Zen V Plus: adding pictu

HelpI cant get any pictures on my Zen V Plus.... I am using the Zen V Plus Series Media Explorer. While on the main screen i click add? media , then a screen named Import Wizard (My Zen)? appears... from there i? click the photo i would like to add... then i get a screen called Import Complete comes up and it shows that no media has been transfered.... If you read on the screen it says that the reason is unknown.
I was able to add pictures before i updating my Zen. Then after the update, all of pictures were gone (even the default ones), however... my music was still there..... I just got my Zen and i would like some help so that way i know it is worth my money....PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!Message Edited by rowingintherain on 2-26-200602:55 PM

So the picture format can't be the problem It automatically converts them to the supported format.
But even though the transfer says it's complete and you can't see anything in the media explorer, can you actually see them in your Zen?
Sometimes things don't show up on my explorer but do in my ZVM.
Try recovery mode, or reset mode (little hole at the bottom of the Zen, I suppose {use a paper clip!} )

Have tried to download drivers and software for Zen Micro. When I try to run it though, it does not install because it says that I do not have device connected. Have erased everything off of Zen Micro, but have not reformatted. When I attach Zen Micro to PC, Zen Micro displays "booted" & PC displays "Zen Micro" for a second or two, then switches to "MTP Device"?. Do I need to erase everything from the Zen Nano Plus first?2. What do you think my next step should be?Thx???

  • Zen V Plus Keeps Disconnect

Hello all. This is my first post so I hope I provide enough information to acquire a fix for my problem. I have a Creative Zen V Plus - 2GB. Zen V Series Media Explorer (v.5.4.06)?is installed on my computer which is running Windows XP Professional. I have a problem that has recently surfaced that is becoming more and more annoying. When I plug the player into a USB port, it is recognized and the usual window pops up asking me what I would like to do (open with windows explorer, open with creative media explorer, etc.). I usually open with creative's explorer but now it tells me that my player is not compatible. If I close the option window and manually open the Zen V Series Media Explorer, it says I have one device connected, so away I go browsing and adding media to the player. The problem is that the player (device that is recognized) will not stay connected. It may stay for a few minutes, it may disconnect in a few seconds, sometimes during file transfers. I tried re-formatting the player as well as installing the latest firmware upgrade, all to no avail. Someone, please help me!?Cheers. ML?

Hi:-I don't know what to tell you about the disconnect problem, but I can help you with that $#&& window that comes up and asks you what you want to do, open with Windows Media Player, etc. etc. If you scroll all the way down to the bottom of that screen it gives you the option to select "None". If you select that option, it will not come up again when you connect your device. Instead, the Creative Media Explorer will open up and it does not give you that message saying it doesn't recognize your device. The disconnect problem sounds like it might be a loose connection. I would double check my USB connections to make sure they are tight, or even try another USB port to see if that will fix the problem.

  • Zen V Plus - how do i delete (podcasts and mus

Hallo, am newbie to MP3 - bought Zen V Plus v ..0e 4GIG - very happy, small enough to fit into my bra. HOWEVER, disappointed with the manual - all of 6 pages of rubbish and have spent hours trundling through 'Help' without much success. Problem == podcasts downloaded to ....\Desktop\Podcasts are added to existing list already on ZEN. I now have 3 documentaries on ZEN.Question == How do I delete 9 of the 3 i no longer want What have I done to help myself ==a)Spent ages reading bits in Help. b) Done a 'cleanup' but it has not helped c)Have tried fiddling with the Settings in Zencast Organizer followed by Transfer, Sync but to no avail. The Transfer simply adds new podcast to what is already on ZEN with an 'i' if it finds a duplicate. 'Synchronize Manager'
I do not trust as i am not sure whether or not it is doing anything: there is no hour glass or a progress report window so i have no idea what it going on. Left it for two hours but no joy, still added to existing podcasts. Thing is i do not know which files on my laptop it uses to 'sync' with the ZEN either during the transfer or the sync phase. This applies also to CDs copied to ZEN: how/where do i delete one once i get fed up with it's Does anyone know of a class i can join that can actually show me how to use this ZEN thinggy properly There are 3 bits to it: Creative Media Explorer/Creative MediaSource/Zencast Organiser and i am struggling to get to grips with them. Why does it have to be so complicated Would appreciate assistance if this makes sense to someone - thanks Sue

Thanks, reply much appreciated. But under My Computer there are 2 x Creative Zen V Plus folders :Creative Zen V Plus with subfolders Data and Media (with and empty My Playlist subfolder) and Zen V Series Media Explorer with subfolders Creative Zen V Plus (My Zen) and lots of subfolders including a populated My Playlist - populated by my efforts. Confusing or what Moreover, when i plug in the Zen unit, I am invited to use Synch Manager which says "Creative Zen V Plus is ready for synchronisation " --- so WHICH of the two Creative Zen V Plus forlders is it referring to I shall experiment and report back but this may take some time.

  • Fixed a frozen zen v plus.... but now trouble Installing firmw

Ok, first of all, I managed to fix the problem I was having earlier with the frozen zen v. If your player is frozen no matter how you try to manage it:?. reset it (by sticking a pin in the hole below the power?switch) if this fixes your frozen player, then you should be set, but if?it is still frozen proceed to the next step. 2. when turning your player on?again,?hold down the power on button while also holding the play button. When you?see the creative logo, press play again. you will now be in recovery mode.3. go down to the "format all"?option. *note: this will delete all contents of your player, but it will no longer be frozen. Everything should now be working. Ok, now I made the mistake of pressing the "reload firmware" option. I downloaded the firmware that was released this past october on my pc, thinking that it would be less buggy and such. So when I deleted the old firmware, the new firmware does not detect my player and cannot be added. My pc sees the zen v though. After reading a few similar threads with other players, it seems I might need to re-install the old firmware somehow. Anyone know where I can get that? or better yet how to install the new firmware??Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mike, here's the link to where you can download the latest firmware for the V Plus:

  • Zen V Plus Display Doesn't Update Total Number of Fi

    Hi everyone.
I have the Zen V Plus 4 GB unit, and I'm using Vista Home Premium.
I've encountered a problem I haven't been able to solve.
I loaded ,036 audio files onto the unit, using the Media Explorer.
    That worked fine.
I then disconnected the Zen V Plus from my computer, and listened to it for a few minutes.
Then, I hooked it back up and added 55 more tracks to it.
Here's the problem: The display should say of ,09 but it still says of ,036.
The 55 new tracks are definitely loaded on the unit.
Shouldn't the number on the display have increased when I added more files?
Here's what I did after noticing the display didn't change:
I went to the Creative web site and downloaded the MP3 Player Recovery Tool, which basically just updates the firmware.
The firmware on the unit is now .5.03_0.05.09.
Next, I formatted the Zen, hoping the firmware would resolve the issue.
This time, I added only 00 tracks, then tried adding another 00.
Media Explorer said there were 200 tracks on the unit, but the display showed only 00.
So, my next step was to format and start all over again, using the Sync Manager.
    The same problem, again.
Bottom line: Although I can incrementally add music files to the Zen, the display doesn't update.
Is this a known problem? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to overcome it's
(I mean, excluding formatting my computer and reinstalling Vista and the Creative software, which might be my next step.)
    Thank you! J. Danniel

    Thanks for the reply.
I have a tagging program, but I neglected to mention is exclusi'vely use WMA format. That doesn't matter.
There are no duplicate files, because I check that before uploading to the unit.
I've figured out a few ways to solve this problem, though. One way is to create a playlist. The Zen displays the correct file count this way.
Another way is to select files via album, artist, or genre, and THEN go back to All Tracks.

  • Zen Stone Plus S... SLOW-FF speeds...ANYO

I owned a Creative Labs Zen Nano Plus, before my dog used it as a chew toy. I then purchased a Creative Labs Zen Stone Plus S (2GB with speaker), which I love. I clip it in my hardhat at work and listen with the speaker. My old Nano would FF through a 5 hour long mp3 in a couple of minutes. I record the Howard Stern show from a Sirius Satellite Radio Online Subscription and put it on my CL Stone Plus S.
Anyway if I bump the settings and have to go back to the halfway point, it takes FOREVER to FF. The FastForward feature is soooo slow. Is there a fimware update or setting to increase the speed? It dri'ves me absolutely crazy. To get to the third hour of a fi've hour mp3 it takes 45 minutes. Does anyone have any ideas or info?
    Thanks, Mrwirez

) I have a similar yet slightly different problem: on my zen stone plus (with speaker) I can rewind, but when I FF the behaviour is actually the same as if I were pressing the rewind :smileysurprised: Anyone have the same problem? This is really bad for long files, like podcasts and also when I update the player (i.e. adding and removing files) which 'forgets' the previous playstate.

  • Zen Stone Plus Returns to First Track When Recharged???

7Zen Stone Plus Returns to First Track When Recharged?Y Hi Everybody... I had originally posted this question several months ago, but I didn't receive a response.
I didn't see this topic posted on another thread, but I wasn't going to read thousands of posts to get this answer either. My problem is I own two players, one is a Creative Zen Stone and the other is the Zen Stone Plus. My Zen Stone does not return to the first track on the player when I recharge it (it remains on the same track), but the Zen Stone Plus does. This normally wouldn't be a big deal, but my mother-in-law listens to audiobooks. Sometimes those books don't have seperate tracks which means there is a single track that runs for like 6 - 8 hours. Is there a way to allow the player to pick up where it left off? It is a real pain to have to fast forward through most of an audiobook, especially when my player (the less expensi've player) continues where it left off. I haven't seen a download for this, so I'm wondering if it's something that can be fixed or not?

For future benefit to others, I'll answer my own question: No, the Zen Stone Plus should not lose it's place when plugged in for charging or adding files. I just purchased a second Zen Stone Plus, this time the one without the speaker and it remembers track location after charging.
Good thing I'm RMA'ing the first one!

  • Zen Stone Plus FF and Rewind problems

I have a Zen Stone Plus and I upgraded to the new softeware and firmware. I can not use my fast foward or reverse button. It's like I didn't even press them. They don't go foward or back so as I am listening to a book, if I missed something I can scroll back. The up button makes the speaker louder and the down button makes the speaker lower but there is no FF or rewind. Can I have this fixed? Does anyone have a solution?

  • Zen Stone Plus

I just noticed on my new 2gb Zen Stone Plus that only 64 out of the 26 songs show up to be played. This is a serious problem. All of the music was encoded to the same specs. The problem even shows up even when transferring a small number of songs. I added 20 songs and only 8 show up. I used both WMP , Media Lite, and Windows Explorer to transfer the songs. I already tried to use the MP3 recovery tool and saw no difference from before and after.Message Edited by socratesgs on 0-30-20082:05 PM

  • Charging Zen V Plus with travel char

My Zen V Plus charges fine through the USB charger. It will no longer charge on a regular AC (travel) charger which it used to. When I plug in the charger it turns the device on and does not charge. Any help out there. Again, this is new, did charge through charger. Thanks, Bob

This has been discussed a few times on here. If the charger you're using is not a Creative one or a 'modified' standard charger, the player will appear to charge but not actually take any power. The player will turn on and off like it's charging but nothing actually happens. Creative have added a few extra components inside their charger that the player tries to recognise when you connect. Depending on the firmware version you can mod a standard charger quite easily to work with the Zen V+. Do a search for charging problems and you'll see quite a few people have had the same problem.

  • ZEN V Plus sync prob

    Hi all
I have just got a Zen V Plus (8gb) MP3 player. I have installed the relevant software (Creative Media Source 5, ZenCast Organizer, Zen Media Explorer). I am running Windows Vista 32Bit. ?
It is doing everything that I would expect it to, except that it will not sychronize correctly. I can get files onto my MP3 player, but as I use my player mainly for podcasts, it would be extremely helpful if it would sync - both adding new files automatically and deleting old podcasts.
Everything seems to work well, but I get "transfer errors" on all files, and the only details it will provide are "general error". Is there anything I can do to allow the sync manager to work?
    Thanks,
    Ed?

    LysitheaTung,
Would you post up more details on what happened to the Contact us page?
