Zen Micro Photo can't remember where it was on playlist or vol

I just realized that my Zen Micro Photo does not remember where it was playing in a playlist before the unit was turned off and the volume resets to 7. This happens even with a fully charged unit and it happens in less than 24 hours. Within a couple minutes, it can remember where it was playing before and keeps the volume where it was, but I know that within 2 hours it did not remember.
Is this unit defecti've or am I missing something?

I've just got a? ZMP and I'm very happy with it. However is it possible to charge it from the PC's USB port without the player going into "dock" mode, i.e. unable to access functions, listen to songs, etc. Jock in a Frock

Make sure you had closed all application that could be interacting with the player. Application such as MediaSource, WMP0, Zen MicroPhoto Media Explorer,etc. Also, turn off the Player Detector option in MediaSource.

Zen micro photo 8gig... where did my files go??

I use the media organiser to transfer my music over to my player and the albums show up?on my player when its connected to my pc, But when i unplug it and search my player for the albums they are not there... then i reconnect tp my pc and they are there.. what the hell is going on?this dosent happen all the time but when it does its annoying.Can you help please

again, the cc app doesn't move/remove/delete/uninstall any files on your desktop, or elsewhere.
in addition, your desktop folder may have been a shortcut to a folder, or the files in your desktop folder may have been shortcuts to your files. so, search your computer (using your file search) for your missing files. also, check your trash for your missing files.

Zen Micro Photo Recovery Mode Problem !! Help needed plea

I just purchased a white zen micro photo last week. As I was putting music onto my ZMP, my computer ( Dell Windows XP ) froze. I disconnected my player and when I went to turn on my ZMP, I found out that it went into Recovery Mode. I tried all the possible ways that it listed to do.
Clean Up (when I pressed that one, nothing happened .. the screen didn't even change)</LI>
Format All (When I pressed that one, the screen seemed to .. freeze .. but it had a smear of lines .. ?)</LI>
Reload Firmware (I never had firmware on my ZMP to begin with)</LI>
Reboot (It turned off and It turned back on like it's supposed to but when it turned back on, it was in recovery mode again)</LI>
My ZMP does not even turn off. This is wasting the battery so please help me. I have emailed Creative but they have not replyed yet.

You must have had firmware on there if it worked, but "reload firmware" actually erases the firmware. It's a badly named function.
Unfortunately though you've tried all you can as a user. The player sounds faulty and you ought to contact Creative support for a replacement.

Zen Micro Photo Battery? Where to

Hey guys. I'm a bit confused now because I can't find an original Zen Micro Photo battery in germany. It seems like it isn*t released till now. Now I would like to if and if yes when it will be released in germany. It can*t just be true that creative wants us to use the old zen micro battery which is weaker.

Why wouldn't they take responsibility? Read through the forums, you're not the first one with battery problems. I'd say try a new battery if you can, otherwise send Creative Support an email about the problem. You'll probably have to send in your player and will get a replacement.

Then i have formated the Player and now the PC can't find the Player and i will make a new Firmware on the Zen Micro Photo but the Pc can't find the Player! What can i make, i think? the Firmware on the Player?is?deleted, because?the PC can't find the Player. That means that i can't make some Songs or Photos on my Player and i can't can make the new Firmware on?the Player! So i hope some body can help me!?Thanks. Zen Micro Photo Conce

I am about to purchase a Zen Micro Photo. I am choosing it over the Zen Micro because of the many posts about the headphone problem on the Zen, the clearer screen on the Micro Photo, and the lack of availability of the Zen Micro in the stores - very few stores are selling the Micro and many have only the Micro Photo (which leads me to believe that the Micro is being phased out - at least in the marketplace). I have some concerns about the Micro Photo - there seems to be some posters on this group who have a buzz from the screen. Since many reviews of the Micro Photo say how great the sound is, I am going to assume, perhaps foolishly, that the buzz has been taken care of in the recent releases or this is not as common a problem as some would like to state. My other concern is and question is how fragile are these? There are warnings about NOT jogging with the Micros. I have not seen this with other companies'hd players. I plan to use this in a car. Is this going to be a problem? Sometimes roads are bumpy.
One of the main reasons that I have chosen the Zen is the bookmarking features. I use the mp3 player for audiobooks and I want to be able to set a bookmark in mid track of a book, listen to something else, and then come back to that same place in the book and continue on - which from the Micro/Microphoto manuals I should be able to do. Is this correct?
Surprisingly, few mp3 players can do this - the Ipod can't despite it's claim that it can.
I appreciate any feedback.

Hard to say; I see it's "out of stock" there. The Creative site says the MicroPhoto will be available in 0 colors, much like the original Micro; however, most stores didn't carry all 0 colors of the original. (For example, Best Buy only had black in the stores; the other 9 colors were only available online.)

What I want to know: is it possible to put the Accu of the Zen Micro Photo in a "normal" Zen Micro? The Photo Accu has a greater Capacity (over 800mA, I guess)...so it should increase the runtime a lot! Has anyone tried this?

Zen Micro Photo: PC doesn't detect dev

I just bought two Zen Micro Photos. On my PC, I downloaded the latest driver without installing any of the software that comes with the device. I plugged it into my PC, and it detected it immediately. No problems.
On my wife's PC, I downloaded the latest driver and installed all of the software. The PC will recognize that a USB 2.0 device has been plugged in, but it will not recognize it as an MP3 player. I have searched these forums and tried various suggestions (like pointing the New Hardware wizard to C:\Program Files\Creative\Jukebox 3 Drivers), but everything turns out the same: the PC cannot install the hardware.
I plugged her Micro into my PC and it works as expected.
When plugged in, her Micro does *not* show the docked screen.
Both PCs are Windows XP SP2.
Can anyone help?

Nevermind, I found where to figure that out. Looks like her PC doesn' t have SP2.
I'm downloading it now, and I'll be back if I run into any more issues.

Zen Micro Photo wont und

Hi guys hope you can help?I am having problems with my Zen Micro Photo. Where as before when leaving explorer my player would undock, now it just stays docked and I am afraid to remove it from the USB. Cheap/free DIY Zen Micro/Photo Case and wall charg

Ahoy! I've been on the Head-Fi forums and figured to check out these and didnt find much.
Its simple to make a hardcase for your Zen Micro or Micro Photo, check out mine!
I used a penguins mint tin, (like Altoids but caffinated)
also, the standard wall charger for USB motorola phones will charge your Zen Micro Photo
its still a 5v usb charger, it works and you can find them cheaper than one from
creative

This was very easy to do.
Take the mint tin, trace it onto the back of a peice of foam (the white plasticy side)
cut slightly inside the line, about /3 a centimeter.
measure the height of the tin and take about /5 to /4 of a cm off of that and cut straight down the long edge of the foam, its an exact fit (if you want it fitted like mine)
you will need TWO of these, its double layered
Check the fit of the peice before you place anything.
i placed the sides first but do whatever you find easiest.
fold the long peices in half to find the center and just start applying from the bottom of the tin.
next, cut a peice big enough to cover your screen but not the buttons.
take the sticky side off and lay the foam, sticky side up, onto the screen. close the tin.
Your MOST of the way done
now take a dremel (what i used) or what ever else. maybe a nail and hammer the corners and scisor the between? (that may be sharp)
and you have yoruself a great case everyone will marvel at and youll be proud of it, post your pics here or atleast email me at [email protected]

I deal with the slight buzzing while the screen is on, i just haev my screen cut off in 0sec of idle and its good to go, thats a known bug.
Also, one time my zen kinda froze booting but that was a fluke adn has been fine since then.
I Love my hard case i made, it has a mysterious ding in it but that just means that i spared my zen from that same ding.
I've been IM'd and asked abotu it overheating in the enclosure and i've used it in the sun for hours on end and the zen itself stays cool, i dont think there is a problem with that at all.
If you rmaking one know that its one layer of foam on the bottom and two on the sides.
the easiest way to apply the screen protector is to peel the sticky off of lay it on the screen, sticky side up and then just close the lid.
I had the idea of putting a hole in the lid where the screen is and glueing the clear plastic from a CD case but scrapped that idea because it would look tacky and get dirty.

Zen micro photo, Austra

hey, this is more directed to to the creative people but maybe someone else knows. Currently in australia we have pre oreders for zen micro photos, though only in selected colours, i looked at the australian creative website and they only have 6 of the colours listed on the zen micro photo page. Does that mean only those 6 colours are going to be released here? Because i want the orange one and they hav'nt got that listed, anyone know anything?
All other country wesites have all colours listed, america, Asia and such

Creative Zen Micro Photo not work with

Hi,i formatted my hd 2 days ago.
I loose my cd with creative zen micro photo expoler.
When i connect my mp3 with usb cable appears an autoplay window of windows Xp that show me what i cand do with my mp3(Transfer Files with Windows media is the only option).
How I can do to use my mp3 with Creative Organizer?
Where i can find creative zen micro photo explorer?

Top of page on Creative banner, click Support-> Downloads-> MP3 Players-> Zen-> Zen MicroPhoto, chose your language and Operating System and select the software that you need.

Looks like Zen MicroPhoto Media Explorer isn't posted any more, so Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2 (52.2 MB) would probably be your best bet.
I have had no luck getting MediaSource 5.x to work with my computers and I've tried very hard.
