Zen v plus 2nd player installation

after installing a new hard dri've and windows pro, pc will not recognize or install 2nd player.

Formatted the Player, Ran Disc Cleanup, Downloaded and ran the MP3 Player Recovery Tool and reloaded the firmware successfully. Just finished uploading my mp3 files to the player. I'll report my results in a few days.
I was wondering about bitrates though...
)One of my mp3 files failed to upload beacuse "the?files format is not supported or the bitrate exceeds the players capability".
Which makes no sense, since I ripped all the songs by by that artist from the same album. For whatever reason though, the song in question is 64Kbps instead of 28 like the others. I recenently converted all my wma's to mp3's to see if it helps with the skipping. Bad convert possibly ?
2) I have some mp3 files whoose bitrate is reported as being 320Kb
ps.
It seems to me that theese higher bitrate songs skip more often than thoose of the 28Kbps bitrate. I'll start writing down exactly which songs are skipping and see if there is a correlation.
I also have some mp3's with a bitrate of 0KBps, accorsding to Medisource Organizer 5. This must be an error. Anything I can do to correct this ? Or, what is causing this ?

Sounds like you have a bad or weak battery in your player. How are you playing your music? Are you using wins Media player or another player to play your music? Do you have the orginal Creative Zen V Plus CD Installation Driver? You might try and uninstall the drivers and reinstall them again. Just some things to think about. Zen v plus probl

i've only had my zen v plus for a day and decided to charge it overnight. when i was listening to it this morning, after a song finished, it just turned off. i pressed the reset button multiple times but nothing happened. if i try to turn it on, nothing happens - i even tried to press other buttons and held them for more than 30 seconds.
so far, nothing has been working.
i even linked the player to my comp through the usb cable and the computer didn't even detect it - so i can't even update it firmware.
has this happened to anyone else - if so, do you have a solution?

try this I found it on another website I had the same problem and it worked.
To solve this, plug in your hardware and wait for the prompt to search for drivers.
If no drivers are found, click on the "advanced" option of locating the drivers manually.
If you dont get an option of browsing manually go to Control Panel > Device Manager and Find your hardware thats not installed. Right click on it and select Update Driver Software.
You get asked to Browse your computer, or you can enter a file location. Simply place the following in, or find the folder on your computer
C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository
Click next and Windows searches that folder... and finds your drivers... installs them and sorts it all out.
This has solved my problem with my Creative Zen V Plus MP3 player and some other hardwares which cannot be recognised."

Can anyone help? Neither my Media Player () or Creative Zen V Series Media Explorer recognises my MP 3 Player as connected. And I seem to have problems connecting the hardware via new harware so can't load driver! Have followed all suggestions under FAQs. Help!!!

Try this I found it on another website after searching for a solution for months. Neither Creative or Microsoft could fix it. It worked perfectly. Once you follow the steps give your computer a few minutes to find the driver, and it should work.

Dear All,
I bought a Zen V plus mp3 player recently. I installed the s/w that came on the cd and loaded songs onto my mp3 player.
Later, i wanted to remove some songs from the player and connected it to my computer. Any creative s/w that i used became unresponsi've. This happened about 4-5 times. Afterwards, i unplugged the mp3 player from the computer.
When i plug it in now, it says "docked" and windows says it cannot one of the connected hardware has malfunctioned.
I have tried most recommendations suggested in the forums, including adjusting registry entries, choosing the c:\windows\inf directory to load files etc.
I also tried it on my other laptop and get the same response.
Device manager says the device is unknown and advanced properties say that no driver has been installed.
I want to gift it to someone tomorrow and am really hopeful someone here can help me find a solution since unplugging the mp3 player seems to be a common problem - accidental/otherwise.
I also tried to reset the player but it does not power up after it is disconnected from the computer.
i use windows xp with sp2

Zen V Plus - how to change quality in video convert

I?ve just bought the ZEN V Plus MP3 player and I?m very disappointed with the Video Convertor. I would love to watch video files on my ZEN, but, when I want to copy file to memory, I have to convert it with that program, but, it'ss impossible to change the quality, so after the conversion I don?t have a video, that has 40MB, but 500!!! Does anyone know how to change the quality? or better - are there any alternati've programs, which can convert video files to be compatible with my ZEN V Plus?

Zen NANO Plus doesn't switch more than 2 songs

Hi i have a problem with my new Zen nano plus mp3-player...
I can only switch 2 songs. If i switch to the thrid song the player automaticly shut down.
In the config menue i can switch as long as i want and the player doesn't shut down.
I formated the player in FAT32 and in FAT - System but it doesn't work acctually (Fastformatation).
And: If i wanna call the German Service hotline (+353 4380000) i only reach an private guy. I tipped in my telephon: 353 4380000 <-- is it right? Or are there any numbers before the "+" ?

Zen Stone Plus: Does it start playing again where i stopped the so

I want to know if the Zen stone Plus MP3 player starts in the same song after it has been turned off.
So if I turn it off 3.4min in a song, does it then start at 3.4 when i turn it on again, or does it start from the beginning of the song
The reason i ask is because i often use the mp3-player to hear "sound-books", and the files are often very long, so its very annoying when my current mp3 player starts from the beginning of the file after i have heard maybe 30 min

I believe the pattern with the Stones has been that if you plug them in for charging, even if you don't update the mp3s, playlists, etc., they essentially get "reset" when they resume.
They pick up where you left off as long as you *don't* plug them in for charging, changing what's loaded, etc.
I don't recall it being possible to do something like set a bookmark.
Basically, you should have several hours of play / resume time like you desire, but if you have to charge the player at some point, you'll have to go back to the beginning of the file. Not sure if they can alter this in future firmware or not.

New zen v plus won't play!!! he

HI, just spent the day downloading music from napster and my hard dri've to my new creative zen v plus mp3 player. (used to have the muvo and I loved it) and after 3 hours of hard work I unplugged the mp3 from my computer and the green down toggle doesn't seem to take me down on ANY of the menus. Not only that, but it says it is playing, but I can't hear anything and there is no evidence of any files on there. (not that I can check due to not being able to go down to select artists, albums, etc. (in music library menu)? When I look on the explorer on my computer when it (the zen) is plugged in via USB, it shows all my music on the player!!! what is going on? very frustrated as was a birthday present. (by the way, I followed all procedure including the full charge before doing anything with the mp3)

I've been away from this thread for a while because my new 8GB Zen V Plus simply stopped working. Nothing brought it back to life including reset with a paper clip. One moment it was working...the next it was dead. Fortunately I was within the 30 days of Comp-U-Plus' return policy and they exchanged it. I received the replacement today and guess what.... It has the same problem: It won't update the firmware. It just says the player isn't plugged in even though the repair program finds it just fine. This happens on two different computers. I contacted Creative support as suggested above and they gave me the same links to the same KB articles this forum gives. At this point I'm sure it's not the player and it's the firmware update software. It's time for Creative's engineers to contact people in this forum and figure out what the problem is to correct it. my Creative Zen Nano Plus mp3 player stopped working after i dropped the mechanical part. When I checked it, I didn't see any chip marks or anything, but still it won't work. Can anyone help me? I'll post up pictures if u need me too, and I'll show how it broke.

They must have been talking about a different player such as the Zen Micro which does recharge via the USB port.

Used Zen Stone Plus purchased on eBay

%?I have just bought a used Zen Stone Plus MP3 player from a seller on eBay. It came without any software (i.e. a CD) and I have had a problem accessing the Starter Pack from http://support.creative.com? (It downloads the ZENStonePlus_PCApp_CLE_E6__52_0.exe file but gives an error when I run this.)
I expected the display to light up on a long press of the central button (with the USB lead and headphones disconnected) but it shows no response. Windows XP Home recognises it when I connect via the USB (direct to a port), the display lights up briefly and the LED shows blue.But leaving it connected for several hours does not seem to have charged the battery. (The LED continues to show blue until the USB lead is disconnected.)
Any advice for a confused first-time user would be welcome!

Zen V Plus 4gb Power On/Detection Is

I bought a Zen V Plus 4gb player on Tuesday (December 3st, 2007) when my old Zen V gb died (and it was out of warranty).
I bought this out of familiarity with Creative V series players, and my experiances with them have been positi've so far.
However, when I first put music on the player (I had the software installed beforehand)...about 2.5 gigs into transferring the music, the computer stops recognizing that the Zen V Plus is there. When I checked the actual Zen V Plus, I noticed it was frozen so I pressed the reset button.
The player tried to rebuild the library, and it froze again after maybe 30% progress. I waited around ten minutes, I reset the player again, only to have it then freeze on the "Creative" start up screen, and after waiting another ten minutes (after a lifetime working with computers I have learned patience is a very valuable tool in troubleshooting) I hit the reset button again.
Now, the computer refuses to recognize anything other than the chipset on the player, (its a model number of SMTP3600). I have tried almost every fix here, yet still cant get my player to work.
In addition to the player not being detected, I have the problem of it refusing to turn on. When I hold down the power button to turn it on, the play/pause and back lights blink without the player turning on. I have tried charging it using other USB charging equipment (with the usb cord it came with), without effect. I have tried leaving my computer on for several hours to charge it, with no effect. The charging indicator doesn't even show up..because the screen doesn't work.
Does anyone have a solution to this before I exchange it and buy a different mp3 player?

Zen V Plus -- Blank Screen

Old lady in her 70's needs help!? My Zen V Plus MP3 Player has been losing the light on its screen, and it is now totally blank. Tried to reboot as per instructions - difficult when you cannot read any text - and now the machine will not turn off. Because I cannot see anything I am left with a totally blank screen but the radio is going loud and strong.
Creative suggested a firmware reload. Waited in vain for more than an hour and a half for it to finalise, and gave up. May get an ipod instead!!
