Zen Mosaic 2 GB?

When I plug my Zen into any computer Creative says that I have no songs, pictures or videos on my Zen and will not allow me to put anything on it. When the Zen is unplugged it works perfectly fine, and I have all of my songs, my Zen isn't full but Creative still will not allow me to put any songs on it.( There is 245 songs on my zen but I still have 746 MB remaining) I am confused, any help or ideas will be greatly apprecited.:smileysurprised:

Hi Greatdanelover,
Welcome to Creative forums!
Try cleaning up your player. Boot from the recovery mode and do a Clean Up then Reboot.
Turn off your player.
Press and hold http://72.3.254.242/ask.creative.com...playpause2.jpg.
Continue to hold until you perform the 3rd Step. If you accidentally release the button, start the procedure again by turning the player off normally. If the player freezes, press the Reset button on the player to turn it OFF.
Slide the On/Off/Lock switch towards http://72.3.254.243/ask.creative.com..._xfi/power.jpg and hold until the display lights up. The Recovery Mode screen appears, and four menu items are shown: Clean Up, Format All, Reload Firmware and Reboot.
Hope this hel
ps.

  • Error connecting my Creative Zen Mosaic to my computer

When I try to connect my Zen Mosaic to my computer and install the hardware, I get this error: "Cannot Install this Hardware. There was a problem installing this hardware: MTP Device An error occurred during the installation of the device. The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect."
I have tried changing USB ports.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the device.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Creative Centrale software.
I am running Windows XP with the Service Pack 3.
I do have Windows Media Player .
?I don't know what else to do. I don't have another computer to try it with at the moment.

:? I listed the error I get above. This is the error I get when I try to install the drivers through device manager and/or the hardware wizard. I can't find any other information aside from this. If there's another place to look, please let me know.
    This is the error:
"Cannot Install this Hardware. There was a problem installing this hardware: MTP Device An error occurred during the installation of the device. The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect."
I did try formatting the device (although there is nothing on it yet because I haven't been able to get it to connect) I also rebooted it. I am hesitant to remove the firmware since I can't get it to connect to the computer. I'm not sure if I would be able to put the firmware on it again if my computer won't recognize it. And I'm not sure if the problem is my PC or the player. If it's my PC, I'd really be out of luck then!

  • Multiple problems with Zen Mosaic - it is a rip off

I have recently purchased the Zen Mosaic and have had nothing but trouble. Creative Centrale frequently hangs, the device stops responding, it accepts only some MP3 files, and it goes into shutdown while connected to the PC. I have done all the steps the tech support line has suggested, including clean up, reformatting and reloading firmware. Since I have misplaced my original receipt, it appears as though I cannot even return it to the company for repair. Help! I am stuck and feeling really ripped off by this company and their products.

    Hi Glan,
You can contact the place of purchase for a reprint of the receipt. Support just need some sort of verification to justify the date of purchase.

  • MP3 Zen stone and zen mosaic: compatibility with Sony Microsystems

    ? Hi there,
I was given a Zen Stone (basic model) almost two years ago as a present. In Christmas of 2008, I purchased a Zen Mosaic 8gb model which plays music, videos and photos. THis Christmas i received as a gift a Sony CMT HX80R micro system. This unit has the capacity to play i pod and MP3 via a USB port. Upon trying the Mosaic I received the message on the screen of the Sony saying "not supported". But when I played the Zen Stone, it loaded up perfectly and played with no problems. I am not super tech minded but surely if there was a model the Sony wouldn't recognise; surely it should have been the Stone as it's the older technology? Can anyone offer an exp[lanatiuon please? or is there some kind of patch I can put into the Mopsaic to make the Sony read it's
    Thanks in anticipation.

Hi JLM, am running .0.05e fine and in fact listening to it at the moment. Is there anyway you can regress back to .0.03 to test your theory? Testing a bunch of 28k CBR MP3s is an easy thing to try also.Message Edited by BlueRobin on 0-02-200802:49 PM

  • Zen Mosaic Hold Button Broke

I have a Zen Mosaic and the hold button doesn't lock into place anymore. It just slides back and forth so the only way I can turn it on is to hook it up to a computer or a charger. Is there some way I can fix this?

No I haven't. I was hoping I could just pop the top off of it and put it back in place. I'm not sure how it happened. But It was in the bottom of one of my bags so it may have gotten dropped and that may have been how it happened

  • Zen Mosaic Battery Problems

I purchased a brand new Zen Mosaic on Ebay a few weeks ago. The battery life on my new Zen Mosaic is really low. Even after letting the player charge all night, I only get about 4 hours of playback before the battery dies. I've set the backlight level to 0%, and I never listen to the volume at more than half power (2 out of 25 max). I've tried reinstalling the firmware, reformatting the player, and letting the battery run out and recharging it again to jump start the battery. Nothing works. Since this thing is advertised to have over 30 hours of power, I am not at all satisfied. I think I have a faulty product. What can I do?

    That statement is inaccurate.
It is marketed with the phrase "up to 30 hours [of] continuous audio playback." Like all marketing numbers that establishes the absolute upper limit under ideal laboratory conditions (i.e. source material that isn't particularly hard to decode, no user interaction with the device during the battery burn-down test, player configured with settings to most favor battery life, etc.). In other words it in no way reflects typical end-user operating conditions. Meanwhile, it also says "up to 5 hours [of] continuous video playback" which is, again, an absolute upper limit of possibility.
Unless you're configuring the player to allow it to turn the display off entirely you're basically operating it in "video playback mode." The screen is going to be the highest drain on the battery life (even at only 0% brightness). So your 4 hours of typical use is reasonably consistent with a theoretical maximum of 5 hours of video playback use under ideal conditions. If you allow the player to turn the display off (which typically means putting a Creative player into "locked" mode) you'll likely see much better battery life during audio-only playback. However, you're still never going to see anything close to 30 hours. I'd guess no more than about half that.

  • Zen/Mosaic Player Tracklist

    Hi there!
I have a Zen Mosaic player and it happens that when I upload certain?audio books?the tracks?appear?on the playlist in the order 222333... How can I make them appear i the 232323 order?

I think the numbers you are seeing are the track titles.
The player lists the tracks by track number, and if there is no track number in the tag, it lists them in alfabetical order.
You can edit the tags and give each track a number under "track #".

  • Screen failure on Creative Zen Mosaic

My screen quit working on my Mosaic. ?It lights up, but it has odd patterns and lines in it. ?I didn't drop it or anything, and I have no idea what to do. ?I have tried resetting and powering it off and on. ?I even tried to run down the battery and nothing works. ?It still plays just fine, but I can't make anything out on the display. ?The player is less than 3 months old. ?I emailed Creative's support desk 3 days ago, but they have not gotten back to me. ?Has anyone else had this problem?

This is good to hear. I am now on my third Zen, First I had a Zen Creative M, the screen died in about a years and one month. Then I got a Zen Stone, (figuring I'd get a new screened Zen later) but didn't miss the video feature that much..screen died in (again) one year..this time almost to the day. Looking through a jeweler's loop I could see a small micro-crack in about the middle of the screen..just like you, player worked fine but I had no clue where I was or ect. So then I got a Zen Creative..the screen was dead out of the box, luckily I was able to return it. I am also finding that almost no stores in my area carry the Creative line anymore. Since I'd spent the money at the store, I tried a mosaic, the only other product they had..it works, but has far less capacity than i wanted and I am less than happy I'll need to get accessories like a carry-case seperately.
This is the lsat time I purchase a Zen.. I regret that, because the reason I love the Creti've line is for the Zencasts.
This screen issue seems to be "Creative-wide" according to several big-box retailers I spoke to and they all recommended I get a different brand. I am very sad about the whole thing and disappointed in creative for cheapening the screens.

  • No audio without headset zen mosaic EZ100

I have a brand new mosaic EZ100. It looks like everything works great except for the sound. With headphones on, the audio is great. Without them, nothing. I'm guessing that this is a setting somewhere that I need to go in and change. Can anybody help me?

    Hi falconsbride,
Can you check the model of your player? The built-in speaker is available on selected models.
If yours came with it, refer to the diagram on how to turn on/off the speaker.

  • Zen Mosaic Shuts down

The problem is I turn the Mosaic on and it goes to the book .wma I'm listening to and 2 minutes or less the player shuts off. The on/off switch doesn't work, you can see a light inside the player and I have to press the reset button to make it turn on again. I have it set for 5 minute shut off, but I don't even get 2 minutes usually the first time I turn it on every day.
I've tried using the )turn player off; 2)press/hold play AND slide switch on.....this doesn't work AT ALL.

Check in your "Player Settings"...you might have set the Sleep timer "ON"...Just turn it off.
If not...recommend update your software and firmware.
    Good luck

  • Suggestions and ideas Mosaic EZ300

I created this thread bcz I think Users opinion is very important for programeers and updates
So, when I get first contact with Zen Mosaic EZ 300 I can't glean (understand) where are my folders with music because there were only Playlists, Albums, Artists, Genres and All tracks, but where can I get my system of sorting my files ?
SUGGESTION -Music assortment is BAD. You can sort music only by
    Albums
    Artists
Genres => tahtats all BUT =>
=> If I had 4000 unnammed songs (in file properties) I'll have to name (give themname) them one by one to sort in by genre, album, interpret ..(awful).. stupid ...
I have solution for this... If you can add new function to menu of sorts ...
    e.g. :
    Albums
    Artists
    Genres
Folder navigation - I thing this can solve much problems with seleting songs.
    Music - Now playing
    Playlist
    Albums
    Artists
    Genres
Folder navigation - if you choose this option you will see root of memory or you can start searching from music folder
( you will see your hierarchy of songs (files) that you transfered to player)
    ZEN:\Music\Folder +
    \my songs +
\rock + (if you select rock, that will you move to:ZEN:\Music\rock )
    \disco +
    Do you understad me?
If you dont understad, I mean the same system of navigation which is in pictures.
    (Picture e.g. will be soon)

  • Mosaic is constantly freezing :(

I got a Zen Mosaic in Christmas '08 and it was fine until about March of this year. It freezes constantly and won't let me turn it off. Also, when I do get it to turn off it turns it self right back on. I then have to press reset at least 10 times until it will finally go off and stay off. I have the latest firmware and just don't know what else to do. Any help would be appreciated. THNX!

You stated on your original post that you were able to turn off the player. Once you succesfully turn it off, you can then follow the instructions I posted in my post above. The problem could be related to corrupt data on the player causing it to freeze most of the time so cleaning up helps remove corrupted entries.
