    Hello Jodimom,

  • Creative Zen Mozaic EZ100 stuck on 'rebuilding' screen

    Hi,
I bought my Creative Zen Mozaic EZ00 in February and yesterday, after adding files to it and disconnecting the usb, it went onto the 'rebuilding' screen and became stuck there. I reset it and when I turned it back on, it stuck on the same screen once again. I have tried accessing the recovery menu, but it won't appear.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    LK

:Mine does this sometimes. i tried to recovery mode-nothing worked. tried firmware-nothing. so i deleted everything on my ZEN Mozaic and unplugged and waited for it to load up and then i plugged it on the USB and aded my music and took it off and it worked. but i hate to do this everytime.

  • Creative Zen 8gb stuck in 'rebuilding' scr

Whenever I turn on my sister's creative zen it goes straight to the 'rebuilding screen'. The bar moves up about a fifth of the way then freezes.
I have tried every bit of advice I could find, i.e. i've gone into recovery mode, done the scan disk, format, and reload firmware, all to no avail.
I downloaded the latest firmware (ZEN_PCFW_L22__2_0e) and tried to upgrade the player to this via recovery mode, but i keep getting 'upgrade failed'.
The only way I can even get my computer to even recognise the player is by going into recover mode.
I'm sunning Vista...the player was working fine for a few months and this happened out of the blue, according to her.
Is there anything else I can try or is this a hardware issue?
    Please help!!!!

Yes, about a million times at this stage. When it gets stuck on the rebuilding screen I have no other way of turning it off than to reset it.Message Edited by BleakestH on 09-07-2008 04:05 AM

When you format the player, all the contents will be deleted. There's really a hardware problem with the player and the only way to fix it is to send the unit for repair. Try contacting support on the link I provided above.

  • Can't see Zen Mozaic content in Windows Explorer

After installing Creative Centrale, I updated my Mozaic firmware to the 64 bit 7 OS. Now, I can no longer see all my Zen Mozaic content in Windows Explorer.
All the songs and playlists are still on the Mozaic, but I only see about 15 songs of the approximately 1000 songs on the Mozaic using Explorer.
Restored my computer to earlier date, and results are same. Have 64bit 7 OS.
I plugged my wife's Zen Mozaic into the same computer and all the songs are visible through Windows explorer.

    Hello Mike,
    Welcome to Creative forums!
Try cleaning up your player. Run the recovery mode (refer to my post here on how to boot from the recovery mode, #25 for plain Mozaic and #26 for Mozaic EZ series) and select CleanUp->Reboot. See if that helps.

  • ZEN Mozaic and Playli

I just got a new Zen Mozaic. It seems a lot harder to make a playlist then on my Zen V Plus. How can you make a playlist fast and easy like on the Zen V Plus where you copy the file? (MP3 podcasts in my case) to the player, click on the Zen V Series Media Explorer and right there you could edit a playlist and add the new files?
What I do is copy the files inside of their download folders (I use RSSRadio as my RSS reader), so the show name is the folder name. Copy the folder to the player, under a folder named 'podcasts'. Now when I look in Creative Centrale I can not find how to display by folder location to do a simple drag and drop into a playlist.
The Creative Centrale seems way crazy, and hard to figure out. It was very easy on the Zen V Plus. What am I missing? What is the simple way to make a playlist?
    Anyone have the same problem?

Re: ZEN Mozaic and Playlists4 I totally agree that the Creative Centrale is not a user friendly program.. I haven't used the Zen before this.. I have the Zen EZ300 Mozaic and I can't seem to figure out how to get my audio books into Creative Centrale..
So far I'm still working at trying to get any books to show up in there.
I'm use to an iPod for one thing , got the Zen for my husband..
I may have the settings wrong in the Creative program ,don't know for sure though.
The instructions that came with the Zen, are to me just awful..they don't tell me much of anything.
I found this website and it has helped me a lot so far as using the Zen player.

  • Zen Mozaic 8GB, the same Album Art shows up on every f

My Zen Mozaic froze last Sunday but I brought it back to life using that wonderful reset button (or whatever it's called). It works as it should except for one thing - every single music file appears to belong to the same album. This might not have been an issue if it wasn't for the fact that I actually have more than one album on my player. Also, some of the tracks doesn't even belong to an album at all since I recorded them myself using Audacity. Thus, I am quite sure that something is wrong.
The background image when playing any file changes to this album image, and when I click the white button a few times to change to the playlist, the album image pops up again (as it normally should... If the song actually belonged to the album). The image used should normally only be present on one track though this one track, according to Creative Centrale, doesn't even have an album image. :smileyvery-happy:
I removed the song that naturally should have that album image, turned the player off and on again but the problem is still there. This never happened before the player froze. I attempted to bribe the player, but it didn't help either.
Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this?

  • How do I recreate Bridge Cache after Purge?  Stuck on rebuilding criteria.

Bridge had a problem and displayed alert that central cache should be purged, which I did.  Having closed it out and reopened, it is stuck on "rebuilding criteria".  Have left it on for 12 hours and exited program.  Using  a Macbook pro, OS X 10.8.4

I paste below the solution to my own very similar problems - having just lost a day and most of the night thinking of possible solutions I hope I can save you some time . . . Good luck
    I HAVE THE ANSWER!
Apologies for shouting but this is my solution:
    1) Make sure the 'good' files are backed up first
    2) As Winston said, turn off icloud in pages and icloud settings
    3) As Winston said, reboot any devices
    4) The solution . . . open Safari browser and sign in to icloud - the key here, is that I was previoulsy using Google Chrome as my browswer. I saw ALL my files there, included the ghost files that were not visible in Chrome. I deleted the lot, one by one. When I switched icloud back onto ipad and iphone all the ghosts were gone. iCloud is working on all three devices (PC included) and I have cancelled my Genius Bar appointment (hopefully not too early). I hope this saves others the day and night its taken me!!

  • Windows Vista 32 wont pick up Zen Mozaic, HELP!!!

    Hi.
I recently got the Zen Mozaic 4gb. I download the software from the disc and installed it. The player itself has firmware version .04.06 installed but i cant even update that as the PC wont pick it up. Ive checked in the device manager and it isnt even showing there. I know the USB port is working.
I have windows vista home premium, 32 bit OS.
    Anyone?

    Hello Tazdogue,
    Welcome to Creative forums,
Are you using a USB hub? If yes, try connecting it directly to your computer. If you are connecting your player at the front ports, try using the rear USB port. A lot of people are reporting having detection issues when using the front USB ports. Another thing you can also try is use another USB cable (if you have a spare cable). See if that hel
    ps.

  • Itunes 8 how to get video out of there to Zen mozaics

I am totally?lost. Anyone have help to tell me step by step for itunes 8 how to get the kids video of Jonas bros to the creative Zen Mozaics. This is hard for me HELP . Thanks Stephanie a Mom in crisis LOL

Please first check the the format of the kid video that you would like to play on the Creative Zen, then follow the guide below, i'm sure you can make it easily.
How to convert video to Creative Zen compatible
You have a portable video/audio player, lets say a fancy Creative Zen, which you got as a gift from your friends or you bought for yourself, and would like to watch your favorite movies or just listen to the beautiful music using it's Sometimes you might encounter such an embarrassing situation as you are trying to playback a certain file format (video/audio) on it, but it just cant work out. Creative Zen video converter is just the program you need. It is a simple yet powerful Video to Creative Zen converter software that can convert almost all video/audio formats to Creative Zen compatible format and enables you to solve these problems quite easily with a few mouse clicks.
The Creative ZEN is a range of digital audio players (DAPs) and portable media players. All players are compatible with MP3 and WMA, while various models support WAV and Audible files. They are nati'vely compatible with Windows, while the current players exclusi'vely support Windows XP and Vista. They also support various other formats: Video: iMJPEG, WMV, and AVI (MPEG-4 SP, DivX, Xvid), while MPEG-, and MPEG-2 are supported, but must be transcoded with the included software (Video must not exceed the player's dimensions at 320240 pixels); Audio: MP3, AAC (unprotected ".m4a"), WMA (including protected), WAV, and Audible 2, 3, and 4 formats.
At the moment when you feel you got what you wanted of using Creative Zen video converter, there are reasons to save your project, in case if you want to change any adjustments and settings late, or a desire to get the resulting video as soon as possible. The both things will seem to be a trifle to do if to follow the steps below.

  • My Zen Mozaic turns on and switches off

I've got a zen mozaic 4gb and all of a sudden it started turning on by itself, and turning off. I uploaded the firmware again and i did reset al the settings as well, but it's still doing that.
    What else should I do?

    Hello Avalon,
    Welcome to Creative forums!
Formatting the player would be your last resort but this will delete all the contents on the player. If you have it save somewhere on your computer, you can always transfer it back later.
Boot the player from the recovery mode and select format.
    Turn off your player.
    Press and hold .
Continue to hold until you perform the 3rd Step. If you accidentally release the button, start the procedure again by turning the player off normally. If the player freezes, press the Reset button on the player to turn it OFF.
Slide the On/Off/Lock switch towards and hold until the display lights up. The Recovery Mode screen appears, and four menu items are shown: Clean Up, Format All, Reload Firmware and Reboot.
If this doesn't work, you may need to get in touch with tech support and have your unit repaired.

  • Playing videos on Zen Mozaic

I have a 6gb Zen Mozaic and I am having trouble finding videos that I can put on the player. I looked at the format of the sample videos that came with the player and they are .avi format so I tried to upload a few other .avi video files to the player and I got an error that said it cannot play that format...
Is .avi the only video file type supported or can it play other types of video files? Is there a video converter I can use to fix this? Which one works the best? And why won't it play the .avi file I tried to upload?
    Thanks for the support

AVI doesn't say everything. Inside the AVI file there can be different video and audio formats. The AVI files you uploaded to the player probably won't play because they have an unsupported video or audio format in them.
The Mosaic only supports MJPEG as a video format, and the screen is 60 x 28 pixels. So I would try converting it to AVI, choose MJPEG as video format and set the resolution to 60x28 (or try higher, it will improve the quality but there is a limit where the player doesn't play it anymore..). Also set the aspect ratio to "full" or something similar, to prevent it from cutting off your video. And set the audio to mp3.
I like Format Factory (http://www.formatoz.com/). Although there is a drop-down list for the resolutions and bitrate, you can also just type it in that box and it will work.
Xmedia Recode is also a good one, it has about the same options (except hardcoding subtitles).
