Zen MX and recovery mode

I can't find a way to boot the my Zen MX in recovery mode and can't find any info about that in the Creative site. The steps listed for the Zen (not MX9 did not work because the MX have not the power switch thus I can't hold down the play button and move the power switch because in the MX the play button IS the power switch!

i have an IPhone 3gs which was working fine and one day computer ,after connecting my iphone there was no beep sound and no disk drive. and itunes and other softwares are not detecting it even though it is charging fine.

Whats the difference between DFU mode and recovery mode ?
I want to do a clean install of the new ios 8.1.3 which the mode is the best ? I want to make it as a new one (someone else used it before)

If you already have 8.1.3 on your device, there is no way (and no need) to reinstall it. However, if you want the device cleared of all former user's info, then go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Settings. Then you can set your device up as new.
If you are having issues with the previous owner's iCloud account still being signed on and asking for a password, there is no way around that save having the previous owner remove the Activation Lock.

Hold the Home + Power button simultaneously for 10 to 30 seconds. Your device should boot into it's original state. If it doesn't, put your device into DFU mode (Google/Youtube how to do so.), and restore your device.

Zen Micro not booting up and recovery mode doesn't do anyth

I just got my Zen Micro yesterday and it worked fine until the second battery charging.
I charged it using the AC adapter. When it finished charging I tried to turn it on but it wouldn't go past the Createi've log (the second screen after the one with the copyright notice)
Since then I've tried all the options in the recovery menu but they don't seem to have any effect. (The recovery mode displays "Creative Zen Micro v0.0.58 at the top)
I tried "clean up" and gave it at least 30 minutes but it didn't finish.
I tried "reload firmware" but after some time I took out the battery and it still gets stuck at the second Creative screen. I don't get the firmware error screen.
Also tried the format and reboot options... nothing.
Yesterday I upgraded the firmware to .02.05 firmware and didn't have any problems. All the software also worked fine on my WinXP machine.
Would appreciate your help.

I've had the exact same problems as GregL, except that I have the original firmware that came with the Zen Micro (I was planning to upgrade it until this whole mess happened).
I charged it fully a few times, and it'd been working fine for about fi've days, and now, I can't get past the "Creative" logo screen! Recovery menu works, but the options don't seem to get anywhere. They never get past "Erasing Firmware", "Scan Disk", and the like. I've tried rebooting and I've tried removing the battery, but nothing has changed.
Does anyone know what might be wrong with my Zen Micro?

Zen Micro Photo Recovery Mode Problem !! Help needed plea

I just purchased a white zen micro photo last week. As I was putting music onto my ZMP, my computer ( Dell Windows XP ) froze. I disconnected my player and when I went to turn on my ZMP, I found out that it went into Recovery Mode. I tried all the possible ways that it listed to do.
Clean Up (when I pressed that one, nothing happened .. the screen didn't even change)</LI>
Format All (When I pressed that one, the screen seemed to .. freeze .. but it had a smear of lines .. ?)</LI>
Reload Firmware (I never had firmware on my ZMP to begin with)</LI>
Reboot (It turned off and It turned back on like it's supposed to but when it turned back on, it was in recovery mode again)</LI>
My ZMP does not even turn off. This is wasting the battery so please help me. I have emailed Creative but they have not replyed yet.

You must have had firmware on there if it worked, but "reload firmware" actually erases the firmware. It's a badly named function.
Unfortunately though you've tried all you can as a user. The player sounds faulty and you ought to contact Creative support for a replacement.

Zen Micro crash - recovery mode does not w

Well - in the nearly 2 years I've had my Zen Micro with no real problems - it finally crashed on me big time.
The other night I plugged it in to my computer's USB port to recharge. Every so often, it will not "dock" and I have to unplug it and plug it in again - no big deal. This time, it did not connect, and I did not notice, and it sat connected in that state for about 24-36 hours before I noticed it. Now, the unit is completely frozen - when trying to start it up, it only gets to the second screen (with the CREATIVE logo only) and then just sits and stares back at me. Nothing has worked in recovery mode, either re-boot or disc clean up. I even tried to just erase those whole thing but both format and clean up finctions do not work either. It just sits there idly.
Is there any other way to force a reset on the unit's Should I try to re-install the firmware (in the latter case - I'm not sure if I can if it won't reach the point of docking with my PC).
Any advice would be appreciated.

Well, I'm not sure if it's reassuring or just depressing that I'm not alone here. Exact same problem - after over a year of working great, I turned it on a couple days ago and the stupid thing froze on the "Creative" screen. Every time I restart it, same thing, plus I noticed that it makes a little boinging skippy noise. Anything you choose in recovery mode, it just freezes. Also, I've noticed that it now smells weird. As if, perhaps, electronics have become slightly singed.
Bah! At this point I think I might try Ouija's method. Even the Creative FAQ suggests it as a last resort!

If you can hear the hard dri've repeatedly clicking at the end of the start up chances are the heads or related mechanics are jammed in some way. At your own risk you can try and free this by firstly powering the player down, then giving it a hard slap on the side. An alternati've and less drastic approach is to hold it in your outstretched arm with the screen towards you and twist your wrist back and forth as quickly as you can."
I've already given it a shake, and no results. But I can hear something rattling inside, which I'm sure is a great sign. :/
If smacking doesn't work, then I guess I'll have to buy a Nano at the Boxing Day sales... How sad that even now I would probably buy a Creative over one of those ugly ass Shuffle things and the annoyance of iTunes. I have no principles whatsoever. I would never drop more than $00 on one again though. And no more harddri've players. At least I've got a nice white $250 paperweight for my desk now...

Please help - Formatted the dri've and tried to update firmware due to an apparant firmware problem but now it doesn't even connect to my computer properly and won't exit out of recovery mode. Don't know what I'm after doing! It's almost 3 years old and never had any issues with it until yesterday

The resource below will provide the steps to restore your iPhone. You may need to repeat steps 1 through 3 a couple of times to put your device in recovery mode. If you see an iTunes error, please make a note of exactly what it is and reply to this thread with that information.

In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":
*do not clear Browsing History

Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.
You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder that store session data.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them).

If you use cleanup software like CCleaner then check the settings for the Firefox application.

IOS 7.0.2 update and "Recovery Mode"

I recently updated to iOS 7.0.2 on my iPad. While downloading, an error occurred and my iPad was said to be in "Recovery Mode" and had to be restored. Could it be hacked or damaged? Further more, can any iPhone, iPod, or iPad get be infected if not jailbroken?

Currently there's no known virus affecting iPad as long as you don't Jailbreak your iPad.

My sister was using my iphone for games and somehow made a passcode, she doesnt know what she did to do this and now we cant get into the phone, we tried with recovery mode and it seemed to do the trick until it finished and then returned back to the passcode screen. help me please!

Then you never really got into recovery mode, it can take several attempts. Read here:

Problems with iOS7.0.3 and recovery mode

hey there apple users. recently i tried to update my itunes on winndows 7 and get iOS7.0.3 for my ipad 2 from my computer. my iPad 2 is now stuck in something called recovery mode and is not recognised as an iPad by my computer (meaning i cant sync), and all attempts to restart my ipad or get rid of the screen telling me to connect to iTunes have failed. i think (correct me if im wrong) this happened because i had to pack up at some piont, when the download for IOS7.0.3 on my computer was finished and iTunes said "preparing download", i had to stop the download/upload and go. later when i tried to resume it, i plugged my iPad in to the computer but it did not show up on itunes. i looked on the iTunes help site (this is the one i was looking on: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808?viewlocale=en_US ) and its help involved the computer recognising the iPad. can anyone help? i would like very much to be able to use my ipad and not have to replace it ( and it is still fairly expensive here in Australia), so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you shure that your computer using the right drivers to your ipad?
If not, open devices (windows key and break) select devices.
There is a icon not working, right click on it, select "update drivers" and point to this path:
"c:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers\"
Select the usbaapl64.inf file and confirm.
Then the right drivers is installed again, and you device properly working again on your computer.
Please write back if not working...

Creative Zen coming up Recovery Mode. Hel

Everything was working ok then i dropped it on the carpet and when i switched on my Zen 20GB it automatically comes up Receovery Mode now. I've tried the Reboot option - No luck. I've tried Disk Clean Up - Nothing Happens. I haven't tried the 3rd option via a computer because i don't have access to a computer. Although i did choose the option to see what happens and it says "Harddisk Problem". I haven't tried format all. Is there any reason why this would have come up? How can i fix it's Or do i have to do the format all (nooooo!). Or simply do i have to get a new one?

Hard disk problem is a serious error as you can probably guess, and means the player can't communicate properly with the hard disk. You need to get it replaced by Creative, although what you tell them is between you and your conscience.
