Zen Touch - Can't Scroll Up?

Had my Zen TOuch about a week, the thing has frozen a few times and now the touch pad just refuses to scroll up, the sensitivites and speeds are identical, eg cenntre scrolls down slowly and the bottom(AND TOP!) scrolls down quickly. Anyone else had problems along these lines? Trouble is I'm going on holiday for 2 months tomorr,w cant really get a replacement for a while. Any ideas?

Always when you have these kinds of problems try resetting the player and running a disk cleanup. To access the Rescue Mode hold down the play button and KEEP it held down, press the tiny reset switch once, and KEEP the play button held down until the player boots into the Rescue Mode. Choose Disk Cleanup from the menu.

Zen Touch - Unable to scroll

I know this topic was addressed in an earlier thread, but I was unable to read the entire thread (see "Zen Touch- Can't Scroll Up!?!?). Hoping somebody can help me out
My Zen Touch will not allow to scroll up. It even scrolls down when I want to go up, which is really frustrating. Resetting the player does not help. Is this something I can solve on my own, or do I have to send it away to get it fixed? Apparently I am not the only one who has had this problem; if it is a consistent defect I will be decidedly opposed to paying for it to be fixed.

It does sound like a physical problem with the scrollpad. It would be best to contact Customer Support to see what they advise, and if they can arrange a repair for you.

Zen Touch - Can't Load Library to Creative Media Sou

Background: Creative Zen Touch, 40GB, with 536 albums/5800 tracks. Microsoft XP. Have loaded latest version of MediaSource. Have also deleted library from laptop hard dri've (as instructed on Creative knowledgebase site, with assumption that it could be corrupt.) Have not reset the player, since it seems fine, standalone. Have rebooted the laptop.
I'm a moron...though I really did try to search forums and knowledgebase before this plea for help.
Symptom: Player works fine. When I plug it into laptop, it's recognized, and "Loading Library, Please Wait" screen appears, but there's no activity shown in the screen (e.g. progress bar). Player shows "docked".
How I may have screwed things up: I was in MediaSource yesterday, looking at library of the player. I noticed a typo and changed it in MediaSource. Other than that, I'm not sure what I might have done. No changes to laptop configuration.

Update: I've now uninstalled and reinstalled the software (player and MediaSource) from the laptop. I've also reinstalled the device driver, since this didn't seem to come across in the full-software installation. No change in symptom: laptop still won't loan library from player. Thanks.

Zen Touch - can't start recovery mode

I have also been trying to fix my frozen Touch, and followed Bismarck's instructions carefully, but after loading the Firmware 2..0 my Touch now opens to a screen that says
"Now Playing"
"Add music from Library"
"Press menu Button"
Pressing Menu button does nothing, and scroll bar does not work, and it is not possible to make Recovery Mode start by inserting pin in Restart hole whilst holding Start/Pause.
Everybody else seems to be unable to get out of Recovery Mode, but I cannot make it start!
Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong please? Thanks

LG Cosmos Touch --can't scroll

I just got this phone yesterday and when the store rep demonstrated it to me it seemed fine. I'm unable to get the screen to scroll through contacts, settings items etc. Apparently I'm missing something since it worked fine at the store. Example: I unlock the screen, touch Menu>contacts --the contacts come up ok but I'm unable to scroll through them using the touch screen. Same is true of all other menu items I've tried. By the way i did go through the calibration routine ok.

My phone volume varies but I think I figured it out. However, my Cosmos illuminates itself for no reason! I will be holding it and the light, sometimes with the screen,just turns on. At night, I have to keep it turned face down because the light actually wakes me up! I had the phone replaced once, but since the problem still exists, I decided it wasn't worth the hassle of replacement...so I just turn it over! Any ideas?

Zen Touch as an external hard driv

I've heard a rumor that the Zen Touch can be "upgraded" so that no driver is needed for it to appear in Windows as an external dri've. Is this so? 'Cause it's extremely annoying that your not allowed to transfer music form, for example, a friends computer, without the installation disc.

Zen Touch still not working on pC

After countless tries, and following of instructions by Uber Gurus and whatnot, My zen touch can still not work on my pc.
Since I got my zen, it worked fine on my pc, but randomly one day it started malfunctioning.
It started with my pc freezing on loading the library in nomad explorer and mediasource, now the library does not load at all and nomad explorer shows nothing. GODDAAMNIT this is pissing me off.
It works on another computer but that's not what's bothering me.
I have installed the newest drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled, I've done the same with mediasource and nomad explorer.
--I have gone into recover mode, cleaned up, and rebooted, result: NONE!!!
It works on another computer so what can be the problem?
---I've cleaned the registry of any creative tracks and what? NOTHING!!!
There has to be something, honestly, so far all I've written in the forums is complaints and problems.

When you restore, Touch ID will not work.
Maybe you backup is not good? Try restore as new:

Dude, Daphy, you have to know something. He says that the touch pad doesnt work "at all". Meaning it wont highlight over anything to select to play or get to the time or anything. Accesing the recovery mode you can do, but the only thing you can access is the first option, which you can easily select, but you cant highlight yes because the TOUCH PAD DOESN"T WORK!!!!! Some of these administrators have to know the same thing im telling you. And i suggest that the person with the problem with their player should return it for a new one and sell the new one for money to buy like a Rio or ipod. Cuz the same problem is going to happen with the new Zen Touch. Beli've me, it happened twice to me and im gonna get an ipod photo to p-o the creative people.

I can no longer scroll with the button on my touch pad. Have tried everything on Firefox help and still can't scroll....HELP please.

I have just updated to the Firefox 4 Beta and from having no problems at all with the previous version I can now no longer scroll. I have reloaded my touch pad drivers and also been onto "about:config" and altered various things suggested by 'firefox help' and still no luck. The scroll button on the touch pad does still work as I can still scroll in Thunderbird and any of the other programs that I use, just not with Firefox any longer. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Many thanks.

Since today the scrolling started to work for me. Was there a fix auto installed? I havent updated anything that I know about.

Hi, As you can see from earlier I had the same problem. Caused by trying to upgrade to download the free book from the Times. There is a message and reply on about page 3/4 called "Zen Touch - Firmware". The advice in there pointed to the Devi've Driver in there I enabled my Zen and rebooted PC. I then downloaded 2 upgrade files from NOMAD and it now works. I can't remember the exact sequence of events as it seemed a bit of trial and error but I got there. GOOD LUCK

Turn on AssistiveTouch: Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > AssistiveTouch. To set Triple-click Home to turn AssistiveTouch on or off, go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Triple-click Home.
Try the triple-click Home button. If necessary, use three fingers to scroll to turn AT off.

How can I hook up Zen Touch to my reciev

I have a Yahama reciever and want to hook up my Zen Touch. I have a Y cable with RCA leads?(red and white)?when I hook up to the stereo I only get music out of one speaker or mono. It does not matter which port I use the results are always the same. Do I need a special Y cable? The one I bought was?a generic brand.

You are doing exactly what I do with my Zen Touch and a Pioneer stereo... I have no problems (using one of the Aux inputs). Is the cable possibly faulty? You can check the ground (common), left, and right leads with an ohmeter. If you don't have access to an ohmeter, a flashlight bulb, a battery and a piece of wire or two will allow you to check as well. Look for both an open line (one of the "hot" leads) or a short between the Left and Right leads.
Make sure that the input you are using on the stereo as well as the outputs (I know... a "duuh" moment but I have to say it) is selected as "Stereo" and not "Mono".

Okay, so if I hear you correctly, I should download the Zen Touch Media Explorer to my computer at work and use it that way. I followed your advice on my home computer and sure enough, I can hear the music. :smileyvery-happy:
Only I can't seem to see what's playing. And I'm not sure how to control the player (for playback functions, ie shuffle, repeat, rewind, skip, etc.). :smileysurprised:

The Zen Touch doesn't have a radio built-in. You'd need this:
