Zen V Plus (4G) headphone problem

I've had one of these for some time and it continues to be great, but suddenly any headphones don't seem to work with it:? you have to get them in *just* the right position to get full volume and signal on both sides.
Is there any way to repair this? Maybe replacing the board inside with the jack--resoldering connections, etc.
Has anyone done this? It's just annoying since otherwise it operates fine and i'm too cheap to buy a new one. ;-)

I cannot help you solve this issue ... since it doesn't sound like an issue that can be resolved by an end user. It sounds like the circuitry inside your player is defecti've, so that the proper voltage isn't getting to all the screen pixels (but I'm not an electronics engineer). Although it's probably not the answer you wanted to hear, I think it's time to return the unit to where you bought it ... if it's still under warranty.
And btw, Green Day is a great group!!! And my advice is never buy from eBay

Help! My Zen Stone Plus 4GB working problems!

My Zen Stone Plus 4GB worked fine a few minutes ago, but if I now turn it on, it'll freeze to Zen Stone Plus 4GB logo. I can't go to menu, use buttons or turn it off a normal way! Just if I press reset button, then it'll turn off. But it's same froze thing everytime I turn it on!
Second bad thing is, that my computer doesn't recognize the player anymore. It just turns it on, but it'll stay in the same logo.
I tried Creavite's support things, no help at all.
And Recovery Tool and Firmware didn't work, because they don't recognize it.
Please, help

kindly format your player in windows xp and scan it with avast antivirus software....... update the firmware after formatting...

Screen of Zen Stone Plus with pixel problem

Sorry but I am unable to see the picture. I guess you probably might want to contact a third-party vendor or someone knowledgable in electronics to help you repair/replace the screen.

Zen V Plus no longer functions

My Zen V PlusPlayer just stopped and froze up while playing a wma file. Still showed plenty of battery charge.
Since then player freezes up at opening logo screen. Cannot even turn if off except by using Reset.
Holding other buttons while trying to turn player on makes no difference so cannot do Cleanup, Reformat, etc.
No connection with my computer (Win XP sp3) can be made.
Recovery Tool won't work, says it can't find player.
Player is just past its yr warrenty.
Is there any fix for this, or is the thing just junk now?

maybe you have tried this already, but have you tried resetting it's My zen v plus too had problems but with freezing and resetting was the cure. Hope this helps!

Zen V Plus, no belt cli

Hello, I have just bought a Zen V Plus 8GB and I love it, I have one gripe and that is that there is no clip on the player to fasten to a belt or shirt. I have searched around but cannot find any Creative or 3rd party cover or something that includes a clip,
If anyone knows of something please reply here, thanks.

Zen stone plus 2gb god **bleep** error

ok i have the 2gb zen stone plus and my problem is it's a.not being recognised by my computer b. it does nothing to play music store files etc c.when it's chargd i turn it on but all i get is the creative logo and nothing else but the small blue light that is supposed to flash on and of stays on fully instead of flashing on and off. does anyone have any ideas to resolve this problem? preferably knowing how to format my player.

So the player will not turn on correctly at all? Have you tried it on another PC to see if it's recognised there, and so you could format it and/or update the firmware. Has the player been working correctly until now, or did you just purchase it's

Problem with my brand new mp3 player Zen Stone Plus 2GB ( with built in speaker )

I have purchased the following Zen Stone Plus 2GB with built in speaker on 24.06.2008.
From day one, it had a charging problem . Initial charging it'snever go beyond 87%.
After using it for 2 days, at the time of recharging , I found my player won`t get dectected in my PC .
I took the set to the vendor for a checkup . He tried to solve it by resetting , formating etc. But he could only able to to format it's sacrificing its 50% of its allocated space.
My vendor then changed the set with a brand new one, againts that faulty one .
Now the new one worked well for 3 - 4 days , but it is now totally dead .
But the set did not give any indication before it become completely dead.
A few dust particles inside the LCD screen was also observed. I can`t understand how come dust particles can enter inside
a player which is sealed box pack .
Next issue is with the battery which CREATIVE promised of giving a backup of approx 20 hrs of continious playback , which with minimal scuffling and with minimal settings lasted for 0 hrs approx ( 50% less than promised ).
Another thing that i must state is the problem of FM Reception . It is simply terrible . In the same area where my mobile's FM reception is fine , Zen Stone's FM failed to give any reception .
I came to know about Zen Stone Plus from of my friend , who is using Zen Stone Plus GB without any problem for long time.
Pls tell me what to do now, since my player is compleately out of order now , and pls suggest me something regarding the issue of battery backup , FM reception ... etc.
Now i am in a total mess . I just dont know what to do with the set that is few days old .
Pls help urgently .

Click on the one closes to your issue. Go through the suggestions and if the does not work or you have already tried that, scroll to the bottom and click on No, escalate to email. Zen V Plus - Problem with installing MediaExplorer, MediaSource e

Hi, this's my first thread on this forum and I hope the last. 2 days ago i bought mp3 player called Creative Zen V Plus 2 GB. It's refurbished and that's why i have no guide book. Anyway I think there won't be an answer for my problem there. It's more important that I have original CD with all software - even if it is not running unfortunately (probably due to my computer).
Well, I would like to transfer songs to my Zen but the only way I can do it, is to open Zen's folder in MyComputer and copy files there. Then I can listen them using player without any problem. The problem is that I can't use any of Creative programmes like MediaExplorer, MediaSource, so I can't even make playlists or converting video files. I just can't install them on to my computer. When I try to install any of software few errors appear:
"Installation is unable to continue because of one or more unresolved issues.
Please contact suppot services.
[I] - Registry value StartMSu under Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce cannot be created.

After this, the installation window closes and the computer asks me to connect my device. When I try, an error appears and the application closes.
I don't know what to do to install those programmes successfully. They would give me benefits and many possibilities to use my player in a better way.

PS. I've tried to install programmes from the original CD and from creative.com. Same results, so I think the problem is with my computer. Do anybody know what's going wrong Device Manager sees my player so it's connected for sure. Btw sorry for my english. I'm polish and I'm still learning

In WMP the Now Playing or the Library window on the right drag what you want to that & side the small tab in that window (now playing) click on the tab to Save as playlist (give it a name) on the library side(if using that pane)same thing except it will say untitled give it a name. In the sync tab you can do the same or on the left side at the top it says playlist you can click on the playlist name (if you've named them) & connect device to sync.Message Edited by coachop94 on 0-25-2008 2:3 PM

Problem with zen-nano-plus!! please help

i have the zen-nano-plus 52mb. and i try to update the firmware with latest version but i don't delete the music files in it.
i have started the instalation and the program asked me to delete the files on zen. (i didn't care keeping the files, so i continue the instalation)
when the program began to delete the files, after in few seconds i received an error messege from windowsoperating system reported error. the limit time on semaphore it's over.) now i have an 0.00.00 firmware version and i can't use the zen-nano because it's not starting. i have tried with the recovery tool but same situation it happend again. please help me if anybody knows something!!!!

Go to Creative.com and click the Support link. Look for the firmware driver for your Zen Nano and follow the directions. I had to do this to fix my Zen Nano Plus, because it had the exact same problem that yours had.

I'm trying to install the software included with creative Zen V Plus but it is not possible - it stops at 63%
I get this following error:
"CTIntrfu.dll can not be installed"
"DoInstall fails to launch E:\PDE\CTXInst\Setup.inx"
I'm using "Windows XP 2002 home edition - serivce pack 2"
I'll appreciate any help.

Hey Guys,Here is a link to instructions on how How to obtain and to install USB 2.0 drivers in Windows XP Service Pack . http://support.microsoft.com/default...;EN-US;Q329632?Win2000 and later have the capability to support USB 2.0, but USB 2.0 was released after XP was release, so there weren't any drivers installed before Windows XP service pack 2. Make sure you've installed all your windows updates including service pack 2. You can check if you have SP2 by right-clicking on my computer and choosing "properties", it will say on the general tab. Also the way to tell if you have USB 2.0 drivers installed is to right-click on my choose "Manage", then choose "device manager" look down to "uni'versal serial Bus controllers" and click on the + . This will expand the USB devices. Look for the word "enchanced" (USB enhanced host controller). If you see it, then you have USB 2.0 support. If not, use the link above and get the drivers. Vista problem (Zen V Plus 8

Just bought a brand new Zen V Plus 8gb... stick the CD in my pc... install software... restart computer... plug in Zen.
Windows Vista is having none of it. Cannot locate drivers, cannot install hardware, cannot find solution both off and online and simply cannot find the player. Windows media player cannot locate it, nor can the Creative software or Windows explorer
Device manager lists the device but cannot find any drivers for it.
Downloaded and installed all the software listed under support for Vista and my model.
Surely there is something not right.
Booted up my old pc with XP on it... installed CD, plugged in Zen and it worked fine. Creative cant be that in the past... is the Zen V Plus out of date already? If so let me know so I can get my money back asap!
If someone has managed to fix this problem then please let me know... frankly Creative's knowledge base message of duel boot both XP and Vista is rubbish in my opinion.

Hey. I was having the exact same issue with USB flash dri'ves. Windows Vista was just not taking any!I read somewhere a suggestion from someone on a forum suggesting to uninstall all USB controller devices in Device Manager and then "scan for hardware changes" to make them reinstall. Of course after trying this Windows Vista was not taking ANY sort of drivers for them again and I lost all USB functionality, requiring a good format, lol.. Straight after getting back to the desktop from Windows Vista's installation, I plugged in my USB flash dri've and it was recognized!It would seem that perhaps driver conflicts with other devices I installed (namely USB devices) was causing Windows Vista to not accept any more USB devices. This time after formating I was therefore very paranoid with what drivers I was using for USB devices like my webcam and Bluetooth dongle. I managed to get proper Windows Vista Bluetooth drivers this time round and managed to install the Bluetooth dongle fine and my USB flash dri've was still being recognized after. Moral of the story...be very careful with what drivers you use for your USB devices. Namely if they're fully Windows Vista compatible, stamped as such by the manufacturer of the drivers and the device in question. Perhaps this is a Windows Vista bug because why should Windows Vista incompatible drivers for my webcam say, eliminate my ability to use further USB devices that have nothing to do with my webcam?Tell you what I didn't try...unplugging all USB devices prior to plugging in my USB flash dri've. Have you tried that for your MP3 player?
I don't know if any of the above will help terribly, but at least I hope it gives you ideas. Just as a note, I plugged in my Zen V Plus (2GB) straight after booting up (without installing any software or drivers first) and it detected it properly, allowing me to transfer files. Problems with Zen Stone Plus & Vi

Hi - can anyone help please?
I have a Zen Stone Plus 4gb which works fine on my friends pc runing windows xp but when I use it on mine running vista it recognises it in device manager but shows there's nothing on it despite there being various songs/audio books on, so can't drag & drop other items to/from it.
The player seems to crash when plugged into my pc & I have to keep resetting it, even when I'm only trying to charge it up.
The player is fine on an xp pc - it seems vista is the problem. I've gone back to an xp pc to download the latest firmware which it seemed to do ok but still doesn't work on my vista pc.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how did you sort it out?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Zen Stone Plus FF and Rewind problems

I have a Zen Stone Plus and I upgraded to the new softeware and firmware. I can not use my fast foward or reverse button. It's like I didn't even press them. They don't go foward or back so as I am listening to a book, if I missed something I can scroll back. The up button makes the speaker louder and the down button makes the speaker lower but there is no FF or rewind.Can I have this fixed? Does anyone have a solution?

Try reloading the firmware for your Nano Plus - that sorts out most problems with these players. Go to Support, Downloads and choose MP3 Players, Zen, Nano Plus. Make sure you follow the instructions carefully.
