OK i put my new Zen Sleek Photo on charge two hours ago. when will i know if its completed charging?, the charge symbol is currently blinking

Hey i own a Zen MicroPhoto and I think all the symbols are the same. When its charges, the lightning bolt on the battery will stop and I think there would be like a plug thingo covering the battery.

how do i put photos onto my zen sleek photo. i have tried doing it through both the creative software that came with the zen and also through media player, both with no avail. please help!

I've been doing it through the Creative software, through the Zen Sleek Explorer, click on "Add Media" and add your pictures. I have also added pictures on the Sleek Photo through drag and dropand thirdly, through Windows Explorer, right click the pictures you want to transfer to the Sleek Photo and you'll get a menu entry "Transfer to Sleek Photo", that's the fastest way

Zen Sleek Photo, editing playlists on the unit itse

Is it possible to add tracks to a playlist on the unit itself? I find that as I listen to my music, there are certain songs that I want to add to the playlist that I know I won't remember once I get back home. To me it would only make sense to be able to do so. I've tried selecting a playlist, then finding the track and hitting Add to Selected, but that only adds it to the Now Playing list, and not the playlist itself.

You'll have to resave the playlist, then you can rename it and delete the older one when you get to a computer.

Zen Sleek Photo Freezes/Locks Up after about 5 minutes usage (need to drain battery to recov

My 20G Zen Sleek Photo has just recently transformed itself into a useless brick.
No matter what I try and do, it always ends up freezing after about 5 minutes usage. When you force a reset it does unlock but when it comes back on it sticks on the Creative "copyright" start up screen.
I've reformatted and re-installed the firmware several times but with the same result.

The only time it totally unlocks is when you either:
() let the battery fully drain and then recharge it or
(2) you disconnect the battery lead and then press the On/Off switch for several minutes.
I've looked everywhere for a solution/reason but nothing. You find plenty of people with the same problem but no answers. Surely someone knows how to fix the problem
Is it a faulty battery (unlikely because mine charges up fine and holds it charge well)
Is it the hard dri've (very unlikely since the player can start up correctly [given the above recovery procedure] and play tracks within the 5-0 minutes you have available)
Is it the firmware (I doubt it, I can't see what the firmware's got to do with a delayed lock up, having worked fine up to that point)
Is it the motherboard (maybe....., to my mind it points to a component failure that allows an electric charge to build up and not dissipate, the only way to discharge it is to short the battery pins [with, I hasten to add, the battery removed!])

I find it staggering that the guys at Creative have washed their hands of this problem. They, after all, are the most likely people to identify the problem - only they have a schematic of the motherboard that would allow them to investigate and locate the problem.
For the record the firmware I'm using is v .0.0.
Any guidance would be much appreciated,

Zen Sleek Photo - Can't reload firmw

I acidentally erased the firmware on my Zen Sleek Photo and I've been having troubles re-loading it. I downloaded the only firmware available on Creative's site for the Zen Sleek Photo and tried to run it, but it keeps saying that my player is not connected. My player is in fact connected and I don't know why it's not picking it up. I know Microsoft Windows is picking it up because I get that pop up that asks what I want to do when a media device is connected. I am basically stuck in recovery mode now because I can't load the firmware. Does anyone know how to fix this?

After hours of searching around the forums, I finally found the solution. Zen Sleek Photo - Dust Gathering Inside Scre

Purchased a Zen Sleek Photo a few weeks ago, and there is a gathering of dust below the screen, it isn't really noticable when the backlight is on, but when the screen is blank there is quite a lot of dust particles contained within.

This is a very common problem, and yes, you are going to have to deal with it.... There isn't a way that I know how to open the product to clean this screen. Sorry....
If there is a way, then please, someone post a how to. I would like to clean my scrren as well....

Zen Sleek Photo and Audi

Hi everyone. First let me say for the millionth time how much I love my Sleek Photo. It puts the iPod to shame period. I love my Zen Micro, but my heart belongs to the Sleek photo. it has everything I wanted and more!
My question is, how long will it be before this player is compatible with Audible? I'm using my Zen Micro for now, but want to make the Sleek photo my main player for everything. It has bookmarks so I assume, but we know what assume means:smileyvery-happy:, it will be compatible with Audible.
This is a dumb queastion, but can I not just download the Zen Sleek Audible firmware? I won't with out confirmation of coarse, but except for the photo part are they not basically the same player?

Thanks. I mentioned when I posted that question that it was stupid to ask. I should know better, hey I thought I should at least ask. I know you all think I'm whiny for buying a Zen that is not yet Audible compatible, but this player is just wonderful. I still have my Micro, which is great also, but I'm hoping the Sleek Photo will also be Audible compatible. A tech at Audible told me that if the ZSP has bookmarks it will no doubt be added at some future date. I hope so. Thanks for answering, you are one of the most knowledgeable posters on the forum and I thought I'd get a response from you first.

Creative Zen Sleek Photo - Microsoft 2010

Does anyone know how I would download the program for the Zen Sleek Photo so that I could use it on my new computer with microsoft 200. I tried the disk but it gives an error message about not being supported. HELP!!!

Sorry, I don't think the ZEN Sleek Photo is supported. The software that came with it is intended to work in Windows XP.

Zen Sleek Photo Transfer Probl

For the past 2 weeks or so my Zen will not upload music files. The software does not recognize that it is connected at all. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and also following the suggestions provided on the site. Is there anything else I can do?
Also, another minor problem is that it does not display the name of the songs that are playing.. instead it says select music to play

I hope you know that there is more than one Zen?

Charging Zen Sleek Photo by

Does anyone know how long it takes to fully charge the Zen Sleek Photo by a USB connection? I know the manual says it only takes 2 hours, but that's if you use the power adapter. I brought my Sleek Photo and the USB cord to work today to charge it up, but not the power adapter becuase I thought the USB cord would be sufficient. I've had it hooked up for over 2 hours now and the battery indicator hasn't even changed. Is this normal for charging through USB?

Thank you for your response. 4 to 6 hours and more for a full charge? Wow, I'm not going to forget to bring my power adapter then if I need to charge it in the future. That's basically a full work day. I have Zen Micro and it always charged from the USB fairly quickly. Zen sleek photo questions re: connect

[Zen Sleek Photo]. Is it possible to operate the device without installing the software. I'm considering removing the software because it is taking up too much space and not being helpful. I would like to use WMP, not sure which version, because that's where all my music is anyway. 2. how can i install drivers, etc if the device is not recognized by the computer, and in the instatllation process, this is a definite step. and how can i install updated drivers before connecting the device if this is also the case?3. what is the point of trying my zen on another computer if all the music i want to load onto it is on this computer, and that would mean installing the software first on another computer and that's not really feasible.
should i install the play for sure cd and forget my music is in WMP, is this program more suitable for dealing with these devices?

I have never seen it in Singapore. Also, we don't get all the new stuff. In fact, I haven't seen an actual Sleek, much less Sleek Photo. However, we do have the Microphoto.

Unfortunately, as the system requirements (on the site and box) detail, this player requires WindowsXP (with SP or later) or Windows XP Professional x64 edition. Windows98SE is not supported.

Zen Sleek Photo uploading Audio Book Iss

I have searched the forum and been unable to find any information about problems uploading an Audio Book into my Zen Sleek Photo. I was wondering if someone would be able to help me out? The file is not corrupted, I can play it in Windows Media Player, I just can't sync it into my Zen Sleek Photo. Whenever I try, an error message appears. The same is true when I attempt to use the software with which I downloaded the file (OverDri've).
The file is an audio book?digitally 'borrowed' from my public library and it is protected. I found a post by CATHERINA that she recommended using a Zen Sleek Photo for this same process. I was really hoping someone could help me out.
I did copy and paste the file into the player and?my player told me?I didn't have a license... I then?find out after reading (... on this forum or website... read so much today I can't remember!) that I can't do that b/c the license doesn't transfer over (oops!). I have always had great experience with the Customer Service from Creative so I hope everyone else has and that you guys have some great advice for me.... Thanks!

Thanks for responding!? I have tried following all of the steps they provided at their website. The program itself is pretty self explanatory. The problem always happens mid-transfer. For both WMP and OMC (OverDri've Media Center). I even updated everything I could for the Zen Sleek Photo, and as many of you know there really isn't all that much in the way of updates for it. I downloaded the ZenCast Organizer?thinking I could use it for all media types, not only ZenCasts, but I can't figure out how to put other files than ZenCasts into it. I'm usually not this computer illiterate!
I have tried using Real Player to upload the file as I read here in another post that some people managed to use that to get around file size issues (I think they were able to load smaller files, just not big ones whereas I can't load anything). Error message was reported and the list of errors ranged from not having the correct license (I feel this is incorrect as I can play the files on my computer... is that wrong?)?to the player not supporting that type of file. Does anyone know if the Sleek Photo's have problems with DRM's??I have even updated my WMP to and tried to upload the files again, same error message. Someone mentioned on another thread something about having an error b/c my ID Tags are insufficient for the player. I tried using my sync manager that came with the player, but it doesn't seem to want to do anything. It sat there for about 20 minutes searching or something. It was my last attempt so I got frustrated and decided to hold off on playing with it for a while.

Zen Sleek Photo and Nomad Zen X

I posted earlier about problems with Vista and the Zen Sleek Photo mp3 player. The Zen software is not compatible and won?t install.
After receiving some information from Creative, and after some further experimenting on my own, I have put together a procedure that will, in fact, do a full install of the Zen Sleek Photo on a machine running Vista.
I have also discovered that this installation procedure also works for my Nomad Zen Xtra ? a nice bonus!

It worked for me, and I have received feedback from several people already who have used this procedure with 00% success, so I know that it works!

I also own a Zen Sleek photo, and while I haven't had any of the problems you have mentioned with Napster; one problem you should watch for (currently experiencing it for the 2nd time!) is trying to play your music from Napster and not being able to because you get a message saying that "No license to play this track". And it's a huge problem, as it doesn't just affect one song, but your ENTIRE library. I fixed it once and am trying to find out how to do it again. Once I do, I'll probably leave Napster, but I will probably have to download ALL my music again.
