• Creative zen vision m: video cable help!!! PLZZ

:smileyindifferent:hi, i reallly need to know how to connect the cable to the tv and the vision m.
i have tried it on many channels but i dont knw they dont work. do u have to
go to a speical place in the mp3 and click sumthin like connect to tv or what?
please if sum knws please help me!! im waitin for a reply.....:smileyindifferent:

The creative cable is not standard. You cannot use standard 3.5mm to 3xRCA AV cables. There are instructions on this forum on how to convert a standard AV cable to one that is compatible with the player.
More information on how the cable is wired is avaliable . Not my image, someone else on the forum created it, found it in this post.
There is an article on .
These are the instructions I followed to make my own cable from a standard AV cable. I can't remember who wrote it (Sorry who ever it is), so I don't pretend to take any of the credit for writing it:
Ok here is step by step (i don't have @ home atm digi photo, so i can't do shots)...
Things u'll need:
* AV cable ( 4pole mini jack -to-> 3 RCA yello', red, white)
* knife/scalpel/isolation removal tool...lighter can be a easiest way to remove isolation (when applied gently)
* isolation tape
terms:
GROUND (shield, minus, negati've) = outer wire in the cables, stronger one
HOT (plus, chnl,etc..) = inner smaler wire, caryin' signal
RCA (phonos, cynch,etc..) = those plugs u can find on most of the audio video equipment
MINI JACK (walkman jack, small banana) = can be mono, stereo or audio/video (4 poles)
It's your choice on what part of cable u want to do rewiring (close to the mini jack or close to the RCA's)
I'll describe here easier way (close to the mini jack):
- cutoff the cable close to the mini jack (leave jack with about 8-0cm of cable)
2 - remove isolation on all three cables from both sides (RCA's n mini jack)
- u should remove isolations (2-3cm) of shield/ground (outer wire) and from hot (inner wire)
- on the mini jack side: leave the RED one cable longer than yellow n white
3 - on the mini jack side: remove ground (outer wire) on YELLOW and WHITE cables and isolate
4 - on the mini jack side: remove isolation on the RED hot (inner wire) a bit longer, this is your new ground for all three RCA's, be careful that ground n hot on RED doesn't contatc so isolate em
5 - on the RCA's side: put/twist all three grounds into one wire
6 - wire RED from the jack side to the GROUND of RCA's side (look @ step 5)...isolate
7 - on the mini jack side wire RED cable's GROUND to the YELLOW's cable HOT on the RCA side, isolate
8 - on the mini jack side wire YELLOW cable's HOT to the RED HOT on the RCA side, isolate
9 - on the mini jack side wire WHITE cable's HOT to the WHITE HOT on the RCA side, isolate
0-isolate everythin' properly
enjoy ;-)

The other problem is the video i downloaded from zencast is not able to be played in V Plus and cannot be converted. It is weird that such service is bundled with a player that cannot play the video.
Anyone have face similar problems? Would like to know how to resolve the video conversion problems.
I've got the same issues... but remember that the ZenCast videos are also there for Zen Visual:M and Zen Visual:W and all that, not just for the Zen V Plus.
I've been able to successfully convert movies from http://www.pocketmovies.net/. But that's about all. Oh and one successful attempt to get RocketBoom on my little device!

• Zen Vision: M - Video Problem

I'm not sure what exactly is the problem with the video, but whenever I upload it, it will only play up 00:08 of 24:0. For some reason, it fails to recognize the other parts of the video, and only shows the video length as 8 seconds. The video works fine when played in Windows Media.
The size of the video is 70 MB, and the data rate is 966 kbs.

I would say maybe the data rate is the problem . I use this program to encode my videos & it has a preset for the Zen that also works well on the Zen VM. http://forums.creative.com/showthread.php?t=527380BTW just because a video plays on the computer does not mean it will play on your device.

• Zen Vision M Video Out to TV problem (with proprietary cable!)

I am the original owner of a 60 GB Zen Vision M that works perfectly. I have purchased the proprietary A/V cable for the unit when I purchased it but never had occasion to use it. I now have a flat panel display on which I should like to display video files. The information screen says it has version .2.02 (I assume that?s firmware.)
Customer support for the product is no longer available. I have set the video out to ?auto NTSC? I have wonderful sound but nothing shows on the screen from the yellow RCA video plug that comes out of the same white cable from Creative. UI have connected it to several different sets, two of which are older tube sets. No luck.
Any help here?
Thanks.

• Editing Tags on the Player (Zen 32 GB) and Probs with cover

Hi there,
My dearly beloved Creative Zen touch just snuffed it and I replaced it with the Creative Zen 32 GB.
I am very, very satisfied with the player over all.
Only the Tag editing really annoys me.
On my Zen touch I could edit the tags after loading the tracks on to the player.
Not only one by one but say, all from one album at once.
Is this even possible with the Zen touch?
I accidentally tagged an audiobook with 7 CDs wrongly.
Do I have to erase it and load it on the player again?
That would be sooo uncomfortable.
Thanks for your help.
Oh and what do I have to do, to have the pictures of the albums shown on the zen?
I mean, how are these pictures attached to the tracks of an album?

I saw the suggestion earlier in this post to use the tag editing tool within zen media explorer but can't seem to find that on the software I have?
The "Zen Media Explorer" is the MTP device plugin for Windows Explorer. It creates a volume named "Zen Media Explorer" in the list of dri'ves/volumes that appear under "My Computer" or in a top-level explorer window. Since the flash Zen is MTP (not MSC a.k.a. UMS) it doesn't have an assigned dri've letter. It comes as part of the general "software pack" Creative includes with the Zen to handle management, video and image file conversion, etc. You can also grab the latest version/update from the (Support | Downloads | Zen) web page. You may need to use the controls in the bottom-left of the page (scroll all the way down) to filter the list for your particular OS.
The Zen Media Explorer will present a hierarchical list of files on the Zen. When you navigate to a song track, select the song track and bring up the context menu (right mouse button menu) there will be an "Edit Track Properties..." menu item. This displays a dialog box that lets you modify the core ID3 tags the Zen wants to properly organize the internal library (namely Title, Genre, Album, Artist, Track No. and Year). Only those tags can be edited at present. You can't assign/modify Album Artwork this way.

• Update For Zen V Plus Video Conver

Is there an update for Creative Video Coverter for my Zen V Plus? I got way to many problems with this converter. It wont let me choose the quality settings, its always set on "Good Quality" 2. When I convert a 3mb video it comes out to 79mb. Please I need a better Video Converter for my Zen V Plus. Its says the player supported avi, xvid, divx, any other codecs when I bought it online now I find out it only supports some format called DIB. What is that? Can download this codec anywhere?PLEASE FIX THIS COVERTER!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunatly the site you bought it from had incorrect information on it. That is quite a bit problem with the internet these days.
When purcashing these types of devices it best to reference the manufacturers website to verify specs just because of situations like this. There isn't an updated converter for the Zen V Plus, it only supports uncompressed video content the form of DIB AVI files. While most content can be converted to the 28x96, 5fps DIB Avi file format supported by the device the files will always end up large due to the fact the device can not support comrpessed video.
Many people have asked for a better codec in a future firmware version, but I doubt the little device has the memory and horsepower to handle mpeg video decoding.

• Zen V Plus videos on m

Does anyone know how or what format to convert videos to get them to play using a mac? The creative site says avi and thats what I did but it didnt play on my player. Also, how can you change the background picture?

The Zen V Plus does not support the playback of compressed video content.
Which means when you convert an Mpeg video for playback on the Zen V Plus, the video is uncompressed in the final file.
Which is why they get so large.
Typically if you convert a 320x240 mpg file down to the 28x96 5fps video format for the Zen V Plus,? the resulting file will still be 8 to 0 times the size of the original due to the lack of video compression being used.

• Zen Sleek Photo - Video posibiliti

Hi,
Ive noticed that they managed to get video running on the ipod nano, thanks to someone making a firmware upgrade for it making it possible (http://www.gizmodo.com/gadgets/porta...ideo-44945.php for video and photos) I was thinking, surly the Zen sleek photo wouldnt have much bother doing this.. plus, having better storage than the nano, and a larger and better screen... i dont see why not ( the video encoding could be a free open source one)
Does anyone think this is possible?

Keep in mind, the ability to do video on the nano requires iPodLinux. This is not simply a "firmware upgrade", but a total replacement of Apple's firmware.
I'm not aware of anyone developing a "ZenLinux", so I wouldn't hold your breath.
