Zen touch - software for finding duplicates in libr

After buying my player and putting 800 tracks on there so far I have found that I have a lot of duplicates of songs. Some are ones I want (album version v li've version of songs) but sometimes I have exactly the same recording a few times. I mean who wants 4 versions of Dead Ringer for Love? (some people don't want <EM>one</EM> version of that!). I suppose this has mainly happened due to loading compilations on the player but now I need to find some effecti've software to help me find duplicates.
I can use Mediasource and just sort by the song title and then manually check for the duplicates but I was hoping someone can advise a better way.

Itunes is the worst prog ever!.. I used it to transfer some songs to my dad`s ipod, but it took so long time. Snd to just import music to the the library took 9 hours!!!! And you cant even drag and drop music files.
And a friend of mine who got the ipod mini bought the redchair software. because itunes was so terrible.

Hi Folks,?A bit of a naf question, I want to connect my Creative Zen Touch to a Bose Life Style System, To provide the best quality Audio connection can you advise what is the best cable for me to use. On a seperate note has anyone any comments on the Cambridge SoundWorks Dock Station, I would like something to connect the Zen Touch to for the kitchen, the cambridge sounddock id a bit of an ugly beast. Is there anything a little easier on the eye but with the same excellent audio quality. Thanks in advance for any help?Earlsie

Touchpad of the Zen Touch doesn´t react anymore..

Hey all,
I got my old Zen Touch(20GB) for maybe more than 2 years and it was my best friend at all the time,never had any problems with it...
But suddenly(yesterday) the touchpad is broken...
Nothing happend... hasn?t fall to the ground or damaged...
Just after i started it the last time the touchpad doesn?t react....
What can i do,can somebody help me?

In Firefox 4 and later you no longer have the Status bar that showed the padlock in previous Firefox versions.<br />
The padlock only shows that there is a secure connection and doesn't guarantee that you are connected to the right server.<br />
So you might still be connected to the wrong server if you make a typo in the URL and someone has claimed that mistyped URL.<br />
The functionality of the padlock has been replaced by the [[Site Identity Button]] on the left end of the location bar.

I just bought the Zen Touch, I love it. I cant figure out thow to use the software it came with called Creative Media Source so I can been using Windows Medis Player 0 instead. How do I name files? How do I transfer songs from the Creative Media Source software to my Zen Touch?, for some reason it is not clear
Also If I am ripping from a Cd I burned myself How do I get the song titles on the Zen Player, put them in by hand?Thank you!

If you have the driver installed on your PC, WMP0 should recognize your Zen Touch as a device (you can see this in the "sync" tab). I would suggest having the Zen Touch connected to AC power when you have it connected to the PC because otherwise the battery drains rather quickly.
When you insert a CD, the tracks will show up on the "RIP" tab of WMP0. You can edit the track information to your liking and then click on the "Rip Music" button on the upper right. You can also edit the track information after a CD is ripped - you do this by going to the "Library" tab and then right click on the track you want to edit and select "Advanced Tag Editor" on the pop up menu. Also from the main menu of WMP0 you can select "Tools" --> "options." Here go to the "Rip Music" tab to select how you want your music ripped (bitrate, format mp3 or WMA, etc.). While you are at it, check out the other tabs, particulary the "library" tab for the options you want.
Steps to transfer songs: . Go to the library tab. 2. on the "Library Options" button drop down, make sure "Show List" is checked - this will display a panel on the right hand side. 3. On this new panel on the right, there is a drop down at the top where you select "sync list" (default is "Now Playing List"). 4. Now drag and drop the songs/albums you want from the library to the "sync list" panel (you can also clear the list by selecting "clear list" from the button drop down at the top of this panel). 5. Click the "start sync" button at the bottom right. 6. You can see the progress in the "sync" tab. 7. Once the sync is done, you can see what is on the Zen Touch by browsing on the right hand panel of the "sync" tab.
Final note: I do not recommend using the automated sync from WMP0. This is meant for MTP/PlaysForSure enable devices so won't work (well) with the Touch.

I have had a Zen Touch 20MB for a year which I think is fantastic and has run 00% with no problems whatsoever. I have now run our of space and want to upgrade. I'd appreciate your views on whether the Zen Touch 40MB or the Creative NOMAD Jukebox Zen Xtra 40GB would be a better choice.

ANYWAY, to the subject in hand. I had a 20gb Touch and sold it for ?00 to finance buying a 40gb Touch. I have had that for a year and still have 0GB left but I will be going to a 60gb Zen Vision M as soon as it comes out as my next upgrade.
To be honest I would recommend you to go to the Zen Vision M straight away without going to the 40gb touch first. The Vision M will give you the extra capacity, and all the good qualities of the touch in sound quality and all that, but you will gain the colour screen and the video capabilities the Vision M has.
I suppose the 30GB will give you more capacity than you have now but you can future proof yourself with the 60gb and I hear they are planning an 80gb as well. No news on a release date but i hope it would be this year.

Attention Creative Zen Touch Own

There is a E-bay store selling Zen Touch Remotes for only 29.99 plus 4.99 shipping and handling. http://stores.ebay.com/Dex-Electronics. They claim they are factory new and sealed. For 34 plus change I had to try them out.

Clearly, this is not true.
Despite seeing everywhere that "firmware available via USB from creative.com" the Creative Sleek Photo has no firmware that is available online anywhere and when you ask, everyone from customer support talks to you as if you have 5 heads for even suggesting that it should be available like anything else is.
This IS ridiculous and I too, have no more interest in Creative products despite purchasing my last 2 MP3 players from this brand, I'm done with this mess. It's frustrating beyond belief that a simple fix turns into a huge fiasco all because the company has no real rhyme or reason for failing to offer any support for a product, instead forcing you to send said product in the mail to take weeks for something that otherwise take a few minutes.
Truly absurd.

Creative Zen Touch Vista Iss

Hi,
I've had my Zen Touch now for about year. I had a fairly bog standard pc with Windows XP as the OS. At the end of January this year I got a brand new pc with Windows Vista. Ever since then I cannot use the Creative media program that came with my MP3 player and now just recently I can't get it to recognize that my player is plugged into my PC. It makes a funny little noise like its saying 'NO' when I plug the mp3 into my USB.
Is there a big problem with Creative Zen's and Vista? I also cant find anything online regarding this and send a couple of emails to Creative's technical support without reply.
If anyone needs more information then I'll gladly reply.

Hi,?unfortunately there is an obvious problem with the sync manager from creative and vista. You can synchronize using winamp. Creative media organizer does not recognize the mp3 player, but winamp works as good as the software from creative. you can use the xp driver for the player (I mean there is no other choice)?best?

I have been using the .0.03 firmware, but recently I read http://forums.creative.com/t5/MP3-Players/Zen-Touch-Custom-EQ-Frequencies-Wrong/m-p/64205" and wanted to try out the .00.06 firmware. Comparing from memory and using custom EQ, lows and mids sound much more clear now while bass is a bit more on the light side.

Hello,?I like to share this information about my troubles with updating my Zen Touch. At first my Media Player would not detect my Zen Touch. As I hoped the update of the firmware would solve my problem I started a firmware update. Unfortunatly it went wrong as a result the Zen unit did not boot anymore an gave a "Firmware problem". Due to this problem I could not reinstall the firmware as Windows XP did not detect my Zen. I was ready to trow the unit out of the window when I found this solution. And it really worked for me. I had the same problem. You don't have to call Creative. You don't have to spend any money. Here's how I fixed it:
1. If you have Windows Media Player uninstall it and reboot
2. Uninstall the WMP Runtime format from add/remove programs ( you may have to check the "show updates" box) and reboot
3. With the Zen Touch connected, go to Device Manager and uninstall it and then unplug the USB cable.
4. Uninstall ALL Creative software including the Zen drivers and then Reboot
5. From Device Manager, uninstall ALL USB root hubs and reboot
6. Plug in the Zen and wait for windows to detect it. In my case windows showed it as "Creative Zen" and then changed it to "MTP Device."
7. Run the firmware update again. It should go ahead and update now.
You can reinstall WMP if you want after this. Be sure to get the latest version from microsoft's website.

Is it possible Creative pulled the Zen Touch Wired FM Remotes for a redesig

I was thinking of purchasing one of these wired remotes for my Zen Touch...but can't find them anywhere...anywhere here on creatives site and anywhere else online...all say out of stock...would make sense and all since it is Xmas coming up...but after reading all the reviews on this unit and how expensi've it is and how it breaks after a certain amount of months...perhaps creative is pulling them for redesign or something?
would love to buy one...but...can't find one...yet everyone says this thing is crap!

Develop software for connecting to creative zen touch and other devices not recognized by wind

as a programmer i wonder, is it possible to obtain information of how to connect to usb-connected creative device (which is not recognized automatically by windows, as the zen touch) and how to communicate with it's is there any documentation about that available to "non-creative" ;-) developers?
the idea is to create a plugin (e.g. for musikcube) that enables the programm to access the files on the device.
i know there are third party companies that do provide software for connecting to e.g. zen touch, but i do not think that they have figured out every little bit by themselves, have they?

Try this:
Download <a href='http://www.delldjsite.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=444' target=_blank>this[/url] file. Extract it to whatever folder you like. Inside that folder run the file fixup.cmd. A DOS window will open up and start display messages on what its doing, when its done it will instruct you to remove the device from Device Manager and reconnect it.
Try this and see if it works.
