ZEN V with WINDOWS2000 and Pentium II

Hi,
my aunt want to buy the ZEN V 2 GB but I read that the minimum
system requirements are Windows XP and Pentium 3 CPU.
Does ZEN work with Windows 2000 and Pentium 2 CPU too ?

Zen V Minimum System Requirements
Microsoft? Windows? XP (Service Pack or higher) / XP 64-bit
The Zen V isn't designed to work with older versions of Windows, even though Win2K is an excellent operating system.
You may be able to find a work-around in this thread

if u have the playsforsure firmware installed on your zen micro, can you still use the removable disk function on computers without windows xp. also, can you still charge it on computer without windows xp?

If you have the PlayForSure firmware, yes you can still use the Removable Disk feature of the player and it's also a yes for charging. Just make sure you slide the power switch to Lock position when you're charging.

I'm thinking on buying a Zen, but i'm a bit confused on the issue of if is it better to buy a Zen with 4Gb or a Zen with 2Gb and a SD card with 4Gb, because the diference on the pricefrom the 2Gb to the 4Gb fits a SD card with 4Gb, and will result in a Zen with 6Gb...
Does the zen works fine with the reading times of the SD cards? Or does the performance drops when reading from the card?
I would apreciate your experience/knowing opinions.

Zen Micro with PC connection Problems and no firmw

I'm running on Windows XP Service Pack 2 and I have Windows Media Player 0.
...and my Zen Micro wouldn't be detected, so I formatted it completely and I tried reloading the firmware. My old Zen Micro with v firmware still connects perfectly well, but Windows just doesn't detect my v2 firmware (now no firmware) Zen Micro.
Advice, please?

Windows DOES detect my Zen Micro now...but I still can't do anything with it. It appears as MTP player connected:

Check this Knowledgebase article SID0053 and make sure the USB registry entry is correct. If you do make changes to the registry base on the Knowledgebase info, then try reloading the v2 firmware again.

Problem with Zen X-Fi 8Gb and Earpho

Hi All
I've got a problem with my new Zen X-Fi 8Gb and my Bose In-ear earphones.
While I'm listening to the music, if I increase the volume level, everything goes right till I reach 20.
If I overcome this level I can hear just one channel of my earphones. When I reach the maximum volume (25) I can't listen to the music (because audio comes and goes), music is intermittent. For sure the earphones works proprely.
Can anybody tell me what I could do?

No because I set to off every feature such as equalizator, bass boost, smart volume and limitation and also x-fi crystalizer and expand.
X-Fi works fine if I use crati've's earphones... I've tryed Senneheser's neckband headphones and everything goes right... There is this problem only with Bose...

Zen mirco truble with wmp10 and 11 ... please Help me

I have find a Zen Micro 5 gb with firmware 2.2 ; but i have more and more truble with it !! I have more problem to transfert the music in because my pc not find the mp3 correctely :i have 2 pc : the first whit wmp and windows xp prof. find the creative zen micro whe i plug it in instal the driver; then when the dirver are installed if find again a new device and install again the drvier.. this neverending loop !! and i cannot use the player !! the second with wmp0 and windows xp prof. find the mtd device always but in the computer reurce it isn't find ! and also the creative or Windows mediasurce tell me the the device is not plugged !! but in the computer pannel i can find that the mtd device is on !!! i need to plugged off and plugget on the zen mirco more and more time for to have or 2 time the correct finding but only for a little cuple of minutes... whot i can do Message Edited by albysub on 2-27-20072:0 AM

Login issues with zen 11.2.4MU1 and laptops

Hello,
We have been having issues all school year with laptops and logging in. They will get the log in screen to log in to the realm, or they will get the windows log in screen (like they did not have the dlu policy). I have every one up to 11.2.4.MU1 and am still having issues. When I go to the message log in the zenworks control panel for the device, I get the following errors:
"Could not download content for bundle, Windows Group Policy, because the ZENworks Server is not accessible."
I only get this on the laptops, so this has to be something with the way this is working with our wireless. There is no rhyme or reason that I can see as to when this happens. The only things I can tell you is:
1. This happens only on the laptops connecting with wifi
2. Usually happens when the laptop is first booted up.
3. The laptops are assigned a dlu user policy. This policy creates a user (GSStudent). This user is volatile and is cached for 1 day. This users is also a local machine administrator.
4. We have a separate nss volume that the content repo directory sits on ( I am not sure if this is causing the issues or not, I read somewhere there were problems with this).
5. Logging in as a local user and running zac cc temporarily fixes the issue.
I am at a loss here and am looking for some type of guidance that would point me to the solution. Any help would be appreciated!

Micro Zen | problem with the output "ho

Hello.
For a few weeks now the contact in the output "hole" get worse and worse. When i plug in my earphones and only touch and bend the plug a little bit in direction to the screen, the sounds gets all numb,quiet and sometimes i hear nothing. It turned that worse that i can't have the Zen in my pockets anymore, cuz the cable bends and so the sounds goes all quiet...
I think it's a warranty subject, what do I have to do to send it in? I had a problem last july with it already and sent it in, but forgot the procedure it goes through
Oh and I also handed it in to my local shop where i bought the Zen in 2005 because of a hardware issue and they got me a new one from creative (so they handled the whole RMA procedure).
So what am I gonna do now? I bought the Zen in july 2005 and Creative already knows that because of the first RMA ^_^

Before you do anything. Which headphones are you using? Are you using a case?
My case fits around the hole perfectly so if the plug of the headphones is to thick like my Sony MDR-V50 (http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000092YPR.0.LZZZZZZZ.jpg) it will play.. but if I move the wire around just a bit only the left side of the headphones will work. So I have to use the earbuds that came with my MicroPhoto.. a shame to cause headphones sound so much nicer then earbuds.. oh well. Try a different pair of headphones/earbuds.

Creative Zen stone with speaker not recognized by Vista 32

My creative zen stone with speaker is not recognized by computer. Downloaded starter pack and it worked, but the first time i disconnected it and connected again, the device is not in "my computer". It is listed as working properly under "safely remove hardware". Uninstalled drivers, and connected again, driver was installed and I am told the device is ready to be used, but it is still no where to be seen, and update tools etc. also does not recognize connected device.

Try going into "Control Panel->Administrati've tools" and clicking on "Computer Management". Find "disk management" in the left pane and click it. Your Stone should be in the right somewhere. I think you need to right click, then "choose dri've letter and paths" and give it a dri've letter with the "add" button. Let us know if that works.

Zen V not recognized and unknown error transf

Hello,
This is my third Zen during the past two years, and none of them seem to work for at least one week. I bought a Zen V 4GB and have had it for two days and it is already not functioning correctly. I noticed that my songs would be transferred, but everytime I tried to transfer pictures, they just wouldn't. The reason it would give was "unknown error". I decided to download every update I could find for the Zen V (firmware, media source, etc), but the updates wouldn't finish installing correctly (the Zen would freeze after reboot, etc). I had to format the Zen and then install everything all over again, after that, the updates managed to install correctly. Afterwards, I successfully transferred pictures. I turned off the Zen, and when I later tried to transfer music, the unknown error message would appear again, and also other error messages such as "insufficient disk space", which was impossible because I had only transferred 68 pictures. I formated the Zen V once again, and gave it a "reload firmware". I managed to transfer some pictures and music afterwards, but, as soon as I disconnected the player, and connected it again to transfer more stuff, the error messages appeared again. As my patience was wearing thinner by the second, I disconnected the player, and connected it again. Now, the computer doesn't recognize it at all. The Zen V appears to be docked, though it sometimes appear as if it were charging and sometimes it doesn't, but still the computer doesn't recognize it. It says that the player isn't connected. I did notice that on my taskbar, the icon of "Safely Remove Hardware" began to appear. I double clicked it, thinking that the computer was recognizing the?player as a mass storage device, but there were no devices or components displayed on the window.
I really don't know what to do anymore, and I'm tired of having to format it, just so that it'll work correctly once. I don't know if I'm not doing something right, or whatever it is. I just feel very dissapointed. These problems were very similar to?the ones my other Zens (I had?a Zen Micro and Zen MicroPhoto before). Creative just keeps coming up with great innovati've products, but the same problems appear in?every one of them, what's up with that?I really need help with this... Any suggestions? Thank you.

!!! Now my Zen will not turn on. How is a 2 child supposed to use this if her mom can't? I am not the only one experiences problems, my daughters friend also got one and her dad took it back to the store 2 times before he got one that actually worked. I have called customer service and after spending over an hour on the long distance phone call they were unable to help me and I eventually figured it out myself only to have it tell me the device was not connected IN THE MIDDLE OF DOWNLOADING!!

Zen Extra 60GB - errors and questi

I recently purchased the Zen Jukebox Extra after running out of room on my iRi'ver 20GB. I loved the iRi'ver, but needed more storage. I notcied that on several ocassions after not using the Zen for a few days, I would power it up and it would go to the "rebuilding music library screen". After that, much of the music I had loaded onto the player wasn't showing up. I re-transferred the music, the songs showed up, but there was much less hard disc space than there should have been. I finally did a reset, and in some cases there were three copies of songs. I went through and manually deleted the duplicates through the organizer, but the player still ocassionally goes through the ""rebuilding" stage when I power it up.
My other concern is, can I use any other software to create playlists? I loved being able to create a playlist in WinAmp for the iRi'ver, but I don't seem to be able to do it with the Zen. I want to be able to add songs to the playlist, randomize them and then save it. I don't see any way to do this witth thye Zen. I have to manually move the songs around. If I can't solve these concerns, I will probably sell the Zen, bite the bullet and buy an iPod 60. Thanks in advance for any ti

tried the realplayer today and worked great. you can make a smart playlist transfer it then change the playlist on the pc and retransfer it.

ZEN - 20gb..Problems and difficult

Hi everyone,
i just gotten the black 20gb ZEN, not the TOUCH but the bigger size bunny of ZEN micro. Just wondering whether there is anyone out there facing problems with this so far no frills mp3 player.
my first problem with the ZEN was it being not able ot display chinese characters, but that was solved using the sync function in my Win Media 0 Player. but now i have a problem of extracting my recordings of my lectures i have in my ZEN to my PC and archiving it. As a student in Uni, i do forsee that i would be recoridng lots of my lectures (gives me zzz-ing time), so is there any way to extract out the wav file? thanks!
So far, Zen has been a really good mp3 machine, no frills interface and really simple to use...but i guess like any piece of godo machine, there are certain problems, any to highlight? maybe we can solve them and share our solutions here...

You have to use the Mediasource or Media Explorer to transfer files out of the player to the computer as described by Mattan. You can't use WMP0 to do that.

Can i use my Creative Zen Touch with my Xbox 360

You can use the Zen Touch with the Xbox 360, but you would have to update the firmware on the player to an MTP (2.x) firmware. This will slightly change the way the player works on the PC. For more information on MTP, check this knowledgebase article.

Zen M100 with 1 day of use no longer works

*Zen M00 with day of use no longer works. After a few hours leave it's plugged into the USB, I realized that it's was abnormal screen. I tried to unplug it from USB by Windows but it still fails. After removing it from the USB and tried calling then turn off the phone, but he would not answer. So I left the option of resetting it. But the reset also did not generate any results, only resulted in a momentary change in brightness on your display. ZEN M00 I tried to call several times, tried to reset several times and have not had any results. The only thing I could find was a logo with the name of Lyra and the message to boot, but it is very difficult to identify what is written because it is very difficult to read. What is happening? is there any solution? Please help me
