Zen repeatedly connects/disconnects from

This is my second Zen 4GB; the first had the white screen of death problem.
This one worked fine for a day or two. Now, when I plug it into my PC, it works for about 30 seconds, then the connection breaks, then connects again, then disconnects...ad nauseum.
This means that I can't synchronize or transfer anything to my Zen. I also can't get any work done on my PC while the Zen is plugged in, because of all the dialog boxes that pop up.
I've used two different USB cables; same result.
I am getting really ticked off about this. I've never had this sort of trouble with cheaper MP3 players. I want it to work so badly. What is with this product?

Does the connection break or does the Zen itself restart? I have a random restart problem when connected to my PC. I reported the problem to Creative and they were responsi've, but no help. It appears to be some sort of software interaction problem. I have tried the various recommendations including re-installing the software, re-installing the USB drivers, trying a different USB card, reseting the Zen, etc. It works fine on other computers. I am living with the problem right now, but it does always screw up the time and DRM.

  • 3rd gen nano keeps repetedly connecting/disconnecting from pc

hi my 3rd gen nano is repeatedly connecting/disconnecting from pc when plugged in.
please could someone help me with this situation it would be greatly appreciated thanks cant get it to stay connected to my computer.

    Hello there,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Have you tried a different cable or connecting it to a different USB port on your computer?
Otherwise the only suggestion I have for you is to try and force your iPod into *Disk Mode*. If you are successfully able to do that, it may help keep your iPod mounted long enough for you to perform a restore via iTunes.
Here are instructions on how to put your iPod into *Disk Mode*.

  • Firefox cannot load websites when connect/disconnect from any VPN connection

I am consistently uses OpenVPN and RamsesVPN connectivity. But whenever i switch between the VPN connectivity or connect into any VPN or disconnects existing VPN connectivity. My Firefox Browser is unable to load new webpages/Refresh existing open TABS.
In order to restore, i have to restart my Browser each time, whereas i am not facing this problem with Chrome.
I am running with Windows 7 Enterprise edition, and latest Firefox version.
Is there any method to avoid these restarts ?

Hi, this bug is old, but it has useful info for VPNs
    See for reference Bug 702111
And there are built in features on the about:config file that you can tweak the number of connections and allowing pipe lining: [http://support.vpnsecure.me/articles/ssh-tunnelling-proxy-troubleshooting/tweaking-firefox-for-best-performance-security Third party information on these connections]
Other suggestions I have seen are to add bookmarks while logged into either vpn. (For example, bookmark the frequent sites you use in either vpn in separate folders)
In Firebug, when you connect or refresh the page when moving from one VPN to the other, do you see a termination in the connection to the first vpn?

  • Connecting/Disconnection from the Dock

    Greetings,
An 'operational' question here. With my old (non-mac) MP3 player, I would just leave the USB cable plugged into the port at the back it the iMac display and connect and disconect the player from the free end of the cable when necessary.
Can I do this with the Shuffle? That is to say, can I leave the Docking Station plugged into the iMac all the time, and just plug the Shuffle into the Dock when I need to charge or change music?
    Thanks for any input.

    YES ... It's what I do.
Also, it's good practice to EJECT the shuffle in iTunes before removing it from the dock

  • Disconnected from iPhone repeatedly

    Hi.
The Apple Watch remains connected to my iPhone for most of the day when I am at work at my desk, or walking around.
However, it frequently disconnects itself when I am exercising outdoors. I cycle 30mins to work. When I start, I turn on Workout > Outdoor Cycle. As I cycle to work, I keep my iPhone in my jacket pocket. This morning, for example, I must have had to re-connect my Apple Watch to my iPhone at least 5-6 times. I'd cycle for a bit, check watch: connected. cycle for a bit, check watch: disconnected. I toggle Airplane Mode to reconnect to phone. check watch: disconnected. Repeat.
It's really annoying. While cycle time tracks while disconnected, distance travelled and calories etc does not.
    I'm using:
    - Apple Watch Sport 42mm Space Grey
    - iPhone5s iOS8.2
Anyone know what us causing the Apple Watch to frequently disconnect from iPhone?
    Tim..

I have been having a "disconnect" problem since receiving the watch.  I have tried all of the instructions in the manual to reconnect as well as calling tech support.  Nothing seems to work except pushing "reset" on the watch.  This deletes any credit cards that were authorized for Apple Pay and requires that you re-enter the card info and obtain re-authorization from the credit card company.  It also deletes any info collected in the Activity App and probably other things as well.  It is not a solution that I want to continue to use and the cause of this "disconnect" has not been determined.
Please tell me how to do the "reboot" that you mention for the phone and the watch.  I will try that next.  Thanks very much.

  • IPod Nano (4th Generation) switches on when connected to USB power - shows Menu & hangs (unresponsive to click wheel) - deems off after 5-sec - Switches off after disconnecting from USB Power - syncs with iTunes - Tried 5R's - Problem still persists

    1. The iPod Nano (4th Generation - 8GB) switches on, only when connected to USB power by showing apple logo and displays Menu options thereafter..
    2. However, I can not access Menu as it is unresponsive to click wheel. As a result it is inaccessible to any further use,
    3. NOTE: it displays "Battery Fully charged" icon on the screen without any "Lock" icon.
    4. After  5-sec to 10-secs the screen deems off.. i.e. goes to sleep mode.. And thereafter would probably remain like that (sleeeping) for eternity!!!!
    5. It Switches off after WITHOUT DISPLAYING any Apple Logo immediately after disconnecting from USB Power.
    6. In other words, it can be switched on only through USB power in spite of battery being fully charged.
    7. Interestingly, it syncs with iTunes. It is recognised in iTunes (Latest version 11+).. Displays on screen all commands Like.. syncronising, connecting, connected,
    8. Allows to add Music, videos like a normal ipod & displays all status information in iTunes.
    9. Read Trobleshooting & Tried all 5R's. Registered, Resetted, updated & Restored to iOS 1.0.2
    10. It is now displaying to select Language in place of Menu options, with no access through click wheel, centre button whatsoever... Problem still persists
KINDLY GUIDE ME THE SOLUTION. APPRECIATE YOUR RESPONSE in advance...

"I get the feeling that this is a software issue that could probably be solved quite easily"
Since you have already tried all the normal troubleshooting solutions, take the iPod to your nearest Apple Store for a *proper diagnosis.* The staff there will be able to confirm if your problem is software or hardware _*at no cost to you.*_

  • My new Mac Air continues to disconnect from WiFi after going to sleep.  When waking it up I have to manually re-connect.  How do I keep it connected?

My new Mac Air continues to disconnect from WiFi after going to sleep.  When waking it up I have to manually re-connect.  How do I keep it connected?

I had this problem too and solved it by doing a clean install. After that it was gone.
This is a drastic method since it takes quite some time to reinstall lion and all your software.
Thoughts I had why it started working after a clean install are the following:
It looked like the airport wasn't able to reconnect fast enough before the connection timed out. So what could have prevented my mac from being able to connect fast enough?
Apps that consume processor cycles. I love what I would call 'System Enhancers', little apps that enhance my workflow (Moom, Alfred, Dropbox, Default Folder etc). I'm not saying that these are the problem, they might be programmed processor friendly, but check if you have apps that consume processor cylcles. It might prevent airport from being able to reconnect quickly enough before it times out.
Mobile Config profiles. Another thought I had was that I had a mobile config 802.1X profile installed for the company were I worked. It used TTLS to connect to the corporate network. This profile might have gotten in the way.
    And a sidenote...
Routers with hardware acceleration might also be a problem. My router is a Wireless Gigabit Router 300N WL-351 and has hardware acceleration. As soon as I activate that my wifi connection keeps dropping. It is as if a Macbook Air can't handle that amount of optimisation.
That's it, hope it helps those who are still having the problem.
    Best, Jan

  • Why do I get the error message "iTunes Match could not download because disconnected from network?  I'm connected to the internet during that time with Safari so am I not connected to the network?

Why do I get the error message "iTunes Match could not be updated because you were disconnected from the network during processing."  I'm on the internet during all of this.  What disconnect is the message referring to?  Itunes is frozen now.  I keep clicking OK but it just comes back with no action.

    Hello FredJay,
Thank you for contacting Apple Support Communities.
iTunes Match needs a network connection to work, either Wi-Fi, cellular or wired. See the following:
Make sure you have an active Internet connection
Be sure your computer or device has an active Internet connection by loading a webpage using Safari or another web browser.
On an iOS device with cellular support, if you are not on a Wi-Fi network, try enabling 3G cellular data1 for iTunes Match.
For iOS 6, tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Use Cellular Data > On
For iOS 5.1.1 or earlier, tap Settings > iTunes & App Store > Use Cellular Data > On
1Fees may be associated with downloading over cellular networks; contact your wireless carrier for details.
