ZEN microphoto - properly disconnecting

I have an 8 GB Zen microphoto. It works fine and the software works fine as well, I can add, delete songs with my media organizer very well.
The problem i'm having is disconnecting my mp3 player b/c my USB hubs don't recognize the player. Whenever I go to my task bar to 'safely remove my hardware' out of my computer, my player is never listed/recognized. Why is that?
So far, the way I've been removing the player from my computer is simply shutting off my computer and then disconnecting the mp3 player. But I've had it with this method, I want to remove my device properly.
Help anyone?

But even when I close all the programs (I just use the media organizer), it still shines its blue light and the mp3's screen still has a flashing 'Docked' sign.
And still no sign of my 'hardware being recognized' it in my taskbar
I've tried just turning the actual MP3 player off but that doesn't work b/c it's receiving its power from the computer. Can you help some more?

Zen MicroPhoto Problem! [ FIRMWAR

My Zen Microphoto [ 8 gb ] has not been functioning properly. When I turn it on, it displays "Firmware Problem"
Now I have read some other users post about similar problems. However their solution was to ''clean-up & re-format'' the player. However, my Zen gives me no options to do so. I have tried plugging it into my notebook, however, the program doesn't recognize that it is there.

*I have dropped my player a few times, but not with hard force.

In addition, When the screen displays ''Firmware Problem'' it goes frozen-- and cannot shut off [ i remove the battery to shut it off ]

Firmware is like Windows in your computer- it basically 'runs' your .mp3 player.
First select Clean Up and let it complete. It should only take a few moments. Then select Reboot.
Does that fix the problem?
If not, select Format, allow it to complete. Select Reboot.

If neither of those work, select Reload Firmware and reboot.

Do a Clean Boot on your computer.

? Connect the MP3 player to a USB port on the back of the PC.
? Click Download Now next to the firmware upgrade-> Agree-> Save-> Save to Desktop
? When the file download shows Download Complete, click Run
? Click the Upgrade button to start the Firmware installation
? When the firmware upgrade shows Firmware upgrade completed, click Close
Note:
? If the firmware update could not detect the player being connected, unplug the player and plug it in again.
? Do not disconnect the player once the firmware update is in progress.
? When the firmware update is complete, the player will start charging automatically. It will display a charging icon, and the blue power LED will start blinking.

My PC doesn't 'react' when I connect my Zen Microphoto

I'm Michel van Gelder and I have a problem with my Zen Microphoto. I am going to try to explain my problem in proper english, but english isn't my main language, so please forgive me if i make terrible mistakes or something.
My problem is:
If I connect my Zen to my PC it says something like, what do you like to do, but when i click on an option it says: Media Device isn't connected. And also when I connect it, a symbol appears in the right corner, next to all the others, but when I try to do something with it's(with right mouse button or something) it disappears. The result is that, with everything i try, the PC says that my mp3 isn't connected. While 've installed all the software properly etc.
I have this MP3 for 2 years now, and I've never had this problem. Until 2 weeks ago, when we had to reinstall our computer. So my question actually was: Is there something wrong with my Zen or with my PC. And, what can I do about it's

Creative Zen MicroPhoto Error (8

Hi,
I'm from the UK but purchase a Zen MicroPhoto from the USA brand new. I've had it around 3 weeks and its been great but the other day when i went to turn it on the screen froze and it wouldn't boot up the the menu like usual. It is the Creative logo screen in white on the black background, the one with the copyright information.
Anyway i've had it in revocery mode and nothing but the reboot option works but of course it just boots to the same situation except that its just Creative white on black logo with no copyright info. Then freezes at that point. Of course it won't install the new firmware i have as it won't recognize it on the computer because it hasn't booted properly..
Clean up - Freezes and never completes
Reboot Firmware - Freezes.
Formate - Freezes
Reboot- Freezes after attempt.
I've read through a few topics and seen similar things but is there a solution or is my Mp3 player faulty? It seems the optins to sort this out they give you are as good as a chocolate fireguard.
Will i have to send it back to get it sorted and will Creti've UK take it's

If it was something the player could recover from (ie just an error), then the options in Recovery Mode should have done that. It unfortunately sounds like it's faulty.
Contact Customer Support (for the UK), I'm sure they will be able to assist you.

Zen Microphoto won't sync anymore, but is recogni

Firstly let me say my Zen Microphoto has been syncing and working fine right up until now.
I have XP MCE SP2 installed...
But I am thinking perhaps the problem it won't sync is because I upgraded from Windows Media Player 0 to just today?
What happens is it plugs in, and charges. A couple of times the MTP device box pops up asking me what I want to do and I double click on sync with Media Player. However then it goes away and nothing happens, and Media Player cannot detect it -- but nor can Microphoto Media Explorer, so perhaps it is not a problem with Media Player?
I have searched around the forum and the only solution available is to delete the USB devices in Device Manager, reboot and let them reinstall, but I really don't want to do that, I don't know if anything will stuff up or not -- I have resetted the player and performed a scan disc, and it seems fine.

EDIT: When trying to reinstall the driver (with Creative cd in dri've) I now get this message: "A service installation section in this INF is invalid" and it says my hardware may not work properly. Nothing has changed except now I have an exclamation mark on my Creative Zen Microphoto icon in Device Manager and I can't properly install the driver, with the proper cd! This is extremely frustrating!

Hello!?Today, my Zen Microphoto slipped out of my hands and fell down , and then, got no vital signs from it, it doen't turn on. Have I lost my MP3 player? Is there a way to check it's?Thanks

Hey. The only thing to check for is if the recovery mode works properly.
?How to go to recovery mode:?) Take out the battery.2) Slide and hold over the on switch while replacing the battery.
?If the recovery mode comes on, I'd say not TOO much might have happened. But it'd be a smart idea to clean-up and maybe reboot.
?If it doesnt come up, I'd say "shes shot". BTW, It seems to me like the microphotos are great for scratch resistance, but when dropped, you're out of luck bc they usually shoot cra

Zen Microphoto: connection probl

My new Zen Microphoto was connecting to my winXP SP2 machine just fine (no drivers needed) until today, when i decided I would install creative mediasource (newest version from the website). As soon as the install started up, it told me my player wasn't detected, and then since then, I haven't been able to get either of my computers to recognize the player. I'm now thinking: this is a player problem, right? So I formatted. No go. Then i hit "reload firmware" from the recovery screen and it says something like reload firmware using usb. My computer still says it's an unknown USB device. What am I supposed to do now?

Ouch. Reload firmware was a bad thing to choose as it actually deletes the firmware on the player (Creative REALLY need to rename this option).
Now you need to find a firmware for the player, and make sure it's detected by XP properly to reload. You'll need to use reload OS again to prepare the player.
If you can't find a firmware in the download section, which is entirely possible as the player is very new, you'll need to contact Creative support to get one.

How to properly disconnect a Mini Display Port (MDP) from a Macbook Pro 2012, 1,9?

I was wondering if any Macxperts out there had any idea on how to properly disconnect a MDP Thunderbolt Cable from a 2012 1,9 Gen. Macbook Pro. From my experience with older Macbooks the command was "Command + F7" or something of the sort.
On my Macbook Pro 2012, there is no such button or commend to properly disconnect the plug; as if one were to disconnect or "eject" an external HD. I have read some articles on Google that some people just disconnect the plug and that action is sufice to disconnect an external video projection (Ex: Flat Screen Samsung).
Can a Macxpert or Genius comment on this piece of information? I would really apprecite some light shed on this situation. I just don't see unpluggin a cable connected to a video source enough to properly shut off a connection with out damaging the Macbook Pro's video card.

How do I convert Itunes purchases to my ZEN MicroPhoto??

Okay, I had an Ipod mini and I went through three of them in the warranty time. I was sorely dissappointed with it, but I got a Creative Labs ZEN microphoto for Christmas and I love it. The only problem is that I have all this music that I downloaded from Itunes and I would love to be able to listen to it on my ZEN. I would still like to keep downloading from Itunes because it's the easiest and most legal downloading site that I have found. I know there are converters online, but I can't ever tell if it's legal or it will work. Does Apple have anything (hopefully free) that converts Itunes for my new ZEN???

Are you saying that iTunes downloads are only compatible with iPod's? That in order to play an iTunes download on anything but an iPod involves either illegal conversion or first burning it to a CD? I, too, just received a Zen Vision M and nowhere in the download, signup or anything else process did I see any mention of the fact that iTunes is not compatible with other software/hardward. Yes, the CD conversion trick works but for the aggrevation and lost time it's cheaper to drive to the store and buy the real thing.

Hi everyone, my friend was considering a Zen Vision M and an Ipod video. I kinda suggested the Zen so he got it and absolutely loves it.
After seeing how nice the Zen Vision M is, I jumped on this MicroPhoto when I saw a sale and it is awesome!
The Zen MicroPhoto is a really good device, but just simple firmware stuff could make it a great one.
.) Ability to view pictures + listen to music
2.) Ability to view movies and video (the Muvo has smaller capacity and a screen with less colors and it can? Yet we are buying a nicer mp3 player than the Muvo but can't do video? The Sansa is small as hell and it can. It has the screen, hardware wise it should be able to do it, and if this is added through a firmware update, it won't be on the packaging and thus will not hurt sales of your other products.
I hate it when an awesome product is created and is capable of something and the manufacturer slashes that ability from it intentionally.
Another good example is the Gen III Ford Taurus SHO, its 3.4 liter Yamaha V8 was capable of revving well over 7500RPM and producing more than 30hp. Ford however, even though they had this jewel of an engine, intentionally cut its ability down to 235hp or else they feared it would be faster than their Mustang GT. What a shame, I hate to see that Creative is doing the same with the MicroPhoto.
3.) Ability to record FM with the latest firmware (If this is a RIAA issue, then please provide two firmwares and two download links, one that says "United States Users" and one that says "Non-US users"
4.) Ability to control different aspects of the glowing blue LEDs. They are obviously firmware controlled and can have brightness adjusted since they glow in and out when you have it plugged into the USB cable.
5.) Make it show up on your computer as a removable disk. On all my other MP3 players, it showed up just like a flash dri've and you could drag and drop whatever you wanted onto it, and it would just play whatever files on there it could play. Here, it won't let me drag and drop anything that is copy protected or is a different file type.
I know you can set aside 4 gigs of that for this purpose, but with the size of the files and videos I transfer, it would be nice if I could use all 8 gigs. Perhaps an option to just let the whole thing show up as a removable flash dri've?
*ok... I just tried it and that seems to be working on this computer that is Windows XP SP2 with WMP, but on the school computer that was XP SP2 with WMP0, it would not allow me to do this.

I think you will find that the reason the MicroPhoto is on sale is that it is now a legacy player (it was released before anybody could play video). I doubt very much that any further improvements will be coming....
EQ does have an effect... Maybe you earphones are not working well?

I turned it on like i do everyday to listen to music on my way to school. i downloaded the newest version of firmware onto it'sthree days before. when i turned it on, it went into recovery mode. so i went to reboot, and it goes back into recovery mode. i tried about 3 times, then it disabled all the functions. i couldn't control anything. so i took out the battery, and left it until i came home. i come home, put in the battery, turn it on. i plug it in the computer, and the computer does not reconize that its docked and the screen goes white and then it shuts off by itself. then it just freezes, it refuses to turn on. i tell my friend?yesterday at school and he said the hard dri've crashed and now i have a brick the size of a zen microphoto. is this true, or?is something else wrong with it. please someone help if you can. one method i saw and tried worked well but you need to try it at your own risk!!! turn off your microphoto, grab your microphoto with the screen facing you, and either slap your hand against the SIDE of your microphoto, or slap the SIDE of your microphoto against your hand. This method works for me but try it at your own risk. it could damage your hard disk. (its probably already damaged anyways.)and if you really need to turn off your Zen but it wont turn off, i suggest removing the battery.

Creative Zen Microphoto 8GB hangs

I have seen a lot of posts on the same subject here, but have not seen any resolution yet.
I am sure the story sounds familiar... hangs at "Creative" logo, I go into recovery mode, and run scan disk or format etc... They don't work. I have even left the player on "formatting" overnight until the battery drains and it never finishes, same goes for "Scanning".
I am on my 4th player now and am having the same issue again. This time the player is now out of warranty so I can't return it, and I am not paying money out of my own pocket to get this thing fixed. Please don't tell me this product is defecti've... I don't buy that excuse. And it isn't a corrupt file, because a reformat would fix that.
Once it hangs, my computer won't recognize it, so I can't even try to update the firmware or anything.
Any new updates or information on this issue? It is obviously a well documented problem...just google "Creative zen freezes" and see how any hits you get!
I am pretty disappointed with this player. I should have followed my gut instinct in the first place, and just bought an iPod. I spent a lot of money on this paper weight. Any help,advice,prayers,or donation$ (for a new iPod) would ge greatly appreciated!

Right you will need to download the latest firmware from this site.
Here is a hyperlink to where you can download the firmware:

You might have to put some details in.
Once you have downloaded the latest firmware just start the program up.
Plug in your Zen into the PC and then press the "Reload Firmware" button on your Zen.
You should see your computer screen pick it up.
Then you click on your PC to install firmware.
That should be it.

Creative zen microphoto booting probl

My creative zen microphoto wont load. It's just a black screen with the creative logo. I have tried to format it from the recovery mode but that freezes too. Can anyone tell me any possible solutions to this problem?

Creative Zen MicroPhoto has cras

My Creative Zen MicroPhoto fell foot onto the floor.
When i restarted- it compiled library for a 0 seconds and then continues to open as normal.
All my music and recordings do not appear in the menu system anymore. When i do a system check my stuff still takes up 3gb of storage but no files appear.
I have tried rebooting and clean up etc but still no joy.
I have tried the Recovery tool - but my laptop does recognize the device when i connect using USB.
Some of the recording of lectures and conferences are important to me.
Is there anyway of retrieving these?

How are you transferring the music? Can you describe exactly what you do? For instance what software you use, what steps you follow to transfer the music...
