Zen touch from firmware 2.11.1.0 back to 1.1.3.0 or earl

Hi,?Does anyone know how to revert back to firmware ..3.0 or earlier for the zen touch 20gb? I just installed 2...0 and I really dislike the sound quality. I know the website says this is not possible. Please tell me this is not true!?Thanks for your time?btw Be warned, unless you really?need to, think twice before installing. I don't know if other people have suffered a big loss in sound quality after installing new firmware, would be great to know if you did.

There are alternative ways of how you can recompile or recreate on least if you are unable to compile the object.
1. Run compile apps schema from add one
2. compile using utlrp script ( u have tried this)
3. compile using adcompsc.sql script located at $AD_TOP/sql
4. If none of this work you may recreate the object using *.pls or *.plb file located at OS level, you may find which binary file with the help of user_objects dictionary (otherwise simply use toad or third party softwares to identify and recreate them)

PLEASE, PLEASE HELP: Big problems with my Zen Touch. (Firmware/driver issu

So here's the deal:
Last night I thought I'd finally take the time to upgrade my Zen Touch to 2. from .3 or something like that. I noticed that there was a warning saying that this was no small upgrade, and that I should back up everything I have on it.
I'm glad I did, because now my MP3 player situation is seriously screwed up, big time. During the upgrade process, my computer froze, leaving my Zen Touch without firmware (ok, so firmware version 0.0.0). Upon turning the device on, it boots up in recovery mode. This allows me to either format, clean up, or "reupload" firmware. I've tried all of these options, but the fact is clear that my computer simply will no longer recognize my MP3 player.
It does, however, recognize it at as a generic storage device. However, this isn't enough for me to reinstall the player's firmware unfortunately.
So basically, I can't update driver or firmware right now, because my computer won't acknowlege my Zen Touch!
Somebody please, please help.

I now finally have firmware 2. installed on my Zen Touch! Yeah! I'm not entirely sure how I did it, and I'm not bothering to find out, I'm just glad I finally got it on there.
But some problems still remain. After all this fiddling with my driver and firmware and whatnot, my computer just doesn't see my MP3 the same way as it used to. Before, it was great, all I had to do was plug her in and I could bring up Zen Explorer in Windows Explorer, or organize my stuff in Creative MediaSource.
Now that's not the case. The only way I can sort of add stuff to my player now is by going into Windows Explorer, which is still more or less acknowleging my player as a "portable device". Granted, there is a dri've called "My Zen", but it doesn't bring up Zen Explorer like it used to when I click on it. Furthermore, when I go into MediaSource, I can't select it as a location, there just isn't anything there.
It almost seems as if my computer thinks I'm just using a portable hard dri've. Is there anyway I can tell it that it's an MP3 player, too?

Zen Touch Problem (firmware crash?) HEEEELP! (plea

i just got my zen touch yesterday when i got home from college. so i charge it up after opening anxiously. anyway, i install it and everything and then decided to install the latest firmware. well for some reason the firmware decided to freeze so i closed it since the screen on the touch was blank ( i think the firmware prog. said it was restarting but it hadnt for at least 0 mins) i tried to reset it and everything but nothing, now i cant turn it on or off, the power light comes on but the screen is blank and it wont go into recovery mode either. this morning the light finally went out but i think its just a case of the battery dying because i tried to turn it on and it didnt come on, and when i plugged it in the power light came on and thats it, any solutions?

i had the exact same problem,
i fixed mine, by using a pc that i had NEVER used my device on, it was fully patched (windows update) and had SP2/WMP0.
i then installed those 3 things, in the order they were presented, and finally plugged in my device, it was recognisesd by the upgrade program, it then warned me i was replacing a v2 firmware with teh same version, i said okay, and procedded to upgrade.
it seems, that for some reason, pcs where you used the device prior to the upgrade, dont seem to recognise the device, once its become MTP (or partially MTP when ur upgrade fails).
i found this was the only way to get it working, a fresh pc without the drivers or anything, just XP SP2, windows medial player 0 and then install those 3 things.

Zen Touch latest Firmware Update...player not connec

I tried installing the latest Firmware update for my Zen Touch (released 2-09).
The player is connected and recognized by Windows and the Media Explorer. However, when I try to install the new Firmware it keeps saying "player not connected".
I tried d/l two different language packages cause I wasn't sure what counted - player language or operating system langauge. Anyway, that didn't make a difference.
So what do I do? I have no idea where to start. It's firmware for the correct device connected through Windows XP.
I have made a firmware update before, which worked fine. After that I updated the media explorer software.
Help is very much appreciated! Thank you in advance.

Perhaps it's worth making sure no software is using the player, so reboot the PC, and turn off the Creative Detector. Then try again.
Are you trying to upgrade to the .0.03 version?

Zen Touch + New Firmware + 36

Playback Music from Guide button. It also plays the music from the 'Media Blade'. What it doesnt do is show the device acti've for the picture section in the 'Media Blade'. Is anyone else getting this ? Is there are a fix for this? What am i doing wrong?Thnx in advance.

Hi there people, i'm really interested in getting the creative zen touch 20 GB mp3 player. My only concern is that the product will be coming from Australia. Since I'm living in the UK, I'm not so sure if Creative UK would honor my warranty claim if necessary.
Does any of you guys have a similar situation as me? The seller is a legitimate one and they will send me a tax invoice and receipt.

Yes, your warranty will apply, but for the same period as it would in Australia, so the warranty period from the country of purchase applies, not from the country you'll be living in.

i have to have windows xp for the touch with firmware (PlaysForSure or w/e)? Is it sum special xp (im hearing sum sp or sp2 thing, i duno what that is) or just any type of windows xp and im fine?

It has to be WindowsXP, and has to be SP or higher. SP stands for Service Packs. You can download the Service Packs for your Operating System on Microsoft's website. So even if you haven't installed a Service Pack before, or it wasn't installed on your PC when you got it, you should be able to download the update and install it.

Help me - Zen Touch from a zen usb 2 - Is it worth

I have a 60gb usb2 mp3 zen player. The battery and general condition of the unit is beginning to show its age.
4 Questions....
) What functionality would I be losing/gaining from switching players.
2) Is the archos 80gb or iri'ver h340 in your opinion better players?
3) Will it definately be napster to go compatible.
4) What are everyones positi'ves/negati'ves about this player?
I would appreciate anyones help to these questions as I am on the verge of going to Dixons tomorrow to purchase the 40gb model.

nparrett: I'd be surprised if the battery has problems as they should last around 3 years before peak performance drops off.
I'll leave the comparison with the Touch to the other reply. Not sure about the Archos player but the iRi'ver gets good reviews and is certainly feature packed. You'll have to look at the detail to see if it's a better player for you. Napster to Go support is coming for the Touch.

How do I flash downgrade Zen Xtra from Firmware 2_10_03 to 1_20_0

I have 2 Zen Xtra's (60GB).
One has Firmware _20_08, and the other has 2_0_03
I want to flash the one with 2_0_03 down to _20_08, and have used the 'Reload OS' facility, but when I try and flash to _20_08, it does not recognise the player. It does with 2_0_03 though.
Please can someone let me know if this is possible, as I really want to keep both players with the same firmware (_20_08).

The PFS firmware allows your player to be seen as an MTP device which in turn allows it to be seen as a dri've in Windows. This is very similar to how the flash-based players are seen, such as my N200, and they only ever show files in alphabetical order.
Thinking back to when I upgraded the hard dri've in my JukeBox , the first thing I had to do with a new dri've was load the firmware. If you got your dri've into an "as new" condition (by formatting it on a PC?) then would you be able to load the earlier firmware onto it's

i have upgraded my firmware on my zen touch 40 gb to Creative Zen Touch PlaysForSure Firmware 2..0. i am not sattisfied with that. it really sucks. i know that there is a firmware that enable mp3 player to connect it via usb and see it in USB Mass Storage mode that i can acess it without nomad expolrer etc.
Now i can not nstall plays for crap software to see an dmanage my data & mp3.
This is the worst thing i have ever had with creatice.
i just want to downgrade my firmware that i can use it without nomad explorer etc.

I too have a simular problems! Managing music is the biggest problem with over 0 Gigs. Some artists songs sometimes change name titles, artists,?and etc. Win Explorer is most used by me now. Yes, I do lose sync from time to time! Especially when I open two windows on the portable zen. There are two tools that need. . Playlist management - it takes too long to do it on the player. I want to create "Gym Vibes" and had it on my old creative?Nomad player, but couldn't transfer. "Creative Sync Manager" doesn't do it!?Without all that sync stuff how can I create and edit creative's playlist on a PC?2. A method for detecting dupicates?This is my second creative portable and if I don't get the tools I won't buy another!

Zen Touch: Device to PC transfer er

I recently formatted my harddri've and want to put all my music back on my PC before I upgrade my Zen Touch's firmware as to not lose all my music and have to go through the whole process again.
BUT....when I select all of my songs in Media Source and press the 'right' arrow to transfer to the correct folder, I run into a slight problem. A few songs will transfer, but then I will get errors the rest of the process. I've updated firmware/app/driver as far as I can before it erases data. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I cannot find a solution to this. Is this just an isolated problem? Or, are there ways around this?

Creative Zen Touch connection prob

Hi, I've had my zen for a few months and it's great. But I reformatted my computer last week, and I've been trying to load music on to my zen. I can install the software just fine, restart, ready to go, but I connect my zen to the computer via the usb cable, and my computer becomes very choppy, I can't access Task Messenger, and I have to reboot every time.
Has anyon else had this problem? Or am I doing something stupid and not realizing it's

Alright, I went through and installed every update for my Zen Touch from that website. Drivers and software all updated fine, went to update my firmware, after restarting, plugged in the Zen, Same thing happened. Computer started chugging along as if something was eating the cpu. Well, I managed to get the Task Manager open before the slowdown began, and a process called winlogon, which I'm assuming is part of windows, as it's always been in task manager, was using 99% cpu. Now, I've NEVER seen this program do anything, let alone eat every ounce of my processors power.
Does anyone knoww hat is going on here? I'm going to call tech support tomorrow and see if they can help me, but I"m not sure how much good that will do.

Are you sure? This definitely doesn't happen to my zen touch. When I plug it in to the mains charger, it just switches on very briefly, with only the backlight coming on with a blank screen and music playing for around to 2 seconds. After this it seems to switch itself off and the charging battery sign shows up on the top left corner of the screen with the blue LED on the power button flashing periodically.
Are you sure the zen is switched off completely, before you plug it in? Can't you switch it off whilst charging? Otherwise you may have a defecti've unit or something wrong with the built in charger. In any case if music is playing while the zen touch is charging, the zen should continue charging and not run out power as quickly as it charging. The mains charger provides enough power to charge and play music simultaneously. Although I think the USB charger can't do this, it can only charge the player, which is why you should also attach the mains charger whilst transferring music to the zen.

Here's the story. I got a Zen Touch from my parents for Christmas, and I was thrilled. I put on about 9 GB of music in the first few weeks. Then, poof, it freezes my computer when I try to connect to it. It was working fine the day before, and nothing special had happened, and I most certainly did not mistreat it. So I thought fine, I'll just try to figure it out later. Then, lo and behold, a few weeks after, it begins freezing. Every few minutes, it froze. Now, it freezes every few seconds. Firstly, a big thanks to Creative for spitting in my face. Secondly, my question now is: If I mail my Zen Touch to Creative, will they delete all the data on it, because I don't have a backup copy. If anyone could tell me from experience that this will not happen I'd be delighted, because there's over 2500 mp3's on it and they're rather important to me. Thankns.

I'm not surprised, darkone. We have an affinity for those who are like us. Additionally, the fact that they've sold millions of players is irrelevant. Have you ever heard of the medecine that many pregnant women took a few decades ago to relieve pain during pregancy, and then their babies were deformed or mentally handicapped? The number of units sold is not important. A million mothers took the drug, a million mothers had deformed babies.

Zen touch isnt working at all *NEED HELP

Today, i went to unplug my zen touch from charging to download some songs to it. Once i got it to my computer i noticed the power light was on, but the screen was blank, no picture, light, no anything. This player is only about a month old(i got it for christmas). I haven't dropped any water on it(had a bad experience with my zen xtra to do it again). The only thing i see that could have done this was over charging. I have it cahrge when i dont use it, which lately has been 2-3 days at a time, but can the battery over charge? And if thats not the problem, what could it be?

ok, i tried doing what the poster above said, but nothing. i got the player from amazon.com so i dont really want to have to ship it back to them or ship it to creative. has anyone else had this problem or know of a way i can get the battery replaced?
