Zen V screen completely rui

Last week i put my zen v to charge as usual (via usb). After a couple of hours i came back to listen to it, only to find that there was something wrong with the screen when i turned it on. It was darker than usual, with a red tint and small 'blotches'. I assumed that this woulkd be corrected after rebooting, but this did not prove the case. I tried to kill the battery and recharge it, but that didnt do anything, other than apparently make it worse. The more i listen to it, the darker the screen gets. Now it seems to be at a point where not only is the screen darker, but its 'freezing' previous screens e.g when you go to the menu, you can still faintly see the 'now playing screen' and etc. As far as i am aware i havent done anything out of the ordinary, and the problem onlyt arose after charging it, so i wondered if anyone could help me, as there are no faq's about this.

<font face="Comic Sans MS" color="#9933ff">Hi!<font face="Comic Sans MS" color="#9933ff">?<font face="Comic Sans MS" color="#9933ff">Just wanted to let you know that the same exact thing just happened to the Vision M that I gave my daughter as a Christmas present. She has only had it one week and yesterday she put it to charge and when she turned it on the screen had two big black blotches that?look like?ink spots. We also tried to reset the player, but the screen still has not cleared. I have searched for an answer and have not found any, I hope that you have better luck. We are really disappointed and I am going to send the player back to Amazon.com where I purchased it. Hopefully we can get a new one in exchange. Good luck with yours!

screen completely black, appears on itunes when plugged, powered down but no logo

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Has any of this been tried?

  • How do I make my iMac screen completely black - without sleep or turning it off?

I have somebody sleeping in my office who finds the light from my iMac disturbing, even when it's turned down to the lowest level.
Is there an easy way, just for a few days, to make the screen completely black at night - I don't want it to sleep or to switch it off so I can use it early in the morning remotely.

What you are suggesting, puts the computer to sleep. just what fusbariclation does not want to do. He/she just wants to put the display to sleep.
On my iMac, my Macbook Pro, my Wife's Macbook Air and her Macbook Pro the Control-Shift-Eject just turns off the screen, but the iMac continues to run, which if very important for me, as my iMac is a web server for the rest of my team at work.  I generally hit Control-Shift-Eject as I'm leaving the office every night.
HOWEVER, since the OP (Fustbariclation) wants to access the iMac remotely, and wants the screen to be blacked out during the remote access so it will not disturb the guest in the same room with the iMac, my Control-Shift-Eject does not work for the OP.  I missed that essential tidbit in the original problem description.
Other contributes have come through with working solutions for Fustbariclation

  • Stuck on "Zen Micro" screen... help

When I turn on my Zen Micro, it shows all the normal screens like "creative" and etc. But after the drop of water screen, it goes to the Zen Micro screen and stays stuck there. I've already tried rebooting and disk cleanup and it still does the same thing. Any suggestions?

Have you tried upgrading the firmware or formatting the player?
Note that both option erases all contents on the player.
If both suggestions does not help, it's best to get in touch with support.

    Try this First...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)

  • Zen Touch Screen Prob

I have had my Zen Touch for almost 2 years, and have never had a problem with it until yesterday. The screen is now completely blank. The blue backlight and blue power light still work, as do all of the buttons. It still plays all of my music, but the LCD screen is completely blank so I can't see the song, album title, track time, etc....
I've tried the reset button a few times, turning it off and on, and even plugging it into the charger, all with no success. I'm in the process of running the battery down to see if that helps, but I doubt it will. Anyone face a similar problem or know of a solution? Is it broken for good? Please help!
    Thank you!
    -Jeremy

    Yes,
I've got the same problem. The unit is about a year and a half old now. One day it worked and then poof it didn't.
I sure don't know of a solution at this time. From reading the posts on this forum it sure seems like this is a fairly wide spread problem which has a lot of consumers very upset with the poor quality of this unit. As many people have posted I find it hard to imagine that the cost of getting the unit repaired would be warranted.
Up until this point I was very happy with the unit and because of this both of my children have Creative products (a Micro and a Vision M).
I wonder if we have any makings of a class action suit here?
I can tell you this, if either my daughters or son's unit give less than acceptable lifespan then I will never, ever consider purchasing another Creative product again. Great performing product, very easy to use, lousy lifespan (seem to be pre-programmed to die shortly after warranty - seems to be a common trait of electronics these days).
I'm currently considering the Toshiba MP3 products - looks very nice, hopefully better quality.
Please post any solution to this problem or information regarding getting the unit repaired.

  • Zen Vplus screen probl

i bought a zen vplus a few years back and up until today it was working fine it just got a bit wet and now the screen keeps flickering and wont stay off when it goes to sleep after secs like i set it to. It still goes to sleep but keep coming back on and when i lock it the whole thing greezes up except the music keeps playing but i cant turn it off or pause or do anything unless i reboot it with a paper clip but that doesnt turn it back on it just switches it off and i have to turn it back on normally is there anything i can do to fix this

If your player got wet, it's best to let it sit for a few days to completely dry out before trying to use it. If you use it while it's still wet, it could damage the circuitry I might be too late on this one!

  • ZEN: Blank screen after firmware upd

I updated my 4GB ZEN to .0.05 firmware.
It worked well for a few hours then it just went dark screen, not responding.
I couldn't access the recovery mode and my computer won't detect it.
When I reseted the player, the Creative logo came up and then blank screen, nothing.
Flashing the firmware back to the older version is not an option (tried, my computer won't detect the player)
Neither does the recovery tools (tried, same reason as above)
So I guess the only option I have left is to go to the service center, right?

if you read to other posts with the same problem you see what you need to do to fix it ..... but just for jou the last time??this is what i diid and it works :?To Fix any problems with broken firmware form attempted "playsforsure" firmware updates etc where your pc finds it as a 20mb dri've and it sits in recovery mode and does bugger all:
(fix courtesty of cinderlee in creative forums)
    1. Uninstall all creative software & drivers
    2. Uninstall Media Player and Media Player runtime (will require a reboot for each thing). This is done by going to add/remove programs and uninstalling (this will put your pc back to wmp0).
    3. Re-install the Zen Driver from the creative website and reboot
    4, Plug Zen in.
5, Make sure you have the firmware update ready, run it but don't click the language bit yet), leave the mouse hovering over your language selection.
    6. On the Zen- select "reload OS"
    7. As soon as it flashes up "reload new firmware now via USB" click the language button
    8. Tada, now the pc should find it and allow you to re-load the firmware. (it may take a few attempts)
    9. Once complete, click close and restart the pc. Everything should now be fine.
    0. once you are happy you can re-install WMP and it will work fine.
Cheers!?thanks for ather forums that had bringed me the information

  • Zen Micro, Screen stuck on Creative logo, free

I was jogging recently and my Zen Micro fell off the pants clip i had on. When i picked my micro up off the ground the song i was listening to, was still playing, and played for another minute, before the micro shut off completely. It then would not turn on with the power button. So i removed the battery, and put it back in, and the micro came on, and the 'creative' logo was the only thing on my screen. With the logo on the screen, my micro wouldn't do anything, and just freezes. Anybody know how to resolve this predicament that im in? Or anybody have this happen to them, and know how to fix it's? I would appreciate any help i could get, Thank you in advance!

You can always try removing the battery and seeing if it reboots correctly, after you tried the Rescue Mode options.
The last option before sending the player in would be a firmware update.
    Cheers,
    Jan.

  • Zen XTRA is completely dead after installing the latest firmware 2.10

Hello,?I have tried to install the latest firmware 2.0.03 to my Zen Xtra 60GB mp3 player. The installation process completed about 70%. As I understand, at that point the?new firmware was finally uploaded after a couple of player reboots. The?firmware installer was waiting with a message "Waiting for the player to reboot", and the player rebooted. But the firmware installer was waiting, and waiting... and after an hour I looked at the player and saw that it was not starting up at all. I removed the USB cable, stopped the firmware upgrade process and tried to reboot the player with reset; then I tried to access the recovery menu as described in the FAQ?- but no success. The player shows completely no response to any button presses, the LCD does not even flicker, the hard dri've does not power up - I don't hear it. Nothing happens, even if pressing the play/reset switch for fi've minutes. What's could be the matter? And more importantly, how can I get it working back again? I fear that the warranty has expired by now. Can anyone suggest what to do?I would be grateful for any ideas.

It is puzzling how some people including myself can upgrade thier firmware on thier devices and experience no problems at all during the procedure. Then theres others like yourself who would experience catastrophic events.
Since we all downloaded the firmware from the same place, and?alot of us didn't have any problems, it is?at least safe to say that there isn't anything?wrong?with the new firmware. Or else we'd all problems.
So for these devices that are failing, there must have been already a serious problem with them before the upgrade even started. The symptons just went unnoticed through every day normal use. And are only manifested through a reload/upgrade of firmware. Or something happened on the computer itself, during the transfer of data; auto file scanning virus protection comes to mind, or other programs or services running in the background that were taking up resources needed to make the upgrade go smoothly,?a USB cable with a short in it or a bad USB port. Who knows?!
If the player doesn't even start?up in?rescue mode then theres really nothing as a consumer you can do to fix it. You'd have to just see about getting it repaired, or replace it. I know yours is a 60GB, but?I gotta tell you the new 30GB Zen Vision M is a sweet deal!

  • IPad Mini screen completely bare

I have the iPad Mini and my 19 month son uses it, while he plays with it sometimes the entire screen goes completely blank. I literally have to turn it off, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on. Then all his apps and the screen and pages will appear. Even after I clear off all his played apps, the screen will be blank until I turn it off and turn it back on. It's EXTREMELY ANNOYING and I NEED HELP!

You may want to try a device reset before doing anything else. It's known to correct very odd issues and may help in your case.
    Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
    1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
    2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
    3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.

  • IPhoto messes up the screen completely

Alright, so I've got the weirdest problem with iPhoto. I'm on an 2007 iMac, running the latest version of everything (iPhoto Version 9.6, OS X ). I usually use my 2011 MacBook for picture editing cause it's faster, but I wanted to view some photos on the bigger (20 inch) screen. I started it up, only running iTunes in the background, deleted some old photos first, and when I tried to right-click my photostream to import it into my library, the screen suddenly started to mess completely up. Bars, black squares, static everywhere. Mouse kept being displayed normally, but moving windows or triggering the dock did not do much, despite bringing more messed-up-ness onto my screen. Only solution to it was rebooting (or logging out, which was not that easy given I couldn't read anything from the pop-up that comes up after clicking the apple-logo at the top left corner of the screen, and logging back in), closing iPhoto did not help a bit.
I narrowed it down to this:
    - It happens after several minutes without doing anything, just by having iPhoto up (and nothing else, having something else open does not change anything).
    - It happens immediately when iTunes is running and right-clicking something in iPhoto.
    - It happens faster when actively doing something with iPhoto even without iTunes running.
Does anyone have ANY idea what this could be? The OS is a fresh install on a wiped hard drive, so it can't be an old installation of anything messing this up somehow. Problem does, of course, not occur on my MacBook Pro, and I could not find anything online about this.
    HALP
Edit: Oh, and screenshots taken while the messed-up-ness happens are completely empty (transparent).

Boot into the Recovery volume (boot with the Command + R keys held down), select Disk Utility and repair the disk and disk permissions. Reboot and try again. It's a long shot but worth a try.
You might try running the Apple Hardware Test to see if it can detect any issues with the hard drive or video card.  Run it several times in a row. OS X Yosemite: Use Apple Diagnostics or Apple Hardware Test
Any other apps trigger it?  Like iMovie or Quicktime Player?  That might help point you to the graphics card.

  • Nomad jukebox zen replacement screen???

hi folks i am in extreme need of help and advice.
I recently bought a 60 gb nomad jukebox zen second hand from ebay. As it was second hand I have no warranty. After around a week I somehow cracked the screen? There is now no display whatsoever. I can still listen to music for now but I have no display - the blue light comes on but no black text? As I have no warranty I cannot email creative to ask what I can do about it's I asked at a local electrical shop and they said that I should contact creative and they'll help me. Can I buy a replacement screen? can I send the unit to creative and they'll fit a new screen? I am situated in Aberdeen so I'll have to go through creative in the united kingdom?
I really don't know what to do so would really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction?
    cheers

Creative will still repair the player, but it's likely to be expensi've. You can't buy the screen as a spare though, you'd have to cannibalise it from another player.

  • Adobe Flash Player Installer Screen completely black

When trying to install Adobe Flash Player, Mac 10.10.2, Safari 8.0.4, the Adobe Flash Player Installer page and popup screens are completely black and not accessible.

    A) The screenshot didn't work. It's not complex to visualize. Just imagine a window in the app "Install Adobe Flash Player" which has the words Adobe Flash Player Installer in the top most horizontal section, on the same level as the Mac Red and Yellow circles. Then imagine that everything below that level is completely black. That's what it looks like.
    B) When I went to Installation problems | Mac, and hit "
Flash Player for Safari and Firefox - NPAPI
then I get a Safari tab http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_osx.dmg. The entire window area below the tab line is also completely black. Plus there is a pop-up that says "Plug-in blocked for this website"
