Zen Microphoto dll prob

Hi, I just received a new Zen Microphoto as a gift from a family member. Im liking it so far, but I have a big problem. I can't install any creative software on my computer because I keep getting an error saying "Unable to load CTCabEx.dll" and then the install either stops, or finishes without anything being installed.
Can anyone help me with this problem?

I tried that and had no luck. What I did was create a new profile with admin privilages (xp home) and rebooted. I logged in as the new user and closed all the programs that were open that I was able to. When I tried to install the program I still got the can't load dll error.
then try if u have clogging sofwtare like a messenger or something else u can try.

Creative Zen Microphoto (8GB) prob

hello,
i got my Zen microphoto about in sometime during december and now my MP3 is displaying some problems... everytime i go to turn it on, it displays on the OLED display "hardware problems" i cant listen to my music or anything... can anyone help me please? its been like this for a week and i would really like to listen to my music again... can anyone help me?

well... thanks, but it is indeed a hardware problem... i cant start up recovery mode or anything, all it says on the OLED screen is "hardware problem" i checked the manual on the creative disc that came with it and all it said was for me to download the new firmware thing but the thing is, my computer cant even recognize it or anything... it wont start up at all... do you think there is any alternati've way to fix it's am i missing something or doing something wrong? everytime i do that idea about taking the battery off and slowly sliding it in and try to turn on the power, it just shows up "hardware problem"...

ZEN MicroPhoto LCD prob

I bought a ZEN MicroPhoto in the beginning of May and now the LCD is having a problem. The screen is fading or such from the left. Some parts or letters or numbers that are usually white are turning red and the left side of the screen is darkening for some reason. The whole screen is slowly darkening and fading. It was fine one day and then the next morning I noticed that the left side of the screen was darker than the right. It got worse later through the day and I think I'll return it to Circuit City or such and get a new one, unless someone has a better suggestion for me.

Zen Microphoto chargeing prob

I got my wife a zen microphoto mp3 player at the same time i was sold a compatible charger. If I use my computers usb to charge it shows a lighing icon when it is charging and when it is charged you see a Plug telling you its charged.However if i use the charge i was sold at the time you dont get the plug telling you it is chagred. If I buy the zen micro charger does it show a fork telling me its charged fully?

Zen MicroPhoto Radio Prob

Hello,?I have a weird problem about my Zen MicroPhoto. I just opened my mp3 player and tried to choose radio, but radio was not on the list. I had a look at configure menu but i cant find anything related with radio at my Zen MicroPhoto. What can be reason and solution?

Zen MicroPhoto sound prob

I am currently on my third zen micro in a year and am having a problem with the sound. This happened on the first zen micro that i purchased last october. The sound has stopped working for one of the ears. I checked the headphones and they are fine.. so once again i am stuck with a defecti've zen micro product. I would like to know if any one else has experienced this problem, and if so, how did they go about fixing it!. Customer service is taking WAY too long to get back to me.

I am talking about the Microphoto. I had the same problem with the micro back in the fall of last year and got a replacement for it (another micro).. and then when that broke in the spring i upgraded to the photo.. and i believe i'm having another jack problem..
what do you think?I checked out the lengthy thread about the jack problem. I can't believe so many ppl experienced that. Well all of my friends that own one have had the same problem and got replacements..

ZEN MICROPHOTO crashing prob

Well I have my zen for about 6 months now, it's a pretty good player, but a month or two ago it started crashing. I usually put it in my pants pocket and when I touch it or grab it it simply turns of as if the battery is removed. Is it because the cold weather outside or something else like static electricity?

Creative Zen Microphoto 4Gb prob

Im not sure but when i plug my micro photo in my computer, creative media explorer does not read the player. The computer recognizes it but the creative media explorer does not. I tried reinstallin the program, different usb ports and usin a laptop. No luck. I clicked reformat the firmware by accident and now my mp3 player always loads to recovery mode after the "Creative" screen shows. I tried dwnloadin the firmware updater but no luck as it wont read the micro photo. Tried cleaning disk, Format and rebooting no luck. Anyways was just wondering is there still anything left that i can do to save my microphoto. No more warranty and its past year for the manufacturing warranty
Heres a video that i uploaded, somehow its 2 second when i uploaded it but it was suppose to be 6 seconds. It goes by very fast but if u see after the "Creative Screen" it turns to this messed up pixeled screen then to recovery mode.

There was nothing else to do !
The player won't go on normally, it was always going to recovery mode .. That's why I did that !

ZEN MicroPhoto STARTING PROB

Hi,all
i got some strange error on my ZEN on startup. when i've switched ON appears CREATIVE welcome notes and player hang up on this ..nothing more happend..i've tried to remove battery to restart them but wont help ..no response for any actions..nothing just CREATIVE on the screen ... what it can be guys ?
i can't even upload new firmware on it ..PC does'nt recognize attached device...
**bleep** happens ...please any suggestion ? or what i should do ?

i can run RECOVER MODE with procedure from that thread but any of options won't work..i can select all options but if i run for example FORMATING or CLEAN UP or even FIRMWARE ERASING appears only kind of POP UP window with selected option and still nothing ..hang up ..i try left it for few minutes ..even 30 min and nothing happend ...
please any suggestions after this ?

Zen MicroPhoto Charging Prob

I just bought zen micro photo.i'am charging it from my computer and it charges just fine.but when i try to charge it from the wall,it shows the lighting on the battery icon but its light doesnt fade on and fade out and doesnt seem charging.i havent updated firmware.what can be the problem?

Creative Zen MicroPhoto startup prob

I've recently started experincing this problem where my MicroPhoto will startup automatically. After realizing that it has turned on, I put it on hold after turning it off, yet it still turns on. This happened multiple times the same day and reoccurs randomly. If anyone can help me out, I would appreciate it.

When i charge my ZMP via usb cable, it only charges about a quarter of the way and stops charging. Any ideas?

Zen MicroPhoto connection problem/file transfer prob

My wife had a Zen MicroPhoto player that she used for audiobooks. About a month ago it started having "no device found" problems with the Media Explorer. She bought a new player, and it's no better. The Media Explorer will not install. I tried installing it separately, and the installation hangs, because it cannot find the player. She is using the Organizer now to transfer files, but she much prefers the Explorer. Many of the audiobook discs have the same file names (e.g., Track , Track 2, Track 3,....,etc.). When that happens, with the second and subsequent disks, she gets a message asking whether to replace or skip the duplicate files; the file names are the same, but the disks have different album names. Is there a workaround for this?

I thought Creative's customer support was bad, but this "discussion forum" sucks big time -- not a single reply. Thanks....

How do I convert Itunes purchases to my ZEN MicroPhoto??

Okay, I had an Ipod mini and I went through three of them in the warranty time. I was sorely dissappointed with it, but I got a Creative Labs ZEN microphoto for Christmas and I love it. The only problem is that I have all this music that I downloaded from Itunes and I would love to be able to listen to it on my ZEN. I would still like to keep downloading from Itunes because it's the easiest and most legal downloading site that I have found. I know there are converters online, but I can't ever tell if it's legal or it will work. Does Apple have anything (hopefully free) that converts Itunes for my new ZEN???

Are you saying that iTunes downloads are only compatible with iPod's? That in order to play an iTunes download on anything but an iPod involves either illegal conversion or first burning it to a CD? I, too, just received a Zen Vision M and nowhere in the download, signup or anything else process did I see any mention of the fact that iTunes is not compatible with other software/hardward. Yes, the CD conversion trick works but for the aggrevation and lost time it's cheaper to drive to the store and buy the real thing.

Hi everyone, my friend was considering a Zen Vision M and an Ipod video. I kinda suggested the Zen so he got it and absolutely loves it.
After seeing how nice the Zen Vision M is, I jumped on this MicroPhoto when I saw a sale and it is awesome!
The Zen MicroPhoto is a really good device, but just simple firmware stuff could make it a great one.
.) Ability to view pictures + listen to music
2.) Ability to view movies and video (the Muvo has smaller capacity and a screen with less colors and it can? Yet we are buying a nicer mp3 player than the Muvo but can't do video? The Sansa is small as hell and it can. It has the screen, hardware wise it should be able to do it, and if this is added through a firmware update, it won't be on the packaging and thus will not hurt sales of your other products.
I hate it when an awesome product is created and is capable of something and the manufacturer slashes that ability from it intentionally.
Another good example is the Gen III Ford Taurus SHO, its 3.4 liter Yamaha V8 was capable of revving well over 7500RPM and producing more than 30hp. Ford however, even though they had this jewel of an engine, intentionally cut its ability down to 235hp or else they feared it would be faster than their Mustang GT. What a shame, I hate to see that Creative is doing the same with the MicroPhoto.
3.) Ability to record FM with the latest firmware (If this is a RIAA issue, then please provide two firmwares and two download links, one that says "United States Users" and one that says "Non-US users"
4.) Ability to control different aspects of the glowing blue LEDs. They are obviously firmware controlled and can have brightness adjusted since they glow in and out when you have it plugged into the USB cable.
5.) Make it show up on your computer as a removable disk. On all my other MP3 players, it showed up just like a flash dri've and you could drag and drop whatever you wanted onto it, and it would just play whatever files on there it could play. Here, it won't let me drag and drop anything that is copy protected or is a different file type.
I know you can set aside 4 gigs of that for this purpose, but with the size of the files and videos I transfer, it would be nice if I could use all 8 gigs. Perhaps an option to just let the whole thing show up as a removable flash dri've?
*ok... I just tried it and that seems to be working on this computer that is Windows XP SP2 with WMP, but on the school computer that was XP SP2 with WMP0, it would not allow me to do this.

I think you will find that the reason the MicroPhoto is on sale is that it is now a legacy player (it was released before anybody could play video). I doubt very much that any further improvements will be coming....
EQ does have an effect... Maybe you earphones are not working well?
