Zen V plus 1gb trouble!

Hi all,
My daughter has a Zen V plus gb. When I attach it to the Pc it recognises it, but there seems to be no screen. The battery charge icon does not appear, although the blue led back light glows on and off as if it is charging. When disconnected from the pc the led light will stay on for a few seconds and then go off again and it wont play any music! Any ideas? It is over a year old now :smileyindifferent:

Hello Mariaday_78,
Leave the ZEN V plus connected on your computer (preferrably using the rear USB port) for a couple of hours and do a reset while connected. Reset hole is located on the left side of the player. Hope this hel
ps.

  • Zen Nano Plus 1gb turns off .

    Hi
    I've had my player since September 2005 and have NEVER had any trouble out of it until 2 days ago. The problem...When I am listening to a track and use the wheel to back it up and listen to it again or the track before it, the player shuts off. I've been reading the posts here and realize I probably need some new firmware but which one do I need. Also my daughter has a 52 mb player that started doing the same thing.
    thanks in advance

    August22,
    The new firmware for the Zen Nano Plus is available on the Downloads page, it was released on the 25th of August. It includes this fix:
    Resolves the issue of your player (battery level full) turning off, while playing a 28 kbps DRM-protected WMA file. </LI>
    Please note that (as it states in the details fiel) this firmware does remove your player's FM recording feature.

  • Zen Nano Plus 1GB i/o device er

    Hello
    i have been using Zen nano plus gb for some time now. Today i plugged it in my pc and when i tried to acces it i got the following error message. "L:\ is not accessible. The request could not be permitted beacuse of an i/O device error.
    so i see my zen nano in my computer, but my zen nano exlorer dont regonize it and i cant acces my player and it gives me that error. How can i fix this?

    Hello!
    I had the same problem/error message with my son's 52 Mb Plus. In my case solution was firmware update. I downloaded from support latest firmware (ZENNanoPlus_PCFW_LF__3_03.exe), installed it and reformatted the player. If I had understood right, before firmware installation, also the Player Recovery Device was installed and run.
    Last April (04-20-2006) Buck posted in this forum a message with more precise instructions. You can also find instructions for updating firmware from Support KnowledgeBase (eg. Solution ID # 265 Updating firmware for MuVo or Zen Nano Plus).
    Hope this hel

  • Creative Zen Nano Plus 1GB - Black parts

    Hi everyone, I would like to enquire if anyone know where to get Creative Zen Nano Plus GB shell, mine got quite badly damaged but the electronics are in perfect condition. So I'd like to get just the shell and the battery cover, plus maybe the buttons too. Thanks.

    Ebay is a good source for such items. http://electronics.shop.ebay.com/iPo...=p3286.c0.m282

  • Zen Nano Plus 1GB Accessor

    Hi there!
    I am considering purchasing the zen nano plus flash player. I've read the product's review at http://www.cnet.com.au/mp3players/mp...0063743,00.htm
    However in the review it's mentioned that this flash player comes with a belt clip, a case as well as an armband included in the package!
    Could any of you who have purchased the player please tell me if that's true, as there is no mention of that in the product description from Creative.
    Thanks,

    The Zen Nano Plus might come with a case/armband in the US, but in the UK it only comes with a neckband :angry:
    So after months of searching, I've finally found a silicon/rubber case with armband on ebay! Looks like a genuine US one (has the Creative logo on it) which is $9.99 (but they wont ship outside the US). BTW DONT buy the one for the MuVo TX listed in the UK Creative shop as it wont fit :angry:

  • ZEN Nano Plus 1Gb Not Recognised, but 256Mb Works F

    HI all, I've searched the FAQ but can't find anything like the problem I'm experiencing here.
    I purchased a 256Mb Zen Nano Plus for my son at Christmas, and a Gb Zen Nano Plus for my wife. The 256Mb unit installed perfectly, works perfectly, no issues.
    However the Gb unit does not install correctly - Windows XP SP2 recognises it as a Creative unit, although it takes an age for it to recognise the disk dri've. It appears in device manager as a generic storage volume with no drivers installed, and does not appear under My Computer - I can't even tell what firmware version is installed.
    I've installed the correct drivers from Creative Technical Support. Have also tried to update the firmware, but the updater cannot find the Gb unit connected to the system.
    After trying various driver updates on my own PC, uninstalling the software, reinstalling, Creative support suggested it's faulty and I should get a replacement.
    Well the replacement arri'ved today and it has EXACTLY the same problems - can anyone help or advise?
    Thanks in advance,
    BT68

    Arcl, I haven't a clue what's happening - have spent the best part of 5 days fiddling and installing/reinstalling. As you say, the drivers for the 256Mb and Gb are exactly the same, so why one unit should work perfectly and the larger unit refuse to work at all, I have no idea.
    As stated elsewhere it appears to be some sort of compatibility issue, but I've tried it without ANY other USB devices connected, have updated my USB and Chipset drivers, and it's got me nowhere. Looks like I'll be getting a refund and going for a Sony player similar to my own, as although the software's clunky I know at least it works and is pretty much hassle-free.
    Why does it seem to be a problem with the Gb units though? Both cadman and Nespa in the other thread are experiencing issues with the units, I assume they're Gb too?

  • Zen nano plus 1GB not fully connec

    <SPAN>Just tried to connect a new Zen Nano plus gb to my XP machine. <SPAN>
    <SPAN>I can see it in Device Manager (both disk dri'ves and USB) and it says its working properly
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN>But, it takes about 5 min to appear on Explore and then it freezes Explore and cant be read.
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN>I have installed the Creative Mass storage drivers.
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN>I've tried to update the firmware to .3.03 (from .2.03) but no go. It recognized it in recovery mode and sets a driver but the .3.03 install program takes it out of recovery with no changes to the firmware (it keeps searching for a compatible device with no luck)
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN>I have also tried different USB ports, checking the power lever (which is OK) and assigning a device letter but Disk Management wont see it until after 5 min and then the device is not available
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN>Very Quirky - any suggestion?
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN>I'm about to send it back (very disappointed with Creative Support as I own Jukebox III and just lost my MuVo.
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN>Thanks in advance,
    <SPAN>David

    <SPAN>Yes, thanks,?
    <SPAN><SPAN>I tired that and so many more things (restarting, deleting driver and re-installing, deleting media program, different USB ports, checking power allocations for ports, different cables etc.)
    <SPAN>I'm a smart guy (BSEE) and spent about 5 hours trying to get this thing to work and no go - still quirky so I just dropped it off at the Post Office to return to Amazon.
    <SPAN>Honestly, it not worth my time to spend 5 hours trying to get it to work after paying good money for it. Poor QC testing, poor firmware, and poor support.
    <SPAN>What I don?t understand is why Creative doesn?t admit that these devices have a problem and either recall them or fix them. Look at the number of hits the "Zen Nano Plus Connection Problems " thread has! Over 200 hits.
    <SPAN>This is obviously a problem and they have their head in the sand. And it irks me when companies do this; release a product that is faulty and let their customers sort it out.
    <SPAN>I suggest a thread that logs the problems with respect to each device.
    <SPAN>Example:
    <SPAN>Thread: Zen Nano Plus Problems:
    <SPAN><SPAN>)<SPAN> <SPAN>connection problems: 493
    <SPAN><SPAN>2)<SPAN> <SPAN>Automatically powering off problems: 327
    <SPAN><SPAN>3)<SPAN> <SPAN>Etc
    <SPAN>Each person could add their one occurrence to the running total and someone could sort through and actually find the number of occurrences a problem happens. This can get a company to own up to larger design and QC issues which they shove out the door to boost the bottom line.
    <SPAN>But what do I know, I just stumbled upon this site googling ?Zen Nano Plus Connection Problems?
    <SPAN>I'm moving on now and thank everyone for their help.
    <SPAN>Best of luck,D

  • Zen nano plus 1gb only taking 128 so

    I just bought mine last Monday, and installed it today. I started putting songs onto it when suddenly it said I couldn't put any more. I looked at the properties and it said I still had 408MB of free space. Any ideas?

    I don't want to sound stupid- however,? can you walk me thru the steps to make new folders to transfer to my Zen Nano. I have the same amount of songs on my player as the other poster. The only file on my player is root, and I don't know how to convert my current songs to another folder on the player. I also have tried to remove a song and add another and I get "error transfering" message. I have searched all the help and FAQ, ?Nomad site, and no where does it tell me in the original info to create folders before transfering to player.Message Edited by beads4u on 03-05-200605:39 PM

  • Zen nano plus (1gb) CANNOT FORMAT ANYM

    I've been using it successfully for months. Today I attempted to reformat the whole device and reload my music.
    Now it will not format FAT32 anymore. When I try I get "Windows was unable to complete the format".
    It will allow me to format FAT, but when I try to put an mp3 onto the dri've, I get "cannot copy xxx: the request could not be performed because of an I/O device error."
    I uninstalled the mass drivers, then reinstalled MStorage_PCDRV_LB__07_00_250.exe.
    I also followed the flash player rescue steps as found on this forum. It did not appear to do anything helpful other than reinstall the device.
    Is my physical memory corrupt and beyond repair? What a disappointment. It worked great since August. Oh well, for $70 US what should I expect. Guess I'll get a Cowon next time.

    It will now be formatted as FAT - if you want FAT32 try using Nano Plus Media Explorer and use the Initialize function.

  • Zen nano plus 1gb intermittent operat

    hello folks, I've had my nano plus for a week. Sometimes it will play and switch on and off fine, at other times for no apparent reason it will turn itself off and cannot be turned back on again unless the case is pressed between two fingers around the USB connector area while holding the power button down. If it is in play mode, and the said area is pressed, it just turns off, like when the battery is exhausted. Have tried new batteries. Fault appears at no particular time. Does this seem more of a mechanical fault rather than a software/firmware fault?

    Hi,
    From what you are describing there it would seem mechanical to me. I'd suggest getting in touch with or CService team and they'll be able to sort everything out for you
    Hope this hel

  • Zen Nano Plus 1GB p

    Hi folks, just formatted my h/d and re-installed XP Pro.
    All ok except the Nano won't work. It's recognized and installed without trouble,
    but when i double click it in My Computer i'm asked to insert a disk into dri've F.
    I've never had this prob before. Can't format the thing either, there's no storage size
    showing, just zero bytes and RAW in the file system.
    Any ideas how to get the device working again would be much appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Steve.

    Did you install Creative's mass storage driver on your pc? If not, then do it. Perhaps after that when you connect the player Windows might give you the found new hardware screen and allow you to install the driver for the player. You can download the mass storage driver here. http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/?

    I am new to this and would greatly appreciate any help. I transferred files to the device and an error message comes up as if I am out of space, yet it says I have quite a bit left. Any dummy help for this newbie?

    Read the FAQ post in the list at the top of the forum. This is covered in the MuVo section. Post back if you still need help afterwards.

  • How long does load the Creative Zen V Plus 1GB MP3 Player with a USB (Compute

    Hello,
    This my question: Thanks,Rubenjb

    That would depend on what you are loading. If you are loading a very large file, or a lot of music tracks it can take ahwile but I find that one song only takes about 5 seconds to load.
