Zen Power Swi

I have just upgraded from a Zen Micro to its 20GB brother Zen. The power switch on the micro was easy to use and had a small lip to assist in sliding it against the spring.
The Zen has a flat chromed plastic switch that is incredible loose/wobbly on my player - if you push (apply vertical pressure) down on one end, the other end of the slider sits up above the surrounds of the player.
Is this switch meant to be this loose or should i swap it over for a replacement - i have had it day? Are they all like this? Do I have anything to worry about?

The switch is a little loose. But, you need to apply vertical pressure to slide it's that is something to look into. It can't be that bad. Perhaps another issue you might want to look into would be the glow. after it finishes charging, the glow should go away, and the player is off-ed.

  • ZEN POWER ADAPTER HELP!!!!!!

I lost the the piece of my Zen power adapter that plugs into the wall. I don't want to have to go buy a new one. Does anyone know where I can find the North American plug piece? I would assume that since it detaches from the adapter completely it can also be purchased separately. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVISE?!?

  • Zen Power Adapter - Different Region Plu

I recently bought the Zen Power Adapter for my 6GB Creative Zen because I am going overseas to Poland for quite some time and need a way to charge my player without a computer. The Adapter came with a US region plug, and I figured I could just use the US to European plug adapters I already have. However, I noticed that, even though the AC adapter says it works between 00 and 240 Volts, the US plug is marked for 25 V. I am wondering if this matters? Will it still work with plug adapters for other regions? And if not (or even if so), how could I go about getting other region plugs for the Zen Power Adapter? Because if it's an easy process, I might do it anyway just to free up the region adapters for other electronics.
    Thanks,
    Poland

    Hi ctfreak,
I recently bought the Creative Zen Uni'versal Power Adapter for my Zens, and it works perfectly in various European countries. It is white and comes with various adapters for the player and with several adapters for the plug part. I have used it in Germany, Spain with my ZEN 32 GB and my son is now using it in England with his Zen V plus.
I also have another uni'versal power adapter black in color for my ZENs which is made in China for Swiss Travel Products - I do not remember where I bought it, probably through ebay - which is very handy as it comes in one piece and the different shape plugs slide out when you press a button on the side; this is especially good for me as I tend to lose the bits and never know which plug adapters I need for which country. With this plug I have everything in one piece. It has a USB port, so you would have to bring the short cable. This one does not work with the Zen V plus, but works very well with the ZEN, so I gave the white Creative Zen Uni'versal Power Adapter to my son for his Zen V plus and kept the black one for my new ZENs.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Zen Micro Power Swi

Well, my headphone Jack finnaly stopped working(after ohh a month or so), but my mom accidently threw away the receipt for my Zen micro. So I decided to try fix it myself. Anyways I did get it fixed, but not until I onadvertently broke the little tiny plack peice of plastic that is part of the power switch on the PCB. Tried epoxying it back together, but its just too small and doesn't hold. sigh
What do you think the chances are that I could get another one of these little peices shipped to me lol?
Or does anyone have any other ideas of what to do? Might just solder a new switch on and have it just hanging out of the hole in the top where the silver switch is. Ugly and Inncovient but atleast it would work. Just gotta figure out the combinations of the 4 pins what they do I guess.
    Thanks!
Oh and feel free to punch me if you ever see me for trying to fix this myself lol.

F*** the store will do that! OMG ERRr
    ok ok.
Well I didn't eaxactly fix it, I just epoxied it in place so it doesn't move around. it works for now. If I just hadn't snapped that peice of plastic all would be right now.
Looks like i'll have to solder a new type of switch on. :/

  • Buy Replacement Zen Micro Power Swi

    Hi,
My Zen Micro power switch stopped working, and since the player is out of warranty, I took it apart, and sure enough, the little black lever on the power switch has broken off. Since the mechanism is so tiny, it is impossible to super glue it back on, so my guess a new switch is the only way to go...
It shouldn't be very hard to solder on a new switch. Can you get a switch like that online / in Radio Shack? If not, any ideas on what it would cost to replace?
    Thanks,
    Tom

Hmm, maybe you can get a broken micro for cheap on ebay and just take the part, or send it to creative and pay for them to fix it.
But I dont know anywhere that stocks them, sorry.

  • Nomad jukebox 3 sticking power swi

    Hi,
Can anybody tell me the cure for a sticky on/off switch? If i need too I will take the thing apart and clean the switch. It isn't under warranty anyway, but I only found one screw and it's in behind the battery cover plate. Can somebody help me get this thing apart?
    Thank you in advance. sealpt

If you open it you will break the warranty. The remaining screws are hidden under each of the feet, which can be slid out.
Hopefully it's just a case of opening it and reseating the power switch correctly.

  • Zen Micro Swi

Does anybody know where I can buy a replacement surface mount switch for the top of my Zen Micro? I was fixing the bad solder on the headphone plug and the switch broke trying to but it back together.

Creative don't sell spares, and I'm sure it's gonna be tricky to find something similar as a part. Perhaps from a busted player, that's busted in another way at least? eBay?...

  • Prob with Micro power swi

It began having difficulty shutting off...you'd have to hold the button longer or make a couple of tries to get it to shut off. Now it will not turn off at all and you have to remove the battery to turn off power.
Anyone else having this issue? Solutions?
    TIA!

I got a Micro in late October, and mine too has recently started doing the same thing. If I switch it to lock, it locks it without a problem, but it is hit or miss with the shutting down and whatnot. I have not really taken as good of care with it as I could have *I have dropped it a couple of times* and figured that I may have jarred something loose, but maybe not?
Usually to turn it off, I just pause it and let it auto turn off, but I am afraid one of these days, it isn't going to come back on.

  • Anyone ever hook up zen micro without a battery using an external power supp

Just wondering if it's possible. I guess you need to know the pinouts for the 4 contacts (I've got the 6GB version without video).
What kind of specs would you need on the power supply?
Hope somone has some info, Thanks

First, check if there's a pinout and it says "DC in 5V" or something like that. If you see it, then you just localized you power adapter's jack.
For the power adapter, you can buy the ZEN Power Adapter, which is expensi've, but, for my personal experience, I bought a generic adapter and saved me 30$, the specs of the Power Adapter is 5V and 2,4 A (EQUAL OR BELOW 2,4 A)

  • Zen V Plus - Use Micro Power Adapt

    Hi,
I just ordered the Zen V Plus (ZVP 8GB) over the phone from Creative (I'm in UK) and I was recommended to purchase?the external power adapter. So I ended up buying that as well. When I got the confirmation e-mail, the power adapter turns out to be the "Zen Micro Power Supply" - as opposed to the standard (and uni'versal?) "Zen Power Adapter". Since both the Micro and the V series?only charge via USB I assume that the Zen Micro power adapter is compatible with the Zen V?Just want to be 00%?sure that it will work. Tia.

Creative is selling?the Micro Power adapter?on the?web site for $9.99. 67% off list price. That's better than paying $29.99!It said they were out of stock for now. When you click on the?link?asking if you wanted to be notified when they were back in stock; another window comes up and?it says?that it works with the Zen V and Zen V Plus.Message Edited by mjmvb on 2-7-200707:32 PM

  • Another New User, Please Advise, Can I Permanently Use Zen Stone From Power Adap

Can I permanently run my new Zen Stone directly from the Zen USB Power Adapter. Like I have my Zen Stone connected to small speakers and would like it to run off the Zen Power Adapter (wall charger) not the battery, permanently. In other words I would like to keep it plugged into the Power Adapter all the time and run it that way so I don't have to run it off the battery and keep charging it. Is this OK to do Please advise this senior citizen trying to keep up with all this great stuff.

    Leafs,
Are you positi've that you have gotten the correct package There's a Zen power adaptor that comes without those interchangeable plug which I saw from the online store here. If you're sure you have gotten the correct package perhaps you should contact the vendor/Customer Support(if you had order from the online store) and verify with them.
