Zen Remote Control Options

I don't know if I am missing something or how I would make this happen.
We just deployed 300 ZenAgents to our corporate office, everything works
great but now - is there a tool I give my HelpDesk staff to be able and
remote to user pc's without giving them access to ConsoleOne?
Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Works ok for us only trouble was when i made a zenapp with some of the
switches enable i couldn't stop them from using arrow key to walk up the
tree to other branches. I wanted to lock them into thier own branch to
manage, i have listed my ini file.. First time in make sure you answer the
three items on top.. tree, Inventory type and remote agent should be DS..

  • Executive Remote Control options...

    Hi,
I have executive presenters who will want a remote control to move forward or backward in their presentation... but, I don't want them actually switching the slides themselves...
Do you know of a device on the market that is a remote control, but the remote activates a FORWARD or REVERSE arrow or light? the lit up arrow will be in the control booth and an operator can move the slides appropriately...
    thoughts?
    thanks in advance.

I can't think of any Apple device or Keynote control that would do this, but what you're looking for sounds like a wireless light switch. I just found this, as only one example: <http://www.adhocelectronics.com/Products/Wireless-Lighting-Control>

  • Remote control options with SCCM 2012 PKI

Does anyone have the remote control feature working with SCCM 2012 R2 running in HTTPS mode?  My last message on the console upon trying to start a remote connection is "Initializing a security handshake...".  Firewall has been temporarily
disabled on the client.  Client certificate is PKI and connection type is 'Always Internet'.
    Thanks

PKI, certs, and HTTPS client communication have nothing to do with Remote Control; Remote Control is peer to peer over a custom port (2702 I think but could be wrong). Because it is peer to peer though, you cannot use Remote Control to clients on the Internet
or where direct traffic on this port cannot pass.

  • Remote control Tool for non-IT staff

    Hi
We currently run ZENworks for Desktops v7 and have a requirement to
offer our financial systems team the ability to remote control users'
workstation without the need to use Console 1. All workstations are
currently Windows XP SP2 or SP3.
    1. Are there any 3rd party/Cool tools that can be used to offer remote
control instead of using Console 1?
    2. Do these tools require additional roles/rights?
    Thank you.

You can use our DSRAZOR for eDirectory/NDS and NetWare product for this.
See the applets called "ZEN Remote Control / Remote View by User" and "ZEN
Remote Control / Remote View by Workstation" in the HelpDesk Examples
section of the DSRAZOR Console. The applets can be customized to your
needs - such as limiting which containers and/or which workstations are
shown, and allowing only remote control or only remote view (instead of
both). After any necessary modifications are made (we can show you how or
make the changes for you), save the applet as an EXE to distribute to the
people who will use it. Having the applet as an EXE means they will not
need ConsoleOne and they will not need the full DSRAZOR product either.
The example applet in the DSRAZOR Console is based on the user's own
privileges. If you do not want to grant these users their own privileges
for remote control / remote view, the applet can be modified to use our
optional Zero Privilege Helpdesk NLM. You would need one NetWare server to
run the Zero Privilege Helpdesk NLM. When you load the NLM you will specify
the name of a group (such as financial systems group). Then only the
members of that group will be able to successfully use the applet, which
they will have as a stand-alone EXE.
An evaluation of DSRAZOR is available from:

  • Windows server remote management / remote control agent

I have installed ZFS 6.5. I have installed the agent on an windows server
I have the consoleone snapins installed but there is no option to remote
control in consoleone on the server object. The server does not show any
sign of Zen remote control. Does the agent install include remote control
agent? If not, were is the install located and how do you configure it?
Also when getting packages what is the difference between ZFS 3.0 and the
version that comes with Zfs 6.5?

  • Remote Control and Kaspersky

Anyone run into a problem of Kaspersky console not working/responding through ZEN Remote control. I can control everything but if I bring up Kaspersky console it will not respond to rc controls.

Several years later, but I thought I'd post my fix anyway...
Install Kaspersky on a Workstation and define an exception for:
    C:\Program Files\Novell\ZENworks\RemoteManagement\RMAgent\Zen Rem32.exe
Export the (fully set up) Kaspersky configuration to a text file and copy it to your AdminKit public folder. Define that configuration as part of your Kaspersky client installation in the AdminKit and you should be able to control the Kaspersky system tray icon on all machines that receive that roll out. That exception won't work as a policy rollout, it has to be included as part of the client at time of installation.

  • Queries Greyed out Remote Control

    Hello there
We have migrated from a Landesk platform to System center, and our admin team is used to seeing a main device view where they remotely control machines from. I have created the query I want but the remote control options are greyed out. I have been playing
with all types of queries and I can get some to work, but If I add a join to another query it just brakes it.. This is basically on the back of the below link.
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/a0e22223-0802-46a0-a1b7-048773620cca/sccm-2012-remote-control-from-queries?forum=configmanagergeneral
I would be grateful if you could provide me with any information, surrounding this topic area or if it is being reviewed in future releases.
    Thanks

I have pretty much been doing that torsten.... but I just can not get the desired query to work..
The other annoying thing, is when I have a query that allows remote control.. I link it to a device collection.. and it doesnt display all the fields in the query..
    Anyone else having these difficulties?
Are we going to see any improvements in this area going forward?

  • HP Thin T510 remote control

    Hi all
We have a thin client T510, but I'm unable to access the remote control option from control panel as the options are "greyed out". I want to allow full level of remote access but all the options are as I said "greyed out" I'm logged in as administrator. Any ideas?

  • User Initiated Remote Control - Behind NAT

I must be missing something. I am try to allow a laptop to request a
remote control session when it is disconnected from the network. When I
right-click on the remote management agent the option to request a
session is greyed out. Our user and workstation policy allow for the
user requested session and the ability to accept connections accross
NAT/Proxy. Assigning a password to the remote management agent also does
    not help. Any ideas?

I keep seeing that if a machine is behind a NAT'd firewall, like home for
instance, the user should be able to click on the Remote Management icon
and select Request Session. If the machine is on the local network, all RC
functions are fine. As soon as it's disconnected and behind a home
firewall or not even that, connected via dial-up to the net these options
go away. I have logged into the middle-tier via these methods and that
produces no change in my remote control options.
The error logs indicate that the workstation is not authenticated, which is
obvious, and that neither policies will be active.
    Hope that helps...

  • Zen Touch optional wired remote control to play FM radio how do I get it? or can it work without

One of the reasons why i am thinking of buying a zen touch is becuase it has a FM radio built in. From the website it says you need an optional wired remote control to listen to the radio, where can i get one in the uk? or can it work without it's

The Zen Touch doesn't have a radio built-in. You'd need this:

The Zen Micro does have an FM tuner built-in.

  • Zen Micro Wired Remote Control Prob

Anybody having problems with their supplied zen micro wired remote control?
Mine seems to be having a connection problem with the player, slight movements will cause breakages in the music, left earphones will cease playing out.
Seems that some people are having problems with zen micro's earphone jacks, however, using the supplied the earphones(minus the wired remote control) works well.

hmm, I had same problem with 2 days- was definetly a loose connection in the wiring of the remote plug, as has been no problem with other headpohnes, and is not the 'heasdphone jack' issue (yet! thank god!)
took 3 weeks to get replacement remote from creative (only returned remote, not Zen, luckily) have not really messed around with the replacement yet, but looks ok.... am really hoping so cos it is really useful for going mountain biking with the zen nice & secure in my backpack....

  • Remote Control and Remote View Problem

    Hi,
I work at a High School running Netware 6.0 SP5 and Zen works 4.01 ir7.
Remote Control and Remote View works great but I noticed one problem.
We have a logo of the school that is forced down on to the desktop when a
user logs in through group policies. This logo works perfect for the
desktop wall paper and loads every time a user logs in.
When I Remote Control or Remote View a computer the users desktop wall
paper turns from the logo being forced down through group policies to the
desktop to a blue desktop wall paper.
I would prefer the desktop wall paper staying the schools logo when I
Remote Control or Remote View because if the desktop wall paper changes to
the blue color I mentioned above when I Remote Control or Remote View the
users computer, they will know that someone is taking over their computer
which sometimes we dont want them knowing.
We have Windows 98SE computer running Novell Client 3.4 and we have some
computers running Windows XP Professional SP1 and Windows XP Professional
    SP2 both running Novell Client 4.91 SP2.
The Remote Control and Remote View problem of the desktop wall paper
changing on the users computer occurs on all operating systems mentioned
    above.
Is there a solution to my above problem? When Remote Controlling and
Remote Viewing someone's computer I don't want the desktop wall paper to
    change.
    Thanks!
