Zen style 100 - how turn on after 'idle shutdown'?!

The default idle shutdown time is 5 mins - so how do you turn it back on after it shuts down (without connecting to a computer or charger - if you're 'out and about', like)?

Hi
I'm getting really stupid - I hadn't even checked the start guide to find out what was to be the on/off switch!? I pressed everything like an idiot and then posted on a forum. ?'Press and hold' hadn't occured to me.
Anyway, thanks :-)?

  • ZEN Style 100

I bought a ZEN Style 100 for my little brother. I also bought him "Eragon" as an audio book on mp3-CD and copied it into the Music folder on the Zen. My first gripe is that I wasn't able to work out how to do that with the software that comes on the player, because it didnt show up in the media library and there is no option to search and add files to the library.
Anyways, the ZEN played the files fine, but they were in random order, because the files didn't have track-number entries in their ID3 tags when I copied them from the original! CD.
So I entered the Track number by hand to the files. The problem is: whenever I change anything in the ID3 tags of a file it won't show up on the ZEN anymore! What can I do?

    Hi,
You might want to use a playlist to have the player play the tracks in a specific order.

  • Yoga 13 display does not Turn off after idle

I have the computer set to the balanced power option, and the disaplay is set to turn off after 5 minutes on battery and 10 minutes when plugged in. Unfortunately the screen never turns off.
Anyone know how to fix this problem ?

    hi tmpst,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
If a wireless device (mouse, keyboard, etc.) is plugged to the computer, the display, screen saver or sleep function might not work. If this is your case, try to:
    1. Remove your wireless device (might include a usb dongle)
    2. Apply the Moving mouse causes laptop to exit sleep mode fix
If you have Power DVD installed, apply http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913405
    Let me know your findings.
    Cheers.

  • The transferring of mp3 to Creative Zen Style 100 stops

    Hello,
several weeks ago i bought Creative Zen Style 00. Everything worked perfectly for the first 2 times (I mean the transferring from PC to the player) but then something went wrong - it transfers or a few songs from the album and then it stops (showing, e.g. "5 seconds left" all the time). Then it shows: error and "The path is too deep". ?And it happens only on my PC. Do I need some kind of driver (i tried to download everything i found) or what...
    Thanks in advance

    ;Hello Vyte,
    Welcome to Creative forums!
A couple of things you might need to check:
.) Check for songs with long file names. Try to shorten file names and don't use special characters.
2.) Try to shorten the number of sub folders. Just to make sure, limit it to three (main folder->sub folder->sub folder).
    Hope this hel
    ps.

  • Unable to Download Creative Centrale for Zen Style 100

I've recently purchased a Zen Style 00 however I'm unable to transcode videos for the device as the necessary software (Creative Zen Style Starter Pack) on the Creative web page has a bad link (http://support.creative.com/downloads/download.aspx?nDownloadId=352).
Could anyone please redirect me to a working link?
    Thank you,
    ~Proto

    :Tried the link,
On clicking agree I get the following error
    "The page cannot be found.
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable."
I've encountered this error on all the Style 00 downloads. Does anyone know what's going on at Creative's site or can recommend an alternati've download.
    Thanks,
    proto

  • Power Mac G4 not turning on after clean shutdown, works otherwise.

My Power Mac G4 does not turn back on after a clean shutdown, but turns on after being disconnected from the power. If I shut it down cleanly (Apple menu -> Shutdown), it shuts down, but then the power button does not work. After unplugging the computer and plugging it back in, the computer is able to power on successfully. I have reset the PRAM and have reseated the PSU connector.
I am using Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.11, but the same problem occurs under Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.8. I don't think the operating system really matters with this type of issue though, because the power button literally will not respond until I unplug and replug the computer.
    Any suggestions?

Still not sure what Mac you have, but do you have a multimeter?
You can convert an ATX PSU for use on a G4...

  • MacBook Will Not Turn On After Random Shutdown

I was running a number of processes on my Mac while servicing another computer, and out of the corner of my eye noticed my Mac just shut down, randomly, with no warning.
I have had this issue before with overheating issues, but the laptop turns itself back on afterward or can be turned on after it has cooled down a bit.
This time around, using the power button yields no results. No lights, no sound, no fans, nothing. It's like a black MacBook 1G brick at this point.
Has anyone else heard of or experienced these issues? I will be contacting Apple support, but I purchased this item two years ago. I believe it has overheated and caused a permanent short on the board, or it is possible a component of the hardware has failed. Since this is a hardware issue, is it likely Apple will repair it free of charge?
Does anyone have experience retrieving data from laptop hard drives after such an event, where the computer can not be turned back on?
    Thanks,
    Alex

Have had my new MacBook for less than a week and it is doing the same thing. Tried everything in the book, including re-installing from the Utility Discs. This happened after attempting to use new Airport Extreme wireless router, which was supposed to be an auto-install, but all it did was crash my MacBook.
Apple Support says this have never ever happened before, and is something that cannot happen. Same with local Apple Repair Facility. They will not replace the laptop and apparently warranty will not cover repairs, which I was advised could be several hundred $$$, though they have no idea what is wrong. Took the MacBook back until I get some answers. Looks like I have a $1300 white plastic doorstop with an Apple logo on it.

  • IMac wont turn on after random shutdown

I was watching a show on my computer and I also had MS word open, and all of a sudden my computer shuts off like it had been unplugged. So I waited a little bit, and tried to turn it on, nothing. So I unplugged it and plugged it back in, and tried to turn it on again, nothing. I've waited for about while now and nothing happens, no noises. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem, or knows anything about it.
    Thanks
    O

Hi and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
    Try Resetting the PRAM
If that didn't help, boot from your install disk, run Disk Utility and make sure the startup disk is ok.
Insert your install disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
*(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)*
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your start up disk and click Restart
While you have the Disk Utility window open, look at the bottom of the window. Where you see Capacity and Available. *Make sure there is always 10% to 15% free disk space*

  • Won't turn on after UPS shutdown

I've got a APC UPS on my MacPro Server (Back-UPS XS 900). Monday we had a power outage, and the server shut down. It didn't come back up when the power was restored, even if in Energy Saver the preference is there.
This UPS was on a Linux Server prior to the MacPro, and the UPS Service on it turned the UPS down in the shutdown procedure. When the power went back, everything started again normally. Is there a way to do that with my setup or a way to make the server power on again?

    Try resetting the SMC:

If no success, make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar for a FREE evaluation.

  • Problem making playlists with new Zen Style 300

/Problem making playlists with new Zen Style 300hI follow this procedure from the support page:
    http://support.creative.com/kb/ShowArticle.aspx?sid=804
I also have tried many other options and procedures, but each time the playlist that ends up on the player has only a few of the songs that I put on the play list. all the songs do exist on the player, but seems to randomly select only a small subset of the songs - example: 6 original, 2 get on the list, 30 on teh original, 6 get on the player's play list.
The odd part is if I go back to the player at some later time and connect via creative central, the correct playlist displays on the PC. However, is still wrong (truncated) on the player. So it seems to remember the correct play list, but just does not display correctly on the player.
    PC OS - win7
    creative centrale version .8.03
zen style 300 sw version: .0.07
Anyone get this to work on the zen style 300?
    Norm

?After many attempts? (like 6) with creative support to convince them this was a software bug, the end state response was to send the player back. Using better judgement, I waited for a new software release and indeed the problem was fixed in a subsequent release of the software.
My main frustration here was they seem to not want to escalate problems quickly to the right level of technical support that actually understands the software/debugging? vs hardware? and can look through a set of debugging steps and tests I sent in the first notes and realize it is not something hardware related. Even after citing my degrees in computer science/electrical engineering and having designed/debugged systems much more complex than this, all I got was simple procedural steps to repeat or send it back, it is a hardware problem. Ug!

pls help me how to reboot my macbook air,.. because starting it up was not successful. the screen just turns blue after the apple logo appeared.

i know loads of people who have had this problem including me.  The Java script update apparently had some virus that has overloaded the start up disk.   I took to apple who said i have to have the machine rebuilt but first i have to go to a data recovery company to get back everything that was on it.  Data recovery company have quoted me nearly £1000.

If what Allen says does not fix the issue I have seen this as a Hardware issue and I would get into an Apple Store if it is close by

  • How to make smart shape buttons turn colors after clicking on them?

How to make smart shape buttons turn colors after clicking on them?  I am using buttons as links to learning paths and would like users to know which buttons they have allready clicked on when returning to main menu.

This is reply I got from Adobe support.  I will try and let you all know what works best:
Here is the workflow which you can follow to achieve this functionality.
Puspendra: You can choose image button and then choose from the available image buttons, or click on the folder icon when you select the image button and choose from the Gallery of Captivate 6.
Puspendra: Few image buttons change color on hover or onclicked, these effects are predefined in them.
Puspendra: Or you can edit that button on which you are working, from properties Panel.
Puspendra: The Post and Cancel button on this thread seems like a transparent button in Captivate with different fill and stroke color, and transparency is also less, and with corner radius of 0.
Puspendra: You will find these all optionns, when you will click on that button and then click on the properties panel.
