[ZEN V] Sync manager detects the player, firmware upgrade don

Hello, I've got a Creative ZEN V and I've delete the firmware from the recovery menu to reload new firmware. The syncmanager and the other creative products detects the player. When I'm running the program which installs the new firmware the program said: 'Your player is not connected'. But the player is connect! I can see the player on the windows device manager, and the sync manager. But the firmware tool doesn't see the player! My configuration:Windows XP SP2Media player 0 Creative has got a tool called 'MP3 recovery tool', this program downloads the correct firmware for your device, the recovery tool detects my ZEN V and download the correct firmware, after downloading the firmware install tool is running. And said also: 'Your player is not detect', it is strange the recovery tool detects the player and the firmware update don't! Please help me!

My God! Why Creative messed up like this with there software. Actually i was always happy but this...
I could install the firmware (2.0 - and without the steps descriped before i couldnt even do that) but still the player is shown in the file explorer, but no software will synchron or recognices the player.
Ohh, so many hours for nothing. But if I'll get news from creative - i will post.

  • Zen Touch: Importing Playlists to the player with new firmware?/ Where do I get MediaSourc

    Hello!
I have a problem with my Creative Zen Touch. I have updated the firmware of the Player to 2.., the new one which causes many trouble. The trouble is that I can throw my music via plug and play on the Player, but just with the Media Explorer for Play-for-Sure-Devices and with the Windows Media Player 0.
With this programs it works quite fine, but I cannnot import playlists to the player, just the plain files. With the Media Explorer for Play-for-Sure-Devices I cant even select the Playlists and with the Windows Media Player the files just get loaded onto the player, but it does not import the playlist into the playlist-screen in the media-library in my Zen Touch.
Before the stupid firmware-update came out, I used the Creative MediaSource-software, this worked quite well, because I also could import my Windows-Media-Player-Playlists and this was great. But now it does not work anymore. The problem with MediaSource is that after the firmware-update it does not recognize that my Zen Touch is connected with the PC. That is the reason why I cannot use this software to drag my music onto the Zen Touch.
I tried to update my MediaSource via Internet via the auto-update-tool. Now I have mediaSource 3.30.2 but it still does not work. In this forum I read that there is a version 5 avaiable but where can I get it's Would it actually solve the recognizing-problem
Are there maybe other possibilities to solve this problem
    I really need your help!
    Thank you,
    your Dridge from Germany

OK, now I have found the MediaSource5-Software and I have downloaded and installed it. In the startpage there is at the end of the box "transfer playlist" but if I click on it, it says, that my Zen Touch is not connected. Overall the new MediaSource does not recognize my player, like the version 3 did too. But other software is recognizing that the Zen Touch is connected with the PC, like the Windows Media Player 0 or the Media Explorer for PlaysForSure-Devices.
    Please help me!

  • ZEN 8GB SYNC MANAGER--Syncs ALL TRACKS or NO TRACKS

Using Sync Manager with my ZEN Vision:M I can sync SPECIFIED Playlists and Tracks from my Creative Media Organizer PC Library to my player.
However, with my new ZEN 8GB the Sync Manager offers only 2 choices: EITHER Sync ALL my Tracks to the Player OR Sync ALL my Tracks AND ALL my Playlists to the Player.
How can I Sync ONLY SPECIFIED Playlists from my PC Library to my ZEN 8GB player

more clarification:?I can sync the first 662 songs in my media library without problems. that's 3.8GB or so. once I hit that mark, nothing else syncs and the player freezes with that spinny icon telling me it's syncing. I can delete albums/songs, but I can't add anything else without completely reformatting the player, which is clearly pointless. any similar problems/suggestions? anyone?

  • Zen Micro hangs inconsistently...will firmware upgrade he

Hi all, hope someone can help or offer insight on this. I picked up a 6 gig mico..love it. But do not love the inconsistencies that have been happening. For example, it works fine all morning. Two hours later I turn it on and it hangs at the creative screen. I clean and reboot and its fine. Next morning it hangs again, clean and reboot..then its fine again, later in the day..same thing. This has been happening quite a few times a week. Would upgrading the firmware be of any help?...this was a refurb that I probably should have sent back and got another..unfortunately it is past the 30 days... any opinions?.. I cant understand if it is working it should work all the time. Could it be the battery? I have seen it does lose it charge rather quickly -more than it should. And I have been extra gentle, seeing how this is a disc player!
    thanks for any response!

I feel for you bro i had this same BS problem only a few days ago. I must have spent about 5 hours in total trying to fix it and this included perusing these forums for an answer of which none of the 'solutions' worked, i tried using it on other PC's of which none of them it worked. Tried sw reinstallations, SP/2 reinstallations/removals, hardware changes to USB blah blah nothing worked and its's not like i don't know jack about computers because I do.
Your even lucky because in my case all that was required was the latest FW upgrade to make my player COMPLETELY UNRECOGIZABLE by both the FW installation program and WMP0 hence I couldn;t even downgrade.... I removed the FW thinkin it was corrupt as exactly what you did but because of Creatives wonderful TQM I couldn't even put different FW on.
In the end I just sent it back for a return but now I'm kinda regretting doing so as reading these forums shows that there are 0 issues with this player that Creative simply overlooked and sooner or later I might get with one of them (headphones anyone?!). If the next one is a dud I may wait for the new iRi'ver h0 or somrthing.

  • Has the cloud firmware upgrade being fixed yet?

I am looking to buy a new router (E3200 or greater)
All the reviews are complaining about that specific firmware upgrade that users` have been forced to with the cloud thing.
    Is this still in place/happening?

This issue was clarified in this site: http://blogs.cisco.com/home/update-answering-our-customers-questions-about-cisco-connect-cloud-2/. These are the items tackled in that blog: Linksys customers are not required to sign-up for the Cisco Connect Cloud service and they are able to opt-out of signing up for an account, Customers can set-up and manage their Linksys router without signing up for a Cisco Connect Cloud account, Cisco will not arbitrarily disconnect customers from the Cisco Connect Cloud service based on how they are using the Internet, Cisco Linksys routers are not used to collect information about Internet usage, Cisco only retains information that is necessary to sign up for and support the Cisco Connect Cloud service , Cisco will not push software updates to customers’ Linksys routers when the auto-update setting is turned off.

  • Problems with the latest firmware upgrade

I found a problem with the 01-10-2006 firmware upgrade. Now that it is inside my ipod certain videos don't play properly anymore. Actually the video starts, it plays normally for a while and then it goes still for a few seconds and then, when it plays again, the audio is gone.
It always happens in the same point with the same video. In particular, just in case someone wants to try, it happens in the latest nasa video podcast.
I don't know what to do!
I'll try to step back to the 1.0 version...

I'm having this problem as well. Sinse I updated the firmware all of my movies get stuck about every 10 seconds then if I wait a few seconds they start up again but with no audio. I'm quite certain that this is a problem with the firmware sinse the videos play fine on quicktime, they used to play fine in my ipod before I updated it, and I can get it to play the parts it gets stuck at if I rewind it but it happens very frequently and each time takes a while to reload. If anyone has found a way to solve this problem please let us know.

  • When is the HomeFusion firmware upgrade and higher datacaps coming??

Was told that end of February that the firmware upgrade to correct the daily disconnects with the HomeFusion hardware was going to be rolled out. Nothing as of yet.
Also want at least 50GB of data for the $120 per month package. There's no way 30GB will ever be enough for a family of 4 in a 1 month billing cycle. Hell even 50GB would barely cover it.
Time to end the illusion that datacaps are in place for network congestion and that it's all about screwing the customer out of more money. A residential LTE connection should not cost anyone $120 plus taxes and fees and another $100 for the 10GB in overages on a ridiculous low amount of data allowance.

I think 150 GB/month where we should be at for $120.00/ month. I mean a fixed lte home service . 50 GB for $90/ month and the $60/ month plan should be 30 GB ill keep dreaming  lol.
P.S. I called yesterday about the firmware now its planned for mid march this does suck.

  • --- Petition to put the support of TXT-files on the next firmware upgrade (Zen Xtra, Touch, Mic

What do you think about creating TXT-files support in newer versions of firmware? I suppose it can be great! Imagine: you can store books (HDD! What am I talkin' about? You can store a great library on your player!), song lyrics and more!Message Edited by AL_exe on 0-30-2005 02:24 AMMessage Edited by AL_exe on 02-03-2005 05:55 PMMessage Edited by AL_exe on 02-08-2005 2:3 AMMessage Edited by AL_exe on 02-08-2005 2:33 AM

  • Guys, the playlists I created on iTunes do not show up in the Sync options for the iPod. I don't understand why not.

It only shows me the Generic Playlists but not mine.
    Please help, Thank you.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say that the wireless devices are not  visible in AirPort Utility.
Open AirPort Utility - Click Manual Setup
Click on Wireless Clients (3rd line from the bottom) and a window will open to display the AirPort ID of each connected device.
I'm also not sure what you mean by "manage". Once a wireless device is connected to the network, you cannot "disconnect" it from the network using AirPort Utility. AirPort Utility only monitors the connection.
Using the Timed Access feature in AirPort Utility, it is possible to assign daily time limits for each device that is allowed to connect to the wireless network.
So, for example, one iPod would be allowed daily access from 8AM to 11 PM. The iPod would not be allowed to connect between 11:01 PM and 7:59 AM in this example.
You can set up different time limits for each device that you want to allow to connect to the wireless network in similar fashion.

  • Had a problem with the last firmware upgrade and now have a delayed startup

I made the mistake of doing the firmware flash while the MBP was docked. I don't thing it was successful although it shows the right number. My startup time is about two minutes which is unusual as it used to be super fast (using an SSD). Any ideas?

See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different methods and software available to assist you with the task of copying content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.

  • Zen Micro Firmware Upgrade 1.01.03: Problems when Downloading and Installing the Upgr

Yesterday I downloaded the new firmware upgrade .0.03 to my computer without problems. I then attempted to open the upgrade and initiate transfer to my Zen Micro unit through my USB 2.0 cable. I kept getting a dialog box, informing me that there was an interference problem... So I shut down my Norton anti-virus and my Zone Alarm firewall, and tried again, and again, and again. I was unable to initiate the transfer program...
I was about to contact you this evening for advice, but I decided to first switch my USB cable to another connector and try one more time. Surprise! It worked... A rather long connection, but the upgrade is now in my Zen Micro unit, just where it's needed...
I've had my USB cable connected to what I believe is a USB 2.0 connection on my computer, and I often see the "not connected" dialog box. Each time this happens, I disconnect the cable from the Zen Micro unit, then reconnect it... Bells and whisltes sound, and I'm connected again, until a few minutes later I get the "not connected" dialog box yet again... Is this a normal procedure?
Now, tonight I plugged the USB cable into what I've always considered to be a slower USB connection point... Mybe that's why the transfer took so long? But it stays connected indefinitely... no "not connected" dialog box.
I've been having other transfer problems through the USB 2.00 connection point. I downloaded 23 tracks to my Zen Micro yesterday afternoon, and three of the tracks didn't make it... Frustrating as hell...
I'd appreciate any comments from my peers, since everyone here has more experience than me...
    kooch

    koochiching,
Try turning off the Media Sniffer feature from MediaSource and try updating the firmware again.

  • Zen isn't being detected. Please h

My computer's acting up and not detecting my Zen Vision M. I've tried all the remedies on the forum and nothing seems to work. Tried enabling it through the device manager, reinstalling all of the creative software, and resetting my computer. I'm running XP SP2.
I got the Zen because it was different. Drag and drop, nice interface, and not an ipod. I had no idea that it was so buggy, though. Creative Labs has their work cut out for them.

I had the same exact problem with my Zen VM 30 that I purchased in November. One day I hooked it up and the computer didn't recognize my player. In the Device Manager, I would see it under "Unknown Device". I spent countless hours trouble shooting it and on the phone with the Tech people. I tried downloading the lastest firmware, but that didn't work as the computer doesn't recognize the device and you can only go so far. I finally ended up sending the player back, since it was still under warranty. They sent me a new player and I had the same problem. But this time...the Device Manager detected the Zen versus unknown device. However, it has a yellow warning next to the device. When I tried updating the drivers, I kept getting an error message regarding the INF file error. I searched this forum and read this thread. I downloaded the?correct INF file and with in minutes I was back in business...the player finally worked. I'm not exactly sure what your player issues are, but here's the link to that thread:?http://forums.creative.com/creativel...ssage.id=64233?Good luck. I know this it time-consuming and extremely annoying for a new device.
