ZEN V Plus : Battery too de

Today when I tried to plug my MP3 player into my Computer for a charge I could not even get the thing to turn to pulsing blue lights for more than a second. It would go blue for a second then turn off. I have tried reseting, and reseting when it is plugged into my computer.
What can I do?

My computer also will not recognize that it is plugged in.
I can't replace the 400+ tracks on it either so it is very important to get it working without removing music.

ok, I will tkae that under consideration. Now I have another battery issue, after fully charging the MP3 player I noticed that the battery life drain rather quickly while it is off. I lost 9% of it's charge from taking it off the charger at midnight and then plugging it into the usb port of my computer the next morning at 10:00am. The clock is turned off so it should not be doing anything for those 0 hours.

• Zen Nano Plus Battery co

I've just broken the battery cover on my Zen Nano Plus and customer support say they haven't got any replacements available. They suggested I did a web search to try and find one!?Does anyone know of an source for the battery covers? I also wondered if contacting support in another region (I'm in the UK and receivedthe reply from European support)? might be worthwhile - or possible. Thanks?Ian

Don't believe the last post about getting a replacement battery door. I bought three?Nano Plus's?about 6 months ago and the tab on one of the battery doors bent and finally broke off. Not only don't they have blue ones anymore, but they want $6 for a door and $6 dollars to put it in the mail. (They don't consider poor design a defect.)Message Edited by jcpny on 09-24-20070:42 PM

• Faulty Creative Zen Nano Plus Battery Co

Hello. I am new in this forum.
I bought a Creative Zen Nano Plus MP3 Player from the IT show in March this year and 3 months later, the tip of the Battery Cover CRACKS and now the Battery Cover cannot be fixed back to the MP3 Player.
Anyone here has SIMILAR EXPERIENCE with me?
I went down to CREATIVE INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS PARK to buy the Battery Cover but was told it was OUT OF STOCK and I need to wait. Does the CREATIVE MARINA SQUARE has a Customer Care Centre where I can purchase the Battery Cover? Hear from anyone in the forum again. Thanks

Yes, this is quite a common occurence on the Nano, Nano Plus and N200 as the catch is very flimsy. The one on the V200 seems sturdier.
An email to Support in your region should do the trick - in Europe they sent me one straight back in the post.

• Zen Nano Plus Battery D

After only a few months of careful use and while always keeping the player in its protecti've case, the locking tab has broken off my battery door. Creative wants me to pay $5 plus shipping for a replacement door. However, if the replacement is the same as the original, then I'm afraid it will just break again. I would be interested in other users' experience with replacement doors and how they have held up. If they are no improvement on the original, then I'll just save my money to put towards a more durable player.

I have received free replacement battery covers for both mine and my son's N200s. I have not used the replacements, preferring instead to use the rubber sleeve to hold the broken covers in place. The replacements are exactly the same as the originals so there is no reason to think that they won't break just as easily. Hold out for free replacements as the reason they break is down to poor design - they are just too flimsy to stand up to being used constantly. PB

• Zen V Plus battery fail to charge. He

So I've had my Zen for a little more than a year. I don't have a working computer anymore so I can't charge it through there. So I went out and got one of those wall chargers that's USB compatible, but it won't charge at all. Sometimes the buttons will flash blue lkike they're supposed to when it's charging, but the screen stays dark and nothing else happens. But most of the time it turns on to where it was in my playlist when the battery last ran out and then immediately starts to shut down, going to the "Low Battery' screen before dying a few painful moments later. So has anybody else had this problem, or can anyone offer me a solution?

Hi Quatro440,
Sorry to hear you are having problems with your zen.
If your getting the message "Low Battery" most of the time, it seems that the battery is no longer holding a charge.
Have you tried connecting the unit to the wall charger and while connected hitting the reset button? You can also try charging the unit on a friends PC via USB and let it sit there for quite sometime just to double check. If the unit is still not behaving correctly after reset/recharge, you can contact our support on this link for further assistance.
Hope this helps,

• Zen Nano Plus - Battery drains very quick

When I first got the unit, the batter would last a really long time. Seemed like more than 2 hrs. In the last 6 months, it's been draining brand new batteries in 4-5 hours. I've tried rechargeable as well as standard batteries. I have the latest firmware.

"When I put in a freshly charged 850Mah battery, the MP3 player shows only 2 bars which doesn't make sense. "
Don't pay attention to the battery gauge when using rechargeables. The battery gauge measures voltage, and rechargeables start out at a lower voltage than alkalines, so having the battery gauge start with two bars when using an nimh battery doesn't seem unreasonable. See what actual run time you get. See what run time you get with an alkaline. Don't worry about how long it takes the battery indicator to drop a bar.

• Zen V Plus won't cha

My Zen V Plus battery won't charge. When I connect it with the USB cable to the computer to charge I get a message in Windows saying "USB Device Not Recongnize". Then when I look at my player the battery symbol cycles between showing the charging symbol and a depleted battery symbol (red with one bar). So what can I do anything to fix this or is my battery toast? I've had this for less than a year.

It should charge without needing any drivers. It would be using the power connectors on the USB port for charging.
Drivers are at?

• Zen V Plus - EXTERMELY URGENT help needed on battery charg

Hi,
I just bought a Zen V Plus 2 days ago. When I charged it for the first time for 6 hours (as instructed in the manual book), it was fine (fully charged in 6 hours). But when I played it, the battery life lasted for only about 7 hours listenning to mp3s (which is lower than it is supposed to be). Then I was told that a Creative Uni'versal Power Adapter will get the V Plus charged faster, and so I bought it. BUT HOW COME I HAVE BEEN CHARGING THE V PLUS USING THE WALL ADAPTER FOR 0 HOURS AND IT IS STILL NOT FULLY CHARGED YET??Please help me, how much longer do I have to wait for my V plus to fully charged? Does my player charging condition above means that my player is faulty? Please advise ideally how long should I charge the player if I use the USB, and if I use the wall adapter, to keep my battery long-lasting?Thank you.

The wall adapter that I bought is the Creative Uni'versal Power Adapter for the Zen Micro (which I believe should also works for Zen V Plus). As I couldn't any longer after that 0 hours, I unplugged it. When later at night, I connect it to my computer, and it showed being fully charged for a few minutes, then flashes back to being in charge. (Is this normal?)?I used the player to listen to an album (about hour 20 minutes) and the battery indicator showed that it used up /5 of the battery life (which I think the battery life is too short). Hopefully someone can advise me what should I do to improve my battery performance?

• Battery Replacement Zen Stone Plus

Li-Poly batteries last approximately 3 years after manufacturing (charged or not). So if your Zen Stone ceases to function and it has not been abused, it'ss likely a dead ? no longer can be charged - battery.
I purchased a battery (actually 3 to meet their $ minimum) from allbattery.com? Polymer Li-Ion Battery 3.7V 240mAh. Order it with NO PCB option. $3.99 each plus shipping. After they arri'ved, I note the brand name is ?Tenergy. Original battery specs from Creative are 280mAh, a nominal difference. Specifications I didn?t have were charging requirements, but I?m happy to report they recharge seemingly identical from the Creative OEM batteries.
<table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0[/img]<tr><td>This battery replacement takes some skill and is, obviously at your own risk. Suggest examining ribbon cable prior to ordering batteries. My unit is a Zen Stone Plus with Speaker.
</td></tr></table>?
BATTERY REPLACEMENT:
Run Exacto knife or small utility knife around sides and end NOT including end opposite display (or you will cut through a ribbon cable) penetrating no more than 0.075 (/6th inch) to split case of Zen Stone. It may be necessary to insert small jeweler?s screwdriver directly at corners to gently pry, releasing positioning studs. If you?re lucky, you won?t break off studs, but if you do, don?t worry they are mostly for alignment purposes.
Lift off control pad (volume up down, fast forward, reverse, center select button) Remove two Phillips screws holding pc board to bottom case and lift edge of pc board with small screwdriver under USB port.
Hinge pc board up with headphone jack on top and lift up battery with screwdriver.
Examine ribbon cable, which is folded around control board and sandwiched between control board and pc mother board. If cable is torn (or cut) you?ll probably have to throw Zen Stone in trash as this cable may be impossible to repair.
Remove white tape from top of battery and unsolder + and ? connectors
Tint ribbon cables with solder (I used a little solder paste to get solder to stick), the solder in wires, paying attention to + and ? terminals. Be very careful not to touch the ribbon cables together or solder on a metal surface.
Cut a piece of electrician tape and wrap around ribbon cables and soldering joints.
You can test your Zen Stone prior to assembly.
Reassemble in reverse order using a pin, tooth pick or small paper clip and clear silicone caulk around edges. Wrap elastics around unit holding upper and lower case together while caulk dries.

• Zen Nano Plus - Used Battery vs. New Battery Prob

I downloaded some WMA files from Walmart.com and successfully transferred them to my Zen Nano Plus. They played fine. But the battery, which was already low on power, died. I switched in a new battery and tried playing WMA files, but they would only play for about three seconds before the mp3 player shut off.
I switched back in the old battery and the WMA files played just fine.
Both the old and new battery play the MP3 files, so there's no problem there.
Is the problem related to voltage or something? Please help.

Known issue, check .
No solution yet, I'm afraid.

• ZEN V PLUS - Depleted Batte

I bought a Creative Zen V Plus (pink version)?for my neice for her birthday on 7-2-2007. She only used it a few times and then it stopped working. Recently I was wondering why i haven't seen her using it so i asked her. She told me that it hasn't been working for a while. So i had her bring it o me to see what the problem is. I am a little familiar with the Creative MP3 players because i have the Zen M 30gb and i also purchased 2 more ZEN M 30gb for my brother and sister and also a Zen V Plus (black and green) for my nephew. So as you can tell i love the Creative brand. I am not sure what is wrong with my neice's Zen V Plus. When i try to turn it on it won't turn on. So i plug it into the computer using the USB cable that it came with. Here is what it does when i connect it to the computer.
1. Blue leds lights up under the play button.
2. Then the blue leds turns off and then turns back on.
3. Then the led flashes again and then my computer detects the mp3 player and ask if i want to sync.
4. I click No for syncing.
5. Then the mp3 screen shows the battery on low with the red chunck on the battery. Then the red chunck turns green and then the battery starts to ncrease to /4 full then half full then 3/4 full then it shows the completely full battery icon/symbol ***All this happens within less than minute.***
6. Then the blue leds turns off and the battery image on the screen disappears.
7. The icon on my computer shows that the mp3 player has been disconnected.
8. I push a button on the mp3 player to see if it is still on. When i do that the full battery icon appears along with the blue leds.
9. I goto the side and turn the player on and then the screen turns on then goes to the docked icon.
0. As i wait a little bit the screen turns off and then the blue leds turns on again and flashes (showing me that it's charging).
. Then after a few seconds of blue led flashing, the leds turns off and stops flashing.
2. I push scroll button again to see if it's still on, and it is.
3. I then goto support page to update the firmware. I follow the processes as stated on?Creative site and completed the update successfully.
4. The player restarts after firmware update, and computer lets you know that update is successful, but it still won't turn on.
5. It does exact same thing as it did before. I repeat steps -2. Same things occur.
6. When i unplug the USB from the mp3 player it turns off immediately. i press the play button with the USB connected to make the screen turn on and then unplugg the USB to see what would happen and it also shuts off immediately.
7. I have also tired letting it stay connected to the USB over night and over the weekend with my computer staying on. Hoping that it might charge up?but still nothing.?I contacted Creative and they gave me a few things to try that i have already tried and still no luck. The last option in that list of things to try was to request a RMA (which basically consists of me paying $25.00 for them to diagnose the problem because i only have the 2months hardware manufactures warranty left) in which i am hesitant to pay for because it seems to be a commmon defect in the ZEN V and ZEN V Plus. I have been reading around and it seems like the problem?might be that?the battery might be on the verge of being dead or is completely depleted. I have read alot about people with similar symptoms with their players and it seems to be very common with the battery.?My neice probably only used it less than 5 times. And its been sitting in her room for months because she didn't know what to do with it because it stopped working. My little nephew's ZEN V Plus i acting up also. He says it's not working again. So I will be taking a look at it sometime this week too. I?tried being as detailed as possible so that u guys can better understand the situation. Hopefully someone knows a fix to this and help me fix it without having to cough up another $25.00 PLUS SHIPPING AND TAX to have then take a look. But i can't resolve the problem within the next week or so then i guess i will have to send it in.
