Zen MicroPhoto lots of iss

<font face="Garamond MT">Couple days ago I bough Zen MicroPhoto player and I can't say I'm very pleased with it due to a number of problems. I think Creative should at least make some kind of additional manual for this model. The issues are the following:
<font face="Garamond MT">) Player does not support Win2000. I have this system at work and I can't just upgrade it to XP. I read all forum threads on this and none of the proposed solutions worked for me. I could not try to use EasyCd, because it was not in my box. I?d like it to be shipped additionally, but I leave in Russia so for sure it will take a lot of time.
<font face="Garamond MT">2) Player does not charge when I connect it to my PC with Win2000 installed. Why!? It feels ludicrous if it can be charged only by PC with installed drivers Moreover it does not charge via my wall charger for RazrV3. Any suggestions? I?ve read all forum threads on this as well.
<font face="Garamond MT">3) There is no possibility to view files in the way they are sorted on hard dri've, I mean that the player reads only tags and if something is wrong with tags the sorting is corrupted.
<font face="Garamond MT">4)Too sensiti've touchpad.
<font face="Garamond MT">?
<font face="Garamond MT">I will appreciate any comments, which can really help. Answers like ?Its not supported. It can be charged only by PC with drivers? are not welcome

Finally, I've found the solution for OS capitability. It works!?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" />

  • Creative Zen Microphoto 8GB hangs

    Hello,
I have seen a lot of posts on the same subject here, but have not seen any resolution yet.
I am sure the story sounds familiar... hangs at "Creative" logo, I go into recovery mode, and run scan disk or format etc... They don't work. I have even left the player on "formatting" overnight until the battery drains and it never finishes, same goes for "Scanning".
I am on my 4th player now and am having the same issue again. This time the player is now out of warranty so I can't return it, and I am not paying money out of my own pocket to get this thing fixed. Please don't tell me this product is defecti've... I don't buy that excuse. And it isn't a corrupt file, because a reformat would fix that.
Once it hangs, my computer won't recognize it, so I can't even try to update the firmware or anything.
Any new updates or information on this issue? It is obviously a well documented problem...just google "Creative zen freezes" and see how any hits you get!
I am pretty disappointed with this player. I should have followed my gut instinct in the first place, and just bought an iPod. I spent a lot of money on this paper weight. Any help, advice, prayers,or donation$ (for a new iPod) would ge greatly appreciated!

Right you will need to download the latest firmware from this site.
Here is a hyperlink to where you can download the firmware:
    http://uk.europe.creative.com/suppor...lect=4&x=9&y=2
You might have to put some details in.
Once you have downloaded the latest firmware just start the program up.
Plug in your Zen into the PC and then press the "Reload Firmware" button on your Zen.
You should see your computer screen pick it up.
Then you click on your PC to install firmware.
    That should be it.
    I hope this hel

Got any questions you have just post on this space.
I do apologise if this does not make much sence my grammer is not that brilliant.

  • Zen Microphoto Media Explorer Playli

Just recently bought a Zen Microphoto Media Explorer for my wife. I have had an old Archos Jukebox for years, and like it a lot, but its kinda bulky now. Anyway, when I want to create a playlist for the Archos, I use Musicmatch Jukebox, which gives a lot of options on how ro order the songs - things like Order by artist, by album/track, shuffle randomly, etc. The Creative Mediasource organizer doesnt seem to have these options, forcing you to drag and drop your tracks one at a time is you want anything else than the order they are on the computer - not good when you have 000 songs on your player. So I guess my question is - is there an easier way to manage playlists. Am I missing something on the Creative MediaSource product? Can I use Musicmatch or Real Player (or something else) to create my playlists and then take them across to the player - I notice the playlist I have created has a 'zpl' suffix while MusicMatch is 'M3u'. Is there a plugin that would help? Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance

Does the Micro have to be running MTP/PlaysForSure to use Real for playlist management?

  • Creative Zen MicroPhoto: How can I look at the Playli

    Hi!
I have a small question about my new Zen MicroPhoto: While I hear music I often add new songs, lots of songs. So I can read "playing 3 of 42" or something else. How can I take a look on the songs which are following? I want to see the acti've playlist, so that I can see "Ah, three songs later there will be song "blablabla".
    Is this possible somehow?
    Thanks!Message Edited by san_salvador on 04-4-2006 04:4 PM

    san_salvador,
When you're at the Now Playing screen, tap the scroll pad again and it should show you the list.

  • Just got my white Zen MicroPhoto (warning: large pi

I finally got my white Zen MicroPhoto in from Singapore yesterday (I'm in the USA).
Overall I am very impressed and so far, the only thing that I have found that I'm not really fond of is the size/shape of the screen. It is definitely more of a square than a rectangle, which leads to more of the song info being cut off as opposed to the regular Zen Micro.
The sides and back (battery cover) are now made out of annodized metal instead of plastic. And the hold button, usb port, and headphone jack all seem a lot more sturdy, but at this point in time I'm not willing to do any further testing on that (especially the headphone jack) for obvious reasons.
Also, there is a piece of paper in the box that says the PlaysForSure feature will be available soon via a firmware download.
Feel free to ask me any questions and I will answer them to the best of my ability.
    Cheers, Alex

Yup, I had a 5gb Zen Micro, one of the first ones that came out (and I didn't start having the headphone jack problem with mine until about 0 months after owning it). I cannot notice a difference between the sound quality but I will say the sound quality is greatly affected by which headphones you are using. When switching between the stock head phones and a pair of iPod Headphones, the iPod headphones sounded slightly better but the volume was much lower. I've honestly never listened to any other current MP3 players so I can't make a good comparison there, but I will say there is little if no difference in sound quality between the Zen Micro and the Zen MicroPhoto. I do not find the OLED screen to be dim at all, it's bright enough to be read in almost any condition I've used it in so far. The screen looks very nice, it's not anything spectacular but it shows photos quite nicely, minus the fact that the screen is a little square. I would probably rate it around an 8 but I'm going to take a look at my friends iPod Photo on Monday and see if i can compare.

  • Creative Zen Microphoto froz

    Hi!
I have a Zen Microphoto (8 GB) and was very happy with it until last week. I connected it to my laptop like I did several times before, but it behaved strange: it went on automatically and showed the screen you see when a song is playing, but it did't play. The player was frozen and didn't carge also. I then noticed that my computer didn't recognize it at all, likewise the Creative Explorer. The only possibillitiy to switch it off was to remove the battery.
When I reconected the player, it said "rebuilding libary", but afterwards it fell into the same state again. I left it hooked up to the computer for several hours, but it didn't charge or anything else. I tried all my Usb-ports, I have XP SP 2, the drivers are installed, it worked perfectly fine before and I did not change a single thing on my system.
    Do you have any ideas?
    Thanks a lot,
    Johannes

  • Zen Microphoto: Screen dy

I have a Zen microphoto and just in the last two days I have noticed a gradual blackening of my screen. It started with the left side being darker than the right - rather like the left side had "sunglasses" on or something and now the entire screen is so dark it can barekly be read. The player is playing fine, but I am almost unable to see anything on the screen. My contrast is up at 00% and I can barely read this unit. This is a problem for me as I can't select items and as I listen to a lot of books on MP3, I need the ability to see this so I can bookmark my books and not lose my place. I have had over a year of trouble-free play on this unit and simply love it. Has anyone heard of this problem before?ThanksCarrie

I had the same problem. It wasn't dropped or handled wrong and without warning, one day the screen gets darker and darker and now I can't see anything. It still plays, still charges and the keypad still lights up. I was considering using one of the zen repair services like cherryfusion.com or zenrepair.com but the screen replacement alone would be around $60. With tax, shipping, etc factored in, I'm not sure it would be worth it. Perhaps going to eBay and buying a defecti've model with a good screen and replacing mine? Hopefully there's an easier fix.

Before buying a charger, be sure to test other USB ports on your computer [or on other computers, if one is handy].
Some computers do not provide full power all the USB ports.

  • I cannot get my Zen MicroPhoto out of recovery m

Hello all,?I really need help with my problem. I have a Zen Microphoto v0.0.65 and it has been in recovery mode for awhile. It has never acted up before and I have not dropped it or anything and treated it as a child because it was a birthday gift from May this year. It was working fine for the past few days and when I was listening to it tonight it stopped playing and froze. When this happens I usually shut it off or take out the battery, wait a few minutes and then place it back in and turn it on and it works. I tried doing this first and it didn't work. I then tried cleaning it out and rebooting it and it didn't work either. I did all of the suggestions on this site but nothing has worked it still turns on and goes right to Recovery Mode and I did every one of the tasks on it and it still doesnt work? I have a Dell labtop with Windows XP and my MP3 has been working fine on it since I got it. If I could have some help fast that would be awesome because it was a birthday gift and it cost my parents a lot I am sure and I would hate to have to spend more money on something that was brand new 7 months ago. Thanks for all your input

  • Zen MicroPhoto C

Hi everyone,im new to the forum so i hope this hasnt been posted before (i have searched)...well i ordred a zen microphoto in black on amazon.co.uk couple of days ago. I am now looking around for a suitable case to keep it in. I will be keeping it my uni bag alot so i thoguth a lether case would be better then a silicone cover...
i was wondeirng if the normal zen micro cases would be ok for the new zen microphoto or are these not suitable...also i found this on the uk creative shop http://uk.europe.creative.com/shop/product.asp?prod=07 looks good for the price but again its for the zen micro...how can i find out if its suitable for the zen microphoto?
    well hope someone can help...
    happy new year!

Finally got the case, I really think its a lot better than other options available at local stores for $20. I paid $30 including shipping, and the quality of it is very good. Only complaint is it does indeed cut off the top of the screen, but you can tilt it and see the time if needed. Viewing photos is the major problem because the top is cut off. The case holds the ZMP very nice and snug, and buttons have fairly easy access. There is a nice screen protector, and the keypad is left uncovered. The case uses two thin magents sewn inside the external flaps which provides a nice enclosure. Sorry don't have a camera so can't take pics, but I do recommend it.

  • Help me with my Zen Microphoto.

Ok so here is the situation I ended up getting a Zen Microphoto for my birthday in November, and now I am having a lot of issues with it. . The battery won't charge... I figured that maybe it wasn't charging because the battery was full... well then I would look at the battery icon and it would say that it was almost empty...So I got really confused and I decided to ask my electronics major friend about it and he hooked up the battery to this machine that would say how much voltage a battery was getting, and when we hooked it up the battery said that it had 3.7 volts in it (the battery is a 3.7 volt battery) so that meant that the battery was fully charged, but the Mp3 player was saying that the battery was low and it even said that their was no battery left and it just turned off. and 2. It freezes a lot I don't know if it freezes because there is to much information and it is having difficulting sorting out all the data. I want to know if anybody has any ideas what to do... or maybe I should just return it and get a different one... Thanks for taking the time to read this and I could really use the help right now... so thank you to anyone that responds to this...

Hey, I have a black Zen MicroPhoto and i have already changed mine once. The first time i had it, it kept freezing up on me, tried everything in the recovery menu but didnt help. So the next day i took it back and changed the player and the battery and now I havn't had any problems with it. I would say to go back where you got it, tell them all the problems your having and ask to change the player with a new one.
    Hope that hel

  • How do I convert Itunes purchases to my ZEN MicroPhoto??

Okay, I had an Ipod mini and I went through three of them in the warranty time. I was sorely dissappointed with it, but I got a Creative Labs ZEN microphoto for Christmas and I love it. The only problem is that I have all this music that I downloaded from Itunes and I would love to be able to listen to it on my ZEN. I would still like to keep downloading from Itunes because it's the easiest and most legal downloading site that I have found. I know there are converters online, but I can't ever tell if it's legal or it will work. Does Apple have anything (hopefully free) that converts Itunes for my new ZEN???

Are you saying that iTunes downloads are only compatible with iPod's? That in order to play an iTunes download on anything but an iPod involves either illegal conversion or first burning it to a CD? I, too, just received a Zen Vision M and nowhere in the download, signup or anything else process did I see any mention of the fact that iTunes is not compatible with other software/hardward. Yes, the CD conversion trick works but for the aggrevation and lost time it's cheaper to drive to the store and buy the real thing.
