Zen Micro Music Library Info Era

I got a 4GB Zen Micro for Christmas two years ago, and it worked great until it fell victim to the fatal headphone jack problem. I sent it in to Creative, and got a brand new 6GB player. I was ecstatic until I found out the new player wansn't recognized in the Creative Media Software. After a lot of e-mail correspondence with the Creative Support Team that ended with no helpful advice, I decided to see if my player was recognized in Windows Media Player. Sure enough, it did! I was so excited to download my music and use my mp3 player again. That was a few months ago, and it's worked very well. Until tonight. I was trying to dowload more music onto the player, hit copy to device, and the song started copying. It reached 99%, then the player said "There are no items on the CD or device." I checked the player, and sure enough, my Zen's screen read "Select music to PLAY from the music library." When I go to All Tracks in the Music Library, nothing is listed. But when I go to Now Playing, it says it is playing 72 of 00 songs. I plugged in the headphones and can hear music, so that's one good thing. But I can't tell what track is being played. In addition, my Windows Media Player won't recognize the Zen Micro any more.
I have a 6GB Zen Micro, am using a PC with Windows 98 SE, and WMP9. I've given up using the Creative Software because apparently my computer's too old to recognize the new software. HELP!!

Hi Atrain,
If you're about to purchase a Zen Micro player, and you currently use the WMP0 program, you should consider upgrading your new player immediately to the newest beta "Plays for Sure" firmware program, which will allow you to transfer tracks directly from your computer's WMP0 Music Library to the Music Library of your new Zen Micro player. You can avoid all the confusion and problems of using the various Creative software programs as intermediaries...
If you do decide to interact directly with WMP0, then you can easily set up your playlists before you "synch" them over to the Zen Micro player, or you can set them up piecemeal on the player's software, after the songs have been transferred to the player's music library.
I have quite a bit of music from foreign sources, much of it not readily identified by the major tagging programs, so I make up my own tags. I use albums, genre, composer, and artist... but I also have playlists set up for "trumpets", "strings", "concertos", "sonatas", etc.
I upgraded to the new beta firmware when it was first released, and have had no major problems with it. If you can bypass ever having to deal with the Creative Media Source Player/Organizer programs, you'll avoid a lot of problems...

  • ZEN micro - music library (artist and alb

    Hi,
I just got the Micro for xmas and installed the software. I now have two issues. After converting all my iTunes songs into mp3s, the artist and album won't show up. I've right clicked my Folders tab to include the artist and album and it lists on my Details section for view but not in Creative Library...any suggestions?
I have hundreds of songs and going through each and everyone just to add artist and album will take forever.
Second and more importantly: My micro starts up and I'm able to hear the clicks in the touchpad but it won't do anything. It shows 3 demo songs but they won't even play. I connect the USB to the micro and it shows "NEW HArdware detected" then a few minutes later it says, "device not connected" - i'm gonna see if the store i bought it from has any suggestions but figured I would try here as well. Thanks!

. Chances are the converted songs don't have tag data. Use a tagging program to check, and add the required data. There's no real shortcut I'm afraid but a mass tagging program (which most are) should make easier work of it.
    2. Sounds odd and like the player is faulty. Can you access the Rescue Mode to see if you can run a disk cleanup? To access the Rescue Mode on the Zen Micro, remove the battery, hold the power switch to the "on" position, reinsert the battery. Choose Disk Cleanup from the menu.

  • Zen micro-music library. songs in alphabetical or

Weneva i put music on it, its all stored in alphabetical order of the song title and not the artist. how do i change this? this might not be the best thread youve ever read but i need help on it. so please reply

ollyp wrote:......arranged them by name not by number. but play by album on the micro does it by number.....
errr, no it doesn't. not for me, not right now. i browse to the album name, and hit play (which USUALLY plays them by number) but it's playing them ALPHA. for every album on my micro. and they all have complete id3 tags with track numbers, etc.....

  • Organizing the Zen Photo music library - how

    Hi,
I just got my Zen Micro Photo, and I quickly threw whatever music I had on it.
I started browsing it, and quickly saw that extremely many files were just listed as 'Unknown', yet could be played.
Having knowledge about computers I realized that the Zen apparently draws its informations from the files document info, which can be accessed through properties when right clicking a file.
Is there any way to make the Zen just get the information from the name of the file, or in some way change the document info of thousands of files in an easier way than manually right clicking each and everyone of them?
I'm somewhat of a perfectionist, and I'd like all the files on my zen to be listed the same kind of way.
I hope you guys have some ideas and suggestions
    Thanks in advance!

this also happned to me, you need to copy and paste all your music onto the player, dont go through "add media"

  • Zen micro music downlo

Is this player compatible with any of the pay music download sites? I can't find anything that has a driver so i can drag and drop music on to the player.

I signed up for Napster and downloaded my first song. I noticed that it did not recognize my portable device and the error message was that it was not plugged in. It was definitely plugged in and working. I loaded 800 songs from my personal library earlier. I looked at the supported players list and noticed that the zen micro was not on the list. I tried MSN and several others as well. All the same thing. I was just wondering if someone has signed up for a pay - per - download site that has worked with the zen micro. I realize that this is a new product so it may take some time.

  • Zen Micro Music Not Showing

I have a Zen Micro and I didn't update the firmware since purchase 2 years ago. It worked fine until this evening I transfered songs and they didn't show up on the player. They showed up on my pc as though they were in the player but they are not. I went ahead and updated to the latest firmware and software releases per this forum's instructions. The unit syncs up to the PC just fine and appears to transfer songs. They show up on my pc as though they are on the Micro but when I attempt to access them all my player says is " Select Music To Play From Music Library ". What am I missing?

I'm no expert, but I think Etomi would work for you. I've been downloading music from them for a while now, and while I haven't had an MP3 player to try and download the music to, I know that at the very least, music I got from Etomi is on my hard dri've, and I can burn CDs with those songs.
I also know there is some type of way to convert MP3 to WMA and vice versa although I've never done it.
just google "WMA to MP3" and you should find some sites...

  • Zen Micro Music Download Conundrum - Really Frustrated Help Nee

<SPAN class=posttext>Man am I frustrated - really frustrated. Here is my conundrum:
I have a Zen Micro. I want to purchase music online. It is a frikin' maze of problem solving. I download from iTunes, they have some sort of proprietary format that my Zen won't play. Okay - no problem. I go to Yahoo music. You have to pay to subscribe and then download. They are wma anyway. Napster is wma as well. Walmart music is wma too. I would try Rhapsody, but I think you have to pay to subscribe and download as well. It just occurred to me - Sony has a music download site as well? I will check them next. I tried converting the Napster wma into an MP3 but I got a message the Creative software cannot convert the file. Arghhhhh.
So - what is the easy way? Is there a site I can pay and download mp3 music files and transfer them to my Zen Micro? Or is there a freeware converter to convert wma files into mp3 files - that is if the downloaded files do not have a voodoo whammy curse on them that prevents them from being converted.
Might "Play for Sure" fix this? As far as I can tell this is for subcription services, not for single downloads.
    Thanks for any help.

  • Zen Micro - music won't trans

I have 355 songs on my Zen Micro and it says I have 55 MB space. I deleted about 0 songs and the free space didn't change at all... I think there's something wrong. ?
When I try to transfer music to my Zen Micro in Creative Media Source it doesn't work, it rips the song from the CD but when it comes to Writing it it just says Error: Unable to create file.
I looked through old topics and couldn't find this problem. Help!!
    thanks a lot,
    sam.

Did you try to delete the song with the Micro itself? You probably just deleted it from the Now Playing playlist, not from the unit itself. You have to navigate directly to the song (By going Artist->Album->Song) first and then select delete to truly erase the file.
I find that the best and easiest way to manage the music on my Micro is through the desktop software (Creative Media Explorer, WMP, or Notmad). The Micro's user interface is great for all types of playback, but blows for things like tag editing, playlist creation, or file maintinence.

  • MP3 Zen Micro Music Purchasing Progr

I'm thinking of buying the Zen Micro but I don't know where i can buy songs that are supported by the Micro. Where does everyone get their songs?

I would recommend the Napster-To-Go service. I can't even imagine paying $.99 cents per song, and never have. For a flat $5 a month, you can download a mountain of good music, and stuff your new Zen Micro to the gills. I loaded a gigabyte of music into mine just this afternoon, sure would not have happened at 99 cents a pop.
I wish I could have turned Rhapsody into Napster-to-Go - I much prefer it, but they are still on the insane 99 cents a track plan if you want to take the music on a portable device (as the monthly fee is $0). What I love about Rhapsody is the great depth of genres to choose from. When I saw the Napster genre list I almost fell over it was so simplistic. It can also be a pain if the music you want to smack on your Zen is in Napster as a "buy" for 99 cents, but I can li've with that.
Since my son and I would fight over one music account anyway, we've decided to keep one Rhapsody account, and one Napster, and we're pretty well covered, still prefer Rhapsody on the home computers. I can open both at once, and go through the Rhapsody lists I spent eons building to help pick out the music for Napster lists to put on the Zen.
I have just one warning for you if you are a new Zen Micro owner - never under any circumstances hit the "Reload Firmware" command. I, and many others on this board, ended up with a pretty paperweight. Luckily I killed it in the first 30 days from Amazon, I sent an email that mine was defecti've, and received a replacement less than 48 hours later - have 30 days to return the broken one.

  • HUGE Zen Micro Music Prob

Ok...i've had this problem practically since day ...i got it for x-mas. Everytime i add a song...it doubles it. Just recently...i added 57 songs. I look on the list...on my computer...and GUESS WHAT?!?! 44 (ish) songs...woohoo. What do i do?
Please dont say delete each double...that will take WAY TOO LONG!

sorry..it was clear in my head ;-)
I just meant that all i'm doing is the ripping phase. i am not moving the tracks to the zen device, just ripping cd tracks to my laptop. is use zen micro explorer for the ripping phase; notmad will not rip cd's. ultimately, i would transfer to the device using notmad. BUT, the duplicates show in the library immediately upon ripping the cd. it does not happen when i download a song, only when the tracks go into the library from a cd. Ideas?
    Not life-threatening, but certainly annoying.

  • Can you browse Zen Micro music via folder na

I find it annoying having to browse via album name as i have to rename all my tags to have artist then album name as i cannot always remember the artist from the album name.
    Thanks for all your help
    great forum

    Thanks for quick response
I don't browse by artisit because most (probably %95) of the music i listen to are compilations that are mixed and that would be useless. I don't think mp3 players are very good for people listening to mixed music.

  • What to do if new firmware for zen micro is not for you

Ok its pretty simple, takes long but it should work (never been tested)
Uninstall the new firmware (keep all your songs saved onto PC music library)Install the cd you were given with the zen micro. You'll have all your songs on your pc library ( i would reccomend clearing out you zen micro music library and just putting the pc music library songs on your zen micro from there) so just transfer all the files you want onto the zen micro and it should be running fine.please reply and tell me what happens.Zenmastertml

    Hi Prakash,
As per GAAP - FI general accepting account principal,
Balance is define as on date,
while transaction/P&L can define for perticular period date range.
Here, I guess you want to see balance as on 30.06.2011
    and transaction for 01.06.2011 - 30.06.2011.
    Am i right?
FYI, If you use 0BALANCE for any period, let say 01.06.2011 - 30.06.2011
then it will show balance for last day 30.06.2011
because its aggregation is SUM, LAST Value on time characteristics.
More detail on requirement will help us to provide you better solution.

  • How to heal corrupted music library?

How can IĀ retrieve my music on my music library?
When I open any of my music folder,it always appear "no song".
But when I open my music file on my memory card, it is there.
How come I can't access it on my phone's browser?

Same problem on the N97 for me. The synchronise went crazy and was copying things back to my laptop and then back to the phone creating duplicates (in both. Deleting by artist deleted then entries in the Artist list, but the info was still in Album and Songs lists (which would not delete!), and the Music Library claimed there were about 300 songs more than I actually own!
Killed the sync link in Windows Media, deleted everything I possibly could from MusicPlayer and it was still claiming loads of non-existent song (even after Refresh Library), then performed major file-manager surgery on the Music folder and made sure there was nothing whatsoever remaining. Music Player (after another Refresh Library) still claimed there was 300+ songs.
Eventually went down the drastic Format Mass Storage route (making sure I had copied everything in the CITIES folder, bacause I wasn't sure what would happen to this) and, HeyPresto! MusicPlayer reported zero songs.
Full new sync to Media Player and (with a few hiccups) everthing tickety-boo. Identical number of songs reported by MusicPlayer and Media Player.
Now - with 14gb of music, this was not a quick option.!!!
If only there was a Rebuild Music Library option, this would have all been avoided.
Or - even of the folder/files that hold this into could be made visible so that they could be deleted!
So - one thing was discovered - this music library info is SOMEWHERE on the Mass Storage Drive. It may be hidden in the default Music folder (that wasn't there after the re-format and was added by the first use of Music Player.
    A possible quicker route?
So - and this is no certainty - it might be possible to just delete just the Music folder and start again (not much quicker, I'd agree - but perhaps less daunting than the reformat route. Certainly this shouldn't cause any problems.)
Or - perhaps a quicker route, by using FileManager to move all the visible contents of the Music folder into a new folder, deleting the Music folder, opening MusicPlayer (which should create a new Music folder and empty library data), and then moving everything back to the new MUSIC folder, and running the Refresh Music Library. Providing File Manager can performa quick "Move", this should be quite quick. (This assumes that no "Library" data is held in hidden files in the sub-folders - which seems unlikely since it's a pretty dumb way to do it . . .but then we are talking Nokia!)

  • Unable to view Zen Micro library correctly in MediaSou

    Hello everyone
I am running version 3.0.09 of Creative MediaSource and have installed the PlaysFor Sure upgrade. I have also installed firmware upgrade 2..2.0 to my Zen Micro.
    My problem is as follows:
In the Creative MediaSource Organizer, when I select the Creative Zen Micro as my Source, I can only view the contents of my Zen as folders and files (i.e. it gives me a "Windows Explorer" type view of the contents) - I cannot view my Zen library in the same way as my PC Music Library (i.e. by Genre, Artist or Album).
I have searched the Knowledge Base and the support forums in vain for an answer to this. Please can anyone help?
    Many thanks,
    Mike O'Hara

we must say only one thing: the MediaOrganizer's team is only LAZY!!!
They allowed us to listen to the music from the ZenMicro throw MediaOrganizer, but they haven't coded the "organize" part!!!
It is not impossible to view again album/genre/artist, because the WinAMP team has just released a version that can do it, and can also modify the mp3's informations and upload/delete other MP3s. The only problem is that PFS doesen't allow the direct playback, and so WinAMP has not implemented it yet!
Why have you creative done a half-work? Why didn't you waited releasing the new firmware? Is it a money job?
