Hi, that's me again... http://forums.creative.com/creativel...ssage.id=89277?Since the last time the zen got shipped back from assistance despite it wasn't working as expected (it kept 'freezing' while uploading large amounts of tracks per time) I decided to follow the assistance guy advice: uploading small chunk of data per time?in order to avoid the?rescue -> format procedure all times. Still it wasn't a?rather satysfing answer for a 30 euro brand new mp3 player but, given it takes about one month to have it fixed from lab?and?given that the more and more it seems to me that fixing an issue cause another to promptly emerge?I decided to follow the advice of the small amount of upload per time... But?since then?I?uploaded about 3 Gb of tracks and?adding further tracks proven in the last week end -you know, the days you may wish to take your bycicle for a ride?listening at?your favorite tunes- to be impossible. First I tryed as usual to sync it with media monkey thus adding the few new tracks, but PC stalled and zen did too. Obviously?it meant to?format the zen, since it't so smartly designed that if its special driver doesn't communicate that the session?is over with its very special message?zen it's unable to rebuild the music library properly, hence a?rescue ->?format all procedure is required.
So i did that, and I kept doing?for about 2 times, each time shrinking the amount of tracks to upload:?the problem seems to me happen after a certain amount of?memory?is filled. Perhaps some sectors of the memory are damaged or the firmware is unable to store them properly. This size limit seems to me?set at about 4 Gb, now?I'm?trying to?exactly mark that, to find out?at what?track?the communication beetwen PC -> Zen fails. I wish to know if it is a known issue?or sounds familiar to other users?or if I'm just?this unlucky. Then, if it's a known iddue is there some workaround I can do home?to avoid assistance lab?I have XP pro SP 2. Hi,?Looks like we've been very unlucky!?I'm sending my zen?back to?assistance?on monday, I'm going to stay another month whitout my music... it's ther third time!?Needless to say I'm really done with creative, my next buy will be a Cowon IAudio, it looks?to me very?well built and realible,?and it doesn't need?the messy MTP driver, you know? The one that if something goes wrong while the transfering need you to format everithing.... Cowon is just like an external storage: something goes wrong while uploading? It gonna prompt some message and that's all, no?messy math to ensure the MTP compliance,?one just put the music on and start listening. One doesn't have to stay?three months?with his player sent to assistance, hearing something like "hey, here it looks all fine to us! Your player looks just fine to us!", have it sent back and have it still not working properly, for the third time!!!?ciao?marcello

8GB Zen Microphoto won't char

Hope u can help me!!?My 8GB Zen Microphoto will charge fine when i connect it to my computer, but i've bought a generic wall charger and when i plug it in, the player recognises it and the battery icon will flash that it's charging, but then i come back to it the next day and it's still at the same battery level!?Is it a problem with the mp3 player?What can i do?!!please help!?

com/windows_media_player.htm , download WMP beta , use winrar (explained in the above thread), INSTALL umdf.exe, and VOILA ur zen microphoto or any other MTP players will be detected straight after u restart WMP just like mine..

Creative Zen Microphoto 8GB hangs

Hello,
I have seen a lot of posts on the same subject here, but have not seen any resolution yet.
I am sure the story sounds familiar... hangs at "Creative" logo, I go into recovery mode, and run scan disk or format etc... They don't work. I have even left the player on "formatting" overnight until the battery drains and it never finishes, same goes for "Scanning".
I am on my 4th player now and am having the same issue again. This time the player is now out of warranty so I can't return it, and I am not paying money out of my own pocket to get this thing fixed. Please don't tell me this product is defecti've... I don't buy that excuse. And it isn't a corrupt file, because a reformat would fix that.
Once it hangs, my computer won't recognize it, so I can't even try to update the firmware or anything.
Any new updates or information on this issue? It is obviously a well documented problem...just google "Creative zen freezes" and see how any hits you get!
I am pretty disappointed with this player. I should have followed my gut instinct in the first place, and just bought an iPod. I spent a lot of money on this paper weight. Any help,advice,prayers,or donation$ (for a new iPod) would ge greatly appreciated!

Right you will need to download the latest firmware from this site.
Here is a hyperlink to where you can download the firmware:

You might have to put some details in.
Once you have downloaded the latest firmware just start the program up.
Plug in your Zen into the PC and then press the "Reload Firmware" button on your Zen.
You should see your computer screen pick it up.
Then you click on your PC to install firmware.
That should be it.

ZEN MX 8GB: E-book, RSS options only in Chinese, not English

Just as the title says, on my ZEN MX 8GB, there are menu options for "e-books" and "RSS feed reader" that appear only when the player's language is set to Chinese. My firmware is up to date, so I know that's not the issue.
Placing text or HTML documents or e-books in the "EBOOKS" directory on the dri've allows them to be viewed, but only if the option is accessible, which is only true when the language is Chinese. The RSS feed reader works similarly, and feeds can be synchronised when the player is docked by running the "RSS Feed Synchronizer" application on the dri've.
How I can enable these options when the language is set to my nati've English? Has anyone else encountered this on this or any other player?

On the Main Menu of the player go to Memory Card >Removable Disk & connect the player to the computer It will showup as a removable dri've with a dri've letter. You can then load it as you do a usb thumb drive & can drag & drop files on it. When done use the safely remove hardware to disconnect it.

Creative Zen MX 8gb?

CFirst of all sorry for posting this in this section but i didn't know where i should post it.
Well i resently updated my Zen MX 8gb but when i plug it into my laptob(i have windows 7) the memory that my zen was having was 50 mb.
I don't know how to fix it and gain back my 8gb
I have already tryed reseting it and format it from my laptob...
Does anyone know how to fix my problem:S

Zen Mozaic 8GB - Clock not working prope

I have a Zen Mozaic 8GB with the lastest firmware on board. I have notices that the clock appears to reset itself. This once so far, but used to be a regular problem for my Zen Microphoto 8GB.
Is anyone aware of a fix for this clock problem?

Did you download the right plugin for MediaSource? What firmware version are you using?
If you're using the v.xx PDE firmware, make sure you have downloaded and installed the following:
. Creative Zen and Jukebox Driver Upgrade version .30.03
2. Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2
3. Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox plugin 2.00.20 for Creative MediaSource
4. Creative Zen Micro Media Explorer Web Update
Install , then connect the player to the PC. Then install 2, 3 and 4 (the player must be connected for 2 to verify you have a Creative product).

I need help , 8GB ZEN has 'Firmware Problem' mess

Hi there I'm from Singapore & I bought a 8GB ZEN from West Mall's Harvey Norman last Oct .
Eariler on , I realised that my ZEN has a 'Firmware Problem' message displayed on the screen . I try as might to reset the player countless times but no matter what , the message still appears & to make things worst I tried to call the customer/techincal support hotlines but they're closed for the day :S
I don't know what happened , it was still working fine this morning when I brought it to Uni . Does anyone know how to solve this problem ?

If you get the firmware error, you can go into the Recovery mode by holding down the Play/Pause button while turning on the unit. Then do a 'Reload Firmware'. This will clear the firmware. Download and run the Firmware update from the Creative website for the Zen. This should reaload the firmware with the latest version.
If that fails, just bring the Zen and the receipt down to the Creative service centre and they will take care of it.

Can I use the 3.7V Li-ion Polymer Battery 680mAh in my 8gb Zen Microphoto? The 8gb came with a 3.7V Lithium Ion Battery 830mAh.

The mAh is a measure of a battery's total capacity. The higher the number (ex. 600 mAh, ,500 mAh) the more charge the battery can hold and usually, the longer a battery will last under a certain load. If you're going to use a lower mAh battery, you will get shorter playback time.

Zen Vison M 30GB won't s

Hey everyone I got a problem with my player. It does not seem to sync with my computer. I tried uninstalling drivers and reinstalling them however that did not work. Every time I plug in the player I get a message that states windows could not recognize the USB device. The player wont show up on the device manager or on other computers. I figure I might have to wipe the player clean, but I have no idea how to go about doing that. Creative support refuses to help because the player is a little over a year old. Any feedback would be appreciated.

The average life of the internal battery is about 3yrs.from date of manufacturing.other than not charging? does the player work as it should?Does the charging icon show?

8GB Zen V Pl

Hey. I have the 2GB Zen V, and for my first mp3 player, it's more amazing than anything else i could've gotten. I've have a few freezes, but none since i upgraded to the latest firmware. I just had a question about the newest one, the 8GB Zen V Plus. I see that it's only available in Singapore right now, but will it ever come out anywhere else, such as Canada? I did see it on the Australian site, but it's been pulled off. And if it's not being released anywhere else, is there any way I can purchase it and have it sent here through?other means than the company directly? I just want to know if there's any way to upgrade from my 2GB in the future.

well i remember before the Zen v was released in the U.S. there were a bunch of Zen Vs from Singapore that were on sale on eBay, i haven't seen any 8gb versions on eBay yet, but eBay is pretty much the best bet, i haven't come across any Singapore based e-retailers.

Zen and 8gb SDHC C

I have a 8gb ZEN with a 8gb SDHC card. I can see the card within the zen if I go to 'Memory Card' within the zen menu. However, I can not see it via windows explorer to drag and drop films/music on it or I can not see a way of how to copy things onto from within the ZEN either?Please help

That's how it works, unfortunately. If you have the latest firmware you can put the player into card reader mode and access the card but not the player with Windows. If you don't put it in that mode you can only access the player with Windows. With earlier firmwares you have to put the data on the card some other way. Barry?

So i got my 8GB ZEN (complete with white screen bug) yesterday... Finally got it working, but when I select an album, and play the first song it works just fine. If I want to skip to the next song within that album (track 2) it skips around on the album to random tracks. What am I doing wrong??It does this on all the albums I have...

Try going to System > Audio Settings > Play Mode and select Normal.
