Zen Sleek Touchpad problem - scrolling down acts like a scroll

Yes, a strange problem I ran into today. Everytime I try to scroll down using the touchpad on my Zen Sleek, the cursor moves up instead. It's like the whole touchpad can only move the cursor in one-direction, up. Even if I try to use the rapid-scroll, the cursor just moves up rapidly
This happened yesterday, when on one bar of battery, my Sleek, around the afternoon froze while starting up and I could not restart it because I did not have a paperclip on me. After I get home hours later, I charge my Sleek since the battery died. And, now, today... I am at this rather strange problem.
And, my Sleek hasn't given me problems since I bought it a year ago besides the occasional lockups on one-bar of battery.

. Detach the Zen player from your PC , and ensure that the Zen Sleek is turned off.
2. Connect the power supply to the player.
3. Hold down the Play/Pause button while inserting a paper clip into the Reset hole
underneath your player, beside the data/power connector. Keep on holding the
Play/Pause button while you release the Reset button. The Rescue Mode screen will
then appear.
4. After the recovery mode has started, release the Play/Pause button
It will display the following options.
Clean Up
Scans the player and removes invalid links from its music library.
Does not affect music files themselves.
Format (All)
Caution! Erases all content!
Save a copy of your player's content before formatting.
Reload OS/ Firmware
Caution! Erases your player's firmware.
DO NOT select the Reload Firmware option unless you have access to a PC and you have downloaded the necessary firmware to install.
Reboot Reboots the device.

    I got my Zen Sleek about two and a half weeks ago and I've having a big problem with it.
    The touchpad isn't working when the Sleek isn't connected to the computer or the power supply. When it's just the Sleek and the headphones, the touchpad won't work. Yesterday I dropped it on the floor and ever since then the touchpad hasn't worked unless it was connected.
    I tried resetting it but that didn't do anything except for one time, the volume scroll pad worked but it only went up. If I select an album or a song before I unplug it, then the song still plays but I can't adjust the volume or select a different song unless I plug it in again.
    The on/off and the hold button work so at least I can turn it off but I have no idea what I should do.

  • Zen Sleek Harddisk Problem

    Hi All,
    This is the first time I've ever encountered this and it has me worried. The past few times I turned on my Zen Sleek it went into recovery mode. I figured I would do a disc cleanup, but that doesn't seem to be working. It sat for /2 hour without saying the disc had been cleaned. Anyway, I went to reload the firmware and then I ran into the harddisk problem. It won't let me reload the firmware and I can't get out of recovery more. I've shut down, rebooted, and paper clipped a dozen times & I'm still in recovery mode. Any sugesstions? I've only had the thing for 9 months and I've never dropped it. I would be a real shame and very disappointing if it died already. Any help is appreciated.

    To be honest, you've already lost all the data because the dri've it's on has failed. Kinda like how your data on a CD is basically gone if you bust the CD in half.
    As for why the dri've died, lots of things can kill a hard dri've. Excessi've vibration, shock, ESPECIALLY drops while the unit is on. And possibly the #2 hard dri've killer: jogging with the player. Or maybe it was a dud, it happens, that's why we have a warranty.
    Gi've Customer Support a call, they'll want to do some troubleshooting to be sure, and then they can set you up for service. You can also email in if you don't have time to call, on the support page of this website.

  • New Zen Sleek Connection Problem...Frustrated...Please He

    Hi All,?My Zen Sleek died about 2 months ago. I sent it back to Creative and I think I was sent a new one which I really appreciate. Anyway, I hooked it up to my new computer and it is not recognizing my Zen. It makes the noise of being connected but then makes a noise that kind of sounds like it's disconnected. It's really strange. I don't know what to do. The Zen actually turned off after a little while & then I had to reset it. Any ideas what it could be? It's very frustrating as I have been waiting for so long to get it back. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

  • Zen Sleek - MAJOR PROBLEMS Please He

    Hey guys. First post here. Me and my sister are owners of the Creative Zen Sleek (monochrome screen). They worked very well when we first bought them, but a week later my sisters Sleek would not turn on, would freeze on the Creative and Zen Sleek screen, and make weird noises.
    That one was exchanged promptly at the store we purchased it at for a new one. From then (December) till last week, they had worked great. My sister's Sleek had problems yet again. But this time, it wouldn't even get to the Creative or Zen sleek screen. It would just make weird noises. I was pretty apalled at that. Then a week later, the same exact thing happens to my Sleek. I've tried everything with both of them. Resetting via the bottom pin-hole, charging them, etc. I don't understand how all of them have broken. And yes, they have all been treated very well, not dropped, disconnected from the computer at the right time, etc.
    Somebody please give me some advice, I have no idea what to do. I don't want to get new ones, and then have the same problem happen again within a few months. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED mine when it worked, it seemed heads and tails above the iPod. Please help.

    Both my sisters and my Zen Sleek have died. They pretty much won't function at all. If I actually boot it up, and go to play a song, the player will just freeze after a couple of minutes. When I go to recovery mode, I cannot clean the disk, and if I can, it will freeze again. I've re-uploaded the firmware twice already, and the same thing happens. What can I do? I can't accept defeat, and buy a new player, because I have no money. I've babied the player, and have only dropped it 3 times.

    My zen sleek photo gives me this error message when I try to transfer nusic from Napster "Your portable device has stopped responding. To restart your transfer, please disconnect and reconnect your device. Tracks will begin transferring when the device is connected."?I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting, this does not work. I have also tried the recovery mode using the Clean up and reboot options. I am afraid to try Format and Reload Firmware, since my MP3 player continues to stop responding. Disconnecting and reconnecting does not work here either. I was successful in initially transferring about 50 - 75 songs from Napster. I have also been able to and still can'transfer music from cd's to my MP3 player. It?appears as though Creative Media Explorer, Creative Media Source Player and?Creative Media Source Organizer are all operating OK with my MP3 player.     Sorry, no I can't transfer music. You would first have to let WMP scan the folder where the songs are. Once they are in your Library section right click the songs and choose Add to Sync List. Then click on the Sync tab and click on Start Transfer and it should transfer over. After choosing Add to Sync List. Then click on the Sync tab and click on Start Sync I get this error message from WMP "Windows Media Player cannot access the file.   • Zen Micro - TouchPad problem and 2 suggest

    i've bough Zen Micro just a week ago, and it works well with the standard song inside it.
    then, installed the CD, upgrade all by support download and also upgrade the firmware.
    When i've unplugged USB my touchpad seems not responding, also the power button. the only method to turn off it is removing the battery. -.-"
    the only think that works are the volume (just up and down, but not click) and the hold on position. the other think outside the pad seems works well, it can connect to PC, can delete file, and so on.
    i just put it without battery some days and when try to re-use, it works perfectly!
    now i've upgrade the firmware to .0 and go back to the official released avaiable, and that happens again! but now also the volume pad don't work at all...
    I think that it's only a software problem, but i can't reboot the player because my pad don't works !!!
    but when i insert the battery and press the hold on the rescue menu appears, but the same button don't work for turn the zen off.
    What can i do ?
    Can have the 4 safety menu option via software? (suggest)
    oh another stupid think, OT : when register in creative support, plz make the text box with the term of use readonly, because i can delete all the condition and press AGREE, so i think i virtually have no condition

    If the controls aren't working in Rescue Mode the player is faulty unfortunately. You need to contact Creative Support.

  • The insert cursor is at the top of the page and as i scroll down the insertion cursor scrolls down as well when I use the directional buttons.

    in all tabs once i open firefox the scrolling is kind of messed up. IE i'll be on any web site and click the down button it scrolls all the way down to the bottom or it will only scroll some. It was a problem months ago and have recently reinstalled Firefox and the problem persists. Please help

  • There is a processing delay. When typing in Word there is a delay between when a key is hit and when the corresponding character appears on the screen. Another example is when scrolling down a page, the scroll is also delayed.

    What is cause of processing delay. Fraction of a second delay between hitting a key and seeing result on screen. Another example is when scrolling, the scroll is delayed for a fraction of a second.

    This is only in Word? Sounds like Microsoft's software has a bug. Have you checked for available updates in Microsoft AutoUpdate?

  • X220 Touchpad Doesn't Scroll Down, but scrolls up

    I just got my X220, installed all relevant Windows and Lenovo updates, restarted several times, but the touchpad doesn't scroll down.  It only scrolls up. 
    Also the touchpad tap action (which is same as left click) is not as responsive as I like.  Is there a setting for that?

    It is a bit more responsive now and is scrolling down more.  Not sure what has changed.  It is still not as responsive as it should be.  I'm clearly sliding my finger down on the scroll side of the touchpad and it doesn't scroll.  Yet sometimes it scrolls.  Something is still wrong.

    I've got a Flex 3 project. I'm having some problems gettting an iFrame to work. If I open my project in a normal size browser window, it looks fine. If I open it in a smaller window with scrolllbars and scroll down, then the iFrame scrolls down as well and covers content. How do I keep the iFrame from obscuring content when scrolling.
    My iFrame looks like:

    Now, I've got it so that the iFrame doesn't overlap. But the problem is that if the user opens a small browser window, they don't get scrollbars. How can I solve this problem? Is there a way to force the browser to put up scrollbars?

  • Zen Sleek Photo Re-loading Library at Powe

    My Zen Sleek Photo Player has started acting weird on me. When I power it up it goes through a re-building library phase before the powerup is complete. When it is powered up, it plays my music; but doesn't indicate what music it is playing on the screen. I cannot get my pc to recognize that my player is connected to it, so I cannot download music or podcasts. Some of my music has disappeared and all of my saved podcasts are gone. I have gone through the reboot routine, but to no use. Have I played my beloved player to death? Anyone have similar problems or suggestions. I trolled through the message board but didn't find a similar problem. Thanks.

    You can try formatting but take note that you will lose the contents in the player. You might also want to try connecting to another computer or try using another usb cable to see if it gets detected.
    If that still does not work or is not possible, you probably need to contact support to get it sorted out.

    Thats sounds like gd news. I'll wait one day and get the player on friday instead and try and find out about it quickly thanks for support mate. If the information is added in this thread that wud be great to hear! Is there any sleek owners out there and have there views on the player? Was agreeing prob with a comment made in another thread. This forum is prob for a small selection of problems that people are having with their zen players and dat the majority of customers are definately satisfied with their players. U agree?Jonny

    i've tried reconnecting to the computer and it still isnt workin
    the little popup on the computer says that the device is faulty so it doesnt really recognise it

    When I scroll down the las image and the footer content is not visible, then when I scroll up the header content and menu are not visible, at the beginning they are but not when I come back.
