Zen Vision M: current and future products and accessories, lets keep this one going.

I love this product, I think its great so far. Does anyone know of any ZVM products not available in the US that might be elsewhere? Or of any future accessory product plans in the making? I would really like to see a waterproof case. Brookstone Makes one for mp3 players in general, but it woudl be nice to see something that is made for ZVM specifically, also something that doesnt state not for prolonged use, that doesnt make me feel to safe to buy that product, althogh someone I work with has that product for their ipod and loves it.. Also, does anyone have any problems with AV cables not staying attached good enough? I feel that Creative labs should market many more products for the ZVM and word will get out that it kicks ipods buttox. So far I have purchased a few noncreative products, such as AV cables and Car battery charger...my advice is buy the creative...for a few bucks more, it will probably work better. If anyone would like to purchase my current car charger, and av cable let me know. they work...but for example the av cable doesnt seem to connect very good...picture fades in and out on the tv...(i've connected it to my other friends zvm so i know its not the av product itself) and further my car charger when plugged in gets horrible feed back on the speakers...im guessin its not properly shielded. Does anyone have any experience w/ the creative products themselves? is that an issue? Does anyone else have any good accessories for ZVM and where did you find them? I bought a case from Kroo...the screen wasnt so nice so i sent it back and hopefully the next oen will be, I purchased an exercise type arm band case on amazon.com taht I am very pleased with. I have since sent two Zen Vision M's back to where I purchased them. Both units froze up quite frequentley. I cleaned them up and downloaded the firmware only to have them freeze up again. This happened when playing music. It would play several tracks and then just quit. I could not fast forward backup or even power it off. The only way to repair it is to depress the rebuild button. It works fine for awhile and then it happens when you least expect it. I am very disapointed in the customer service also. They suggest several repairs in an email but nothing works. I really liked the fact that this unit has an FM tuner and great color screen but it was nothing but problems for me. I can't afford to take a chance on another unit. I guess I will have to try an Ipod. The very basic thing this unit should do is play music with no interuptions. I was going to take a chance on a different model Zen but I have read many posts and it appears that there are some of the same issues with other models.

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.

Firefox also makes regular backups of your bookmarks in a folder named bookmarkbackups in your personal settings folder. You can restore the backup to your new Firefox, but unlike importing the HTML-format file, it is a complete drop-in replacement, so if you have saved new bookmarks you do not want to lose, the export/import method may work better for you.
By default, Windows hides your personal settings folder so the easiest way to access it is from inside Firefox. You can use either:
* "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
* (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
* type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
In the first table on the page, click the "Show Folder" button. This will launch a window showing your Firefox settings files.
You might want to back up this whole folder if you have other data you want to preserve from your XP computer.
Either way, you should find the bookmarkbackups folder here and when you click into it, find maybe 10 files with dates in their names.

??Hi, I just bought a zv m and dynex uni'versal mp3 accessory kit (I was going to buy the creative stuffs like power?adapter and a/v cable but he said this worked too and it was?more in count ... i checked on the back of it's product and there was compabilitys with some zens and this one:zvm30engbk wich he said was zen vision m 30g black) all right .. so i bought it ( at usa ) and gone home ( at brazil ) ... yeterday at first time?i tried to charge and it didn't work ... the sign of recharging appears and evberything but it just dont charges ( like i can stay all the time using the mp3 with it's plugged but if i unplug it just turn off automatically?) .. .then i got the think that .. maybe is the voltage .. .here in brazil is 0 volts while there in usa is?220?right ? but after charging it on my computer with?creatives cables and etc i gone test the a/v cable and it didnt work well. .the sound was perfect but the image wasn't showing up ... my dad said it was something about pal video config and not ntsc or whatever?.... but anyways i tried alll the ways and?still?got?no image?=/ ... anyone got some idea of whats going on plz? thanks so very much for your attencion and help.

I've been in touch with Creative support for over a week now but so far without success. Every time I download links they suggest I still can't access Creative Media Explorer, I just keep getting this error message:-
"The Creative Media Explorer that is compatible with this device is not installed. Please reinstall the application and try again"
This has included deleting all previously installed Crteati've files as well as downloading in a 'Clean Boot'. I've also rebooted my Zen Vision M.
At this rate I'll have to bin the Zen and look at an ipod:manmad:

Zen Vision M 30Gb and Windows 7

Hi. I have problem with my player. I installed windows 7 and zen media organizer 5. Windows and windows media player 2 detect player. If I want transfer music to my player by creative organizer, organizer writing ,,No Creative MP3 player is detected. Please connect your Mp3 player and try again". But really player is connect and i can use windows explorer to open music folder inside player.A player works as hard disk without problem. Do you know, how this problem solve? Thank you.

I know this thread is old, but I'm having this same issue. WMP2 will find it fine on my Windows 7 64-bit. When trying to use ZENCast Organizer, it will not connect. On top of that, none of the settings I set in ZENCast organizer related to the Zen Vision:M will stay set. Something to do with the use of ProgramData folder in Win 7?

ZEN Vision V freezes and now wont even turn

I dropped my Zen vision V?(3 feet or so) while it was on . At first it would turn on but freeze and would have to reset it, but no it wont even turn on, the power light just flashesany one know whats wrong and can give me a way to fix itand if i have to send it back anyone know how much it might cost?

Zen vision m 30gb and z

When my zen vision m 30gb is sat in the z500 playdock everything functions as it should but the following day (if i have had it on about 5hours) the zen is dead and just flickers on when put back into z500 then stays off. I noticed that the battery is down to the red so i presume that is why it goes off. I thought itshould recharge whilst on z500!
My zen does recharge separately with its own charger,it has the latest firmware so is the z500 faulty?or is it something else?any advice would be great!

Well, first, I'd like to say that I'm new in this forum and I li've in Brazil (that's the question, you'll understand why) and this is my first post.
In the last days, I've been looking for a good media player, and I reached the conclusion of: or I buy a Zen Vision:M, or a Toshiba Gigabeat S. Both with 30GB.
But... looking for information about it, I found one specialized forum about ZEN players, and I stayed afraid of buying the ZVM because there was A LOT of topics related to the freezing of the player, returning to Creative and others problems. I stayed scared to see how many people there was with the status of: one ZEN returned and one new ZEN owned.
So, the question is: I'd like to know if the ZVM is real problematic like that, because I just can't keep sending my ZVM to Creative in the USA once a month! To transport something like this to the USA, the taxes are very expensi've. And it's totally boring, something that you have to fix and fix, or format everytime.
Please! Gi've me this information before I buy it!
I'm sure I'm not gonna drop it, or run with it, I'm gonna use all the protection necessary and plus... I'm gonna treat it very well , so I don't wanna any problems.

Creative Zen Vision M 60GB Questions-Future Ow

Hi, Well I used to have a 4th Generation iPod and recently it crapped out on me and now with the new and "improved" iTunes 7 I have decided to never go to Apple again.
Now the only thing on my mind is the ZVM, With its capabilities to play many types of video codecs makes it far more easy for me so I dont have to do a whole lot of conversions compared to if I were to get a iPod 5th generation.
I was thinking that I would get pretty close to filling the 30GB up to the max if I got lazy about trying to keep things in order so I looked at the next best thing, the 60GB. Now for the questions, The only reliable place I have found that sell the 60GB is Newegg.com, but they sell it for 275, barely 25-35 more than some other stores that sell the 30GB(Newegg is selling the 30GB for 249), 30 bucks more for double storage?!? Instincts are telling me that it sounds too good to be true. How much bigger in dimensions is the 60GB compared to the 30GB? On neweggs site the dimensions seem suspicious because not just the width is bigger but all the dimensions are bigger on the 60GB, Is that correct? Can someone tell me the correct dimensions? Now lets say I do get it, can anyone name a really popular/good case for the 60GB and possible where I could buy it's

Well, to answer your question, I just bought the new 60GB Zen Vision M from newegg.com after comparing many sites it is in fact the cheapest. I could hardly believe my eyes too at first, but new that they are a reputible store and decided to go for it. The specifications they have are indeed correct. The new 60GB Zen Vision M is slightly thicker than the 30GB model, but not as drastic as everyone (especially all the ipod fanboys) are claiming! I actually don't mind it at all because it feels sturdy and is still small enough to fit into a shirtpockrt. Unfortunatley though, as of yet, there are no cases available to fit this slightly bigger unit. I hope Creative gets on the ball soon and fixes this by the holidays because I would hate to have my brand new expensi've investment get all dingy looking so soon. Oh well, at least I still have the UGLY pouch it comes with. But this is the coolest machine I have ever had the pleasure of owning so far, I have downloded over 300 cd's from my collection and 5 movies (in several formats) flawlessly and still have almost 38 GB left!!! This machine is worth every penny and at 30$ cheaper than the 30GB price (at the time it was rolled out, and not much more than what it is going for now) it is a no brainer! The people who complain about creative devices being "bricks" are probably the same people who have phones that are the size of sticks of gum! You can keep your inferior Ipods, I will enjoy my better screen, more features, and cheaper price and laugh at the people who get sold on the ipod fad...

The architecture has gone under a drastic change.
Following are some facts
1) The Client Server Architecture is made Un-available.
2) The CGI mode in the Web Deployment is made Un-available.
3) Only Servlets are functional.
4) The Single Sign On feature has been provided for security.
5) Graphics as a product is removed and are there only as a part of Reports/Forms Builders.
The above I think are of major concern.
