out and replacing while holding the on off switch--Please Help!

loading time? do you mean the time it takes to recharge? on USB i think it's around 3-4hrs. i bought the AC adapter recently, i love it. it was around 25$ at walmart and that cuts the charge time by around /2 or so. you can also run it on AC without the battery so it'll last you longer.

  • Creative Zen Micro MP3 - BIGGEST piece of junk I ever bough

I bought a Zen Micro MP3 player about a year and a half ago. For the last few months I was having trouble with the headphone jack. It became loose on the circuit board that it's attached to. All I need is a new circuit board and the unit will work fine.
I contacted the company and they told me that they dont sell parts to the public. Then they told me to call their "Creative Tutor" telephone number in order to diagnose the problem and also to be able to get an estimate and to be able to send it in for servicing. In other words, it has to cost you $2.99 to get an estimate of the cost to repair the unit and also pay that in order to be able to send the unit in for servicing.
At this point, with all the problems that they are having with the headphone jack in this unit, dont you think they, (the company and their tech support center) would know what the problem is ? Also, why should we have to pay a service charge in order to be able to send the unit back for servicing ? This is ridiculous !!!!!!
Unless the company want to acknowledge the fact that their units are defecti've and make some sort of decent arrangement with the consumers that purchased them, I will NEVER buy another one of their products and suggest the same to all my friends and business associates.
The purchase of this MP3 player is the biggest waste of money that I ever had. I paid over $200 for it and the unit it totally worthless at this point. Thank you Creative for being there for us !!!!!
    Robertg34

I have EXACTLY the same problem. In fact I posted it just 2 days ago under the thread "I will never buy Creative again" and they removed my post after 24 hours. Guess they don't like critizism. The guy actually blamed the user for not following their recomended procedure of only using and armband or a beltclip and that it was the customers fault for putting it their "pocket". Nice to alienate your customer base. The service tech told me that the manual tells you this, which is BS because the company supplies a NECKSTRAP for the love of...so if the headphone jack is so weak it can't be used outside an armband of a beltclip why supply a neckstrap?!
When all was said and done it would cost a MINIMUM of 00 bucks to fix it and closer to 25 with the stupid 2.99 cost to diagnose....great deal for a 89.00 player. This is the worse customer service ploy I've ever heard. Even if the thing is out of warrenty, I've had it about a year, at least fix it for a reasonable price since it is a well documented problem. A problem the tech denied.
I work for a large Hollwood company that gave out Ipods as Christmas gifts last year to our clients. The company gave out close to 500. I was going to recommend the Creatives for next year but guess how likely that is?

  • Are zen micro mp3s compatible from any downloading prog

Are creative zen micros mp3 players compatible with music from any downloading program.
p.s what do you think is nicer the black zen micro or the sli'ver i can't make my mind up.

. Most pay per song programs are DRM WMA. Which is compatibal with the zen micro (May be with others im not sure because i only have the zen micro). If you download music then you will get it (most likely) in Mp3 form which also works with The zen micro. However itunes uses ACC which is not compatibel but im sure you can convert the music into normal mp3 (not sure how). So chances are your music will work with the zen micro (unless u use OGG vorbis or something weird like that)
    2. I have a silver Zen Micro--Looks more professional and cool.

This same thing is happening to everyone I know who has a Zen Micro. Even me. I asked Creative about it and they said just return in to it's vendor or send it in for repair/return.

  • Anatomy of Creative's Zen Micro Audio Pla

This is link to interesting in hardware it contain anatomy of zen microhttp://www.hardwarezone.com/articles...id=9&id=33&pg=?

I do remember now seeing one other post somewhere on this forum about someone having a similar problem but I belei've only with wma files. I have both wma and mp3 files on my player and am not altogether certain if I have ever experiemced this with mp3s - I have definitely experienced it with wma files.
It would be nice if someone from Creative could respond to this thread. Maybe the problem is simply not being experienced by many Micro owners, maybe it is limited to wma files only? I don't know, but I do know that with out some understanding, explanation, or possible firmware upgrade to address this issue, I feel returning the player is my only option.

  • ZEN MICRO MP3 Worst experience, poor (cheap) quality, poor customer servi

<SPAN><FONT face=Arial>I purchased to Creative Zen MP3 players (the 5GB model). Within the first use the battery life did not exceed more than an hour for both players. Within the first two months the sound quality deteriorated and within the next few months both players ceased to function. One no longer turns on and the other does not play any sound. I then tried to contact Creative which is the first company I have ever come to encounter that does not provide 800 assistance to their buyers nor their buyers within their one year warranty. This has become a complete hassle and 00% dissatisfaction purchase. I have spoken to other friends who have also purchased a Creative product and they too are completely dissastified with their purchases and wish they never purchased one either. The word of mouth is the strongest weapon against companies like Creative who treat their consumers poorly with the quality and poor level of service. Please be sure to let anyone you know of this matter and not to purchase a Creative because they will in return be stuck with poor customer service and poor quality merchandise.
<SPAN><FONT face=Arial>I am absolutely disgusted with the level of service I have received from Creative. I am absolutely tired of waiting anywhere between -5 days to receive a response for my inquiries on my warranty. On top of that they claim because the serial number is manufactured out of the one year warranty that I no longer am entitled to receiving my one year warranty. I believe this is absolutely absurd because when a product is manufactured it is not immediately sold to a consumer; it takes time before it is purchased. My warranty is not supposed to expire until December of next year but the representati'ves from Creative are claiming because the serial number is not within the one year that I am no longer entitled to my one year warranty. The documentation that Creative provides for the one year warranty does not state anywhere in its print that the buyer is responsible for anything more the first year, it does not state that a receipt should be held onto for months in the case that Creative cannot locate it's own information properly. I feel as if this is completely fraudulent to claim that the manufactured date is the date that should be held accountable versus the date that the product was scanned. That should be the company responsibility to have that accurate information, not the buyers.
    <SPAN><FONT face=Arial>
<SPAN><FONT face=Arial>My recommendation is to just go with Apple Ipods. I have heard they have great customer service who put their trust in the customer and have a quick turn around rate. Creative customer service quality is indescribable and wretched, and the turn around rate is way over 48hrs with no 800 number provided or only provided to a select amount of customers or you have to pay.

I must agree with Isoltani. I do not think that the products are particularly bad, but it sure does seem like they could come up with some better customer support. You guys act like just because they have a customer service period we should be satisfied, but that's not good business. If I own a company, especially a company related to electronics, I know that to be successful I need good CS. This company relies on people like the people that post on this thread to answer %90 percent of the customer's needs, which is kind of sad. The only reason that I can see for this company being successful at all in the portable media area is because they develop an ok product at an ok price, which is good I guess, but people don't realize the poor customer service until after they buy, which completely kills any of their future sales for the potential customers who have problems. The fact of the matter is that the CS of creative is very poor and should not be acceptable to those in charge at the company.

  • Creative micro mp3 pla

i am trying to download driver for my mps player it is the red creative micro 2004 i have windows vista and it says not supported can any one help me resolve this

You did not say if it is MicroPhoto or the black&white(just micro) any way I would say you need to update your firmware to plays for sure. It would be easiest to do the forware update on an XP machine if one is available. 2.2.02 is the firmware needed to make it useable on a Vista machine with windows media player . The firmware listed above is for the Micro not the MicroPhoto That firmware # is.3.0(for microPhoto) Read the requirements first you may NOT be able to update the firmware using a Vista OS ?? http://support.creative.com/downloads/welcome.aspx?

  • Help with ripping mixed cd to zen micro pla

New at this, my friend made me a mixed cd that is already tracked. I want to rip the cd into my zen micro mp3 player. After I rip it into my player will it pause after every track or will it play through the whole mixed cd. Can anyone explain to me step by step on how to do this. Thanks, Fernando

You can rip the CD using various programs, including Creative's MediaSource.
Once on the Micro you just queue the album on the player, make sure the play mode is set to normal, then it will play the tracks in sequence.
If there's any part of this that you need more detail on then post back.

  • A way how to fix the Zen Micro head phone jack prob

Hi! I am one of the many people that purchased a Zen Micro MP3 player, I loved it until around 6 months of use, an audio shorting problem with the head phone jack, started to repeat it's self every time, that I would plug my head phone's into the Zen Micro head phone jack. After awhile, I was tired of this problem, so I just decided to never use it again, unless I could find out if the maker of the Zen Micro had a repair service. I noticed that some people had their Micro's replaced a few times under the warranty that is included with the player. I also noticed that some one created a way to fix this problem, but I wanted to see if I could find an easier way to fix the problem. Well I did end up finding an easier way to fix the problem, this is what I did.
Absolutely in all means I can't be held responsible / reliable for any unforseen thing / things, that you may or could, do to the Zen Micro, by following the instructions, which I provided. By trying what I did by following the instructions, which I provided you; you accept all responsibility to any thing / things, that may or could happen to the Zen Micro.
    The Instructions:
I took a stapler pressed it down to get a used staple then I carefully inserted it in the outer part of the plastic head phone jack ring. Then I pressed the rest of the staple flat against the Zen micro. And Now I get great sound, it is at least better than, the way it was before I inserted the staple. I would suggest to always remove the staple. When you connect the Zen Micro to a computer, charging device, or any other device other than a pair of head phones. You understand that if you leave the staple inserted in the Zen Micro and don't remove it. While you have it connected to a computer, charging device, or any other device, or devices, even a pair of head phones, and some thing happens, you can't hold me responsible.

  • Availability of Zen Micro 4 GB en 6 GB editions in Holla

    Hey everyone
I'm interested in buying one of those Zen Micro mp3 players, but in Holland there's still only the 5 GB edition available. I know that in the US they are about to launch a 4 GB and 6 GB edition too. Does anyone know if these types are also coming to holland, en if they are, then when?
I would really appreciate getting a useful answer,
    Thanx already
    Bart

Well, in some way, you're right. I've heard of stargate and it's true that in Holland they are always a couple of seasons late in comparison to the US.
It's actually too bad. I really adore all the great functions of the Zen Micro, but the capacity is a bit low, with it's 5 GB. Well, I'm thinking of buying a mp3 player around this june/july, so maybe if the 6 GB edition is released in Holland in the meantime, I'd be really pleased.
    Thanx for your help anyways

  • When you order your Zen Micro, make sure you know what you're getti

I recently about a 5gb Zen Micro Mp3 player and went through a lot of trouble to get it, but I learned a lot. Read on:
First, there are two types of packaging for Zen Micros, one that includes only the player, the cords, the manual, the software, a pouch and the battery, and another that also has a case with stand and belt clip attachments. Most of the retailers are selling both for the same price and many of them have them both in stock at the same time. The boxes are two different sizes and the larger one (almost 0'by 7') has the case and attachments. Get your money's worth and ask what's the box.
Second, NEVER NEVER NEVER buy from a company in British Columbia, Canada called Can Computer (www.cancomputer.com). It is BY FAR the WORST retailer I've EVER come into contact with!
I ordered from this company after doing a little bit of research and they seemed like a decent company. I was WRONG. I ordered my player. A day later they called me to tell me that the colour I wanted was sold out but hadn't been posted on the website, so I picked a new colour. The company only ships by reg mail so after a week of waiting, I got my mp3 player in the mail.
Now, when you buy the player from a decent retailer, as I did afterwards from The Source by Circuit City, the box is rapped in plastic and the inside box is taped. Everything in the box is packaged and sealed including the battery and the software. Everything is neatly placed in the box and the player is untouched and is protected by plastic stri
    ps.
The battery is outside the player. This is the way they should all be according to Creative Labs and all the other retailers I've spoken to.
When I received my supposedly "new" player from Can Computer, there was no outside plastic, the seal on the inside of the box was broken. The outside AND inside was covered in dirt. The inside contents looked like they had been dumped out onto a dirty floor and thrown back in again. Everything was opened, including the software. The battery was already inside the player and it was covered in dirt. When I took it out of the player, there was a piece of tape (the kind of scotch tape you get on a roll) holding the top of the battery together and the casing was warped. My manual was mangled. On top of that, there were parts missing from my box. I received the box that should have included the casing and the attachments. Neither were there. Also missing were my warranty cards and the casing to the manual. The cords that I receieved were not creative merchandise. As you can imagine, I wasn't very happy.
When I called the company, the Sales Manager was incredibly rude to me. He refused to apologise and seemed to make every effort to deter me from getting refund. He tried to tell me that it was normal for the player to arri've that way and that tape on the battery was something that was normal. He also said he would only refund my shipping costs to send it back to him if he saw it and believed that I was telling the truth. He was so rude that when I explained to him what happened, he had the nerve to say, "So, what do you want me to do about it's". To prove my point, I called the retailers around my city and asked them what the box, battery and player should look like. I also called Creative. All of them said that what I got from Can Computer was abnormal. It was only then, when I proved that they'd sent me used and defecti've products and demanded that I be given a full refund, that the Sales Manager of Can Computer agree with me.
This is the worst company I've ever dealt with. DO NOT buy ANYTHING from this company!!!
Do your research and if you can buy one from a retailer in your area, do so. It's worth it. Futureshop will match any internet retailer's price, and The Source gives over the counter replacement.

  • Zen Micro Disk Size 5GB

    Hi,
I just bought a Zen Micro mp3 player, 5GB. With Creative Mediasource I copied all my mp3 and WMA music to the Zen Micro. If I right-click in XP on my Music folder, Windows tells me the total size on disk is 2.9GB, 595 files.
BUT, after 500 files I get a warning saying that the destination is Full ?? But the Zen Micro is 5GB !?!?
How is this possible ? I checked some file sizes on the Zen Micro, and compared them with XP file sizes, but they are the same !?
What is going on here ?
    Thanks
    Roger Luijten

It also depends on what you have your bit rate at.
for example, if it is set at wma 60kbps you will only be able to fit about 800 - 000 songs on it.
the only way the zen micro can hold 2,500 songs on it is if you set the bit rate to wma at 64kb
    ps.
I have all my songs set to wma 60kbps and i'm already takin up 40% of my hard dri've space: with 384 songs on it so far.
