Zen Vision:m 60gb "Hardware Problem" Error Mess

My Zen Vision:m has been rebuilding after every startup so I decided to use the recovery tool to fix the problem. In the middle of updating the firmware, the process froze, my player rebooted and now it displays an error message that just says "hardware problem". I can't turn off the player, and it just returns to the error message when I reset, not allowing for me to reboot in recovery mode. Any help would be gladly appreciated. Thanks.

Bad hardri've. Can be replaced google Zen Repair or search Ebay

Model No: ZEN Vision - PMC-HD0002
Error occurred as a result of a firmware upgrade.I can access 'recovery mode' &?have attempted several further firmware upgrades. It loads, rebuilds, reboots, starts then the 'hardware problem' error message returns. The device is currently stating, in 'recovery mode', that the following firmware is loaded v.42.0_0.0.9.I have removed all data (format all), run 'clean up' & 'rebooted' then upgraded firmware but with no success.?Any ideas will be greatly received & appreciated.

  • Zen Vision:M, Mediasource transfer problem and Digital Camera

It used to work. Norton 360 has made a mess of lots of things...
I can no longer transfer via Mediasource to my Zen Vision:M 60gb. I can view, play and rename files from Mediasource and I can transfer to the Vision:M via windows explorer (of course you don't get the benefits of gracenote or other tag modification programs). I have also noticed that on my XP "My Computer" the device shows up as both MY Zen (digital player) and and as Zen? DVP-HD004 as a Digital Camera. Is the digital camera piece related to the problem and/or normal?

The 60GB has a USB host feature for transfering pictures directly to the player that the 30GB does not have.Since the motherboard is not the same that makes sense.Have you tried turning off your Anti-Virus when you need to transfer files?

  • Zen vision M 60GB - storing of pho

    Hi,
Does the Zen Vision M 60GB allows me to store as many photos as I want to on it. Or does it limit me to say 50% of the total GB. I read that the 30GB has this restriction where it allows only 6GB for storing files.
    Can anyone confirm?
    Thanks

Is there enough memory for the video to fit's Is it in the right format/codec? I am assuming it is since you were not asked to re-encoded before transferring the file.
Other than that, you may try restoring or formating the player to the original settings. The worst case scenario is that it is a hardware problem, but try to eliminate all other alternati'ves before reaching that conclusion.
    Good luck!

  • Zen Vision M : 60GB sound issue solv

Hello, yesterday, i?we bought a ZEN Vision M:60GB player and a after playing few tracks, i was looking for a reason of sound hissing a scratching. In this forum i found an answer why,but i cannot find if it was patched or repaired in next firmware For 30GB Zen is available version .6 (-was it patched? in this version) ,for my 60GB is available .20.
    Sorry for my English,
    Thanks for any answers.

I've tried 3 different firmwares(EU and US) ,reformatting player and reloading of firmware, but with no effect. It is a problem with every 6th song on average. Especially it is markable on tracks, which was grabbed from original CD's without any loss sound of quality(like on tracks downloaded from internet)and with full sound spectrum.Very bad on sound with bass.
With enabled equalizer...no matter which preset-it is worse..
On my old mp3 player (Iri'ver ifp999) and with equalizer enabled on U-bass or Rock-the sound on these 'bad' tracks is excellent...full of bass without ANY sound distortion.
On my X-FI without sound distortion too. I'm using these headphones: Koss Porta Pro and Sony MDR-EX5.
    I'm sad about it.
After reading many threads in forum about Vision M-i'm sure, that it's not only my problem. If it is a problem of compatibility od hardware and firmware in ZEN,could it be fixed in next firmware?
    Thanks for answer

  • Where can I download back ZEN Vision:M 60GB firmware v1.10.04_0.0.

    Hi all,
I bought my Zen Vision:M 60GB a few days ago and somehow I made
the firmware doesn't work. I tried to find it from Creative Labs official website.
They only provide the one for 30GB.
Does anyone know where I can download the firmware back?
    Thanks a lot.
    Holly

    Cat,
Of course if my Zen Vision M doesn't have any troubles of the firmware, it is good to buy.
But right now, creative labs put this out of the market and not ready the firmware for the customers even the original one... well, I don't mean that other people should not buy it but if they have the same probelm like me. Go to the customer service center is the only way to solve it... I also think it is not becuase how new of Zen Vision M 60GB, upload the original firmware is easy, right? And no one can guarantee that when I would screw up the firmware, right?
Also, the supporting team keeps telling me that the one online is good for 30GB and 60GB... well, I did try it. My Zen Vision M just told me that I need to connect the MP3. I did but the firmware didn't detect it.
I would like to go to the customer service center in Hong Kong. But their office hour is same as me even mine is longer than them... and they don't open it on publish holiday and sunday. Tell me what should I do? Yeah, right, apply a day off and go to the custmer service center and just for that... As you said it is very new MP3 player, I hope they have enough hardware or software to fix my problem.

  • Zen Vision:M 60GB firmware: NEEDS 'Disc Number' tag supp

The Creative Zen Vision:M 60GB firmware (.20.02e) does not recognise the 'Disc Number' part of ID3 tags.
This is VERY annoying as albums made up of more than one CD do not play in the correct order (they play in order of 'Track Number', e.g. ",,,,2,2,2,2,3,3,3,3,4,4,5,5" etc). I do not want to go through my collection separating these large albums into a messy bunch of single discs.
This seems like a simple firmware issue: please update it!

    jjwood,
Although I can understand the situation, please refrain from using bad language which is uncalled for. In any case, if the player is still having problem despite attempt at rescue mode, then contact Customer Support for service. If the store where you purchase the product allow exchanges, it maybe faster to be done through them.

  • Creative Zen Vision M 60GB no longer recognised on Vi

Im running vista home premium and have had no problems with Zen Vision M 60gb until now. When connected to my PC, the player lights up but does not begin charging as normal.
In addition, my PC will not recognise the player, only saying I can 'safely remove a USB mass storage device'.
Any ideas? - I cant get into the player as the battery ran down (hence why I was trying to charge it in the first place!)
    Thx

Do you have a wall charger for the player? If you do use that instead of the usb from the computer. Also it may take a day or to to charge if the battery is really drained. A good charger to use if you have one is the wall charger for the PlayStation Portable. Radio Shack should also have one you can use for it also.

Hi, I stopped using this MP3 for about 2 or so years because I bought a new one. I decided to start using it again and downloaded all the required software but as soon as I unplugged the MP3 from the power outlet, the player died. I can't get it to start up without plugging it into a power outlet. I think it has rechargable battery? Why didn't it recharge itself?
My second enquiry is about the capacity of the player. When my player was empty, I went into "Information" and it said Total Space: 28GB and Free Space: 2GB. Why is free space only 2GB? Shouldn't it be 28 as well?
    Thanks in advance!
The battery will only last about 3yrs regardless of use.You will need to change it. Did you scroll down to see the album, picture, track counts? Did you partition part of the dri've for removable storage. You can find instructions to open here ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Drkr...e=channel_page & ? the battery here(very easy to do) http://cgi.ebay.com/Original-Creative-ZEN-Vision-M-30gb-Battery-LPCS285385_W0QQitemZ400028645679QQcmdZViewItemQQpt ZOther_MP3_Player_Accessories?hash=item40002864567 9&_trksid=p39.c0.m4&_trkparms=72%3A205|66%3A4|65%3 A2|39%3A|240%3A38|30%3A0|293%3A|294%3A200

  • Zen Vision M:60Gb poor bass performa

I've recently purchases a Zen Vision:M 60Gb to replace an IRi'ver. I am not pleased with the bass response, and was wondering if anyone knew a way to improve it. I have tried setting the EQ and adding bass boost, which is a very mild improvement, this also has the added annoyance of clipping/distorting anything with deep bass notes (Portishead, American Beauty theme etc)I have tried with both Shure E3c, and Sennheiser HD595, and neither has the deep bass response that I am used to. Is this just a firmware issue?I currently encode using the highest setting in WMP 0, is there a better way to rip cds?If anyone could suggest a solution I would be very greatful, as it has got to the point where I am starting to think 'Ipod' and no-one deserves that!I apologise if someone has covered this in another thread, I did a search and couldn't find one, but I am new.

Thanks for the info, unfortunately 5 isn't quite loud enough for me. I wonder if there is a chance that Creative will improve the firmware to provide a better bass response, if this is possible?I have since read that European firmware can be limited, my player is at the latest available version, so I was going to try putting the American firmware on it to see if it improves the output. I have also now had a shot of a colleagues Ipod, and it is not any better, sound quality in general is in fact?worse, so thankfully I won't have to go down that route

  • Zen Vision M 60GB removable disk on Vi

    Hi,
I want to use the removable disk function on my zen vision m 60gb at capacity 32GB. I can't do this on the player; it wants me to use the "Creative Removable Disk Manager" to set the capacity, but what looks like the setup for this program on the install disk won't run on vista, and I can't see any help for this on the site. Can anyone advise a way to let me use the 32GB removable disk function?
    Thanks

    Thanks for the response,
The player has 8 options for capacity of removable disk, 52MB, GB, .5GB, 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 6GB and 32GB. Changing it through the player itself, like you say, works for choices up to 8GB, but trying it on 6GB and 32GB the player gives the message "Unable to resize. Use the Creative Removable disk manager to resize." I've tried cleaning up and rebooting, I've tried formatting the removable disk section but no joy. I had the impression that this issue was common to all these players, because the size was too big to handle itself.

  • Zen Vision:M 30GB recognition problems...Big t

Hi, 2 days ago i ran into a problem with my Zen. I had to charge it, as the battery was low and had to put some new music on it.. I plugged it into the USB port on my Laptop, where all of it's software is installed. The Zen wasn't recognized. Instead of the charging screen it normally started up with, it started up with the play screen(the screen it shows when a song is playing). I looked at the battery icon in the top right corner, and it wasn't doing anything. I turned the Zen off and started it up again. Nothing changed. I restarted my computer. Nothing changed. I shut down my computer and started it back up again. Nothing changed.
I took it to my desktop computer, a Compaq, and tried it there. It worked, but not how i was expecting it to work. The battery icon started flashing with the little lightning bolt, acknowledging that it was charging. But the play screen was still there. The odd thing with this is, i left the player to charge for several hours. When i came back, the Zen was in some form of idle shut-down. The screen was black, except for the battery icon with the lightning bolt. Oddly enough, he battery bar hadn't filled up anymore than when i left it. Upon unplugging the player though, the Zen turned off. When i turned it back on, the bar had filled up more. It wasn't fully charged though.
I plugged the cable back into it, and this time, the battery icon WASN'T charging. It just had the play screen on. It wasn't doing ANYTHING this time. Frustrated, i went out and bought the wall charger, and now i have a full battery. But it doesn't solve why my computer won't recognize my player.
Today, i un-installed the software that came with the player and re-installed it. It didn't do anything. I installed the software on my desktop computer, and THAT didn't work either. So i came to the website here and used the trouble-shoot guide. That didn't help, and this is where my problem differs from the other posters here who have recognition problems:
Back to my laptop: I have Windows Service Pack 2. I installed Windows Media Player . I went to the Device Manger, like the trouble-shoot guide said to. The kicker: Windows Portable Devices is NOT, i repeat NOT in my Device Manager. Neither does the Creative player either. I clicked on "The player does not appear in Device manager". That link showed me a diagram of a desktop computer, so went back to my desktop computer. I did everything above mentioned, and Windows Portable Devices is not in the device manager of my desktop computer either. Further reading the trouble-shoot guide, i could NOT locate "Other Devices" or "Unknown Devices" in my Device Manger on either desktop or laptop. There's nothing "Creative" related or "Zen" related at all in any of the Device programs.
I don't know what to do. All of the trouble-shoot guides don't discuss my issue at all. Everything is "If an MP3 player is reported working properly in Device Manager, but it is not detected or listed in Windows Media Player or Creative Media Explorer..."
Mine isn't even detected in Device Manager. My Device Manager has nothing regarding my Zen or Windows Portable Devices.
I'm thinking about messing with it in Recovery mode, but i don't want to erase everything i have on here, just to have my player still not work. I'm going to try messing with this at my friend's house to check the cable and the player there too.
But any help regarding my situation would be greatly appreciated. This is driving me crazy.

I tried my uncle's Zen Vision: M 30GB on my laptop and strange things happened. My laptop recognized the player as an unknown device and said i needed to install the MTP driver. I did that, and upon doing so, my laptop recognized my Uncle's player as a Portable device, allowing me to transfer songs to his player. But it STILL doesn't recognize MY player. Email support says i have to send it in for repairs, but i don't know...
    Any luck with you?

hi?just bought a Zen vision:M 60 GB. It's cool and everything. I need to protect it but the accessories for it is not available especially leather case and silicone skin. When it is available.

    [size="2" face="Verdana">The DLO Action Jacket for Vision:M does not work with the 60GB Vision:M.   • Zen Vision M 60GB Player recognition w

Hello everyone. I have a Zen Vision M 30 GB player that I've had for a year and love it, so I recommended the product to my boyfriend. He received his 60 GB player in the mail today from amazon.com. Problem: Neither Windows Media Player NOR the Creative Media Explorer recognize the player. My 30GB player is instantly recognized on his computer with his cable, and on my computer with my cable. His player is NOT recognized on either machine, with either cable. Because the 30GB is recognized, I've ruled out faulty USB ports or cables as a problem. BUT...he did plug his in and charge it up, and while it was charging, about 0GB of his 30GB music collection was transferred to his player, with no particular rhyme or reason, and no direction from him. Obviously, at one point, it saw the player or it wouldn't have been able to transfer the music that it did. Both computers in question are running Windows XP SP 2 with all current updates applied,?He has emailed customer support, but it's Friday night and we aren't hopeful that we'll hear anything before Monday. Any ideas in the meantime? I searched for an updated driver, but none were posted on the web site. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated!?~Val in IL

for new zen vision, you need to charge for 5+hrs in order for PC to recognise itdo you have a charger, it will do a better job
