I have searched all over this web pageto try to find help before I posted. I found posting about my player but none had resolutions to the problem.
Have a message on player "play back error"? I?tried to run the recovery tool. The player is plugged in to computer but when running the tool it says I must plug it in. I pressed the reset button. At first it said it was rebuilding library. Nothing. Now it is just flashing and won't allow me to do anything

Try ripping a cd and transfer these songs to the player for playback. This should help you find out if something's wrong with the player or if there is something about those music tracks from Walmart.
Support should be able to assist you further.

  • Zen V plus "unknown error" while transferring tracks - "Player is busy&qu

I recently bought three players, 2 Zen V players ( and 4 Gbyte) and oner Zen V-plus player. I transferred music to the two Zen V player without problems.
When I try to transfer music to the Zen V-plus player, I can only transfer one or two songs and for the rest of the songs I get the message 'Unknown error'. It seems that the player is busy in transferring data, however, the automatic synchronisation is off (I can see that the player is busy because the display on the player shows dotted lines.....not very technical, but I am no expert....)I already installed the installation CD again. Transferring music to the Zen V players still goes without problem...

Unfortunately, I haven't the player right now. Because of this problem, I bring it back to my retailer sooner this afternoon, it will be send back to Creative. I will recover it later.
But I remember that I can transfert WMA DRM files with Windows Explorer (I think I hadn't any problem with any of them) but by this way, the license is not copied and the player can't read the file.
(And I can copy the 4 problematic files on another USB storage device)

  • Zen V Plus isn't work

One day i turned on my Zen V Plus, and it came up with the message "Playback Error" and just froze. I couldn't turn it off or do anything.
So I let the battery die, once i plug it into my computer another thing pops up that says "re building Library" It started to rebuild and then just stop completely?andything that could help me would be appreciated

Another thing i had found out (this should help the guy above)? When i had turned it on after i got the playback error, the library wouldn't load (i had said that)? So i had decided to unplug it from the computer, then wait for the battery to die again, when it did, i pluged it right into the computer it loaded up again and quickly deleted all music from it. Once i did that, i unplugged it, then went back on to upload the same music? The last thing?I know that Rhapsody is compatible with Creative Zen V Plus, and had uploaded music previously. When i went back to upload the same music, i had dragged one song to it. But it wouldn't load up, and my Zen wouldn't stop saying that it was transfering files because i canceled the transfer. I waited 3 hours and still said it. i shut down the entire computer, and it still was transfering something. I unplugged it and it still was flashing, so waited for the battery to die, and then went back on, now rhapsody won't read the Zen. any help with the rhapsody problem will be appreciated?could you email me it [email protected]

  • Zen V plus not recognised by computer and rebuilds library every time it is switched on

My zen V plus has been working ok but just yesterday it stopped being recognised by my computer. It also rebuilds the library every time I switch it on. I wonder if I may have disconnected it prematurely when it was docked and transferring data. I have reset it but no difference. Any suggestions please.

My ZenV plus finally gave up the ghost. Blank screen and wont power up also wont reset . This was a great little player and I got them for the kids too so went and bought myself a new Zev Style 100. I have downloaded the Setup but whereas the V was ajoy to manage on line ( so simple) I cant see how to create and manage playlists with the style . can anyone help? There also seems to be a way of creating playlists on the player itself but so far I have managed to type in and create a playlist title but cant fathom out how to transfer songs into it.
this is all very frustrating . HELP!!

  • Creative Zen V Plus - Seeking your help with "Audio format is not supported" error

    Hi,
I have a problem with my Creative Zen V Plus and am looking for someone to do a quick test to help me. I listen to a lot of MP3 podcasts, so I often rewind, fast forward or set bookmarks inside tracks. When I do those operations in some tracks, I get the error ?Audio format is not supported? when I ?land on certain places in a track (and I am able to reproduce the problem, which happens always at the same place in a particular track).
Here is what I mean by ?land?. For instance, there is a particular track (see the mp3 link below) that whenever I rewind to exactly 35 min 37 seconds, I get the error ?Audio format is not supported? and playback is stopped. If I fast forward to exactly 35 min 37 seconds, I also get the error. If I set a bookmark to exactly 35 min 37 seconds and I then go to that bookmark, I also get the error. But I don?t get the error if I play the track normally without any rewinding or fast forwarding: the track is played and passes the 35 min 37 seconds mark without any error.
Creative Labs customer support wants me to return my player for repair, but I am not sure if the problem is with my player or if the problem would also be present on other Zen V Plus, thus my asking for your help.
I would appreciate if someone of you could try one of my problematic tracks on their player. Here is what you could do to help me:
1- Download and transfer to your Zen V Plus player the following audio file (it'ss a technology podcast and don?t worry, it'ss virus-free, it comes from CNET):
    http://podcast-files.cnet.com/podcas...oud_090808.mp3
2- Go to the 35 min and 37 seconds mark, press PAUSE and set a bookmark there.
3- Go into the Bookmarks menu and go to the bookmark you just set.
4- Do you see the error ?Audio format is not supported?, or the audio plays just fine? If the audio plays just fine, could you tell me what are the first words you hear
when going to that bookmark, just so that I am sure we are indeed doing the same test on each of our side?
5- What firmware version is your player at ?
Thank you very much for any help you could bring me.
    Patrick

    never mind. figured it out!

  • Zen V plus - Frozen Rebuilding Libr

When I disconnected my Zen V plus from my computer, the icon its screen suggested that it was still processing something from the computer. I realized it after I disconnected it because I wasn't ripping, transferring, or synchronizing anything to the Zen, so I didn't know what it was doing. I reset it, and now it says that it is rebuilding the library, but at the very last bit, it seems to have frozen; it's been like that for a while. Is this normal for it, or is there something I can do for it without erasing everything else on the player?

I have the same problem, but the thing is the player is showing the docked picture when connected to the pc, and wont even turn on when not connected to the pc. i am assuming its stuck at the docking picture, and i want to know how to reverse this and get it back so it doesnt believe its docked. my sister is going to kill me please, I need help, any suggestions.

  • Zen Micro Playback Error/exchang

    Helloooo
I have had my zen micro (silver but i wanted an orange one but they didnt have orange so w/e) for about 6 months and I have sent it in twice. I just got a replacement back 2 days ago and already its had issues. This morning, my micro was working just fine until i switched from "random play all" to an album song. The song played for 2 seconds, stopped, and a window popped up saying "Playback Error". I went into rescue mode and went to "clean-up" and then "reboot" and tried it again. The song worked! However, fi've minutes later, i recieve the same message! I hit "clean-up" then "reboot" on the rescue menu again but this time my efforts are in vain, for the message is still there. I leave my micro alone for an hour and try again. It works again! But fi've minutes later, it refuses to play anyting. It is reacting like this to all of my songs by the way.
I was wondering if it was a problem i can fix myself. maybe i need to reload my library? I ave the latest firmware so its not that.
Also, is it possible to either get a refund or at least exchange my zen micro for one of a different color?
    thanks.

If these songs were working fine before then there's some problem with the player. Run through the troubleshooting section "My Zen is not starting properly, or goes into rescue mode, what should I do?" of the FAQ post, although you've tried some of this already.
Creative won't give refunds for players. You'll have to contact where you bought it.

  • Playback error after song plays on Zen Extra 4

I have two Zen Extra 40gb models. Just updated the firmware to the latest version. BIG MISTAKE - now each player flashes a playback error message window after each song is played. It will go on to the next song fine, but the message is annoying.
Creative tech support gave no workable answer. I'm very disappointed. I guess I should have left well enough alone.
Tech support suggested reformat and reload, but I didn't have the problem on either player before firmware update - that should tell creative they have a firmware issue. It's not my MP3 files at fault. They play fine in three different pc's in my home.
Anyone have experienced this same issue, and what was the fix?
    Thanks

I actually think I figured it out. It plays normally if the songs are in the selected music tab. I want to play them in the media library though. But the thing is, I somehow had the option to change the play mode when I was in the Artist list. I don't know how. I'm going to research it more. If anyone knows how to help us please let us know!

  • Creative Zen Micro - Freezes when 'Rebuilding Library', does this spontaneous

I'll make this post short and sweet.
Yes, I have read the FAQ.
I'm just wondering, its happened to me twice now that when i turn on my zen micro, it goes straight to the rebuilding library screen, and when the bar gets to the end it just freezes. Replacing the battery does not help. Only until i attach it to my computer at home does the library finish rebuilding. And no, on both occasions the battery was not dead. I just found out now about recovery mode and disk cleanup.
Now, considering this disk cleanup fixes the problem next time it arrises, why is this problem happening in the first place? How can I avoid it from happening?
I'll probably be returning this product if I'm forced to replace the battery etc each time i want to use it.
    Sorry for my broken english

I have had a very similar problem with my 5GB Zen Micro. I have not added music to the player in weeks but during a cold boot a couple of times a week the player will not start clean, many times hanging at the end of a library rebuild.
The player is always shutdown orderly, though most of the time it's via the 4 hour firmware shutdown included in the ..0 firmware. Each time it hangs I boot to rescue mode, run a clean-up, then reboot. During the reboot it always runs a successful rebuild, so I wonder, why didn't it do that last time and why does it keep acting up when nothing has been added or deleted to the player?
One additional note, sometimes during the boot it will hang with the ZEN screen only partially displayed.
I just deleted the firmware and reloaded ..0. Hopefully this fixes it, but stay tuned for updates...
    Thanks,Doug

  • Zen V Plus, froz

Hey I left my zen v plus, 4 gig, connected to my computer for the whole night because I didn't want to wait for all my songs to download before I went to bed. Anyway, in the morning I disconnected it and started checking out my new song lists to see how things worked out. Everything worked fine untill I went in this folder and then tried to go back to the main menu. Now the screen is frozen, i've tried to power it off and it doesn't work. I also tried to reconnect it to the usb to see if i could control it from the computer or something but when i opened up the zen v plus application for browsing the media it told me that the v plus wasn't connect. I left the thing at home, hoping it dies down and then i can recharge or something but i'm thinking i might have to get a replacement. Has anyone had this problem to? Any suggestions??Also, what is the best procedure to disconnect it from your computer?Message Edited by sniahcire on -27-200606:39 AM

Did _you_ try fixing your buggy firmware so that your customers don't have to reboot their mp3 players? My kids just got Zen V players and they have hung several times in the past two weeks.
How about providing some useful information:
. How do we find out what firmware version we have?
    2. What firmware versions have the hang bug?
    3. When can we expect working software?

  • Zen Micro 'Playback Error' Mess

i'm currently using the beta firmware 2.0.05 and occasionally while playing back songs, i get the message 'playback error'. although i see this message, the song does play without any apparent errors/problems. does anyone know what this error message means?

i have firmware v. .xxx..... and i get that playback error message too, so i investigated and found out it was only for one song. So i decided to just have my friend send me his version of the song and it worked. so i'm guessing its the song thats messed up even though it will work fine on wmp0 or winamp.. etc.

  • Zen stone plus 2gb god **bleep** error

ok i have the 2gb zen stone plus and my problem is it's a.not being recognised by my computer b. it does nothing to play music store files etc c.when it's chargd i turn it on but all i get is the creative logo and nothing else but the small blue light that is supposed to flash on and of stays on fully instead of flashing on and off. does anyone have any ideas to resolve this problem? preferably knowing how to format my player.

So the player will not turn on correctly at all? Have you tried it on another PC to see if it's recognised there, and so you could format it and/or update the firmware. Has the player been working correctly until now, or did you just purchase it's
