Zen Neeon "File System Err

Hey all,
Well last night my computer crashed and i had to reformatted me not knowing my neeon was plugged in still i unplugged it and went to play it after the format.. Now it just plays the start theme which says Zen Neeon and the flashing lights the it says "File System Error" then says saving settings then turns off.
Anyone got any idea on if this can be fixed and how?.

What's recover mode? I've done this...
Detach your player from your PC , and ensure that it is turned off.
Close all acti've applications (for example, Internet Explorer, Windows Explorer, or Windows Media Player etc), as well as background applications such as Norton anti-virus applications.
Download the latest device driver if you have not installed any drivers for your player.
Double click on the file MStorage_PCDRV_LB__07_00_250 to install it. Follow the instructions on the screen.
Hold down the Play/Pause button while connecting the player to a PC's USB port.
When the Creativelogo appears on its screen, release the Play/Pause button. The player is now in Player Recovery Mode.

Creative Zen Neeon "File System Err

Hi just bought a Zen Neeon a couple weeks ago. Yesterday I was charging my player on the computer and when I was done charging it I tried to transfer songs but it kept saying "Dri've needs to be formatted". I didn't format the dri've because I think it'll erase my songs. Now when I try to turn my player on it says, "File system error". What does that mean? Should I reset it's If so, will it erase my songs?

Give ZEN app file system rights so can install without user login

Is it possible to give an app rights to the file system on a Netware
box to find the msi it needs to install even if there isn't a user
logged in to the workstation?
We have an app associated with workstations and when we tried to push
it a number of installs failed because the users were logging on
workstation only.
This is also relevant to apps which install as "unsecure system user"
because they do not inherit the logged-in user's Netware file system
rights. In the past we've given the [public] trustee rights in order to
get round this problem but would like a better solution.

Message"File System Err

I have my Muvo N200 player. When I turn on the power, the Creative logo appears and then "File System Error" message follows and turn off automatically. Can anyone help me how to recover the file system?

Can you upgrade or reload the firmware? Follow the instructions at the download page, which you can access via Nomadworld.com downloads.

What player do you have? Have you try updating the firmware from the website.

Zen Neeon - Transferred Files Always Garg

Hi there -
If anyone could help me with this one, it would be much appreciated, as it has got me stumped!
I recently bought a ZEN NEEON 5 Gb off ebay, via Singapore.
I have installed the software included, but everytime i transfer mp3s (all of these are either 60kbps-320 kbps) they play 'gargled', with stutters and phut! noises sounding every couple of seconds.
The funny thing is, my friends's computer and my sister's both transfer the files absolutely fine!
Therefore there seems to be some conflict between my PC and the Zen Neeon firmware!
Please someone help me before I get too angry and sell this nice, small mp3 player for, dare I say it, an Ipod!

YES, yes yes!
I have this exact problem and i'm having no success in sorting it out. I have even purchased a USB expansion card in the hope it was just a conflict with the USB ports on my motherboard, but without any luck (it made no difference).
I have found that if i set the USB ports to USB .0 in the bios I can get "better" transfers, but still not great (not to mention the terrible transfer speeds.)
Do you know what type of motherboard you have, as it would be nice to try and find a common component. I have a gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro2.
I have two suspicions for the cause of the conflict:
) the nforce2 bus
2) a conflict with the SI32 SATA controller (my system dri've is an SATA hdd) and the way it interacts with the nforce2 bus. What i believe is happening is the SATA controller is hogging the bus and the USB port is getting corrupted as a result.
Having said that, two previous ipods, my digital camera, USB flash discs and my samsung phone all work perfectly with the computer.

One JVM with different system.out / system.err files

I have a menu application which allows me to launch different swingapps which runs inside one single JVM.
All applications have their own properties.file which is read and handled at the start of each application.
One property allows me to print all kind of system.err / system.out which i want to redirect to a specific file. This is implemented with following code:

- app2_out
- app2_err
This doesn't work, the files are created but after starting app2, the print-statements for the menu application are alse redirected to the app_2_xxx files. And when i finish app2, i do not get any print-output anymore
IMHO this is because the JVM only has 1 system.out and 1 system.err file. Is there some way to solve this?

I understand that i need to use java.util.logger (JUL) or Log4j
Are there any (free) tools availabe to read/analyze the logfiles created by above tools?

Could somebody tell me, how I can forward all System.out.println and System.err.println Messages from
my Java modules (EJB, Servlets) to different files respectively.

I think you could create PrinStreamS from your desired output files and then use System.setOut(<...>) and System.setErr(<...>). Place this code in a servlet that you load at startup...

Which log file contains System.err output?

If I start weblogic using startWebLogic.cmd then output sent to System.err gets
output to the console window that opens up. However, if I instead start weblogic
as a service, nothing sent to System.err gets output to the weblogic.log file.

Hi there,
My message was borne of 2 days frustration out of nearly a year of smooth operations with Oracle App Server. Unfortunately I let my mouth (or fingers) run off with those frustrations and made a post that was innappropriate and un-necessary and like every bad workman I blamed my tools.
My apologies for that. Having found where the OPMN logs are stored (and it's pretty obvious to anyone who isn't seeing through a red mist!) I have now fixed my issue pretty quickly.
Thanks for your patience glin - OAS and JDev together have in this past year have served me well and as you say are in general pretty straight forward to use. (My frustration was due to J2EE ClassLoaders, they always cause me some kind of headache somewhere!)

File system error on Zen MuVo

Try downloading the latest driver and firmware from the website. Install the driver file. After you have installed the driver, press and hold the PLAY button, continue holding the button while inserting the player into the USB port for about 0-5 sec. Run the firmware update file and check/tick the 'Format Data Area' check box and click on 'Start'.

I need help because my Zen Neeon 5GB doesn`t turn on the right way. I was listening to music the one day before?and when I tried to turn it on it only appears on the screen: CREATIVE and the menu doesn`t appear on the screen and I can`t listen to music and it doesn`t turn off until I reset it. But you can listen to the hard disk running. I can use it like an USB device but I can`t listen to music. i tried with the upgrade from firmware but appears:
Device detection failed! Please power off it to generate system file.
Device upgrade failed!What happen is`t death?

Have you tried anything in the recovery mode on the player. If not i would go to creative knowledge base and lookup "recoverymode." I would try the clean-up and format first.

Anyone using the Zen Neeon here.. I wanna ask how do you guys upgrade the firmware for Creative players... When I try to upgrade the firmware using the file that creative gave, it says "Device detection failed! Please power off it to generate system file." Pls teach me how to flash the firmware..

It can vary a bit with different players, at least for the flash players. Some you just run the upgrade and connect, whereas with others you have to run a special recovery mode.

Zen Neeon dead

I've recently got a Zen Neeon - I'm in the UK but my dad bought it for me duty free in the Far East. I've had it a week and it's been fine. I was trying to record directly from a stereo through a line in, and this worked. When I'd finished I unplugged from the stereo and plugged it in to the computer. The 'connected to USB' but not transferring symbol came up on the screen of the Neeon, but the PC said 'USB device not recognised'. I unplugged the Neeon, and the 'connected via USB' icon stayed on the screen and I couldn't switch it off. I tried resetting, and entering recovery mode and neither worked. Finally by pressing all buttons randomly I got it to reset, and then reformatted the player. I uninstalled the software on my PC and started again from scratch. It was working fine again, so I resynchronised it and left it plugged in to the switched on computer overnight to charge (first time the battery has needed charging). This morning it was completely dead again - I've got the 'connected to USB' symbol on the screen, and nothing will wake it up or change it. I've tried the reset button, I've tried the reset button and the play key and I've tried uninstalling the software on the PC and starting again. Nothing works.
I've phoned the helpline in Ireland, and they took me through all this again, and in the end said they couldn't help - suggested running the battery down until the player switches off completely - but that could take well over a week as it's new and just charged (and I can't use it at all). Is there ANYTHING else I can try? What've I done?!
