Zen V Plus 2GB Won't Connect

For about a year now my Zen V has been stuck on the logo screen everytime I attempt to turn it on. Since the Circuit City went out where I got it and there was no other ones to go to I was SOL to get it replaced. Now that I read up on things to do such as update its' firmware and what not it still leaves me with the same problem that my computer still won't show it's connected any USB Port I put it into. I've tried almost all ways to figure out how to show it's connected. Also just recently I again tried to turn it on and the only times it turns on now is when I plug it using the USB into the PC and when I take it out I can't turn it on using the power thing so if there's any solutions here I would love an answer to this.

    I have purchased the following Zen Stone Plus 2GB with built in speaker on 24.06.2008.
    From day one, it had a charging problem . Initial charging it'snever go beyond 87%.
    After using it for 2 days, at the time of recharging , I found my player won`t get dectected in my PC .
    I took the set to the vendor for a checkup . He tried to solve it by resetting , formating etc. But he could only able to to format it's sacrificing its 50% of its allocated space.
    My vendor then changed the set with a brand new one, againts that faulty one .
    Now the new one worked well for 3 - 4 days , but it is now totally dead .
    But the set did not give any indication before it become completely dead.
    A few dust particles inside the LCD screen was also observed. I can`t understand how come dust particles can enter inside
    a player which is sealed box pack .
    Next issue is with the battery which CREATIVE promised of giving a backup of approx 20 hrs of continious playback , which with minimal scuffling and with minimal settings lasted for 0 hrs approx ( 50% less than promised ).
    Another thing that i must state is the problem of FM Reception . It is simply terrible . In the same area where my mobile's FM reception is fine , Zen Stone's FM failed to give any reception .
    I came to know about Zen Stone Plus from of my friend , who is using Zen Stone Plus GB without any problem for long time.
    Pls tell me what to do now, since my player is compleately out of order now , and pls suggest me something regarding the issue of battery backup , FM reception ... etc.
    Now i am in a total mess . I just dont know what to do with the set that is few days old .
    Pls help urgently .

    I would suggest getting in touch with support, they might be able to help you with this.
    Go to the Support section of the website and select your product. On your right, click on Contact Us. You will be provided with a list of troubleshooting options. Click on the one closes to your issue. Go through the suggestions and if the does not work or you have already tried that, scroll to the bottom and click on No, escalate to email. This should bring you to the email form to contact support.

    i have been using my Creative Zen Stone Plus 2GB since past 7-8months
    recently it started giving problems. It dint start up and when i connected to my computer it is asking me to format the dri've when i try to open it..and when i click to format..it says it cant format and then the dri've vanishes from My Compute.
    I took to the service centre..tht guy he said he updated the firmware..i came bak ad connected it to my pc to charge...my winamp detected it as an mp3 player and asked me to synchronize which i cancelled..
    open the dri've...then when i tried to delete the files...same prob started again!!!
    now the dri've doesnt even show up in My Computer..
    wat to do?

  • Zen V Plus 2gb - Space prob

    Saturday I bought a Zen V Plus 2gb and I installed the software, loaded my Zen and tried to fill it with music.
    But suddenly (by about 800mb ~ 80 songs) my Zen froze. I used the reset button and tried to fill it again. My 80 songs were still on it. But my computer didn't recognized it anymore. So I formated my Zen and I upgraded it with new firmware.
    Then I filled it again - and it froze again at 800mb and my pc couldn't recognize it anymore, too.
    I don't think that it is normal. What can I do? My Zen got 2gb free space but I only can use about 2/5 of it because it freezes. There is no notification like "The disc space is full", it just freezes and I have to format my Zen to use it again.
    Without formating I can't fill it with my pc or with the pc of my father. So it can't be a problem of a computer. Even the record function doesn't work. Is my Zen damaged, or is it normal that I can use only 800mb of my 2gb Zen?!
    I hope that someone could help me and I excuse me for my bad English :-)

    The st?8GB Zen V Plus I?bought also had this same problem. It would allow me to add?only about 7GB of music before it would freeze and even cleaning up the links from the recovery mode menu would cause a freeze. I called Creative and told them I had read that someone else in this message board?wrote about?the same problem - a "faulty" flash dri've. Creative said they hadn't heard about it and recommended that I return it to where I bought it from and simply replace it. That's what I did and my 2nd 8GB V Plus has been working great.

    This happened to me on my zen v plus 4GB.
    I fixed it by resetting and then starting in recovery mode and choosing the "clean up" option. To do this, reset your zen through the pinhole. Then hold down the play button while turning the player on. When you see the creative logo on the screen, release the play button.
    A recovery mode menu should then appear. Choose "clean up". That's what worked for me. "Clean up" doesn't delete anything from your player, but the format option will. Also, definitely don't choose "reload firmware" unless you have a copy of the firmware on your computer!

    Hi. I recently had my Zen Micro just freeze and die after 8 months. I lost ,600 songs. I am now interested in purchasing a flash mp3 for working out and commuting.     ok i have the 2gb zen stone plus and my problem is it's a.not being recognised by my computer b. it does nothing to play music store files etc c.when it's chargd i turn it on but all i get is the creative logo and nothing else but the small blue light that is supposed to flash on and of stays on fully instead of flashing on and off. does anyone have any ideas to resolve this problem? preferably knowing how to format my player.

    You can't get the media content from a Zen V Plus as FAT32. It uses MTP to transfer content, not UMS (i.e. it doesn't look like a memory stick to your car HiFi).

    I haven't tested it off yet as I always charge it after one bar of the battery indicator has gone. But thought I try to use it'suntil it's completely flat this time. After listening to 4. albums and minimal playing in the menu the battery indicator still says full.

    Hey. Have you tried resetting the player. Under the power switch, there is a tiny hole. Use a pin or paperclip to gently push in. The player should turn off, and rebuild its library when turned on again. You should also upgrade your firmware, available here. Just click on support, and go to downloads.

  • Zen Stone Plus 2GB -- Unresponsive

    I have had my Stone for a couple months now, and just recently it has been giving me problems. On Friday I was using it in the car and turned it off while stopping in a store. When I returned and tried to play it, the Creative symbol came on, followed by the Zen Plus screen and then went blank. I then thought that it just needed a charge and brought it home. After leaving it in my computer for a day, I took it out and found it was still doing the same thing. I tried charging it again but that didnt work either. When it was plugged into my computer it showed a full 3 bars, followed by a lightning bolt. The next time I tried, I found that not only has it become unresponsi've (no lights, or screens), the computer is not recognizing it.
    I hope this does not mean the end for my MP3, because I have enjoyed it up to this point. Thanks.

  • Zen V Plus 2GB Frozen screen FIXED!

    My Zen would freeze once in awhile, usually if I downloaded long audio books at 45+ minute per "song."
    Well, all of a sudden it just froze. For good. The power button did nothing, resetting with a pin did nothing. Combinations of the two did nothing.
    Then it would only power on if plugged into a computer with a USB cord. Still the same. It would reboot with the Creative screen (only once did it remain on it), flick to a battery low icon for a milisecond, and then move on to rebuilding the library, and then go to the previously stuck screen showing one of the "long" songs.
    Then it would not come on at all unless I left it plugged in for hour or so. The blue light under the buttons wouild flicker fast and eventually flicker slower and longer until it just turned on by itself. It seems like it needed to be charged enough to work, but if I played with it, it needed to build up a charge strong enough to start.
    I tried different usb cords, different usb ports, different computers. I tried going into the My Devices settings and on a Vista I uninstalled it, reinstalled, updated driver; and on an XP I downloaded the MLT whatever that communicates with it...and still nothing.
    I tried combinations of holding in the play/pause button, pressing power button down, and resetting with a pin....nothing. (all suggested by Creative Labs)
    I tried software such as the MP3 Recovery Tool, the Zen organizer and they all could not connect or "see" the Zen.
    I ran across a comment somewhere that said there was a Windows Media problem of some sort but what caught my eye was the reference to the original Zen cd.
    The cd had no "tool" section but I reinstalled everything except it wouldn't reinstall the MW 0 because I had a newer version. Then while still fiddling with the Zen, it all of a sudden said it was docked, aka "connected."
    I started to run the recovery tool and could see it finally under My Devices (thought I didn't touch it).
    Finally, I could press play upon restart and get the service menu screen. I cleaned it, reformatted it, and deleted the firmware.
    The recovery tool updated everything and now it is back to normal.
    My original playlists and music were deleted on the Zen but my computer still had the original so it is synching it right now.

    WOrked before , worked to sign in to here but won't on the phone.

    As provided else where  Store is currently unavailable probably since it is the middle of the night on West Coast when Apple would do maintenance
    it is nothing to do with iOS 8 or any other iPhone issues
    The servers are not available regardless of the method used to access Mac Windows PC etc etc

  • Palm Pre Plus (Verizon) won't connect to Exchange Server

    I have been on the phone for 3 days (purchased the Pre from Verizon the day it came out) and have been unable to connect to my companys email server. I have had a Palm Treo 755 for yrs, and have always gotten my email to that. After days of speaking with Palm reps, I am being told that NO Verizon Pre is able to connect to a corp exchange server at this time. I am quite upset by this, since after listening to a Palm Reps advice, I had an IT person make sure our server was up to date, we had the correct certificates, etc. This of course took hours to complete, and the IT person's time is not cheap. So afte spending all that time and money dealing with this, I was told today by a supervisor at Palm that NOBODY on Verizons network is able to connect to their corp email server, and that it was an issue that is being looked into.
    I searched the forums, and found lots of issues of this with Sprint service, but didn't find any with Verizon. Anybody else out there on Verizon and unable to connect? Or maybe the better question is, Does anybody out there have a Pre Plus with Verizon and IS able to connect to their Exchange (EAS) server?

    Correction to my last message. After doing a reset on my phone, and updating our server, I was able to connect to my email. Thank you for your comments to update to SP2. Overall, I am still very upset about the over the phone support Palm provided. Like I mentioned before, I brought up the SP1 vs SP2 option multiple times over the phone, and I was told each time that was not the issue. Even my IT guy fought me, a little, on doing that update since he had heard the same information as I did from the Palm reps on the phone. After creating an account on here, and PDAguy pointing me to the long thread about people with a similar problem, I showed this to our IT guy and he happily updated our server to SP2. 
    I am happy to get this issue resolved, but still feel Palm mislead me along the way, probably costing me over $400 in IT support,  my wasted time, and traveling to a Verizon store to exchange a perfectly good phone and having me trying different options that did not need to be done. I made 3 different calls to Palm (along with my IT guy who was paid by the hour) and each call lasted about 1 to 1-1/2 hrs. Most of the time being on hold while the rep "research" my question.  Even had a rep over the phone lie to me, and tell me he was able to connect to our server (using my info) with a Pre that he had with him. He then told me I had a faulty phone, and I was directed to go back to Verizon to switch the phone out. After I had switched the phone out, and it of course still did not work, I was then told by another Palm rep, and his supervisor that this was a know issue and that NOBODY with Verizon was able to connect to an Exchange server (with a Pre) due to a software issue on the phone. I had a rebate from Verizon to get this phone for $149, but with all my wasted time, the cost of my IT guy, and the lack of knowledge by the Palm reps, I think I probably own the most expensive Palm Pre Plus out there.
