What can I do?

Try a different USB port on your PC.
If you are connecting through an external USB hub, disconnect it and connect straight to the PC.

  • My Zen V Plus doesn't seem to remember the point in playback if it goes into idle shutd

I have a Zen V Plus, purchased apx 6 months ago. I use it with my I-Mac so also use XNJB .4.6 to manage my music.
I find, specifically if I'm listening to a mix, that if I stop using my player and then return to it that it doesn't remember where I left off.
    Is there anyway around this?
Any help would be appreciated.Message Edited by Timma on 06-30-200703:38 AM

If you power off with the switch while a track is playing, play will resume where you left off.
If the track is paused when power off happens (either by idle time out or using the switch) play resumes at the start of the track.

They must have been talking about a different player such as the Zen Micro which does recharge via the USB port.

  • My Creative Zen Nano Plus doesn't switch

First when I purchased this Mp3-player it worked quite well, but when I tried to change battery when the old one was empty, it didn't work anymore. I can't switch it on. I wonder if it's because of that I tried different battery than the one I get with this Mp3-player when I first purchased it's Does anyone know can I use Philips batteries or must it be duracell? Or does my mp3 player have some kind of different problem? I even tried to call those numbers which gives information about Creative products, but no one answered.Maybe I'll try to call 'em later.

  • Windows doesn't detect Zen V Plus he

I've just purchased the Creative Zen V Plus 4gb for my girlfriend but windows doesn't want to detect it, I have followed the?online suggestions with no?luck. It shows in my device manager but with an exclamation mark next to it, I've tried re-installing the driver with?no luck. I've tried this with media player 0 and just updated to series but am still having the same problem. I think all I need is a driver for this player but the software that came with it is not helping me! I have a ipod which I use on the same usb port and that works fine so why doesn't the Zen work!?
Your help would be very much appreciated.

Did you try to connect your device to Windows Media Player , under "Sync" Did you download and install all latest drivers and software (see below) ZEN V Plus and then Windows Vista 32-bit. http://us.creative.com/support/downl...ype=0&x=27&y=3

  • Computer doesn't not find my new Zen V Plus

Well, I got my new Zen V Plus 8gb yesterday, installed ZEN V Series Media Explorer and Creative MediaSource 5 Organizer (aswell as the drivers for the Zen etc.)
I've charged the player for more than 6 hours, but my computer can't find it, it just doesn't show up, it says "please connect your creative zen to your computer" or somethign similar when I try to use Creative MediaSource 5 Organizer, and ZEN V Series Media Explorer just don't locate it.
I can start the player and browse around in it etc. so it works, my computer just can't locate it, it can recharge it though.
(I'm not having any of these problems with an iPod I have, aswell as a camera etc. so it's not the USB-dri've)
Anyone know what the problem might be?
    My specs:
    Windows XP SP2
    Intel Dualcore 2.4ghz
    3gb RAM
Edit: I've found it in the device manager, but it seems that it thinks it hasn't got any drivers, even though I installed them :S
I've also gone through this: http://ask.americas.creative.com/SRV...e.com,case=9287 but to no avail.

  • Zen V Plus Display Doesn't Update Total Number of Fi

    Hi everyone.
I have the Zen V Plus 4 GB unit, and I'm using Vista Home Premium.
I've encountered a problem I haven't been able to solve.
I loaded ,036 audio files onto the unit, using the Media Explorer.
    That worked fine.
I then disconnected the Zen V Plus from my computer, and listened to it for a few minutes.
Then, I hooked it back up and added 55 more tracks to it.
Here's the problem: The display should say of ,09 but it still says of ,036.
The 55 new tracks are definitely loaded on the unit.
Shouldn't the number on the display have increased when I added more files?
Here's what I did after noticing the display didn't change:
I went to the Creative web site and downloaded the MP3 Player Recovery Tool, which basically just updates the firmware.
The firmware on the unit is now .5.03_0.05.09.
Next, I formatted the Zen, hoping the firmware would resolve the issue.
This time, I added only 00 tracks, then tried adding another 00.
Media Explorer said there were 200 tracks on the unit, but the display showed only 00.
So, my next step was to format and start all over again, using the Sync Manager.
    The same problem, again.
Bottom line: Although I can incrementally add music files to the Zen, the display doesn't update.
Is this a known problem? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to overcome it's
(I mean, excluding formatting my computer and reinstalling Vista and the Creative software, which might be my next step.)
    Thank you! J. Danniel

    Thanks for the reply.
I have a tagging program, but I neglected to mention is exclusi'vely use WMA format. That doesn't matter.
There are no duplicate files, because I check that before uploading to the unit.
I've figured out a few ways to solve this problem, though. One way is to create a playlist. The Zen displays the correct file count this way.
Another way is to select files via album, artist, or genre, and THEN go back to All Tracks.

<SPAN>Just tried to connect a new Zen Nano plus gb to my XP machine. <SPAN>
<SPAN>I can see it in Device Manager (both disk dri'ves and USB) and it says its working properly
    <SPAN>
<SPAN>But, it takes about 5 min to appear on Explore and then it freezes Explore and cant be read.
    <SPAN>
<SPAN>I have installed the Creative Mass storage drivers.
    <SPAN>
<SPAN>I've tried to update the firmware to .3.03 (from .2.03) but no go. It recognized it in recovery mode and sets a driver but the .3.03 install program takes it out of recovery with no changes to the firmware (it keeps searching for a compatible device with no luck)
    <SPAN>
<SPAN>I have also tried different USB ports, checking the power lever (which is OK) and assigning a device letter but Disk Management wont see it until after 5 min and then the device is not available
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN>Very Quirky - any suggestion?
    <SPAN>
<SPAN>I'm about to send it back (very disappointed with Creative Support as I own Jukebox III and just lost my MuVo.

    <SPAN>Thanks in advance,

    <SPAN>Yes, thanks,?
<SPAN><SPAN>I tired that and so many more things (restarting, deleting driver and re-installing, deleting media program, different USB ports, checking power allocations for ports, different cables etc.)
<SPAN>I'm a smart guy (BSEE) and spent about 5 hours trying to get this thing to work and no go - still quirky so I just dropped it off at the Post Office to return to Amazon.
<SPAN>Honestly, it not worth my time to spend 5 hours trying to get it to work after paying good money for it. Poor QC testing, poor firmware, and poor support.
<SPAN>What I don?t understand is why Creative doesn?t admit that these devices have a problem and either recall them or fix them. Look at the number of hits the "Zen Nano Plus Connection Problems " thread has! Over 200 hits.
<SPAN>This is obviously a problem and they have their head in the sand. And it irks me when companies do this; release a product that is faulty and let their customers sort it out.
<SPAN>I suggest a thread that logs the problems with respect to each device.
    <SPAN>Example:
    <SPAN>Thread: Zen Nano Plus Problems:
    <SPAN><SPAN>)<SPAN> <SPAN>connection problems: 493
    <SPAN><SPAN>2)<SPAN> <SPAN>Automatically powering off problems: 327
    <SPAN><SPAN>3)<SPAN> <SPAN>Etc
<SPAN>Each person could add their one occurrence to the running total and someone could sort through and actually find the number of occurrences a problem happens. This can get a company to own up to larger design and QC issues which they shove out the door to boost the bottom line.
<SPAN>But what do I know, I just stumbled upon this site googling ?Zen Nano Plus Connection Problems?
<SPAN>I'm moving on now and thank everyone for their help.
    <SPAN>Best of luck,D

  • Zen V Plus recognized by device manager, but not by Media Explorer/Windows Media Pla

    Hi,
I just got back from Best Buy after buying a Creative Zen V Plus. I installed everything from the CD and plugged in the player, but the Media Explorer doesn't recognize it (even after restarting PC). The Device Manager recognizes it but there's an exclamation mark next to it. The Windows Wizard came up numerous times asking me for permission to connect to the internet and install the driver for me, and after a while I tried doing so but it said it couldn't find anything (I would like to shave that wizard's beard off).
I went through all the stickies in the forum and about 3 different troubleshooting sessions with no luck. I googled it and asked this question on Ask Yahoo!, but no luck yet.
    Here's my PC info:
    Windows XP SP2
    768MB Ram
    Pentium 4 2.8Ghz
USB 2.0 (I tried different ports, the player does seem to be charging as there's a little lightning bolt flashing on top of the battery icon)
I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me out.
    Thanks!

Ok. I checked my version of XP. It is XP Pro, Version 2002, SP2. I checked and already had the 2 hotfixes that were listed as being needed before proceeding. I followed all the steps and changed the registry key on "everyone" as the instructions stated to do. My ZVM is still not recognized by any of the software for transferring or organizing MP3's. My computer still recognizes that it is attached. It still gives me the device icon in the task bar. It still says it's A-ok in the Device Manager. It does everything, except it is not detected by ANY of my music software. <sigh>? Frustration is at its peak for me right now. I really appreciate all of the efforts. I'm at my wits end now. I have done everything you have indicated I should, but am getting the same results. I did purchase an extended warranty from Circuit City where I purchased this last summer. Is that the next step? Do I need to get this replaced?I love this player and really don't want to go through this again. We had to exchange it twice in the first month because it froze up and wouldn't do a thing. This last one has been perfect. I keep it in a leather padded case at all times. It never has the battery drained. It never gets jostled or bumped or dropped or anything that might damage it. When not being played, it stays on my desk in the case.
Thanks so much for any and all help.

  • Zen V Plus - Album

HeyI've already searched for posts with the same problem and read mostly all of them but unfortunately I couldnt find a resolutionSo I decided to open a new thread and hope to find some help here from you guys... So.. I got this creative zen v plus 4gb for some days now and my problem is that the album arts are just mixed up...Well, not clearly mixed up; if a track has got an album art, it works properly, but a lot of them ones without just show up with an (!) album art from another artist...and there really is no smilarity to the song/album names or stuff...and I also didn't put everything in one folder, i got like 5-30 tracks in each folder and 90 % of the folders are organized by artist, in addition to that i actually wouldnt mind a song having got a wrong album art but at least from the same/right artist then... unfortunately that still is not the case...And when I check the ID3-Tags of those songs with wrong album arts, it doesn't show up any album art, so they are not included in the ID3-TagAll in all : Song without Album Art -> gets any album art when i listen to music in the Zen V Plus (-> But Album art is not to find the ID3-Tag)I hope you understood my problem properly I'd really appreciate your help...thank you! • Zen V Plus Keeps Disconnect

Hello all. This is my first post so I hope I provide enough information to acquire a fix for my problem. I have a Creative Zen V Plus - 2GB. Zen V Series Media Explorer (v.5.4.06)?is installed on my computer which is running Windows XP Professional. I have a problem that has recently surfaced that is becoming more and more annoying. When I plug the player into a USB port, it is recognized and the usual window pops up asking me what I would like to do (open with windows explorer, open with creative media explorer, etc.). I usually open with creative's explorer but now it tells me that my player is not compatible. If I close the option window and manually open the Zen V Series Media Explorer, it says I have one device connected, so away I go browsing and adding media to the player. The problem is that the player (device that is recognized) will not stay connected. It may stay for a few minutes, it may disconnect in a few seconds, sometimes during file transfers. I tried re-formatting the player as well as installing the latest firmware upgrade, all to no avail. Someone, please help me!?Cheers. ML?

Hi:-I don't know what to tell you about the disconnect problem, but I can help you with that $#&& window that comes up and asks you what you want to do, open with Windows Media Player, etc. etc. If you scroll all the way down to the bottom of that screen it gives you the option to select "None". If you select that option, it will not come up again when you connect your device. Instead, the Creative Media Explorer will open up and it does not give you that message saying it doesn't recognize your device. The disconnect problem sounds like it might be a loose connection. I would double check my USB connections to make sure they are tight, or even try another USB port to see if that will fix the problem.

  • Zen V Plus 2gb - Space prob

    Hello guys,
Saturday I bought a Zen V Plus 2gb and I installed the software, loaded my Zen and tried to fill it with music.
But suddenly (by about 800mb ~ 80 songs) my Zen froze. I used the reset button and tried to fill it again. My 80 songs were still on it. But my computer didn't recognized it anymore. So I formated my Zen and I upgraded it with new firmware.
Then I filled it again - and it froze again at 800mb and my pc couldn't recognize it anymore, too.
I don't think that it is normal. What can I do? My Zen got 2gb free space but I only can use about 2/5 of it because it freezes. There is no notification like "The disc space is full", it just freezes and I have to format my Zen to use it again.
Without formating I can't fill it with my pc or with the pc of my father. So it can't be a problem of a computer. Even the record function doesn't work. Is my Zen damaged, or is it normal that I can use only 800mb of my 2gb Zen?!
I hope that someone could help me and I excuse me for my bad English :-)
    Bye,
    Lumpi

The st?8GB Zen V Plus I?bought also had this same problem. It would allow me to add?only about 7GB of music before it would freeze and even cleaning up the links from the recovery mode menu would cause a freeze. I called Creative and told them I had read that someone else in this message board?wrote about?the same problem - a "faulty" flash dri've. Creative said they hadn't heard about it and recommended that I return it to where I bought it from and simply replace it. That's what I did and my 2nd 8GB V Plus has been working great.

  • Zen V Plus and USB Connect

Hello everyone. First off... I love the look, feel, and design of the Zen V plus. I'm hoping to eventually get to compliment the actual functionality of it. It has been a long day of hurry up and wait since I sped off to Circuit City early this afternoon for the Zen V plus. I'm just DYING to test it out, but it seems there is a major stumbling block. Let me give you a step by step run down of what has gone on since I can't seem to find a solution in the other posts I've read:
I put the installation disc and successfully installed the software on it.
After installation, I connected the zen v plus to the USB port and it wasn't long before I saw the battery symbol, complete with lightning bolt to show that it was charging. I also noticed that it was "docked", and I saw the USB symbol on the screen of the mp3 player. The button lights were glowing on and off. No problems yet...
I checked to see if you could sync songs while it charged - and it didn't recognize the player.
Around the 4 hour later mark, it DID recognize the player, and allowed me to rip and sync my Maroon 5 CD. I decided to leave and let it charge fully before making any other attempts.
I come home, and the mp3 player has been charging for approximately 6.5 hours. The lights are no longer flashing, and it has appeared to shut off, which I assumed meant it was done charging.
I unplug - attempt to turn on - and nothing. It's dead. Now...it's not being recognized at all.
I'm not good with electronics really, and never pretended to be, but something tells me the USB connection is weird. My brother owns a PSP - and sometimes it doesn't want to read *his* device either. I'm wondering if perhaps it did recognize the device long enough to give me confidence that it was charging, and then lost the usb connection at some point. (It's highly doubtful that my pc went into any sort of sleep/power save mode because there is almost always someone on the computer here.)
For what it's worth, I am using WMP 0, Windows XP (service pack 2), and have tried ALL usb ports (front and back) to get some juice into this thing. The computer just won't recognize it now. I plug it in and hit the power button, and it won't show me so much as a sign of life.
    Any suggestions

I had this exact same problem. you should see a little plug on the battery when its connected to the computer, you are seeing a lightning bolt because your V Plus has an old Firmware version on it. Head to the Support->Downloads section and download the latest (..03 I think). This fixed most of the problems I was having.
