Zen V Plus and Rati

OK - I've seen a lot of posts from years ago... But is there anything in any new type of firmware that would allow you to rate songs in a Zen V Plus, like every other mp3 player - or somehow note songs you like? Or would that be a possible future firmware that would introduce that? or no?

sometimes i wonder if moderators actually read these threads because fansubs are technically illegal, and thus discussing them is illegal.
anyway, yes, the text will be illegible, as most fansubs are encoded at around 640x480-024x768, and so are the subs. so if you shrink it down to the 60x20 resolution of the screen, they will be about pixel high, if that.

  • Problems running creative zen nano plus and nomad muvo on same compu

We have 2 nomad muvo mp3 players and now a zen nano plus .Have had constant problems with the media organiser .
Installed zen nano plus and selected enable smart fit to get maximum amount of songs and it worked fine but as soon as we tried to install software for the 2 nomad players it would not work smart fit for any of them.
Uninstalled everything and got the zen software in and it was running ok but then seemed to have problems and although smart fit was enabled it just copied files as the original mp3.
It then fatally crashed yesterday and I am awaiting a replacement as I had only had it for 2 days.
Is it possible to run all 3 and to be able to use smart fit on all 3 players or am I better off having just one working and using the file converter for the other 2.

Make sure that you have installed the MediaSource plugin for MuVo in order to get SmartFit You have to access SmartFit via the MuVo node of the Sources window in MediaSource. You won't see SmartFit if you access your MuVo via the My Computer node of the Sources window in MediaSource..
Here is what you should do to get the latest MediaSource software:
    - Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2 from your product download site.
    - (Depending on your firmware)
Download and install the latest Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox plugin 2.00.9 for Creative MediaSource from your product download site.
    or:
Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Plugin for PlaysForSure devices (version .00.8) from your product download site.
    - Download and install the latest Creative MuVo plugin .0.05 for Creative MediaSource from your product download site.
    - Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Plugin for CD Burner 3.0.8 from your product download site.

  • Zen V Plus and USB Connect

Hello everyone. First off... I love the look, feel, and design of the Zen V plus. I'm hoping to eventually get to compliment the actual functionality of it. It has been a long day of hurry up and wait since I sped off to Circuit City early this afternoon for the Zen V plus. I'm just DYING to test it out, but it seems there is a major stumbling block. Let me give you a step by step run down of what has gone on since I can't seem to find a solution in the other posts I've read:
I put the installation disc and successfully installed the software on it.
After installation, I connected the zen v plus to the USB port and it wasn't long before I saw the battery symbol, complete with lightning bolt to show that it was charging. I also noticed that it was "docked", and I saw the USB symbol on the screen of the mp3 player. The button lights were glowing on and off. No problems yet...
I checked to see if you could sync songs while it charged - and it didn't recognize the player.
Around the 4 hour later mark, it DID recognize the player, and allowed me to rip and sync my Maroon 5 CD. I decided to leave and let it charge fully before making any other attempts.
I come home, and the mp3 player has been charging for approximately 6.5 hours. The lights are no longer flashing, and it has appeared to shut off, which I assumed meant it was done charging.
I unplug - attempt to turn on - and nothing. It's dead. Now...it's not being recognized at all.
I'm not good with electronics really, and never pretended to be, but something tells me the USB connection is weird. My brother owns a PSP - and sometimes it doesn't want to read *his* device either. I'm wondering if perhaps it did recognize the device long enough to give me confidence that it was charging, and then lost the usb connection at some point. (It's highly doubtful that my pc went into any sort of sleep/power save mode because there is almost always someone on the computer here.)
For what it's worth, I am using WMP 0, Windows XP (service pack 2), and have tried ALL usb ports (front and back) to get some juice into this thing. The computer just won't recognize it now. I plug it in and hit the power button, and it won't show me so much as a sign of life.
    Any suggestions

I had this exact same problem. you should see a little plug on the battery when its connected to the computer, you are seeing a lightning bolt because your V Plus has an old Firmware version on it. Head to the Support->Downloads section and download the latest (..03 I think). This fixed most of the problems I was having.

  • Zen Stone Plus and RhapsodyT

Hi,I see that Rhapsody does not yet list the Zen Stone as a?compatible device with RhapsodyToGo. I have 2 questions. ) does anyone know for sure if it is or not 2) Does Rhapsody have plans to make work? This will detemine if I get one for my wife - since we have RhapsodyToGo?Thanks

Direct copy/paste from the specs page for your player:
    Audio Playback Format:
    ]Audible Format 2 and 3
    MP3 (Up to 320 kbps)<
    WMA (Up to 320 kbps)<
WMA with Windows Media Digital Rights Management (WMDRM) 9
So that would be a "no."
EDIT: [color="#008000">Or perhaps "maybe." Creative is being schizo again on their spec pages. I believe the "with built-in speaker" models are the newest. The specs for the "Zen Stone w/..." are as above. The specs for the "Zen Stone Plus w/..." say it supports Audible 4 (which may or may not be accurate). I assume the non-speaker Zen Stones are the oldest models. If the "Zen Stone w/..." model? doesn't do Audible 4 then I doubt the older models would. Regardless, the question is still open for debate. ?

  • Creative zen v plus and the belkin char

We discovered something that maybe is so obvious to everyone else but maybe not... we bought the belkin charger that works with our zen v plus. HOWEVER please note the usb cables that come with it and then with the zen v plus are NOT interchangeable. We at first assumed the only difference was the belkin cord was longer but the shorter cable that came with our zen v plus does NOT work with the wall charger. It made our zen lights blink on and off and go wierd and not charge at all but thankfully did not damage our player WHEW!

If the purchases you are talking about are DRM-protected files, which is mostly what the iTunes Store sells, they are not compatible with players other than iPod.
All you can do with them is use iTunes to burn them to an *audio CD.* Think how handy it would be to have them on an *audio CD.*
Going forward, do not spend your hard earned money on songs with proprietary DRM protection. There are other online stores, such as amazon.com, that sell the same songs in non-DRM format, which will be compatible with iPod, Zen, or virtually any other player.

  • Creative Zen V Plus and libmtp

First off, for some reason whenever I plug my creative zen in, my laptop assumes this is some sort of photo device.  In additino to that, Amarok won't recognize it.
    When I did mtp-detect:
    Listing raw device(s)
       Found 1 device(s):
       Creative: ZEN V Plus (041e:4152) @ bus 0, dev 15
    Attempting to connect device(s)
    usb_claim_interface(): Device or resource busy
LIBMTP PANIC: Unable to initialize device
Unable to open raw device 0
    OK.
Should I be concerned about the LIBMTP PANICE?

hokasch wrote:However, I have still not found a linux app that transfers album art. Does Banshee copy the album covers? Or does anyone know about another tool? I read amarok1 schould be capable of this, but I can not get it to recognize the zen.
Amarok1 can definitely do this and I think it's probably got the best interface for copying tracks to the player - I only keep amarok1 installed purely for transferring tracks to my player!
danielsoft wrote:wait, does that mean that this player cannot be connected as a generic USB storage device?
My Vision:M can partition part of the harddrive that will mount as a storage device, but that's only for files. Audio and Video is transferred only through MTP which is a pain in the wotsits. I'm not sure about all creative players, but I think the majority are MTP.

  • Zen Nano Plus and audible

Hi, I subscribed to audible. From all MP3 players I have the only one audible manager recognizes is Creative Zen Nano Plus. When I try to transfer to player I get message that my program in format 4, creative supports format 2 and 3. Is there a way to upgrade my software? Thanks

You will not be able to upgrade the player itself to play format 4. It only plays 2 or 3.

  • Zen Nano Plus and N200- the sa

Yesterday I ordered a N200... or a Nano Plus, actually i don't know since the title said Zen Nano Plus, but the pictures and text said N200. Of course I asked support which I was going to get when I ordered and in their reply they said they are the same but with different name... so I don't really know what i'll get tomorrow, but then I guess it won't matter if they are the same with different name... But are they really the same?

    Hello,
Just so you don't make a mistake, the 200 and the Zen Nano Plus were different for me. Both I bought were GB but the software was different on the N-200. I was told NOT to load the N-200 on the Zen Nano Plus. I also bought Notmad software and they said that the ZenNanoPlus would be supported soon.
I mistakenly thought I had to upgrade the firmware to get Audible compatibility. I did not. It was Audible ready out of the box. It was .00.02 from the factory. I got 2 different Creative support people telling me 2 different things...including how to upgrade the firmware with N200. One support said DO NOT do it.
Finally I got someone who said it was audible ready as it is. I tried it and it worked perfectly. So...just check. I am not sure who was right. All I know is I blew one up once trying to upgrade and I am real cautious now. At this time, I would not trade the Zen Nano Plus for anything......except perhaps for a copy of the new firmware for the Zen Touch ! Had to get that in.

  • New Zen V Plus and album a

Does anyone know, whether or not Creatve's new Zen V Plus player displays the album art while playing a song? If not then Creative can keep it as far as I'm concerned.

I don't quite understand Creative's strategy in releasing a gig Zen V, and especially a gig Zen V plus. If it was up to me I would have the Zen V and V plus available in 2, 4, or 6 gigs. The one gig capacity is covered by Nano Plus. Perhaps a more interesting idea would have been to release a 2 gig Nano Plus, and release the V and V Plus in 4 gigs, 6 gigs and 8 gigs capacities. Will Creative soon release a flash memory based mp3 player with at least 2 gigs of storage that uses a AAA battery?
They're supposed to be slimming down their MP3 player product line I think, so I wouldn't expect them to release yet another player. I definitely don't like your idea, some people want a V or V Plus in a lower capacity than 4 GB, if they didn't have lower capacities people might turn to other companies with a similar player in lower capacity (and thus, a lower price).Message Edited by HHS on 06-25-2006 :0 AM

  • Zen V Plus and subtitl

I just purchased a Zen V Plus (4gb) and was hoping to watch anime and Korean dramas on it. However, I read on CNet that "subtitles were uncompromisingly difficult to make out."
I was wondering if this was the case for anyone else with a Zen V Plus.
I haven't opened the product yet and I wanted to confirm this before returning/opening it.
    Thanks.

  • Zen V Plus and ID3v1 and ID3v2 t

I have noticed that my Zen V Plus is prefering the ID3v tags over the ID3v2 tags. While I can remove the ID3v tags all together with some help of some software, shouldn't it prefer the more recent version of the tags?Is there some setting I am missing?I am running the latest firmware...

I used Stamp and mainly edited the year but no doubt about it Stamp has made all those into, " Audio format is not supported". The individual files play fine through Windows Media player. According to Stamp, "Support is provided for both the ID and ID2 tag formats. Future versions of Stamp will support a greater number of fields for ID2, but for the time being the ID2 support will only extend to the same fields present in ID. When tagging files using Stamp, both the ID and ID2 tags will be written". So may be I'll start again. Tony

  • No Player Detected for my Zen V Plus, and I don't have Windows Media Pla

I don't get it, I went to uninstall Windows Media Player , since that is what every one says is the reason my computer isn't recognizing the Zen V Plus, but I don't even have it on my computer. What else can I do? I am not so PC friendly I have to admit, I work on a IMAC at work and just barely tolerate the PC that we have at home. Any suggestions before make a trip to the Apple store and pic up an IMac and IPod?

I bought my daughter the Zen V Plus for her birthday because we were getting tired of the Sony Walkman mp3 player only playing their format (atrac3). It made it hard to get music off the net that was mp3 format. It does not convert well. Anyway, we followed the install directions to the letter. It took all day (over 5 hours) to get this set up and music INTO it.
Turns out, while Windows Media Player transfers music to the player just fine, the Creative Media Source is junk. It does NOT recognize the player so you can not transfer music to the player. The Sync Mangager just wants to add EVERY song in your computer to the player and the Creative Media Explorer doesn't know what to do. I have used Sony Connect, iTunes and Windows Media player. All require program to transfer music. Why does this tiny player need so many programs? Why not one GOOD one to organize, burn, sync? It's like non of these programs can talk to the other one. To use the Media Explorer we had to re-create a playlist we already had in the MediaSource program. Also, I miss the easy - 2 - 3 of the Sony/iTunes/Windows Media Player.
MediaSource requires like 5 steps to organize the music list the way you want it (by song, artist etc). Other programs you just click on the column title and it organizes it just like that.
?I have decided for our own sanity (lost of profanity and tears just trying to get music into the player today) that we would just use Windows Media Player 0 from now on. My only complaint about using Windows Media Payer 0 to organize and transfer music is that I don't know how to make it tell me what is already in the player when I want to add/delete or change the music around.
?Does anyone know what program has to remain on our computer to run the Zen V Plus? Can I remove the dead MediaSource? Will the player still charge without it's?

  • Zen Nano Plus and Real Player Music St

Anyone know how to get .rax files purchased from the Real Music Store to load onto the Nano Plus?

[size="2" face="Comic Sans MS">I have the Real Player Plus version of 0.5, so hopefully your player will have some of the same tools. First, highlight the track you want to convert in Real Player. At the top of the page of your Real Player, click on Tools and you will find Convert Media Format.
