Zen neeon firmware need

mine is zen neeon ..Accidentally i've format my player now i dont have any drivers or firmwares...there are firmwares and drivers in the creative download page ..but they are'nt supporting windows 7....Can anyone give me a Solution..

Welcome to Creative forums!
You may need to look for a computer with an older OS that works with the firmware update. Check the requirements under the release notes. The (compatible) OS for you to run the firmware is listed there.
For ZEN Neeon 52MB/ GB/ 2GB? the requirements are:
Microsoft? Windows? XP, Windows 2000, Windows Millennium or Windows 98 Second Edition<
USB . port (USB 2.0 recommended for faster transfers)<
For ZEN Neeon 5GB/ 6GB?:
Microsoft? Windows? XP, Windows 2000, Windows Millennium Edition (Me) or Windows 98 Second Edition (SE)<

  • Zen Neeon 6GB (USB Probl

    Hi,
    I bought a zen neeon 6gb a few days ago. There were no problems at first but now.......
    When I plug it into my laptop, it's as if nothing was plug in!
    Same thing when I used the desktop in my office, I've changed another usb cable, I've pushed the reset button & nothing seems to work. Downloaded "Zen Neeon Firmware .0", also didn't work.
    So what now? I'm still waiting for the support team to reply my email.

    Does the player turn on, or doesn't it respond at all? Was the battery run down all the way?
    Regarding your e-mail, did you use the form on the website, and did get an auto-response back? You should always get an automated e-mail back with some tips, if they don't help, check over the e-mail as you generally need to reply to that to let them know, so someone will deal with you directly.

    There's no Zen Neeon firmware available yet.
    Typically batteries charge in about 4 hours. I would leave it for this, then check to see if it's full.
    If it isn't I would contact Creative Support, links for which are in the FAQ post.

  • Zen Neeon 'Frozen' at Creative Logo when inserted into U

    add me to the list of people who's Neeon freezes at the creative logo when connected to a USB port.
    I've tried to boot into the recovery mode, and the device appears as a 'player recovery device' however when the firmware update tries to update, the 'player recovery device' disappears, and windows tells me a USB device has malfunctioned and that i should re-insert it. which then makes the firmware update fail, as it loses the connection to the player.
    My Neeon is now a couple weeks expired from the 2 month warranty. as i bought it last year for my Xmas present. which means i'm pretty much stuck with a paperweight now as the knowledge base doesn't help me one bit and e-mail support wasn't exactly helpful either, as i only ever got replies that needed the player to connect to the PC. when it's not even getting to the stage where it will talk to the PC properly.
    i've always supported creative players, as they're about the same price as the consumer-tastic ipods, but offer many more features, and then this happens as soon as the warranty expires, which is really just like a kick in the face.
    if there's any way to workaround this that anyone knows of, i would love to hear from you, because i'd rather not have to spend any money to buy another player. (and chances are, it won't be a creative one)

    <FONT face=Verdana size=3>Zen Neeon for Christmas last nite and didn't get around to loading music onto it until this morning. Well I had successfully loaded like songs from my PC and then I ripped the tracks from my newest CD and uploaded them to it. I was sitting listening to the tracks making sure that they had successfully loaded from the CD and it froze!!! One song went off and i thought it was going to the next and i happened to glance down and it was frozen.. It stayed this way for a couple of hours and it would NOT let me press any buttons or turn it off .. It stayed that way until the battery ran down and turned itstelf off.. Please help if you have ANY clue why it did this and how I can prevent it from happening again!!! Thanks a bunch!!! P.S. What in the world does firmware mean? lol Im new to this whole thing as you can tell..

    A firmware is essentially the software on the player, that makes it run the menus, makes sure you can play the music, ties everything together (like an Operating System on your PC).
    There is a firmware update available for the Zen Neeon, it would be best to update that first to see if it resolves this for you. The update is available on this page:

  • Zen Neeon - Transferred Files Always Garg

    If anyone could help me with this one, it would be much appreciated, as it has got me stumped!
    I recently bought a ZEN NEEON 5 Gb off ebay, via Singapore.
    I have installed the software included, but everytime i transfer mp3s (all of these are either 60kbps-320 kbps) they play 'gargled', with stutters and phut! noises sounding every couple of seconds.
    The funny thing is, my friends's computer and my sister's both transfer the files absolutely fine!
    Therefore there seems to be some conflict between my PC and the Zen Neeon firmware!
    Please someone help me before I get too angry and sell this nice, small mp3 player for, dare I say it, an Ipod!

    I have this exact problem and i'm having no success in sorting it out. I have even purchased a USB expansion card in the hope it was just a conflict with the USB ports on my motherboard, but without any luck (it made no difference).
    I have found that if i set the USB ports to USB .0 in the bios I can get "better" transfers, but still not great (not to mention the terrible transfer speeds.)
    Do you know what type of motherboard you have, as it would be nice to try and find a common component. I have a gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro2.
    I have two suspicions for the cause of the conflict:
    ) the nforce2 bus
    2) a conflict with the SI32 SATA controller (my system dri've is an SATA hdd) and the way it interacts with the nforce2 bus. What i believe is happening is the SATA controller is hogging the bus and the USB port is getting corrupted as a result.
    Having said that, two previous ipods, my digital camera, USB flash discs and my samsung phone all work perfectly with the computer.

    i have a zen neeon 5Gb with no travel charger ( not bundled)
    so i usually charge it with my pc's usb, but my neeon always like corrupted everytime i need to re-charge
    the "corrupted" status is like i can't access it from windows explorer, and my windows hangs everytime i connect my neeon
    so what i did is always put the neeon into recovery mode and format the firmware again,then the problem's solved
    but i always need to did this almost everytime i connected it to my pc, which makes i need to copy all my mp3s again
    and again everytime i want to charge it...
    this is very tiring..helps please...

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
    You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
    Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
    There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

  • Can no longer access my menu on Zen Neeon

    I have upgraded to the .009 firmware so now my zen neeon loads quicker and skips tracks quicker but now when I press the scroll button to access the menu nothing happens except it resets to the first track on my player.
    I've tried resetting my player. I've created playlists which I can't access. I just can't get to my menu!!!!
    Do I need to do a recovery mode rescue?

    Thanks for the reply Edmeister. All the tabs take a moment attempting to load, then the Inbox Preview screen pops up. I have even uninstalled FF and reinstalled it. I've checked my settings even though I've made no changes in months. Again, the mail box has never had a problem until about 2 weeks ago. Fortunately, I can retrieve my mail through my old Eudora program and do the house keeping through IE8. Just wish I knew what has changed, i.e., my fault or a program.

    I need help because my Zen Neeon 5GB doesn`t turn on the right way. I was listening to music the one day before?and when I tried to turn it on it only appears on the screen: CREATIVE and the menu doesn`t appear on the screen and I can`t listen to music and it doesn`t turn off until I reset it. But you can listen to the hard disk running. I can use it like an USB device but I can`t listen to music. i tried with the upgrade from firmware but appears:
    Device detection failed! Please power off it to generate system file.
    Device upgrade failed!What happen is`t death?

    Have you tried anything in the recovery mode on the player. If not i would go to creative knowledge base and lookup "recoverymode." I would try the clean-up and format first.

  • Zen Neeon FM recept

    Hi,
    I've have a Zen Neeon running the latest firmware - .009.
    The two local radio stations I like to listen to are on 94.5 and 96.0. Reception of these is fine on another portable radio but on the Neeon there seems to be some internally generated interference in the Neeon blocking these stations signals (I can hear them very faintly in the background if I move the headphone lead around).
    On other stations reception is good, but approximately once a second there's a crunching noise in the background. You don't notice it on most music but when there is just speech it's quite annoying.
    Does anyone elses Neeon suffer this problem? Is there anything I can do to fix it's

    boffin: It sounds like you need a response from a Neeon user to confirm whether your player is behaving abnormally.
    Radio reception is notorious for being difficult with some players, and in some cases it seems to be poor design.

  • Zen Neeon dead

    Hi,
    I've recently got a Zen Neeon - I'm in the UK but my dad bought it for me duty free in the Far East. I've had it a week and it's been fine. I was trying to record directly from a stereo through a line in, and this worked. When I'd finished I unplugged from the stereo and plugged it in to the computer. The 'connected to USB' but not transferring symbol came up on the screen of the Neeon, but the PC said 'USB device not recognised'. I unplugged the Neeon, and the 'connected via USB' icon stayed on the screen and I couldn't switch it off. I tried resetting, and entering recovery mode and neither worked. Finally by pressing all buttons randomly I got it to reset, and then reformatted the player. I uninstalled the software on my PC and started again from scratch. It was working fine again, so I resynchronised it and left it plugged in to the switched on computer overnight to charge (first time the battery has needed charging). This morning it was completely dead again - I've got the 'connected to USB' symbol on the screen, and nothing will wake it up or change it. I've tried the reset button, I've tried the reset button and the play key and I've tried uninstalling the software on the PC and starting again. Nothing works.
    I've phoned the helpline in Ireland, and they took me through all this again, and in the end said they couldn't help - suggested running the battery down until the player switches off completely - but that could take well over a week as it's new and just charged (and I can't use it at all). Is there ANYTHING else I can try? What've I done?!

    I too would like to see Playsforsure compatibility with this player. I've been scouring the net and it seems that this player once was Playsforsure compatible as I can see it has the Playsforsure logo on the back of the box. It's also still mentioned in the manual. Whats changed since then?
    This player meets all the requirements that Microsoft need for it to be compatible. Come on creative release a firmware update!

    i have my neenon about one month. so far it worked quite well until a few days ago. every time i plug it to the usb the computer seems to have a problem to identify the device and it gets stuck on this window (the window image is in hebrew):it seems to take to much time to act only on this process, and after it finally finished (about 0 minutes) it cannot open the neeon file and it says something about a problem with the input/output.i go to "zen neeon media explorer" and is says that the device is not even pluged in!?same problem with other comuters! so the problem is realy on the neeon. i already tried to press on play/off button and plug in the usb at the same time and then downloading?a firmware but it did not helped at all. can somebody pleas help me?
