Zen Touch - Wont p

I just gat my zen touch in today and i tried to put some songs on it with mediasource but after i try to play them the player says that it cant play it. My file type was wma and i tried to convert to mp3 but the conversion wouldnt work. I would appreciate any help.Message Edited by Faithoflife on 2-2-2004 09:45 PM

Their just files that i ripped from cds in windows media player. Their lossless files and i think thats the problem. I dont mind converting them to mp3 but it doesnt work on mediasource.

Zen Touch wont turn on nor cha

i brought my zen touch 2 days ago, i charged it and once it went dead flat i put it back on charge and now it wont chrage at all or turn on. i tryed charging it thought usb but that wont world either. how suggestions?

Is this the Zen 20GB (looks like a Zen Micro)? If so, the reset button is located underneath the power switch (move it to the left and you will see a small button underneath, this is it). To get into rescue mode, hold the switch to the left and the press the reset button (keep the switch held until you get into the rescue mode screen).

Zen touch wont charge

i just got my 20gb zen touch last night for christmas and it wont charge! theres a little light on the charger that i would think needs to light up to show the charger is working .. it doesnt light up .. is my brand new charger broken?

I take it you are trying to charge from the A/C adapter? The easiest way to determine whether the problem is with the adapter or the player is to try charging your player via USB. In order to do this, connect your Touch to the computer via USB. The player will automatically turn on, so turn it back off (it won't charge via USB if the player is turned on). Also, your computer should be on. If it charges, than the problem is with the A/C adapter. If it doesn't charge, the problem is most likely with the player itself.
Charging is indicated by a lightning bolt on the battery-level symbol.

Zen Touch wont load firmw

I'm in recovery mode and select "Reload Firmware"
after erasing the old firmware i plug the player in, windows recognises that it has been plugged in (its visible in Device Manager)
i then run ZenTouch_PCFW_L4__0_03-.exe which says that the player is NOT plugged in ?
duh !! where do i go from here

I have found that if I hold the player in my left hand with my right sock rolled down whilst looking at Ibanez guitars on ebay helped me when trying to load the firmware.
Like the whole Zen touch experience it all depends on the Lunar cycle etc.

Zen Touch, Wont recognize conectability to compu

Well usually, when one connects it to the computer, on the screen you see this "docked" picture.
Well I kind of wanted to format/erase my firmware and install the new firmware (I only decided to delete it instead of update it because it was giving me problems.
Now when ever I turn it on, it just says "firmware problem" and goes to the recovery screen. None of those options really do anything for me, and I cant upgrade the firmware because it doesnt realize it is connected to the pc, and the updater cant find the Zen Touch that is connected.
Somebody please help. I really would like to get this working again.

You are not the only one with this problem. It appeared to me last friday. I think it is related to some windows update. See the latest posts in the **Creative Zen Touch PlaysForSure Firmware 2.0.05 (2.46 MB)** thread.
I got mine working after the same way you did, using a PC that has not being updated a long ago, that has Windows XP sp2 and Windows Media Player 0. I used the 2.0.05 firmware file and it is now playing.

Hi, i searched the forum but theres a lot to look through and i couldnt see a problem like mine, but if this has already been mentioned then if someone could link me that would be great.
Basicly I own a Creative Zen Touch MP3 player and its been working well until today when for some reason, when adding songs to a playlist in Creative Jukebox i got a message saying it could not add the songs. I shutdown the programme, restarted it and the same happened. I shutdown the programme, disconnected the player and got a 'playback' error everytime i tried to play a song. I reset the player but now it just goes to a screen with a picture of a computer screeny box thing and says 'Firmware Problem', i cant shut it down in this state and it isnt detected by the computer so i cant install any new firmware or drivers etc. Im not sure what firmware version i have (how do i find out) but if it helps i bought the player on the 22/0/2004 and havent updated anything for it as of yet.
Any help would be really apprieciated. Thanks.

Help my zen touch wont work with my pc anym

Right i've just formatted my pc like 40 mins ago i reinstalled every thing updated every thingl like usual then i pluged my zen in and it came up with the windows install drivers thing but it had the newest firware on it but it still wanted drivers so i came on here got the drivers installed reconnected my player but still it wasnt working i tried a few other mothds of the forums but they still didnt work so i deleted the firmware of my player thinking there could of been a problem there and dowloaded the firmware upgrade app and now windows still ditects it but wont install it still and the firmware app cant find it but u can see it in device manager with the yellow question mark above it i also inserted the original creative cd at the start to see if it would take the drivers of it when the windows install window came up but that doesent work either help i really dont no what to do now thx.
PS: i also i have sp,2 installed and wmp0

Double-click it in Device Manager. What's the "device status"? The yellow ? could be something as simple as "<i>There is a previous version of the driver in memory. Restart Windows.</i>"
The software on the original CD won't help. The MTP firmware (2.x) should work with just WinXP with WMP 0, but there is an updated version of the MediaSource 3 plugin for use with the new firmware.

Zen Touch - wont recognise USB connectio

I upgraded my ZT with the new firmware released 28 October 2005.
I downloaded from the Creative site tonight the new update for the Zen Explorer for Play for Sure, and since then the Zen when plugged into the USB will not dock.
I did a format, and tried to reload the firmware from the rescue menu and now it's dead!
When I plug the USB in all I get is the Recovery Mode menu - how do I reload the firmware when the USB seems dead!!!

Have you look into this Knowledgebase article SID9287 and try the steps mention in it's Also, you may want to try rolling back to WMP0 instead and see if it helps with the detection.

starting has been iffy before but usually if i plug it into the wall after awhile it powers up, now it just lies there doing nothing. gave it a full charge before the weekend but it wont work nowany ideas greatfully accepted,cheers

It took me a while to get this solution right. When I uninstalled WMP, make sure your new/current version of Windows Media Player is 0. Download it from the microsoft website if you need it. It took me 2 hours to figure out I had rolled back to WMP 9, but you need 0.

Zen Touch wont conn

The Zen has the docked sign but when i load up creative mediasource it gives me some error when trying to get library information and freezes. If i go into 'my computer', it does not recognise zen is connected.
I am mystified why it keeps freezing, and if anyone could offer any help I'd be really grateful. thanks

Zen touch wont turn

My any more. When i press the on button the light comes on then goes off. Connecting it to the pc & charging it have no effect. I've tried formatting and reseting but to no avail. Any help?

Jamus: Try connecting it to the mains adapter and resetting, and try resetting several times as well e.g. 0-20.
Chances are that the player is toast unfortunately, but if anything will revi've it this should.

Creative Zen Touch 20 GB wont switch

After my mp3 player got stucked for some reason i waited till it was empty. Now i m charging it again, but it wont switch on anymore. I havent done anything strange with this mp3 player. I just have it for 5 days now. Only mistake i might have made is charging it while connecting it to the computer. But there isnt anything in the manual about this, so I cant blame myself for doing that.
What is the problem with this mp3 player, I just have it and it doesnt switch on anymore! I love the product, but i m really a bit in dispare now...

Not so normal, but nothing terrible to worry about. Basically the player things for some reason the library may be corrupt so schedules the library rebuild. As long as it doesn't happen frequently there's nothing to worry about.

CREATIVE ZEN TOUCH - CUSTOMER SERVICE WONT H

CREATIVE, i will never ever buy another product from you again and will encourage all others not to buy from you because of your poor customer service. My problem is not with the product as such, i own a Creative Zen Touch and until about?6 weeks ago everything was going fine, when i formatted my harddri've. It was then i relised i had misplaced my Zen Touch software CD, so as you'd expect the first place to look would be this website.. off i go looking around the store and customer support, i even sent an email.. to be fair i did receive an automated response about tunring off the Zen and trying again (useless when i need a software cd howevere), so i waited a while (a week) to see if they'd reply - which they didn't. So, i then sent another which ended with the same result., and then again with the same results. Just now i finally called customer support (paying intl call-rates) and all i got was an automated response telling me to log onto the customer-support page on the website. ARGHH!!?Basically if anyone, ANYONE can please please tell me where i can get the Creative Zen Touch software CD it would very very very very very appreciated as i go on holiday in two weeks and i don't really want to fork out more cash on an I-Pod or I-Pod alternati've (never again will i buy Creative). Clearly, this is not true.
Despite seeing everywhere that "firmware available via USB from creative.com" the Creative Sleek Photo has no firmware that is available online anywhere and when you ask, everyone from customer support talks to you as if you have 5 heads for even suggesting that it should be available like anything else is.
This IS ridiculous and I too, have no more interest in Creative products despite purchasing my last 2 MP3 players from this brand, I'm done with this mess. It's frustrating beyond belief that a simple fix turns into a huge fiasco all because the company has no real rhyme or reason for failing to offer any support for a product, instead forcing you to send said product in the mail to take weeks for something that otherwise take a few minutes.
Truly absurd.

1st MP3 player, a Zen Touch and it wont

I just received a second hand Zen Touch, my first MP3 player woohoo!! not!!
Day
When the player first arri'ved I plugged it into my PC and I was able to view it as a separate dri've and could see all the files and songs that had been loaded good stuff, cool!!
I installed WMP on my laptop and thought I was off and running ripped a CD and tried to transfer it's hit Sync (wasn t sure I should do that but I assumed that s how to transfer) it says the device is FULL and I know it'ss not. (25.9 GB remaining) so I tried dragging items into the sync list, hitting start sync, and NOW it tells me there is not enough storage space on my computer err!!
Downloaded the manual because obviously I don t know what I m doing no help there just more confusion.

I deleted about 000 songs and had also plugged the player directly into my PC speakers for external sound it worked so I hope I didn t damage it'sbecause the Zen dri've shows up on my PC still, but now empty...WHAT!! But its not all songs are still there and they play, I just can't view the files
Is there maybe a setting or something I may have unknowingly screwed up I really haven't done anything except delete some artists that aren t my cup of tea.
I installed Creative Media Source 5 Organizer from thinking that was the ticket, but still I get a message telling me that there is no Creative MP3 player connected.
The seller supplied a burned CD with the driver version .0.0.0 so
I reinstalled it'sstill nothing
Tried the Firmware, not sure what this is but it was on the disc so what the heck.
(Version ..3.0 and Plays4sure 2...0) but message says the player isn t connected go figure
I followed the article on checking my USB connection still nothing
Then I found this forum and searched it only to find similar problems with no solution .can someone PLEASE HELP a newby to MP3 players

I could recommend a few things, but will not guarantee these are the solutions.
First off make sure that your computer is detecting the MP3 player, either as a device or even a hard dri've.
Second see if there should some sort of folder structure the player recognizes, some players have this annoying functionality, where there might be hidden folders with content (since used device).
This would be my guess, see if you have a virus scanner software that may have inadvertently or through some setting may have recognized or found some content in your MP3 player unsafe and may have quarantined it, surprisingly this does happen.
If none of these seem to help then do the most default solution. Reset the player to its original settings, should be some reset button or format the MP3 player. Unplug the device remove the drivers uninstall the software and then re-install them fresh.
This is what I can think of.

CREATIVE ZEN TOUCH - froz

Hey guys
all of a sudden, my zen touch froze. a screen came up that just said there was a firmware problem. this happens whenever it switches on and once on it wont turn off until it runs out of battery! also the reset button doesn't work. i've tried just connecting it to the computer and trying to update the firmware that i've got off the internet but of course it tells me that the player is not connected!
does anyone have any suggestions?
