I?have recently purchased a new computer.
I have loaded 250 CD's on my Zen Sleek Photo from an old computer & want to transfer all the CD's to my new computer by the the Sync Manager. I was able?to load the software?on the new computer but it wont let me transfer from the mp3 player to the new computer without?putting in the product?key code, which i have lost. Can someone give me a key code that i can?use to make this work? thanks, Doug

Unfortunately, as the system requirements (on the site and box) detail, this player requires WindowsXP (with SP or later) or Windows XP Professional x64 edition. Windows98SE is not supported.

I have just recieved my wonderful new Zen Sleek Photo 20GB, and right now I am only allowed to test it (Christmas present ^^)
I am very impressed with the player, absolutely wonderful
Of course there are a few problems/annoyances with the player.
I haven't been able to thoroughly look at the player, but a few things have come to my mind already.
I am sorry if this thread is perhaps too big :-/ But I really like the Creative MP3 players and want to enjoy my player as much as possible and recommend them to my friends.

The most annoying thing is with Artist names!
When you browse the artists, it looks for COMPLETE ONES, exactly as in the tag.
This is a very big problem for me... I would really prefer having it search IN the tags..
So if I look for Dr. Dre, it will find him with ANY of the features in the song.
I don't want it to display about 30 different ones with him in...
For example:
Dr. Dre
Dr. Dre, Mel Man
Dr. Dre, Hitman, Eve
Dr. Dre, Eminem
Dr. Dre, Hitman, Eve, Eminem
etc etc etc
This becomes very annoying and makes an extremely long list.
So what I would like to see, is that it just shows Dr. Dre as ONE artists, and then show his albums with ANY of the featured artists, not only solos.
Secondly......

I have been looking around for images to add to my player as background pictures and found that there is no option to "fit to screen". When you view pictures it adjusts to the >> full-screen << size, not the actual menu size..
I think there should also be stretch/tile etc options.

I think it would be much much better to be able to listen to music whilst viewing pictures..it's just not the same :-/

I think it is a shame you can only view jpegs on the Sleek Photo
It would be very easy to allow it to display PNG, GIF, BMP files and maybe even VIDEOS.
I am sure many people would be the sleek over another player because of that.

This isn't much of an inconvenience, but it would be a nice little feature
So you can set or there is automatically an image set for the folder, so you don't have to wait for the address to display at the bottom. That is a bit too long sometimes too with the /pictures etc (If I remember correctly *hope*)
I really hope Creative gets around to making some additions to the firmware, user contact is the key to user satisfaction.
Something else I should say, is the products need updating on various area-specific creative sites. The Sleek wasn't even on some.
I couldn't search for any updates to the sleek photo as it wasn't on the US site for updates either.

This range of players have always worked from tag data, so it will always show what's in the tags. If you want to see different data then it's a case of changing the tags.
Similarly the search works on start of string data, rather than searching as a substring. It might be too much for the small brain of this player to do substring searching, but still a good wishlist item. No Creative players do substring searching to-date.

I guess it might be a case of adjusting the pixels and aspect ration of the file?
I don't have the player, so just a guess.
Still a nice wishlist for pictures you don't want to have to mess with.

There's a petition on this for the Micro Photo. Clearly Creative have listened as the Zen Vision:M will be able to do this, and hopefully they'll backtrack firmware for the Micro and Sleek Photo to do it also.

Again, see the Vision:M. It does all this.
I couldn't search for any updates to the sleek photo as it wasn't on the US site for updates either.
Did you try the European site? Ultimately it's very new so they might not be any updates.
What with the similar release times of the Sleek Photo and Vision:M it might be that regions forego the Sleek Photo and replace with the Vision:M anyway.

Zen Sleek Photo on Windows 98

My 20GB Zen Sleek Photo arri'ved today, but my computer won't let me run the installation disc. It keeps giving me a message saying that the Windows operating system on my computer is not supported by the product. Is there any way of getting around this? I would appreciate it if someone couple help, thanks.

As far as your problem with connecting, I can't really help you there. It COULD be your computer but I remember someone telling me to use a different USB port than you're already using. If it's plugged into the front of your computer, try using a back port. That worked for me (for a while anyway). Good luck to you two.

Zen Sleek Photo - Dust Gathering Inside Scre

Purchased a Zen Sleek Photo a few weeks ago, and there is a gathering of dust below the screen, it isn't really noticable when the backlight is on, but when the screen is blank there is quite a lot of dust particles contained within.

This is a very common problem, and yes, you are going to have to deal with it.... There isn't a way that I know how to open the product to clean this screen. Sorry....
If there is a way, then please, someone post a how to. I would like to clean my scrren as well....

I lost my zen sleek photo installation cd and now need the drivers, what should i do'? could anyone upload somewhere the installation cd image file?

I had the same problem. After stumbling around I finally clicked the "Identify Your Product" link in the "Downloads" section and then selected MP3 players. This gave me a page listing all the MP3 devices with their product numbers (http://93.95.7.84/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCG....com,case=0848). From this page, I selected the Zen Sleek (NOT the?Photo!). Does Zen Sleek Photo require AC adapt

I am considering buying the Zen Sleek Photo 20gb in a refurb model. My only concern is that customer reviewers state that even though the manual says it comes with an AC charger (and that it is required for charging) it does not have one and that you are required to buy it aftermarket for about $30. Is this true?BTW, I just purchased the 8gb Microphoto and have just installed it and played one classical album. It appears to be a very fine unit. Can anyone comment as to whether the Zen Sleek Photo is at least as good a product as the Microphoto?

The reason I'm concerned about this is that the reviewers claim that the AC adapter that the manual claims is in the box in not there with the refurbished model and that it must be purchased separately. I am looking for a MP3 Player and recorder that has the following:
. Quality line-in recording capabilities, preferably built in, but if not at least avaible through and attachment or something.
2. Quality voice recording capibilities to MP3 files.
3. Variable Sample Rate
4. Variable Bit Rate
5. A very good Signal to noise ratio.
6. At least 2 gig (perferably much more) of dri've space.
I am not so concerned about Radio capabilities.
I am not so concerned about size and weight.
I am mainly using the player/recorder to record classes that are hooked up to a stereo system (hence the
need for quality line-in recording) as well as classes that are not hooked up to a audio system, hence the need for quality microphone recording.
I want high quality recordings, but with some flexibilty regarding things like sample rate if file size becomes an issue.
I would like not to have to constantly upload my recordings to my PC, hence the need for substantial dri've space.
I am curious about the Creative Zen Sleek Photo (20 GB). It seemed to have a lot of what I was looking for. Is the bit rate adjustable and is there line-in recording for this model?
Please let me know what products are avaible that have what I am looking for.

Nope, I havent seen any complaints about the MicroPhoto's headphone jack, and I have had no problems with mine.
You should be fine with it. And keep your eyes open for the sales, I saw Best Buy selling the 8GB for $30.

Has there been any official confirmation that there will be a Zen Sleek Photo I mean I've seen the pictures, but even my grandmother can use photoshop these days...

[Zen Sleek Photo]. Is it possible to operate the device without installing the software. I'm considering removing the software because it is taking up too much space and not being helpful. I would like to use WMP, not sure which version, because that's where all my music is anyway. 2. how can i install drivers, etc if the device is not recognized by the computer, and in the instatllation process, this is a definite step. and how can i install updated drivers before connecting the device if this is also the case?3. what is the point of trying my zen on another computer if all the music i want to load onto it is on this computer, and that would mean installing the software first on another computer and that's not really feasible.
should i install the play for sure cd and forget my music is in WMP, is this program more suitable for dealing with these devices?

Zen Sleek Photo on Vi

I just got vista and I cant use my sleek photo on it. I tried installing the original software that came with it and no luck. I read through some of the other posts about this and heard something mentioned about mediasource 5 but dont know where to download this.

Zen Sleek Photo - XP doesn't install player

Hi peeps,
Being a Creative fan :smileysurprised: I decided to add the Zen Sleek Photo to my repertoire of Creative kit (Gigaworks S750 and X-Fi Fatality SoundBlaster).
Well, it arri'ved this morning and after installing the software (except WMP0 as I already had that) I plumbed in the player and after getting the XP bubble "Found New Hardware" and the "Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard", when prompted to install the software for it, all I'm getting is:-
"... There was a problem installing this hardware
MTP Device
An error occured during the installation of the device
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fasion..."
Any ideas as to what the problem is?
Hope someone can help as I'm mega frustrated that I can't even get any of my tunes on it to even give it a whirl - looks nice though

Zen Sleek Photo Improveme

I'm just wondering if Creative ever plans on giving more features to the Zen Sleek Photo through a firmware update. For example, is it possible to be able to listen to music while viewing photos? Or is it possible to other things while you are listening to the radio? Maybe even add some new skins (the current default skins are very poor, not only because they don't look very nice but they are simply difficult to see because of the color scheme)? And how about Windows Vista 32 and 64 bit drivers? I can't remember for sure now, but when I think when I tried Vista out, the Zen Sleek Photo did not like Windows Media Player or IE7...will this at least be fixed?
I would really like to see certain things fixed with the Zen Sleek Photo through a firmware update of some-sort, I believe this player has more potential. Is it possible for at least one company out there to just try making a simgle quality product that is reasonably priced and is well supported instead of just creating more players...each with a few more features than the last. Of course, how would you worm every possible cent out of our pockets then, eh?

Dear people of the ZEN world. Please do not bang on Creative. They design their products that will work on current operating systems. It seems like the only time problems crop up is when M*oft designs new software, then there are problems. Wish they just fixed existing problems not create more. I have the Sleek Photo and it works flawlessly with XP Home. I did not install the optional media software from M*oft for fear it would screw something up. Just installed what came from Creative and between that and explorer I can do all that you can do with Sleek Photo, play music and view photos. If I want to keep a schedule I will use a note book, not waste space on Sleek Photo. So please, once again, do not bang on Creative. ZEN sleek photo, computer not registering

hi I purchased a zen photo sleek today, i charged it up to full, installed the software, and connected my player to the computer. However, a message came up on the screen saying "what do you want to do with the device, explore with zen sleek photo explorer, or media player etc.." i clicked 'explore with zen sleek photo explorer' however when the program started up it stated my player was not connected, which it clearly was, full battery, sitting right in front of me. I tried to register the product, but again it simply said that an unregistered player had not been recognised? can someone please help me, this is very frustrating, and im having to make do with listening to the factory creative music, lol.
