Zen NX Firmware probl

I updated my firmware on my Zen NX Several months ago with the newest firmware, and since then all of my music sounds really weird. I would like to make it work again. I have already gone and bought a Zen Xtra. but I would like to use this as an backup or let someone in my family use it. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

the same thing has happened to my zen nx player.
its sounds like it under water.
but if you play it through my p.c. with headphone jack and the usb it sound fine on the p.c. speakers.
and before you ask, i tried other headphones.
and also when you take out the usb cable from the player the sound get funny again.
i tried new firmware, but with no luck.
my girlfriend is going mad.

Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra FIRMWARE PROBL

In the spring of 2005, I bought a 40GB Nomad Jukebox Sen Xtra. It worked for a little over a month without any problems. Since then, it shuts off on its own and?it freezes. For the first time since I bought it, I attempted to load new music onto it. Now whenever I turn it on, it reads "re-building library..." and then it's stuck on "Firmware Problem."? Kayla24?Looks like you're going to have to start regretting buying something?made by?Creative. There are oodles of stories on these boards regarding software problems and creative mp3 players. Creative have published ?'updates' that effecti'vely disable players but will not take any action unless the machine is still under warranty. The last e-mail I got from tech support said 'We know the firmware [update] disabled your machine, but unless it is still in warranty there is nothing we will do about it."? It was a Zen Xtra 30GB, it's now a paperweight. If your's still turns on, try reinstalling the firmware on a old pc/laptop that has never had Windows Media on it, but has been updated to media player 0. This sometimes works - otherwise join the crowds and get an i-pod. At least they work - and Apple fix 'em when they break 'em.

Zen microphoto firmware probl

I have a zen mircophoto and it said it had firmware problems and i did the reload firmware but didnt have a computer with me. now when i pulg it into the computer to try to reload the firmware it says it doesnt detect the player but it charges and says recovery mode on the top of the screen. i dont know what to do to fix this problem and i could use some help thanks!

Try reloading the firmware. It needs to be connected to your computer to reload firmware.
Click the Support menu on the Creative banner at the top of the screen and click through the menus until you get to the MicroPhoto's Downloads page.

please please take your time and listen to me I am really goin mad right now as I have no idea about what to do :s
as I was having problems using my zen touch 40gb on my vista laptop, I decided to update my firmware after having read many posts, including creative knowledge base notes, that I "must" update my firmware to use my player on vista.
so I plug my player to a desktop pc with xp installed, and downloaded the required file to update the firmware.
BUT it froze for a few mins till I unplugged it. it was taking forever with no progress.
and after that when player is plugged on the pc it shows creative 0.0.000 or something like that.
I realized I had wm installed, so decided to try the things written here which are also shared on many posts of this forum.
well, later on that caused a much bigger problem, the pc wouldnt work properly.
anyways, later I got it back to an older date. and at least the pc is ok.
NOW, is there anyone who has any idea about what to do
- all my data on the player is gone.
- no firmware on on the player except for v0.0.000
- the player is either detected or not; the pc gives only the message like "new device found", "creative zen ready", "new mtp device" or something like those..
- everytime I try to switch it on it says "firmware problem", and goes to the recovery mode.
PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!

Zen Micro Firmware Probl

I recently brought a 6GB Zen Micro, and all was fine, it had setup, etc. all perfectly. after useing it for a couple of days, i looked up about the battery drain due the the 2 hour standby, and attempted to upgraded the firmware.
the update stopped midway through, so i left it to see what happened. nothing after a couple of hours, so i cancelled it.
now when i turn on the Zen Micro, it says "firmware problem", and remains in recovery mode.
i tried "reload via USB" option, but then the firmware installer wont start because "player is not connected" (even though it phyically is)
windows however, does make the noise when you connect a removable dri've, although media player says that no player is detected either.
after reading a couple of threads here nothing seemed to help me.
can i anyone help me? id be really gratful

does the micro still work alright? if it works, and the computer will register it, then you probably shouldn't bother upgrading the firmware. if it doesn't work, then i have no idea what to do, and you'll most likely have to contact customer support, and hopefully creative can somehow fix the problem, or help you fix the problem

Zen Sleek Firmware probl

My Zen Sleek died last week and it put me in Recovery Mode, because it had a Firmware Problem. Well I've tried Clean Up several times and it gets to 2% and stops, then I have to reboot it. I don't want to Format All cause I've got a ton of music on here. So I did the Reload Firmware thing and I downloaded the latest upgrade (don't remember the number). And I'm past the license agreement, and language selection and when I get to the "Creative Zen Sleek PlayForSure Firware Upgrade" window, it tells me "Your player is not connected, please connect your player". But it is freakin' connected!!! lol... I can usually figure this stuff out on my own but this time?I?don't know what to do, someone help!!!!!!!!!!!

Zen MicroPhoto Firmware Proble

So, i have zen microphoto that is experiencing a ''firmware'' problem. Such message appears on the screen when it is turned on.

When i set it in 'Recovery mode' it gives me a few options to 'clean-up' , 'format all' , 'reload firmware' , and 'reboot'
Which is the one i should choose to solve my 'firmware' problem?


I have tried to 'clean up'..but i dont think it has worked.

I have yet to try other options, because i am afraid they will delete my library of music & photos-- which i do not want to do unless it is necessary.

Hello,?I am experiencing the same problem with my MicroPhoto player. One day it froze on me, and since then the firmware has been acting up. It now goes to a "Firmware Problem" screen every time?I turn it on, and after attempting to remove and re-install the firmware 3 times, it has failed to work. Before I purchased the player, I had heard bad things about Creative replacement costs and how the Zen Micro has many problems as well. It looks like our players have lost the HDD and need to be replaced, which I assume will cost more than its worth... The one reason Creative will never beat out the iPod is because of their player glitches and lack of willingness to correct them. Anybody with more information on the hdd dying problem, could you let me know if you managed to send it in, and how much is cost, etc?

OK, so everytime I connect my Zen touch to USB, it gets recognised by windows, but when i try to install new firmware 2..0, it says the player is disconnected.
Does anyone have a solution for this?

ZEN 16GB firmware probl

I?received my Zen 6GB as a gift, unfortuantelly without any firmware on it (nor installation CD). Its?completely clean, after turning on I can see only?a white screen ( no logo, menu etc). I downloaded firmware from your site, but when Im trying to install it, I receive message that no support device connected.
I?have WinXP with SP2 and I can see my Zen as a unknown device, just cant install anything on it.
I?would be appreciate for any help.

First of all, try to obtain the purchase receipt and then tell the person who gave it to you "where is the CD?
On the CD is the support contact information.
Next Contact Creative because your player failed two tests - see below
How can you tell if your Zen is defecti've/faulty?
A "white screen" shows up on the Zen LCD.
You cannot force the Zen into the special "Recovery Mode" menu screen.
The Zen refuses to "take a charge"? (To charge up the internal Lithium-Ion Polymer battery)
The Zen LCD is cracked or distorted due to dropping or handling abuse.
Contact Creative if any of the above faults occur - the Zen is bad and nothing you can do will fix it!

Hello,?I have at zen micro mp3 player and every time when I turn it on I'm getting firmware problem message. I can't turn it off and it just dies out when the battery is gone. Hi, looks like there is a problem during the boot, so i think that is a problem with a internal component. It can be the hard dri've although if you hear it, but i think it's another component (more serious).... You can see here ( http://www.hardwarezone.com/articles...d=33&cid=9&pg= ) how to open your zen and maybe try another HD, but do it only if you think you can put it back together. , but be careful ! Creative Zen Touch Firmware Proble

Hello!
Yesterday i tried to renew the Firmware on my Creative Mp3-Player.
During the updating, the mp3-player restarted and then something happend, that the program hang on. Now, on every start the mp3-player is going into the Recovery Mode and i cannot hear mp3's and i cannot connect to the Pc. What can oder should i do now? How can i get my mp3-player to run again?

I tried to install the usb 2.0 device with the driver windows/inf/wpdmtp.inf, but the PC says, that there are no informations about the maschine. And in the portable media center he also can't find the mp3-player. I have done 2 updates (WindowsMedia-KB8922-x86-DEU) and (windowsmedia0-kb902344-x86-intl), but the third (windowsmedia0-kb89536-x86-enu) isn't working, because the update isn't existing in my language. Can this be the problem or how can i normally connect to the mp3 player, if the mp3 player is in rescue/recovery Mode?

Next Zen Micro Firmware Suggesti

I thought it would be a good idea to have a section where people can put in their ideas for new zen micro firmware updates, as for myself i have 2
. when you select "random play all" from the DJ section it sets your micro to play in shuffle mode, then afterwards when u play music it shuffles the songs you had selected yourself. I think it would be a good idea to add to the next update when "random play all" is off, and one has selected the music on their own it resets to normal mode.
2. the Creative Jukebox Zen had some EQ features that the Micro does not have. It was able to speed up and slow down songs by 2x. as well it had some EQ settings to make songs sound like they were being played in different enviroments, such as bathroom, concert hall, living room and such. I think the next firmware update should have these features included.
Anyone else got some ideas? :P

Does anyone knows if there is any Zen Micro Firmware Hack avaliable out there. Not that I dislike the original one, bot I love hack around. I used to have Podzilla (a linux distro) on my IPod and would be nice if there was something similar for my ZM.
Anyway, as a software developer, I could start coding something intereseting (what about a firmware that always use deep sleep? ), but to start, I really need some technical papers about zen's hardware and memory system, since reverse engenering the firmware would take much of my (:sigh busy time...

It's illegal and probably not a good idea to discuss this here. You can however visit nomadness and see if there is anything on it. I have read people hacking their Zen Jukebox or Zens (not micro) but the hacks aren't that great, most of them only managed to change their menu screens but nothing major.

mine is zen neeon ..Accidentally i've format my player now i dont have any drivers or firmwares...there are firmwares and drivers in the creative download page ..but they are'nt supporting windows 7....Can anyone give me a Solution..

Welcome to Creative forums!
You may need to look for a computer with an older OS that works with the firmware update. Check the requirements under the release notes. The (compatible) OS for you to run the firmware is listed there.

[Zen Micro] Firmware upgrade has bloc

Hi,
I'm upgrading my Zen Micro firmware from ..0 to 2.2.02 version right now, but it looks like the process has stuck. My processor seems not to be working, the progress bar is no more advancing and the arrows on my player are white. There's a message on the window that says "Rebooting your player. Please wait." But nothing actually happens. What should I do? If I plugged off my player, can I cause it any damage? Should I restart the upgrade? As the 'Close' button is available for clicking, I can assume the process is stoppable and its terminating shouldn't cause damages... can't I?
Please, help me.

And no software will acknowledge mine since I stupidly upgrade to the 2 level firmware. I've been on a three-week merry go round with email customer service...they've even had me go into the registry of my computer (yikes!) but no solution.
