Zen vision m 60 gb is locked-up, can't even shut it

Hi I just bought a zen vision m 60 gb? ( just got it yesterday)?and it was working good last night and this morning. I went and bought some sony headphones (model no. MDR-EX5LP) and was listening to music with them, got home and hooked it up to my pc to transfer some more music and it didn't see the player. Then I tried to hook it up to my desktop and the same thing. Then I tried to shut it off and none of the controls worked. It was playing a album at the time and now the album is over, the clock is still working, the batery icon has a yellow bolt through it, it was charged. The LCD is lit-up and stuck at the album that it was playing when it locked up. Can anyone help me I was going to call customer support but not open on the weekend. Can I reset it with the power on? Is there anything I can do to get going again? Thanks Tim

I'm not sure if it will affect the warranty or not, because from what I know the ZVM has to be slightly disassembled to get to the battery, however, unless theres a sticker that says something similar to "Warranty Void If Broken" then it should be ok. Might want to check there support area, because it could have the answer to that question.

Can't deal with this thing any more...3 Hello friends I'm new in the forum
Well as the title mentions, I'm about to throw this thing oute of the window!!!
    It's a 30 GB Zen Vision M, I own it ,5 years now...
I have read all the relevant posts in the forum about this player, I tried my best, nothing really worked.....
So now I have a Zen which only boots in the recovery mode!!
I have Cleaned it Up, Formated it, and tried to reload its firmware BUT when I connect it and try to reload it, in the end it always says Firmware Upgrade Failed!!Really can't understand it!!!!!
I've communicated with Creative, i wasn't at all satisfied with their responses... I think what they're trying to do is to avoid me, and earn some time with really useless suggestions which I had already told them won't work!!!So in the end they wanted me to send my Zen in Italy and pay more than 100 Euros for what an ,5 year old mp3 player? No I prefer buying a new Cowon with that amount of money!!!
Anyways I'm pretty mad now, so I'll move to the subject..
I have Service Pack 3 Windows XP in my computer, and I did roll back on the Media Player 0 from the I had, using the instructions from a previous post. The truth is that it rolled back with less steps than it showed, and I say that because it mentions in a step that in the add-remove programms, in the Windows XP-Software Updates section, I should find a Windows Media player thing which really doesnt exist and I suspect it's the Service Pack 3 because I have done the same in a SP2 and worked exactly as the steps said..Anyway the fact is I have Windows Media Player 0 now!!!
Please someone tell why can't I upgrade my firmware... I can't deal with this anymore!!!!

Why isn't this player working?I've seen many people, not only from here, who have the same exact problem and they gave up on their mp3... This is the Firefox Start Page that was used in Firefox 3.6 and prior versions. <br />
    http://www.google.com/firefox
The '''about:home''' default homepage looks a lot like that older default homepage, but it is missing the Google menu items at the top left-side of the web page, along with the '''''Sign In''''' hyperlink for signing into Google services and the '''''Options''''' "gear button" for setting Google search preferences.
If you want the orange Firefox button to show, instead of the Menu Bar showing, you need to hide the Menu Bar by right-clicking a blank spot on the Menu Bar and de-selecting the Menu Bar by clicking on Menu Bar in that contextual menu.

  • Creative Zen Vision M won't power up. Doesn't even show LED lig

I received a Creative Zen Vision M as a Christmas gift last year. Worked fine for about 3 months, then I started having repeated freezing problems. Fixed those, but eventually the unit just died. No indication of any power. Not even the blinking light. Went to Best Buy where it was purchased, but they could not help. Best Buy tried to find a purchase record, but no luck. After giving up on it for a few months, I thought I'd try again today. I've had it connected by USB for the last 7 hours, but no luck. So what can I do now I like the Creative Zen products (I have had no problems with another Creative MP3 player), and I'd love to get this player working again because I enjoyed watching movies on it in flight.
    Your thoughts would be appreciated.

This happened to me once, so I purchased a new battery, then left it plugged in for a few hours after that.
It froze when I started it up, but when I reformatted it, everything worked fine again.
That may or may not help, sorry.
    Good luck =]

firefox locked on a website on March 23 and stopped functioning altogether as a server PLUS I can no longer shut off my MAC except manually and then manually turn it on with out the Mac start up sequence.
I cannot download updates as Firefox cancels my attempts as it cancels my effort to shut down normally ...it is a great disappointment and a disaster to this non techie who was advised to download Firefox by other more savvy users...HELP

Could you please uninstall firefox from your Mac. Also if you'd like [[Firefox Hangs]] article could also help.

  • Have Photoshop 11, When I try to save 1st image the whole program locks up.  Can't even shut down program.

I open a photo, do adjustments and try to save as usual.  Entire program locks up.  Cannot shut down on own.  Windows error box says an element of the program is not working.  Have to shut down using error box.

The editor prefs often get corrupted. You may need to rebuild the editor preferences to resolve any conflicts.
Hold down the Cmd+Opt+Shift keys and simultaneously click on the Edit button on the welcome screen. Release the three keys and look behind the welcome screen by closing it. Or go to applications and hold down the three keys whilst double clicking on Photoshop Elements Editor application.
You should see a pop up box with the words: Delete Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File?
    Click on Yes
Close down Elements and re-open it in the normal way - then wait whilst it rebuilds the preferences.

  • Ipad 2 frozen not responding to anything locked out can not even turn off all because i down loaded iso 8 thanks apple love you to and a merry christmas to you to    anybody help please

    help

First thing to do is reset the iPad. Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.
Then see what happens as the device restarts. You said you updated to iOS 8? What version of iOS 8 do you presently have on your iPad? iOS 8.1.1 is now the latest version of the iOS. Many users have reported improved performance on an iPad 2. If your iPad does not have iOS 8.1.1 I suggest you update your iPad.

  • Zen Touch is dead, Zen Vision:

I threw my bag on the ground in an angry rage (not Zen related, not very Zen at all in fact). Unfortunately my Zen Touch was in it at the time, and now is sadly dead and headed for the recycling plant ('hard disk problem' screen, click of death, won't reboot etc.) I thought the Zen Touch was a great player a bit let down by firmware / accessory support. I see that Creative are improving these things for the Zen Vision:M so I thought I might upgrade to that. Therefore I have a few questions about this player:
) Does it have a removable battery or not?
    2) What are some good cases for this player? (the Creative one looks nice)
    3) Is the Audible firmware update going to come back, and what were the problems with it's Is type 2 Audible track good enough quality?
    4) Is there anywhere to download legal music/ movie videos in the UK, and is the video feature really as good as it is cracked up to be?
    5) Does the black Zen Vision: M scratch too easily?
    6) Can you switch from music to radio with the separate wired remote?
    7) Should I wait for Creative to make a player with a DAB digital radio (I like radio) or will this never happen?
R I P my poor Zen Touch, I am sorry I destroyed you. Message Edited by joshua32 on 06-07-2006 04:52 PM

. NO removable battery, sorry. But it has a amazing battery life.
    2. The one comes with the device is ideal for carrying, but you can't, of course, use the device inside it. I remember I saw some cases for it.
    3. I don't know, I'm currently using that firmware (you are talking about .40 firmware with Audible support, which was removed after a few days, right), and have some problems with the sound. As soon as I upgraded, I started hearing some sort of clicky noise in the background, my files are mp3.
    4. Don't know about download, but video quality is superior, just as the screen. (supports WMV v3, DivX, MPEG, screen res: 320x240, 800kbps max. for video)
    5. Yeah A bad side of the device. The screen gets very easily scratched, more than the device itself (I have a black one), but fortunately, they don't create a problem as the screen is really bright (you can set it also, the brightness, there are 0 levels)
    6. I dunno, don't have the remote.
    7. I don't know anything about DAB, sorry. But I don't expect (personally) anything with better radio capabilities soon.
r.i.p. btw the case is also a really good protector from crashes for ZVM.
    Bottom line:
I've bought mine in March , and using it frequently, every day.
Definitaly recommend it. Feel free to ask more about ZVM if you have any questions.

  • Rather Odd things are happening to my Zen Vision:M... he

Luckily, I've managed to keep a list up for myself, could I get a response to SOME of my problems?
. The Media Explorer won't read the port my Zen Vision is in. The screen on the thing even says "Docked". To even further raise the question, it can read it if I access the Explorer from my sister's account, and she uses the same brand as me.
    2. Whenever I open the Media Explorer, I get the following message:
    Digit@lway Windows Media Player Plugin
Another copy of MPIO Manager or program that uses MPIO manager is being executed. Please close all programs that use MPIO player and start again
By clicking OK button, it brings me to the Media Explorer like normal. So I don't think this is an actual problem.
    3. My biggest problem. Whenever I try to upload a video(via my sister's account)to my MP3 player, it will give the usual "Preparing...." message.... for a few hours. The files aren't even big! They're roughly 30 MB per file and they're all under 0 minutes.

    Is there any hope?
It seems that when people buy these things, they work perfectly fine up until they reformat their computer, then it stops working.
    What's the deal?
Everytime I unplug my Vision:M, my computer just restarts... And I don't know why. I've set the USB permissions, I have all latest drivers. I have tried both WMP 0 & with all their fixes/updates.
I just don't know what to do anymore. I can't sync my player at all with my computer.
Is Creative going to release a Firmware/Software update that fixes all these connection problems?

  • Zen Vision M Firmware?

  • Zen Vision:M stopped workin after X-fi installatio

Wow.. so.. now not only does my X-fi not work properly in Vista.. but my Zen vision:M is detected as an unrecognized device.. even after uninstalling/reinstalling and repositioning the physical card.. Any ideas about this?

The Zen Vision:M is not related to the X-Fi. When you connected the Zen Vision:M, did you use a port on the front of the PC or the back? Try one on the back. Is it recognised at all in Device Manager? Does the player power on and charge?

  • Zen Vision M permanently locked

When I switch my player on the screen shows the last track playing when it last worked but none of the controls work so I can't use it. I can't change track, get the track showing to play or even switch it off, it eventually goes off on it's own after a few minutes. Basically it won't do anything One odd thing is that the lock symbol is showing all the time even though the lock button on the top is not slid across. I have tried resetting with a paper clip but it does no good. I would be very grateful if?anyone could help me please.

I am having the same problem. My original problem occurred after I saw the symbol that has the player and a warning sign. I found that the battery had drained completely while in my pocket, I am not sure how it got on or stayed on, probably a series of accidents. But I recharged it to full and then I got recovery mode when I started it up. Whenever I try to format all or reload firmware it says that I have a hard disk problem. But I cannot get the zen vision m explorer to recognize the player is connected. The player knows that it is docked, and my laptop knows that it is connected(checked my computer) but not the explorer. Also when I tried to load the newest firmware, it says the player is not there. My scan disk is also taking a long time.Message Edited by seifo on 08-2-2007:04 AM
