Zen Neeon - Song ***

I <FONT face=Century>just got my first creative zen Neeon mp3 player :smileyvery-happy: and have been transferring songs ripped from my CD collection. I had renamed each song title as some CDs do not reflect the song title (i.e Track , track 2....) Even though when i browse the songs in the folders, the titles are reflected. The songs reflect their default title - Track 7 or track 9 when I am playing the song.
How can i solve this problem? becoz i have no idea what song i am listening to.

hey there.. i just got my zen neeon and it proved to be a little frustrating..
i created folders and named it in small letters using my computers but some of them displayed in CAPITAL letters.
to make things worst, some of my mp3 filenames have chinese characters and weird square characters.
it also hung on me twice in less than a week since i bought it.
anyone got a solution or similar problems?

  • Zen Neeon - cracking band - skipping songs - highly disappointed in the quality of workmans

Has anyone had any problems with the "band" around the zen neeon cracking? It has not been dropped. It has been cared for like a newborn child and within -2 weeks it had a crack in it. Now, a couple of months later it has 3 cracks in it. My husband said the band was probably too tight to begin with and was cracking to relieve the pressure on itself. But of course I called warranty services and they say it is physical damage so it is my tough luck. This thing has been babied!!!! It is poor quality workmanship. All the kids in my daughter's class wanted one after they seen hers after Christmas. I specifically told her to tell them WE DO NOT RECCOMMEND THE ZEN NEEON!? I told her to show them what hers has done (the cracking) and suggest they might want to spend their money elsewhere. Now on top of all this, it has started going bonkers!? I created her some playlists, and they used to play fine. Now, it will play one or two, skip 3-4 of the songs, then go back to playing. It used to work fine. I told her we would delete them off, add them back on, and try that again. Has anyone else had this skipping song problem?HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM OF THE BAND CRACKING?I wish I would have spent my money on an Ipod.Message Edited by bulldogmama on 03-0-200602:0 PM

I have!? There's a big crack in mine, and yes I've dropped it, but not nearly as hard to have caused a crack (I catch it by the headphone cord before it hits the ground XD)? My brother saw it, and he's like, "What the heck did you do?"? and I told him "nothing!"?Mine's been going nuts as well!?It just gives me trouble! Now this time, I hope this isn't a permanent problem, but today, I was listening to my Zen Neeon. I shut it off, put it away, and then later on in the day, went to listen to it. Turned it on. The "Creative" screen comes up, and FREEZES there. The lights that normally flash when the player is turned on do not appear,? just the "Creative" logo, and it FREEZES there. I reset it, and turn it back on, and it just keeps doing the same thing. I'm VERY disappointed with it. Not to mention I'm going to have to take the heat from my parents because they bought it for me. I wouldn't reccomend it to -anyone- ever!

  • Question(s) about Zen Neeon (specifically number of songs in a fold

I recently placed an order for the Zen Neeon because its small, its UMS (I don't like using software to upload my music to my player) and its cool looking. But, after ordering, I became more aware about the problems with the player.
The biggest gripe that people have is the lag between songs. I read that in the manual, it says not to have more than 50 songs in a folder.
So, here are a few questions:
) If I have say 2 songs in a folder (average length of an album), how long of a lag between tracks would I expect?
    2) If I make a playlist of more than 50 songs that spans a couple of different folders, would I expect a large lag between songs?
I have a Muvo2 (currently broken with a non-functional headphone jack. I should send it in though for repair) and I loved the player. I hoped that the Zen Neeon would be a great replacement, but it looks like with these initial problems, it would only be a good replacement. I did not mind on the Muvo2 the long time for it to load up after I transfer tracks to it, but there was barely any lag when play songs.
Looks like the Zen Neeon is very similiar to the Muvo OS...so I'm wondering why there is a problem with the long gap playing between songs.

index26 wrote:I thought the Neeon was a microdri've based player, not solidstate.
I'm not too sure with the Neeon, if it's over Gb then it may well be a microdri've like some of the MuVo? players.

  • Zen Neeon Suggesti

I am very happy with my Zen Neeon and have no complaints as of yet.
Here are two suggestions I have thought of:
. I listen to electronic music among millions of other people. Often times they are recorded as sets, up to hour or so long. If there could be faster 'fastfoward' times, or perhaps some sort of skip by percentage or something to that effect it would help greatly. Many car cd/mp3 players have this feature available now. This way you dont have to listen to the first 20 minutes of every set, but never hear the finish.
    2. Put the volume buttons in a different location or change the interface. Your hand generally cover the volume buttons when pushing in the scroll wheel, and if a volume button is pressed in the scroll wheel will not select.
Hopefully these suggestions are in the right place, I had a look around but could not find anywhere else to put them. Thanks.Message Edited by Phikticious on -4-2005 05:48 PM

I'm not quite happy with my neeon. My current firmware version is .009.
Here are the features that I think creative should have already included on it Neeon:
. Neeon should remember where it was when I turn it off. Let's me give you an example. Suppose you are listening to a 2 hours audio progrom (Audio Book, Blog, etc) and at some point, you have to stop listen to it and do something else, what should happen. For iPod (even the shuffle one), when you turn the player back again, it will continue where it left. For Neeon?, First you have to browse for the record first (If you play the program from the playlist) then you have to manually scroll through the record until it reach the point that you have left, via the scroll botton. And suppose you do one too more click and it go to the next record, you have to do this whole thing again.
    2. It should remember the playlist. As I've already mention in the st features: When you play from a playlist, the Neeon will not remember that it 's play from the playlist. So, when you turn off your and turn it on later, it will just goto the first music/song/program on your neeon, not the first one on the playlist.
    3. It should support audible just like other mp3 in the Zen series or even the low-end muvo.
I've already contact their technical support and here is a quote from them:
"As regards to your request, what we can assist you is to feedback the information to the relevant development department. As such it will be up to the development team to determine if this is within the product means. If this is possible then, perhaps they may be able to implement in the update."
The last sentence is great :: it says if we can and we want to, perhap we maybe do it.
I'm considering these lack features as a bug in design/implement. Maybe my expectation is too high as I'm a previous iPod user and such a stupid problem have never occur to me. Maybe yo wonder why I switch to zen Neeon. The reason is at that time, iPod Nano 4 GB is out of stock in Thailand, so I pick up this one (since the shop owner only tell it's good point, like sound quality is good, it have one GB more, etc).
I do really hope that the creative's "Development Team" is capable, willing, and do implement these features, in order to make the Neeon be what it should already be or put it the other way round, just to make it work, at least as best as, the entry level iPod Shuffle.
I know that Neeon have more features comparing to iPod (and it is what lure me) but as an mp3 player, I think it should focus most on mp3 features. All other features is just an add-on.
I believe creative do have a future, but it should know where to focus.

  • Release date for Zen Neeon in

    Hello,
I'm considering my first MP3 player. Had a mini disk up till now still in fine working order, but I'm getting sucked into the idea of cute wee players holding my entire record collection (or at least the ones I still want to listen to!) I really like the look of the Zen Neeon, with it's line in recording, and recording off radio. I don't imagine the voice recording bit will be up to recording my guitar playing as I do with my mini disk but I'm hoping I'll be able to at least transfer songs from mini disk and Home Studio onto it. haven't decided whether the 2 mb flash player or the 5gb hard dri've but in anycase it's not out in the shops yet. Anyone know what the release date is?
    Feepster

I would guess at this point it's unlikely the Neeon will be sold directly in Europe. You might find it on eBay if you are desperate, but you are very unlikely to have any form of warranty. The Neeon isn't getting rave reviews though it seems.

  • Zen Neeon 6gb - audio blips after changeing

hey, i have had my Zen Neeon 6gb since the 24th of June, up untill about two weeks ago i was running Windows ME , the player was working fine, just recentaly i have changed OS to Windows XP professional and now, whenever i copy a song onto my player, it has really annoying audio blips and skips in every single track. Most of the music on my new computer has been copyed off my other useing my player, and it all plays fine, its only when i goto play it on my player.
Please Help, im really annoyed at this
PS: i have tried re-installing drivers and formatting the player, i even have the latest firmware, nothing is working!!!Message Edited by mischala on 2-02-200607:2 PM

I had the same problem. I was using the zen neeon as a mobile dri've (as in, copying stuff over to it through windows explorer). If you use the creative mediasource application to copy music to the player instead, it solves the audio blip problem completely. I hate having to use the software when the dri've is accessible in explorer but at least it isn't as annoying as itunes.

  • Zen Neeon - a few iss

    Hello,
I recieved a Zen Neeon 6 gb for Christams from the kids and I have a few questions that do not seem to be in the documentation.
. Is it possibel to select the opening screen. I want to open on the browse screen and it seems to always open on a particular song. I then have go back into the menu and go to browse.
    2. When you go into browse and run down the folder the names start streaming off the screen as soon as that folder is selected. Is it possible to slow down the process a bit so you can see the name of the folder before it scrolls off.
    3.

    I did not finished
    3. Is it possible to get the font on the screen a bit bigger. I fine reading it very difficult.
The little wheel thing on the side is not the best either.
My last comment is that the software only supports Windows which is a pain. Creative should be a bit broadminded and offer a Linux option/
    Regards

  • Zen Neeon "Deleting" H

    Hi,
I have a Zen Neeon, 5GB, and was trying to delete?one track, selected delete on the menu, which asked me to delete again, and I said yes. However, I am not sure if I have deleted my whole music library or not. The problem is that the player screen has since then said "Deleting..." so far going on fi've hours, and I only had about 500 songs. Should I wait it out, or does this require going into a recovery mode as described in the Knowledge Base? Is there anything else I can do to get the player to function again? Thanks for your help in advance!!

I had the problem too and had to reset the player (just reset, not relaoad firmware). Now it works fine - and I now delete any tracks I want to delete via MediaSource rather than on the player itself. I've had no problems doing it that way.

  • Zen Neeon Recharge on LCD screen even though not connected er

I purchased a Creative Zen Neeon 6 gig MP3 player last December 2005. I'm not having trouble where I can connect the MP3 Player to the computer, it will recognise the device and all the songs stored...what happen is when i safely remove it from the USB cable the Neeon will turn on, show the creative logo and then show the USB charging action on there even though it's not connected....Has anyone else experienced this problem? I've tried re-setting it but again the USB recharge action on the LCD appears again...Anyone fixed this? Any help appreciated, thought i'd try here first before contacting tech support again...

I tried clean up already, as stated above. Since then I have also tried reformatting the player again, adding new music, and retrying the clean up. The player seems to recognize that there is music on there when it builds the library, because the more music I have uploaded the longer it takes, but when it fully boots up it still shows NO MUSIC at all, no tracks, no artists, nothing.

  • Zen Neeon Trou

I've had my Zen Neeon (6GB) for about 2 months and have recently started having problems with it. When playing it has started taking a much longer time to change songs almost like it's freezing in between song changes and when this happens it takes a few goes before being able to turn it off. I originally thought it might have something to do with the battery, but it doesn't seem to be anything connected to it. Any help would be great. Thanks!Message Edited by steph0202 on 0-03-2007:09 PM

I am having the same problem with my Zen Neon (6GB). It starts up very slow and takes a long time to load different screens. It actually stopped playing songs now. Seems like it has trouble?loading the songs. The radio FM works though. Please advise someone how to fix it. I tried?resetting but?the same problem?continues. Please?advise. Thanks.

  • Zen Neeon Questions/Prob

I bought a zen neeon recently, but when it arri'ved the LOCK button doesn't work. Also the menus are really really slow, and there's no way I can find to get it to display the artist name for my songs. The FM tuner doesn't seem to pick any stations up either, I've put it on the desk next to another radio which works okay.
I ran all the updates on it, but nothing has helped. I'm really miffed, it's like 2 weeks old.
I li've in Japan so I have to post here to find if these things are normal or if they've shipped me some broken or test model by mistake.
I got someone to phone their support (who speaks Japanese, but not so great English), who said send it back for repair or to get a refurbished one, but really I want my money back, cos it looks like i've been done. I really don't want a refurbished or repaired one either, cos I've had it like a WEEK! If I'd wanted 2nd hand I'd have gone to ebay and paid a lot less!
I really want my money back but I suspect they'll only let me RMA it. Does Creative have a worldwide policy on refunds?
I googled for firmware upgrades and found some mentions, my player has .0.0.5 according to its menu. I've seen mention of other numbers but nothing in creative america or creative japan websites. I ran the auto update tool but it says there's nothing new (tried both again, america and japan).
Any ideas, or have I just lost a huge chunk o' money?

hi,my name is Jessie, i bought a Zen Neeon from Hong Kong, but i li've in UK and it just started frozing today but i have never dropped it or damage it......i got really depressed
    can you speak japanese?

  • Zen Neeon noise h

My Zen neeon 5G now only play music with some noise, I tested some songs with other mp3 player and found that problem only occur on my neeon. This problem occurred in mp3 wav wma and all bitrate. Does it means my neeon is broken or has any solution to solve this problem?
    Firmware already updated to .0

I had the problem too and had to reset the player (just reset, not relaoad firmware). Now it works fine - and I now delete any tracks I want to delete via MediaSource rather than on the player itself. I've had no problems doing it that way.

I downloaded the instructions and it saiz go to My Computer, and you will see the Zen will show as a removable dri've, simply drag and drop music into it, sounds easy right? I copyed all my music across and when I turn the Zen on it saiz "No Music"
Ive tryed formatting, i've tryed moving music in and out of folders on the Zen, I also downloaded the Mediasorce 5 Organizer but do not see the Zen in the list on the right to select ......
I have a few mp3 players and I just drag and drop all my music into them and they work no problem ..... can someone please tell me what I may be doing wrong?
    Thanx in advance

    laura_stewart09,
You will need to have the music file selected and queue to the Now Playing list. To do so, acccess the Music Library. Now you can find the songs you want either by Artists, Albums, Genres, All Tracks, etc.
