Zen Micro Multi-Problems// HELP HELP HELP!!! Plea

Sorry if this has already been posted, but please HELP me anyways!!!
When I first recieved this product (3 months ago) everything worked properly (uploading music, connecting, etc.) However, 2 days ago, I placed the USB Cable into the proper place and usually when you Connected the Zen Micro, a message will pop up and say "Player connected" or "Loading Dock", something like that. My MP3 Player does not connect and so, no messages pop up except for it saying "Player not connected". Then when I take out the USB Cable, my Zen Micro does not TURN OFF. I then proceed to take out the battery in the back, and when I place it back in, the screen of the MP3 Player says "Rebuilding Library". I wait until it finishes "rebuilding" and when that finishes, the screen looks like this:
NOW PLAYING -----------
Select music to PLAY from the Music Library
I press the PLAY sign |>II and nothing happens. I press the other signs, nothing happens. I try to TURN off the Zen Micro, that doesn't work. And I can't do a "RESCUE" because my player won't turn off, or on (unless I take out the battery, in which it goes on to the whole REbuilding mode). PLEASE HELP!!! HELP!! (I know this thread was long)but HELP!! Also, I've downloaded the newest Firmware, but when I open it, it does not let me Upgrade because my player cannot Connect to my computer. WTF!!Message Edited by tyutin5 on 07-08-2005 0:48 PM

I went to Amazon and apparently if you want to return an item, you need the Order #, which I do not have, nor does the person who gave it to me.
You know, it would really be helpful if MORE users could reply and give their insight into my problem.

  • ZEn Micro and Vista Help Plea

Ok I have searched but anyways so I have a ZEN Micro and I just bought a new laptop that happens to have Vista on it. I know I need to update the firmware on my player to get Vista to recognize it, the thing is that I recently moved across the country and my XP machine is at one end of the US and me and my Vista are at another end so is there anyway for me to do this without needing an XP machine please say yes because I really dont want to buy a new players just because I can load a driver *frustration* any solution?

No, you can't must be Xp & WMP0 only to update firmware. What firmware version is on the player now? You might be able to use it on a Vista but you will only be able to drag & drop to it. No playlists, no syncing. Ask around somone where you are may have a XP computer. Maybe a computer repair shop?

  • Zen Micro 5GB - Installation problems - HELP ple

    Dear All
I am sure must have been asked before, so please bear with me.
Just bought a Zen Micro and cannot seem to install the supplied software from the CD. Keep getting a InstalWizard 6003 error message. Have tried restarting, deleting temporary files (even connevting to net) and still get same message.
Have tried to install then by copying files to harddri've and running from there but that fails.
What am I to do or have I a dud?
    All suggestions greatefull recieved.
    Andy

I was also thinking - how's your cd player on the pc - is it generally ok ?
try copying the files from the cd to your hard dri've and running from there.
Sometimes you can get -6003 errors if some of the source files are unreadable for any reason.
If that fails then i suggest downloading from creatives website and trying the install again incase you just have a dud cd.
Seeing as you've just got it i'll also tell you from my own experience......
I have a zen micro 5gb bought it about 3 months ago and had no problems with the installation but that was on a fully patched up to date winxp sp2 with 2Ghz memory.
I did have issues with the zen micro itself hanging but i upgraded to the 2..02 firmare beta and it has been happy ever since.

  • Problem putting music on my zen micro. Pleease help

Okay, so i'm having a problem syncranizing my music onto my zen micro for some reason.
I've had my my zen micro player for almost a year and i've always been able to sync music onto it with no problem but i haven't put any new music on it for about a week or so and yesterday i tried to put music on it and it said that my windows media player read an unknown error and wouldn't put any music on it. ( i use my windows media player to put music on it, by the way )
So i have no idea what to do. I tried to reinstal the program that came with the player but that didn't work either and even that program said it read an error when i tried to use it to put music on there.
I even downloaded a new version of windows media player and tried to put music on it but that told me:
"Windows Media Player cannot save the sync settings because your device is full. Delete some unneeded files on your device and then try again."
But that's prett much impossible since my zen micro can save upto 2,500 songs and i only have 89 songs on there, no more and nothing else.
So can someone please help me and tell me what's wrong and what i have to do to fix it

you should be able to download the drivers and software you need from this site- just go to Support>downloads and enter in your OS, model no., etc.
it will give a list of programs, I don't have a mac but you'll probably need to download at least the driver and maybe the mediasource organizer

  • Need Help Urgently Zen Micro "Firmware Problem&qu

    Hello,
I've had my Zen Micro for a year now and due to a "screw up" when i start my player it displays the error "Firmware Problem" and start up in recovery mode. When I try to reload the firmware the update application on my pc it says "Your player is not connected" now can I fix this so I can start using my wonderful Zen again?
PC Specs If needed: Windows Media Center Service Pack 2

Thanks for the reply, but that firmware download doesn't work for me. As I said in my original post, my player is not recognized as being connected when it is. It is not my computer because Jukebox opens up when it detects the device and it is listed among my removable hardware.
I've downloaded the software, but nothing happens after the "select your language" prompt. It just says "Your player is not connected please connect your player" with a grayed out 'Upgrade' button and a darkened 'Close' button. I've tried unplugging and reconnecting the USB, but it still doesn't recognize that it's there.
Anyone else have an idea?Message Edited by lizzievee on 02-04-2007:29 AM

  • Zen Micro PlaysForSure firmware Help

I have Zen Micro with firmware .0.03 and I want to upgrade it, but I don't know which firmware I have to choose
May I choose firmware PlaysForSure 2.00.2e or firmware .02.05 ? Which is better? Or maybe I shouldn't upgrade my Zen and stay with .0.03 (it's stable)
And one more question: The PlaysForSure 2.00.2e firmware is stable and with no problems with it's?

but I still haven't answer for: WHY I have to use wmp 0? Only for listening music or maybe for transffering music to Zen?
And still how can I downgrade firmware?
. With the 2.xx.xx firmware it needs WMP 0 for the built in MTP, music management and DRM functionality that is enabled under the 2.xx.xx firmware. You also need XP because WMP0 is not supported under anything else.
    2. If you have a .xx.xx firmware version on the player and are under Windows 2000 or anything other than XP the unit CAN NOT be upgraded to a 2.xx.xx firmware. The update will fail or quit if you attempt to update to a 2.xx.xx firmware on anything but XP. If you already have a 2.xx.xx firmware on the player it will nolonger be recognized on a Win2000 or less system. It is only useable on a an XP system at that point.
    3. Once you have upgraded to the .02.05 firmware or the 2.xx.xx firmware you can only go back and forth between those two versions ( As long as you are on XP )

<FONT face=Century size=2>I just wana hear my music!:smileytongue: But I first had the regular Zen mp3 thingy I already forgot what it was called. I never dropped it or anything it just froze up on me one day. I went out to eat, turned it off, once we left I tried to turn it back on and nothing! I had to exchange it for a new one so I just got the Zen Micro. So many problems! hah I was doing good for about a couple of months from january until now!!! I've tried everything, recovery mode, I try to plug it in my comp to recharge the battery, nothing!!! It froze while charging usually the light pulses and the battery sign flashes but it all froze. • Windows Vista vs Zen Micro: Software Problems

    Hey guys,
Looking for a little help and this seems to be the right place to get, lots of helpful people!I have a 3 year old Zen Micro, 4/5Gb I think and it worked fine with my old Dell laptop which ran XP, I used to drag and drop mpg files easily with the bundled software, all was well. Back in January the Dell laptop reached the end of it's life and I layed my hands on a new Sony Vaio laptop, running the all singing, all dancing brand new shiney Windows Vista. For whatever reason, I had no need for the MP3 player for most of this this summer and now I've come to need it again and it obviously needs updating (all my music is 6 months out of date) and it seems I've lost the original software disc, bummer. So I downloaded the ZenCast Organiser & Sync software off the Creative site as it said it ran withVista and plug in the Micro and .........nothing.
The Sync manager thing just says that there's no player attatched and it won't hook up. Am I missing something? Do I need another driver for it'sor something I've had a look through this site and all. I seem to be able to find is what I've already downloaded. Help!

ow stupid is this though! Why aren't Creative releasing any updates to allow older players to work on new machines?!
Well they are releasing updates, the trouble is you need the old OS to apply them. I suspect there's technical reasons for updates not working on newer OS's. After all Creative couldn't anticipate Vista problems when making older devices (Vista wouldn't have been on hand to test at the time).
BTW Firmware upgrades can be found here (UK version)
    or here. (US)

  • Zen Micro Photo Problems- Please He

Hi all, I have enjoyed my zen micro photo for the past year with relati'vely little problem, but recently when i plug the zen in, it won't light up nor charge and seems like the computer didn't even know it's plugged in. Another serious problem is that if i do get it to charge, after i remove the zen from the computer, it won't turn back on! and it also keeps shutting down by itself if the heaven was merciful that day and the zen managed to turn on. Any solutions? Please help me!

what error message to you get, does the micro think its detected, is it charging and all that. that firmware will let the computer detect the player in the same way as your old one.
have u looked in device manager to see if its a problem device?
basic suggestion try to work out where the problem lies, test it on another usb cable, another usb port another computer. try and find out where the problem lies, then its easier to help.

  • Zen Micro: firmware problem with 2.00.

    Hello,
I just bought the Zen Micro and did an upgrade of its firmware to 2.00.2 before playing around with it.
I then ripped CDs using WinMP 0 and tried to sync the device.
After around 30 songs, the Zen Micro did not accept any more songs.
I also tried the Zen explorer way by copying files directly to the device.
Same problem after about 30 songs, the device stops responding...
    Any clue?
    Thank you
    Nicolas

First easy thing to try is a disk cleanup. To access the Rescue Mode on the Zen Micro, remove the battery, hold the power switch to the "on" position, reinsert the battery. Choose Disk Cleanup from the menu. Note: Disk cleanup should not remove your tracks. It searches through the disk for files and rebuilds the index, and can be useful for correcting any strange behaviour.
If that doesn't help, and to check if there is an issue between your PC and the player, try and find another PC you can test with. If the other PC works OK this suggests a USB incompatibility, so the quick solution might be to buy a good quality PCI USB card like Adaptec or Belkin. Not a wonderfully elegant solution, but USB cards are generally cheap and it might solve the issue immediately.
